WHAT NEXT for ODM Nomination LOSERS?

DECISION 2017: SOUR GRAPES AND VOTER DEJECTION
By Jackson Omondi
Let’s face it, the on going primaries have not been top shelf and it’s clear that they have left many voters seething with anger. From dual ‘winners’ to outright political juntas the 2017 primaries have exposed what ails our nascent democracy. We are nowhere near where we imagine ourselves to be. As a country, we have our work cut out for us.

But that does not mean that we should hang our cleats and call it a day! There is still a lot of work ahead of us. The primaries may have been flawed and outrightly compromised, but they are not final. No defeated incumbent has gone home yet. At least, until you the voter says so in August. Translation? Your candidate may have been shortchanged in these primaries but remember, you still hold the keys to the ultimate prize and until you say otherwise, whatever happened or is happening now is just a beauty contest.

You will have another opportunity to weigh in and this time, the arbiter or referee will not be a partisan party hack. The IEBC will not have stunt doubles in returning officers. Your maligned preferred choice will have a levelled playing field and your vote will count.

My request is simple : jettison the anger and dejection and get back on your feet. Party honchos may have pissed you off and stiff- armed your candidate, but remember that what they did is nothing compared to the outright theft and looting that the Jubilee government has subjected the people of Kenya to. Don’t let your anger prevent you from isolating and punishing the real culprit who has engaged in national theft.

Jubilee is the real enemy and I urge you to stay focused on the key theatre. Vote for your preferred candidates in August and please, I beseech you to consign the certified incompetent Jubilee government to the political slaughterhouse. They have no business hanging around the tiller.

Do the right thing in August because the Jubilee government cannot keep on depleting what used to be Kenya’s booming economy for another five years. We can’t afford another five years of incompetence, trashtalking, sabre rattling, extrajudicial killings, Mugabesque economy and a nonexistent legal architecture.

But you the voters have the answer.
In August this year, you will have a chance to choose between pricy unga or affordable maize flour provided by NASA, a choice between a pathetic economy or a vibrant economy led by experienced hands of Raila Odinga and his NASA team, a choice between back-breaking taxes because of Jubilee’s out of control borrowing or a sound monetary policy that puts Kenyans first! It’s a choice between better schools and hospitals or a Kenya where the rich send their kids abroad while they annihilate the local education sector and a health sector in which Jubilee intimidates and arrests medical practioners while they send their next of kin to hospitals beyond our shores.

The choice is yours. And for those who feel peeved by the process and feel like sitting out this election season, Plato had this to say to folks like you: ” the punishment for those who refuse to participate in the political process is that they end up being led by those who are inferior to them.”

Have a patriotic day, sorry a happy labor day!

LABOUR DAY: Dear Uhuru & Francis Atwoli, Raising Minimum Wage is NO SOLUTION, Just Bring Down the COST OF LIVING

By Emprahim Njenga

While it is good to raise minimum wage come labour day and given that this is an election year, focus should remain on bringing down the cost of living.

Raising minimum wage every year is counter-productive. Salaries and wages should be tied to productivity and not political declarations. For as long as cost of living remains high workers will always agitate for higher pay. It is a vicious cycle that must be broken.

Kenya’s minimum wage is one of the highest in Africa. This is compromising the country’s competitiveness. According to Federation of Kenya Employers (FKE) minimum wage in Egypt is KShs 6,500 while in Ethiopia it is KShs 5,000 while in Kenya it is KShs 12,600. COTU wants it raised to KShs 15,000.

Employers will retrench workers if non-productivity based pay-rises continue. They will also increase the price of goods putting even more pressure on the cost of living. So far close to 5,000 workers in the tea sector have been laid off as company’s fail to keep up with rising minimum wages.

Uhuru to Spend HUNDRENDS of Millions on PROPAGANDA While Raila NASA Will Only Need to State The Truth

By Anwar Sadat

Jubilee is burning midnight oil generating propaganda against NASA. They have no development records to stand on.

NASA doesn’t need Propaganda. We will just lay out the truth how Uhuru and his family forced the Kenyan government to buy a plot from the Kenyatta family for an upfront fee of Shs 3.6 billions and an annual fee of Shs 785 million to build the Port in Naivasha.

We will make public documents that show how Uhuru and his family benefited by transferring the Mombasa port operations to a UAE company.

We will show how KCB was pushed out by Uhuru and his family from being the guarantor of the M-Akiba government bonds and award that to Commercial Bank of Africa, CBA.

David Maina, the race is still far my brother. Punguzeni propaganda yenu. We have a real July surprise for you and it’s got nothing to do with Uhuru’s degree.

STATEMENT By Hon Kalonzo Musyoka On Hon Nyenze’s OUTBURSTS Regarding NASA Presidential Candidate

STATEMENT BY HON KALONZO MUSYOKA ON NYENZE’S OUTBURSTS

While I appreciate and respect Hon. Nyenze’s personal feeling that I should have been the NASA Presidential flag bearer, it has come to a point that I should now call Hon Nyenze to order.

The last 24 hours, Hon Nyenze’s outbursts have caused confusion, displeasure and unnecessary anxiety not only in Kamba nation, but also among the NASA supporters.

From the very onset, let me assure the Kamba nation and NASA fraternity that I, Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka, the Wiper party leader have no reservations over the NASA line up which places me at number two as we seek to dislodge the corrupt Jubilee administration from power.

As such, let it be known that whatever statements Hon. Nyenze is making, they are personal opinion, which is clearly misguided and do not in any way reflect my thinking or the stand of the Wiper party.

To clear any doubts, the Kamba nation is firmly and solidly behind NASA, the only credible vehicle to take over the reigns of power in the coming polls.

As proof to this, leaders of long standing such as Hon Prof. Kivutha Kibwana, Hon Charity Ngilu and Hon Wavinya Ndeti have joined forces with us to realize this noble cause.

When I said I was the best placed candidate to dislodge Jubilee from power, I also indicated I was ready, if reasonably convinced, to sacrifice my ambitions for any of my brothers in the NASA family.

The fight has never been about personal achievement, aggrandizement or perpetuation but a fight to redeem this country and establish structures that would grow the country’s economy for the betterment of citizenry.

This, I am convinced, will be achieved through the NASA line up and which I urge all Kenyans of goodwill to support and sacrifice for.

Thank you.

H.E Kalonzo Musyoka

BREAKING VIDEO: Kisumu Governor J Raguma CHASED LIKE A DOG, WARNED not to run as INDEPENDENT, Residents support Prof Nyong’o

Meanwhile H Omollo notes:>>

Kisumu Gubernatorial race::

While Nyong’o got the ticket dubiously, it is difficult for Governor Raguma to beat him primarily because his tenure has been pathetic .
From dumpsite to many other ills including poor healthcare system, nepotism and neglect of City infrastructure , the list is endless and ordinary city residents may not support him .

Logically then it would make sense if it was someone else taking on Nyong’o .

My view on Nyong’o is that the guy is a poor executor but a good thinker. He is more technical but less practical .
He will need a lot to succeed.
His ticket needed a hands on performer with proven track record of getting things done.

ODM is the party to beat and the likely succes of Raila in the presidential race makes it more difficult.

As a strong believer in good governance and a constant critic of bad leadership in Kisumu County, I personally find it difficult to abuse my conscience by supporting Jack Ranguma..

So as much as I feel I should not support an electoral ‘thief’ ,I feel nothing good can come from Governor Raguma leadership…

HOW NASA Will DEFEAT Uhuru Jubilee Round 1

In an elaborate plan seen by Sunday Standard, the emboldened opposition grouping projects to score 9,109,344 votes against Jubilee’s 7,297,800 votes. They project 85 per cent voter turn-out in the country —16,407,144 voters out of the estimated 19,302,522 registered voters. From its core support base of the Luhya, Kamba and Luo,Kisii communities, NASA approximates that it will bag a total of 6.3 million votes — 1.7 million from Kambas, 1.7 million from the Luo, 2.2 million from the Luhya community and 0.7m from Gusii.

From the document, Jubilee will score zero votes from the Luhya community it has worked fl at out to impress. It will also score zero votes among the Luo and Kamba. Modest figures ALSO READ: Order and calm as ODM holds elections in Mombasa Saturday, NASA Pentagon member Musalia Mudvadi projected that they would get more votes than these “modest figures” when they launch massive campaigns in the next few weeks. He said they intend to knock on every door and ensure they win the presidential vote in the first round. Another Pentagon member Moses Wetang’ula said they would penetrate the Jubilee stronghold and win over more voters. From the NASA document, the opposition expects to top up their votes from the Maasai (256,118), Kisii (660,000), Somali (660,000), Mijikenda (680,000), Meru (74,000), Turukana (300,000),Teso (124,000) and Kuria (81,000) among others. The party is counting on its newly-minted principal Isaac Ruto to deliver at least 205,000 votes from the Kalenjin nation. In contrast, the analysis approximates that Jubilee will bag 4.8 million votes from its core support base of Kikuyu and Kalenjin communities. In 2013 election, the two communities voted Jubilee man-to-man. From the Kikuyu’s, Jubilee will scoop the entire 3,035,621 of the voters who will turn out to vote. And from the Kalenjin Jubilee will get 1,845,162 votes. The document says the total number of registered Kikuyu voters is 3.5 million but projects that only three million will turn out to vote. Similarly, the Kalenjin vote stands at 2.4 million according to NASA strategists, but only two million will turn out on Election Day. ALSO READ: Several injured as Buzeki attacked To add up to their 7.2 million votes, NASA believes Jubilee will get 64,000 votes from the Maasai, 283,000 from the Kisii, 440,000 from Somalis, 667,000 from the Merus, 128,000 from the Turkana, and 297,000 from the Embu among others. In Nairobi, NASA approximates that the Kikuyu vote to stand at 706,000 followed by Kamba (381,000), Luhya (338,000) and Luo (324,000). The calculations done by a group of consultants engaged by the NASA principals ignores the impact of Jubilee inroads in Coast, lower Eastern and Western. Presidential line-up. Jubilee for supper In the 2013 polls and according to the official figures, President Uhuru Kenyatta beat Raila Odinga, the main opposition candidate by 832,887 votes. Kenyatta scored 6,173,433 against Raila’s 5,340,546. On Thursday, NASA announced its presidential line-up with Raila at the top and his 2013 running mate Kalonzo Musyoka as his deputy. “This time, we are ahead of them in this game. We have done our mathematics and we have the fi gures ready with us. Trust me, on August 8, we will have Jubilee for supper,” ODM Director of Elections Junet Mohamed told Sunday Standard.

BREAKING: ODM PRESS STATEMENT on ONGOING PARTY NOMINATIONS In Nairobi

PRESS STATEMENT
UPDATE ON THE ON GOING PRIMARIES IN NAIROBI
The much anticipated party primaries in Nairobi County kicked off today at 6:00am. Most polling stations in all the 17 sub-counties have recorded a high turnout of members who are presently in the process of choosing their candidates for various seats to represent the party in the general on August 8 this year.
As the person mandated to supervise the exercise, I have visited a number of polling stations to see the progress and I am satisfied that the exercise is going on smoothly.

However, there are a few challenges reported in Embakasi East, Makadara and Embakasi West Constituencies, some parts of Kibra Constituency and Kahawa West in Roysambu Constituency where the exercise began late due to one reason or the other.

I want to report that progress has been made in addressing the problems that led to the late kick off of the exercise in the afore-mentioned areas and we have since resolved them and the process is ongoing now.

On behalf of the National Elections Board, I wish to state categorically that this exercise was well planned and mechanisms put in place to ensure its success. The party wishes to thank the Inspector General of Police for ensuring there is enough security in all the polling stations and that the same shall be extended to the tallying centre where final results shall be announced.

It is the wish of the party that every member gets the opportunity to participate in the nominations exercise to elect candidates to fly the party flag for the various seats in the general election. Any party member with an Identity Card and their name appears in the Register should be allowed to vote. Being a Sunday and most Christians go to Church to Worship, we know many of them may not have found time to participate and therefore we shall extend voting time upto 6:00pm. After 6pm, polling stations will close to allow for vote counting.

I want to applaud party members and aspirants for resorting to consultations rather than violence where there seemed to have been a problem since the exercise began in the morning. We have received many phone calls, answered them and this has helped us to address some of the problems.
Violence is unacceptable. Aspirants should not incite people against their opponents. Anyone who engages in activities that are against the party’s nominations rules and is proved so, shall face automatic disqualification.

I want to encourage members and aspirants with queries to get in touch with the Director of Communications Philip Etale to transmit the same to me and the Board for quick action.

We will update you once I get more information from our officers in the field.
Thank you and God Bless Kenya.

HERE is Hon Kibiwott ANALYSIS of the Railway Project SGR that is Causing Uhuru ULCERS

By Christopher K Kibiwott
Can someone tell me how SGR will benefit the common man? Don’t tell me it will take less time to travel to Mombasa; because you don’t go to Mombasa to bring money, you go there to waste. And by the way, even if you get there one hour earlier, how does that change your life?

Don’t tell me it will boost export because we export nothing apart from corruption which doesn’t need SGR because it is transmitted like disease.

Don’t tell me it will safe our roads because by the time the railway is completed, the cost will not make it viable to use railway to transport goods. Besides, where do you expect the Mois, Buzekis, Rutos etc to take their lories?

Don’t tell me it will create employment because having loaders in Mombasa and other towns is not job creation but a sure way to finish our generations.

If the hundreds of billions used for SGR was used to make roads, we would have 13,000 Kms of new roads in Kenya. This will be double what we have currently. Imagine the impact of such roads to the common man.

It could open up all places for real growth with Agriculture alone creating hunndreds of thousands of jobs, not to mention development of rural based industries.

But then, this is Kenya where leaders don’t want us to get out of this hole of poverty, corruption, tribalism and marginalization.

OPEN LETTER To LUO And LUHYA Voters : Do Not Be BE SELFISH, VOTE Other COMMUNITIES Too in The ONGOING ODM Nominations In NAIROBI

By Simon Ole Kirgit

Today I come forward to urge Kenyan electorates to shun tribalism and vote individuals with impecable record and also loyal to the opposition Alliance NASA. As voters, they must ensure they don’t elect a 5 piece suit of only their tribe.

For example in areas where one tribe is dominant, it’s only fair that members of that tribe be generous enough and look beyond their tribe.

In Dagoreti North, as much as Hon Arati is expected to win, the Gusii community should be generous and fair by looking for merit and vote other tribes for MCA positions. We expect that they will vote a Luyha as an MCA, this will help consolidate ODM vote come August. Remember Jubilee candidate is nominated senator Hon Ms Elachi, a Luyha. To win this seat Hon Arati will need 100% Luyha votes and that will be possible if the luyha community feel represented. We urge the Gusii to vote on merit a Luyha MCAs to make it easier for Arati to DEFEAT Elachi.

In Kibra, we expect that a Luo MP will be elected BUT the majority tribe should also be fair and generous enough to vote MCAs from other tribes on merit- we have Nubi, Kikuyu, Kisii and Luyha in the constituency.

In Langata a constituency that covers the rich neighborhood of Karen all the way to Mombasa Road South C, we expect a non Luo MP. Its fair, and logical, that we don’t dominate in all constituencies and in all positions. A non Luo MP backed by majority Luo/Kisii/Masai MCAs will be winning combinations come August 8th. We must look beyond todat nominations as Jubilee has Nixon Korrir, a Kalenjin despite Kikuyu being populous in the constituency the Uhuru party has set eyes on the seat and trick is to have other tribes support Nixon as a top up of the Kikuyu vote. Now, for ODM a non Luo MP candidate backed by Luo/Kisii/Somali MCAs will do the trick. We need the seat come August 8th.

In Westlands it’s expected that Hon Tim Wanyonyi will retain his seat and therefore it will again be fair that the majority Luyha community in the constituency looks beyond tribe and vote merit in MCAs positions in the constituency. They should equally elect non-Luhya’s in the other positions.

In Makadara Constituency we expect a Luo/Luyha MP but for a strong combination that will ensure super voter turnout in August we expect Kamba MCAs to be nominated.
In Embakasi Constituency Hon. Sumra should be re-elected and the rest is a contest between mainly Luyha, Luo and Kisii. Voters should go for a mix of merit and not just one tribe.

Governor Kidero BIG HEADACHE as he Faces Street Smart, Slum King, Pro-Poor Mike Sonko. HERE IS WHAT HE MUST DO to WIN !

FOR GOVERNOR KIDERO ITS TIME TO PAGE DR HASSAN JOHO
By Jackson Omondi
Now that Sonko has clinched the Jubilee ticket, it’s time for Governor Kidero to page Dr. Joho for a much needed dose of political boost. Senator Sonko had no problem shipping Peter Kenneth to political oblivion and the very skills that he deployed in slaying the Mount Kenya political project are very much alive and ready to take on the incumbent Governor of Nairobi.

On paper, Governor Kidero looks like a giant going up against a liliputian in Sonko but, unfortunately, the political meter readings are not favorable to the Governor’s camp. The political skills between the two are miles apart. Sonko is a champion retail politician while Kidero is a boardroom artist. The two don’t jive and that’s why Kidero must reach out to the man who lit up Nairobi with a triumphant ODM tour that left Jubilants perplexed.

Despite all the political stunts and gimmicks that have now become his trademark, Sonko’s brand of politics is unique and is buoyed by a loyal constituency that believes in him and understand him as a leader. He has also mastered the art of political messaging and has masterfully used the ‘illiteracy’ tag to his advantage. Most “hustlers” can relate to a self-made leader who defied the odds to dine with the kings. “Heck, if he can make it, then why can’t I,” goes the saying. From a political strategy standpoint, this is golden and Peter Kenneth learnt that the hard way.

Governor Kidero can barely deliver a speech that can inspire or excite a kindergarten crowd. His CEO comportment rubs most “hustlers” the wrong way because they see him as their boss. Conversely, Sonko comes across as one of “them.” It’s also instructive to note that he sharpened his rhetoric in the just concluded primaries and Nairobians ate it all up.

With his sword unsheathed and the Governor’s mansion in plain sight, Sonko’s political trajectory is taking shape and the only person who can place hurdles on his way is the Sultan and not Kidero.

A powerful leader in his own right, the Sultan is well suited to deflate the Sonko calvacade. The youth adore him, the women rank him up there with Denzel Washington and he is the deputy party leader of the largest party in Africa!

Thanks to a thoroughly misguide, state- sponsored political witch-hunt, Joho is now a household name with a complete badge of honor to show for it. But that’s not all. The man’s oratorical prowess is pristine and it’s now clear that the enigma’s school of politics served the Governor well.

At a time when the party leader was visiting other world leaders across the pond, the onus was on the Sultan to carry the opposition torch and he didn’t disappoint.
Joho shut down the city! The tour of Nairobi and the Mathare rally was one for the history books! Leader after leader took the cue from the Sultan as he sherpad the opposition entourage into the city with thousands of citizens in tow.

It’s that moment that a beleaguered Kidero ‘found his voice’ after a roaring Joho declared: ” …na gavana wa Nairobi ni nani?” and the crowd roared back in unison. The Joho endorsement came at time of tremendous angst in ODM and it imbued Kidero with a sense of legitimacy.
Governor Kidero will need the Sultan in the capital city. He will need the Sultan to do what he can’t do – inspire people and get them ginned up to vote for him.

The Sultan can singlehandedly bring down the house at any given time and given the stakes in this contest and the nature of Kidero’s opponent, he will need a master crowd- puller and political firebrand with national political gravitas. And with the enigma fully focused on Uhuruto, the Sultan is the only politician with the chops to put away Sonko.

Anything short of a full throttle surrogate campaign will be a disaster for Kidero and if you factor in the Miguna angle then you have a complete nightmare for Team Kidero. Miguna will peel away some of the “intellectual voters” or the highly educated voters who just can’t fathom being led by a brash, unlettered and thuggish individual. Team Sonko is well aware of this and they will stick to their script. It’s upon Kidero to pull all the stops, including paging ‘Dr Hassan Joho’ for a much needed dose of campaign boost.G

”Uhuru Jubilee WILL NOT be RE-ELECTED, Rising Cost Of Living is Terrorizing All Kenyans including Kalenjins and Kikuyus”- Governor Ruto

BOMET Governor and NASA’s Co-Principal H.E Isaac Ruto has accused the Jubilee Administration for failing to address the rising cost of living.

Speaking at Ololopiril primary school in Narok West on Saturday, Governor Ruto said the hard economic times has caused a lot of suffering to Kenyans whom, he said no longer afford to buy basic commodities due to sky-rocketing prices.

The CCM party leader was accompanied by Narok West MP Patrick Ole Ntutu and Ms Lydia Ntimama who are gunning for Narok County Gubernatorial seat and Women Representative on CCM party ticket in August 8th Polls respectively.

The leaders asked communities in Rift Valley to support NASA for good governance.

They said Jubilee failed locals in last five years thus the need to give CCM a chance in the election.

Governor Ruto said high prices of basic commodities and failure to embrace devolution are main issues Jubilee should be voted out.

Uhuru personal Friend Musician JAGUAR CRIES LIKE BABY at JP Headquarters, Says he will NOT Negotiate With Hon Kamanda over Starahe Jubilee Ticket

Musician Charles Njagua, popularly known as Jaguar, has refused to negotiate with Maina Kamanda on the winner of the Starehe MP Jubilee polls.

Jubilee officials on Thursday declared Kamanda as winner with 10,374 votes, while Jaguar lost with 8,391 votes.

Party secretary general Raphael Tuju said the nominations will be repeated after Jaguar’s supporters protested at the headquarters.

But Jaguar has refused a repeat of the polls and staged a protest at the Jubilee headquarters on Saturday.

“We don’t want negotiations … I will not sit down with anyone and will not go back to the elections again. I am not ready to talk to him (Kamanda). Democracy is not about negotiation,” Jaguar said.

Kamanda had earlier said he was ready to dialogue with the musicians.

“It’s not about me, it’s about starehe people. Kama Kamanda andhani nataka niwe nominated (if Kamanda thinks I want to be nominated), he is mistaken. It has been a very difficult time for me,” Jaguar said.

Jaguar said Kamanda should step down for him since he won fairly.

“We are not stupid … Tangu lini wazee wakaanza kuwaibia watoto wao? Na kama anasema mimi ni mtoto wake basi aniheshimu,” he said.

(Since when did the old start stealing from their children. And if he says I am his child then he should respect me.)

During the primaries, there were reports that Jaguar was tipped to win the Jubilee ticket.

The musician’s supporters refuted the results accusing Kamanda of rigging out his opponent in the election to get flag bearer for August.

“We expected Jaguar to win. There is massive rigging here,” one of them was heard saying as police moved in to break the crowd.

BREAKING: ODM DECLARES Prof Anyang’ Nyong’o VALIDLY NOMINATED for Kisumu Governor

ODM has declared Senator Anyang’ Nyong’o as the winner of the Kisumu governor ticket.

Election board chair Judith Pareno said on Saturday that Nyong’o garnered 164,553 votes against incumbent Jack Ranguma who had 98,573.

Ranguma and Nyong’o had both been declared winners after ODM Kisumu governor primaries on Tuesday.

Nyong’o was declared winner by county returning officer Tom Okong’o at Thurdibuoro Secondary School in Nyakach constituency after he garnered 164,110 votes against Ranguma’s 91,480.

At Aga Khan Hall in Kisumu town, Ranguma arranged for a self declaration in which he was announced the winner by deputy returning officer Richard Kiyondi with 118, 934 votes against Nyong’o’s 32,028.

But early Saturday, ODM’s tribunal committee nullified the nomination certificates given to the two and asked the party NEC to declare a candidate as per party constitution.

Ranguma and Nyong’o, through their lawyers, argued their case before the ODM tribunal, each saying they were duly elected.

Ranguma issued a statement on Friday assuring supporters he will be on the ballot in the August 8 elections.

BIG SUNDAY: Nairobi ODM Nominations Kick Off Amid Controversy of Luo Domination from Governor To MCAs

By KT Team

As the ODM prepares.to conduct it’s primaries in Nairobi tomorrow, fear of tribal domination is dominating behind-the-scene deal making between MPs and their preferred MCAs. So intense is the background mobilisation that most known ODM aligned individuals have gone underground.

Flash points include Makadara Constituency where party stalwarts Reuben Ndolo and George goes head to head in the parliamentary nominations. It’s a contest that has split ODM supporters right down the middle.

In Embakasi East, veteran student Babu Owino leader faces off with various candiates among them.media personality Francis Masinde.

In Kibra, Ken Okoth faces the battle of his life againstEliud Owalo who has been on the campaign trail for the last 2 years.

At the Langata surburb of Nairobi where the party enjoys widespread support across all communities a foreboding mood and uneasiness is building.

Out of ten ODM parliamentary aspirants in Langata, a record seven are from the majority Luo community including the incumbent Olum Joash, who inherited the seat from ODM party party leader Raila Odinga.

Traditionally a stronghold of the ODM, Langata is also the biggest constituency in terms of land area in Nairobi as well as the home constituency of all the three CORD principals. It forms part of the constituency that Rt. Hon. Raila Odinga ably represented as from 1992-2013.

This unforeseen politically domineering development in Lang’ata will see Olum Joshua, Omoke Oscar, Ouma Jacob, Otieno Ouda, Omolo Jared, Adhiambo Oguwa, seriously undermines the new NASA consciousness that seeks to promote national cohesion and community coexistence as the prevailing political themes of the future .

Party stalwart Ahmed Papa, a native of Langata, remains a front-running aspirant in this contest due to his non-Luo heritage because this enables him to retain the ability to unite other communites behind him and also be an attractive alternative for conservative Luo’s while the rest of the contestants; Olum Joshua, Omoke Oscar, Otieno Ouma Jacob, Adhiambo Oguwa, Juma Okinda, Otieno Ouda, Odhiambo Omolo and Jumba Okinda facing the rest of the aspirants.

The race will predictably split Luo traditionalists right down the middle as it will boil down to a Central versus South Nyanza, and in some instances a clan war.

Party chiefs at Orange House have been burning midnight oil trying to prevent a situation where, like Jubilee whose, all but one MP in Nairobi is from Mount Kenya region a situation that ODM Party Leader Raila Odinga is keen to avoid.

ODM technocrats will be forced to the drawing board and rethink nomination rules after the Langata constituency parliamentary nomination list exposed what pundits say is a worrying hegemony by Luos not just at the parliamentary level but at the county assembly level and the local party branch as well.

The accusations of ODM being dominated by the Luo community in Langata are not far-fetched as the party constituency officialdom is equally firmly in control of the Luo community and there are palpable grumbles from the Kisii and Luhya communities which are agitating from consesus on sharing of party and elective positions.

WHY ODM Supporters Must HENCEFORTH STOP Dragging The Rt Hon PM Raila Into the Party Nominations Mess

By Lee M

ODM nominations has always been a chaotic affairs. Pundits blame the botched nominations in 2013 for failure by the ODM party to win majority of parliament seats in the country. In Kisumu country, out of 7 parliamentary seats, the party lost two and in Muhoroni, majority Mcas were elected on PDP ticket. In Migori, the Governor, an MP and a host of Mcas were elected on other parties.

As a result of the botched 2007 and 2017 nominations, party members petitioned the party leader to disband the highly discredited NEB which oversaw those nominations.

As a Democrat, the party leader heeded to the calls and engineered changes at the NEB. First, NEB was made autonomous with an aim of reducing influence from the Lords of impunity and secondly, the NEB was devolved to the counties so that counties could manage their own nomination affairs.

A new board was then put in place. The entire former board was disbanded. Only Hon Pareno Judith was retained for continuity.

As we approached the nominations, our Party leader assured supporters that the nominations would be free and that we will get it right this time. He then mandated the NEB to conduct free, fair and credible nominations.

Then the mess happened.

I followed the elections very closely. We must give credit where it’s due. In most instances, elections were largely successful. People turned up and voted peacefully. In most polling stations, votes were counted and results announced.

The big question we must ourselves then is what caused the mess after peaceful voting and counting?

In my view, a number of factors can be attributed to the chaos that followed our nominations.

First, I am aware most aspirants focused their attentions on final declaration of results. They worked hand in hand with their goons to ensure they are annouced the winners. To achieve this, they ensure results from their opponents strongholds are not announced. Most aspirants engineered kicking of ballot boxes at their opponents strongholds. In this instances, we blame the aspirants.

Secondly, some aspirants, in collaboration with the NEB, conspired to influence the appointment of returning officers who are their cronies. This was the beginning of mistrust. Sadly, NEB made little efforts to correct this. In this cases, NEB takes full responsibility.

Third, most returning officers saw this nominations as avenues for making easy money. I know of aspirants who parted with money or were asked to give money so that they will be declared the winners. Most returning officers made duplicate certificates which they then sold to gullible aspirants. That’s why in some instances we have more than three provisional certificates. In such cases, we blame the NEB for failing to vet the ROs.

Fourth, most aspirants declared themselves winners after winning in one or two polling centres. I am yet to meet any aspirant who has conceded they lost. Blames aspirants here.

Omiyo, anybody blaming Raila Odinga for the nominations fiasco must be told it’s the NEB and aspirants who should be blamed for the mess. The people our Party leader trusted with the responsibility of delivering free and fair nominations to the party members failed him.

Kisumu Governor Aspirant Dr MCobewe Lauds ODM Appeals Tribunal for REVOKING Certificates Issued to Prof Nyong’o and Gov Raguma

ODM NEB to decide Governor for Ksm:

The petition filed by Dr. Hezron Otieno Mc’Obewa was dispensed with yesterday and a verdict that annulled the certificates issued to Prof. Anyang Nyong’o and Governor Ranguma arrived at.
The party Tribunal went further and directed the party to use other constitutional means to arrive at the candidate for Governor.
Those means in our view leave the discretion to the party NEB to pick a candidate of it’s choice in line with party election laws which has many options for picking a candidate.

While this was not our prayer we believe it is a fair judgement and lays grounds against self declaration in future .

The matter therefore comes to an end at that point more so for Dr. Hezron mcobewa who petitioned the tribunal…

As team Mc’Obewa we are satisfied with that directive and will abide by the party direction on this matter as we have always played by the rules ..
Our focus therefore shifts henceforth towards the election of Prime Minister Raila odinga and NASA flag bearer as the next PORK.

Thank you all team members for fighting this far and for voting Dr. Mcobewa even though the vote did not count .

Sgn,

Hesbon Omollo
Campaign coordinator
Dr. Hezron Mcobewa for Ksm Governor 2017.

HOW and WHY Jubilee DISCRIMINATED And HUMILIATED Hon Millent Omanga, HOW She Lost The Kisii Vote and Much More…

By O Onyakundi
Millicent Omanga’s greatest undoing was to underestimate the role that one’s ethnicity plays in the politics of Nairobi. One ‘Esagasaga Night’ at ‘The Carnivore’ a couple of months ago, chants of ODM! ODM! rent the air the moment she stepped onto the stage. This infuriated her, she lost her cool and retaliated with ‘unprintables’ that were delivered in Ekegusii, and mentioned the revelers’ mothers. This left everyone wondering if she cared at all for the Kisii vote in Nairobi.

The best opportunity to seduce the Kisiis of Nairobi ‘face to face’ and ‘one on one’ was hence lost. Next, she was invited to a vernacular radio station to address the entire Abagusii community on her candidature. She insisted on speaking English because she claimed she couldn’t speak Ekegusii well enough to sustain a conversation. Her second best opportunity to seduce the Kisiis of Nairobi was hence lost as well.

In her naivety, she probably figured that because the Abagusii of Nairobi are in the ODM, it wasn’t worth a dime to expend any effort to woo them. Besides everywhere she went with her campaign goodies from Kayole, to Dandora, to Mwiki, and other largely Kikuyu settlements, the Kikuyu people there kept assuring her of their votes. The first sign that she was beginning to wake up and smell the coffee came through a rant she posted on her Facebook Timeline recently whining about how her opponents ~ all Kikuyu ~ were telling the Jubilee supporters in Nairobi not to vote outside their ethnic community. But she soldiered on.

The second sign that the coffee had hit her nostrils was last night on TV when she was seen yelling her frustrations through the grills of the closed gate to Jubilee House. The third sign that she has not only smelt the coffee, but drank it too is this picture of her seated outside Jubilee House looking deflated, defeated, forlon, fallen, pitifully sad, abandoned and lonely.

And that is why Kidero could not let Ester Passaris face off with Beatrice Kwamboka in a free and fair contest for the ODM Nairobi Woman Rep position because ‘Mcheza kwao hutunzwa’. All non Kikuyus in the ODM would automatically line up behind Kwamboka, and snub Passaris just like all Kikuyus in Jubilee lined up behind Shebesh and snubbed Omanga. In a ‘man eat man society’, if you ain’t got a seat on the table, you are probably on the menu. Dear, Kisii aspirants with aspirations, kindly note that our seat is on the ODM table. In Jubilee party, we are on the menu.

EMOTIONAL: Nyabururu Girls School Student SUFFERS A RARE DISEASE, At the Wink of Survival After Losing Her Hearing and Legs

Nyabururu student at the wink of survival after losing her hearing, legs

By Elijah Nyaanga Scholarman

The family of a Form 4 student at Nyabururu Girls National School is in quandary after their first born daughter got grounded due to serious and mysterious hearing and walking illness.

Deborah Kemunto’s parents; Andrew Seth Mosiria, a lab technician at Egetonto Dispensary, and Everline Okenyuri, a house wife, from Nyabinyinyi village, Magenche Location, Kenyenya Sub-county in Kisii County, are left with no option but to helplessly watch their bedridden daughter, gnashing teeth because of the affliction she is going through. Deborah can neither hear nor walk; a baffling health condition that has left her totally dependent.

They carry her in and out of the house and dress her diapers for long and short core because she cannot move by herself.
Her grandmother, Monica Nyatichi Mosiria, who stays with her, says they have improvised a mobile toilet, seat like, that she sometimes uses to respond to a call of nature.

“My granddaughter is totally dependent. We carry her from my bedroom to sitting room and outside in the morning and then back in the evening because she cannot support herself. It’s really hurting and disturbing. She rarely sleeps because of the pain she goes through. I equally don’t sleep,” the distressed Nyatichi said.
Her health was in perfect condition until late 2013, her mother recalls, when she started complaining of hearing problems. She was a class eight candidate then at Nyambunwa Academy in Kisii South Sub-county. Her condition did not deter her from excelling academically; she scored 347 out of 500 marks that enabled her to join Nyabururu Girls High School. Her health condition worsened early 2014 after joining Form one.

Her mother, 36, told Scholarmedia she took Deborah to Kenyenya Sub-county Hospital where she was given drugs but the problem was never contained.
“The problem persisted that prompted us to take her to Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital for further examination and treatment. She was given drugs too. A friend advised us to take her to Dr. Geoffrey Otomu, an Audiologist, who carried out examination and tests and told us she was suffering from low hearing. She could not hear unless you spoke loudly.

He referred us to Dr. Benson Ototo of Beam Hearing Center in Nairobi. Dr. Ototo recommended Hearing Aid machines to help restore her hearing. We bought the machines that supported her for like one and half years before the problem resurfaced late 2015, we tried to recharge the machines as Dr. Ototo advised in futile. She lost her hearing 100 per cent. She was in Form 2 at that time,” her mother, who is also suffering from Rheumatic Heart Disease, narrated amid tears.

A 2015 referral report from Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) states that Everline Okenyuri was supposed to go for an operation and replacement of valves in India but due to financial constraints and her daughter’s condition, she has since shelved her problem to attend to her daughter case first. She does light jobs only.
She added: “We got another friend who linked us to a Doctor at Tenwek Mission Hospital who also told us the patient required Hearing Aid so as to support her hearing. He did syringing and washed her ears, and told me to be taking her to Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) for check up. That was April last year.

We bought other Hearing Aid machines but they were not working. The problem was totally resistance. So far we had spent more than Sh. 150, 000 for the Hearing Aid machines only with little help. We have also lost sums of money to fraudsters who come in the name of helping us with better machines.”
Okenyuri says they have been drained off few resources they had and they are left in the wilderness not knowing what to do next as the health of their daughter keep deteriorating each day passing.

During this time, Deborah relied on her classmates and teachers for notes because she could not hear completely. However, she can speak fluent English, Kiswahili and Ekegusii, her local dialect, upon guidance through signs or writing down whatever one wants her to communicate on.

As if the family’s double misfortune is not enough, the 17 year old started developing legs problems in July 2016 while she was in Form 3.
Her mother can remember her first born child in a family of four coming home for a half term staggering; she had lost her balance. One could mistaken she was drunk.
“My daughter came home for last year’s second term a half term with an extra health problem. She was staggering. She complained of weak legs. She went back to school thinking it was a minor problem and hoped she would get back to normal.

They closed school for August holiday and I realised the problem persisted, I took her to KTRH where CT scan tests were done but there was no neurosurgeon to read the results. We were referred to either Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital of KNH. We chose MTRH after conducting a fundraising on September 1, 2016.”
She continued: “My daughter was admitted for three days and discharged without any test or treatment. We were told to go back after two weeks. We went back later that month whereby she was admitted for two weeks. An MRI test showed she had tumors in both of her ears. I was told to look for an ICU bed outside MTRH because their facility’s ICU was full.

We found the ICU services at Fountain Hospital in Eldoret where she was admitted for two days after she underwent a successful operation on the right ear at MTRH. We coughed Sh. 100, 000 for the ICU bed per day. We went back to MTRH where she was re-admitted for one week before she was discharged. We borrowed Sh. 100, 000 that enabled us clear the hospital bill.

The doctor told us to go back on December 21, 2016 for check up and see if they could carry out operation on the left ear but due to Doctors’ strike that had started we didn’t go back to MTRH. We took her to Nairobi Accident Hospital on February this year (2017). Dr. Mayor referred her to India’s Artens Hospital for Meningioma.”

Deborah, a Form 4 candidate, hopes her health would be back to normal by October this year when she is slated to sit for her Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams. She was promoted to Form 4 using Form 3’s Second term exam results. Despite her health condition, Deborah scored B- in her exams. She has not attended any single class since then.

“My health condition has cost me a lot academically and socially. I am now forced to revise for the five months away KCSE exams from home. Am determined and hope I will get well and sit for the exams. I know I will pass in Jesus name despite that I have not attended well classes for better part of my secondary education.
I want to be an audiologist so that I can help address issues related to my health condition,” the composed and optimistic Deborah told this writer when he visited her Nyabinyinyi home.

Her uncle, Gwaro Mosiria, expresses the agony the ailing child has caused the family saying she is a bright girl the family was looking up upon.
“My daughter is very bright but her sickness has really affected her academics. She is the family’s investment and hope. We have moved her from one hospital to another but her health condition is still in limbo. We have spent over Sh. 500, 000 but we have not seen any improvement. We are left with no coin but we are preparing to take her to India for further examination and treatment. We hope God will get our way and see her through successfully.”

The family is appealing for financial support from well wishers to enable them fly their kin to India later this month for specialized treatment. They are sourcing for Ksh. 1.5 million.

The Die Has Been Cast: It Is Raila Tinga Kazi Vs Uhuru PR Propaganda Master

Re: The Die Has Been Cast: It is Uhuru vs. Raila – Part II
By D S
And so it came to pass.

The National Super Alliance Party (NASA) revealed its line-up for the August 8th General Elections and to no one’s surprise, at the head of the ticket is former Prime Minister and a perennial member of the opposition, Raila Odinga with Kalonzo Musyoka as his running mate. And unlike the duopoly that is Jubilee, the NASA coalition has a more national outlook with virtually all regions of Kenya save the incumbents’ strongholds of Central/Mt. Kenya and most of Rift Valley represented.

NASA’s encouraging and promising diversity aside, I find myself more indifferent than surprised by the selection. Part of my indifference is a function of the post-ICC/post-Trump/post-Waiguru era where individuals of suspect character and moral turpitude can be elected into public office.

The other reason for my indifference about the line-up; frankly about the upcoming elections is because of the highly dysfunctional and chaotic nature of primaries – across all major parties. I have an unsettling feeling that just like some of hotly contested high profile primary races, the presidential competition is going to be a national exercise in confusion and chaos with the incumbency having the upper hand, NOT because they have superior ideas or competence or a record they want to tout.

The incumbency have the upper hand because those who control the levers of power, first at the grassroot level then at the national level have a decided advantage and will do whatever it takes to retain power. This is a point vividly illustrated in some primary races where shouts of “rigging”, “ballot-stuffing” and “shenanigans” reigned supreme.

My apathy and blasé aside, pundits and prognosticators alike have been in hyper-drive since the line-up was announced in Uhuru Park this past Thursday April 27. “Experts” and “analysts” have even taken to posting screenshots, supposedly from 2-3 years ago when they “called it” i.e. the opposition’s line-up. Likewise, quack-statisticians, applying predictable “push” polling methodology to provide “statistical” bases for their bias, have unveiled “polling data” that show Raila “losing” to Uhuru, with some boldly predicting that the loss will come in the first round.

Since I don’t have a crystal ball nor a graduate of Ft. Hall’s School of Government, I will harken back to a previous post where I offered that regardless of whether one is in elected office or not, Kenyans should seek to be servant/leaders.

I realize that public service is not for the faint-hearted, especially in a country and culture such as Kenya. However, the country is in desperate need of public servants in the servant/leader mold. Frankly given the country’s penchant for wearing its religiosity on its collective sleeve, I am surprised that the idea of serving others in the servant mold is not the modus operandi. Additionally, given how many “Prayer Rallies”, “Hours of Power” and “Revivals” Kenyans attend in any given year, I am surprised that we don’t have a country teeming with servant/leaders.

Maybe that is NASA’s ace in the hole; that compared to the current (Jubilee) leadership, NASA has a history of servant/leadership that Jubilee can only speechify about. The coalition is headed by the personification of Kenya’s struggle for multi-partyism Raila Odinga. That is national hero status in most societies! Additionally, in any polity other than Kenya, base lining the last four years since 2013 would be enough to make Uhuru/Ruto a one-term administration. Between the gross and rampant corruption, impunity, incompetent and unaccountable leadership (jameni mnataka ni fanye nini?) and very few significant and successful development projects INITIATED (given the amount of money borrowed), this election should be a slam-dunk – for the opposition.

However, unless there is a tectonic shift in the mood of a critical mass of voters, I am afraid that the twin arguments of “the devil you know versus the one you don’t know” and “same forest different monkeys” may just carry the day and see the incumbency back in power come August 8th.

The ODM Elections appeals tribunal has nullified nomination results for Kisumu county governor, effectively both certificates issued to Prof Anyang Nyong’o and incumbent Governpor Jack Ranguma revoked. In line with ODM Constitution the National Executive Council will select a candidate and his/her deputy.

This decision follows a petition by one of candidates Dr. Hezron Otieno Mc’Obewa who came third behind Nyong’o and Raguma over the manner in which the two leading candidates declared themselves winners before vote counting was concluded .

Be Ready to Pay More for Basic Commodities as INFLATION Hits All Time High at 12%

When Inflation rate rises from 10.28% to 11.48% between March and April what does that mean to you?

Let’s define Inflation – a continued rise in how much goods and services cost in an economy. Any inflation means that the currency (in this case the kshs) is worth less as each unit will be able to buy fewer of these goods and services.

For example a packet of Tuzo milk 500 ml is now 80 shillings in a shop near you from 40 shillings. That means the 80 shillings that would have bought you a loaf of bread and packet of milk can now buy only one item.

Let’s translate further. Any time that inflation is rising faster than your earnings you are actually getting less than you coould get previously. It is in fact equivalent to a pay cut without the luxury or reduced tax on your pay. It also generally means an average Kenyan is getting poorer every month irrespective of their income level. They also go into debt and fail to save.

As inflation rises, in addition to businesses being forced to raise their prices, banks are forced to raise interest rates in order to maintain a profit margin. Now that is an ideal situation where interests are not capped by central government. In Kenya this was fine and already SMEs and micro entrepreneurs could not access credit which is critical for growth.
These marginal businesses will fail, thus increasing unemployment and harming the overall economy.

An inflation growth rate of more than 1.2 % per month is CRAZZZY. In the UK, price stability means ensuring that the price level increases gradually, by an average of no more than 2% per year. Now Multiply Kenyas by 12 months and see what that looks like.

Because inflation erodes the value of money and assets, If assets are stored in a monetary form, inflation means that asset values fall. This explains why, during inflationary periods, individuals often choose to put their wealth into physical assets, like property, rather than keep it in a monetary form in a bank account.

Looking at all known factors of high inflation, in Kenyas the cause is mainly Excessive public sector borrowing.
Now let’s talk about the Government borrowing from Raia through M Akiba Bonds at a simple interest of 10% per annum. You already can see how that’s a rip off against the prevailing inflation rate. Assuming the inflation rate remains constant Kenyans who have loaned the government their cash will be making a loss of 1.48% . And they cannot touch it without a ‘penalty’ on the rate. As inflation rises faster than the return on these bonds, they become less valuable. That’s when people rush to sell them, further depreciating their value. The government of Kenya now is operating like a pyramid scheme.

Finally If inflation reaches the double-digits, that’s hyperinflation. If it continues to happens, you will soon need a wheelbarrow to buy a loaf of bread. It only happens when the government is so irresponsible that it prints or borrows money without regard to the inflation rate. It happened in Germany in the 1920s, and in Zimbabwe in the 2000s.

So in truth the Jubilee Government led by Uhuru and Ruto together with Central Bank of Kenya led by Njoroge in close Cahoots with Treasury led by Rotich are here to make sure you are poor for as long as they are in office. Also just noticed the two regions they come from… but that’s non of my business. Maybe it’s yours.

HOW DP Ruto CORNERED and Politically ‘FINISHED’ Hon Peter Kenneth in A Well SCRIPTED Game Plan

By Arap Doyo

If you schooled in Moi University between 1984 and 2014, most likely you must have across one man by the name Dean DM Mureithi.

Mureithi was not your ordinary Dean of
Students. He was shrewd, astitute and a political genius. He controlled both the student Governing Council and The Student “opposition” with ease.

When Mureithi felt you had a considerable influence among the students, harbored radical ideologies and a thorn in the flesh of the university’s ruling establishment, he would devise a tactiful way of taming you. And it worked 90% of the time.

Using his countless student spies, Muriithi could find out every single detail about you, from who you slept with to who you copy your assignments from.

From there, he would start by issuing threats; opening the green book, mentioning the University senate, suspension and explusion endlessly. Most students would quit at this level.

But then there were those who had ” steel balls”. Not even the threats nor the green book rules could stop them.

But for Mureithi all he needed was time and patience. He would lower his ego to an extent of stomaching insult directed at him, knowing too well he eventually would corner you. Gradually, he would begin appealing to your self interests, in every available manner.

He would suggest creation of student commissions where he awards you a senior position and pumps huge monies into it.

Additionally, he would ensure you are part and parcel of every student tour as well as giving you money to run student events which in most cases never happened.

And with the meagre pocket money, even the so called “clean” radical students would find it very difficult to escape the lure. Many got to be neutralized at this level.

But there was a few who could “enjoy” but still cause ‘trouble’ to the administration.

Behind their back, Mureithi would release all the information, including the cash approval documents, to a very influential vigilant campus media and your enemies in the campus political industry.

Within hours, the information spread like bush fire. Students begin labeling them admin projects, thieves and all the other negative descriptive terms on earth.

And just like that, the students’ trust in them is gone. The influence is multiplied by zero and hence no longer a threat to the administration.

PETER KENNETH

The Jubilee duo saw a threat in PK. A future threat, a thorn in the flesh; a perceived enemy to Uhuru’s succession plans. And neutralizing it in 2017 was safer using Mureithi’s tact of buy loyalty first, feign support, mislead, erode public trust and eventually kill with glee.

In 2013, PK had a very favorable image among Kenyans. He had created for himself a national appeal, a widely talked about record and an anti-status quo image. In the eyes of the Kenyan public, he cut the image of an “ideal” leader.

Fast forward to 2017.

Peter Kenneth has been missing from the scenes. The Jubilee leadership plucks him from holiday and convinces him to run for office.

But to do that, he has to dissolve his party KNC and support Uhuru Kenyatta for his re-election. Mark you, this is a man he opposed in 2013 dismissing his presidential credentials.

Immediately after the endorsement, PK comes under heavy criticism. He is accused of double standards, ethnicity and political dishonesty. His “third force” image among the public as an outstanding clean politician is eroded, killed and buried. The general argument now is that he’s not only a typical Kenyan politician but a hypocrite too.

PK, after wide consultations with Jubilee, says he wants to run for the Nairobi gubernatorial contest on its ticket with an eye on future heavier duties.

He rejects to vie in his native Murang’a county. Mark you, in Nairobi he is to face well established city politicians Sonko at the primaries and if he wins, Kidero at the ballot.
Here again, PK is led to a slaughterhouse- willingly.

A stage managed “support” is given to him weeks to Jubilee Primaries. All city Jubilee politicians are supporting PK now. Reports are rife that Uhuru too is supporting him. DP Ruto is deeply silent.

And to extend the narrative that the system is behind PK, the ODPP opens a case file on Sonko’s academic record. Jubilee headquarters is also seen to give him a hard time clearing him for the nominations.

Sonko is infuriated. He feels he is under siege oblivious of this well scripted play where he and DP Ruto are the end beneficiaries.

A week to the primaries, PK is alone. All the city politicians who used to hang out with him from one rally to another have vanished.

Jubilee bloggers and agenda setters are mocking him and telling him to collect his votes from Facebook.

Come the nomination day, PK is beaten like a burukenge. He cries foul. No one is listening. The political establishmeny is unbothered. The public too doesn’t give a damn. His political career is over.

The PK of 2013 is no longer the PK of 2017. Most importantly, he is no longer a threat to Uhuru’s 2022 sucesssion plans.

Laughter can be heard in Sigoi and Gatundu.

Kenyans HOPEFUL that Raila NASA Regime Will Tilt Scales for the Poor and Make Life Bearable

By Anwar Sadat
I am renewed, I am reinvigorated, now more than ever, I believe in the promise of our great nation, kenya.

For five years, we have witnessed the foundation of a working nation and a growing economy that would have provided meaningful employment for our youths, laid by Kibaki, Raila, and Kalonzo during their coalition government, destroyed by Jubilee and relathieves of those in power.

The effects of their mismanagement is clear to all of us: higher unemployment, stagnant economy, stagnant wages, higher inflation, higher prices of commodities, higher cost of education, poor healthcare care.

While the rich like the DP continue to buy multi-billion shillings hotels and investments in Kenya and Dubai; and the president continue to expand the wealth of his family by building Ports in their land, or buying malls in UAE, or his sister supplying metal containers for hundreds of millions of shillings, or his cousin buying curtains and re-carpeting Statehouse for billions of shillings, most Kenyans have been left at their mercies struggling with poverty and hardships. Kenyans are worse off today than they were five years ago. Their economic wealth has not improved despite trillions of shillings borrowed by the Jubilee, ostensibly to develop our nation.

Our policemen continue to live in houses not fit for human habitation, in which men and women are forced to share one room shanties. Our teachers continue to struggle, teaching kids sitting on stones, yet the government is spending billions to buy laptop toys, and distributing them to schools that has no running water or electricity.

Jubilee has failed in delivering their promise of a prosperous future. Instead, they have delivered higher debt, untold suffering, and death to Kenyans by poor priorities and corruption.

As Kenyans, we have the opportunity to change this on 8/8/17. Please Join us in NASA to form a government that will usher in, true transformation of our economic situation.

Congratulations to NASA, congratulations to Raila Odinga and the entire team. We are proud. I will roll up my sleeves to ensure that we change our country.

Let’s stand together Comrades to the end.

Hon Millicent Omanga LOCKED OUT of Jubilee Head Office, The Problem is Her Name that Starts with ‘O’

“They have locked me out and denied me access to the party Headquarters. They have locked the gate and are asking me what I want.Surely, what kind of intimidation? Kwani sisi sio wakenya in this Jubilee? Jubilee is not for a specific tribe and specific leadership. So this guard is asking me what I want here and he has been told to lock me out!!! I wish I knew and joined NASA.” – Millicent Omanga at the gate of Jubilee Party Headquarters in Pangani

Hon Omanga had led her supporters to the party headquarters to launch a complaint about the nominations.

She lost Jubilee nomination for Nairobi Woman Rep to Hon Rachel Wambui Shebesh.

Hon Wambui Shebesh got 91,766 votes, followed by Omanga with 53,734 votes and Karen Nyamu came third with 36,828 votes.

But Omanga who was seen wondering outside the gates of the party headquarters said the nomination process was not free and fair.

“I have come to launch a complaint, the election was shambolic. Shebesh played reverse psychology with Nairobians,” she said.

Omanga claimed that Shebesh stole the votes adding that she has video evidence that she won the nominations that were held on Wednesday and Thursday.

On Thursday, Omanga’s supporters disputed the results leading to chaos at Nyayo stadium tallying centre.

Shebesh had stormed the premises earlier over an alleged plot to rig her out of the Nairobi Jubilee primaries.

”I Will Defend Bomet Gubernatorial Seat, NASA is an Alliance of Many Parties”- H.E Governor Isaac Ruto

GOV RUTO – I WILL DEFEND BOMET GUBERNATORIAL SEAT.

Bomet Governor H.E Isaac Ruto has dismissed rumours circulating in social media forums claiming that he will not defend his Gubernatorial seat in the August 8 General Election.

Ruto who is NASA’s Co-Principal said he will seek re-election in the polls on Chama Cha Mashinani (CCM) party adding that those behind the rumour were his political detractors whom he said had sensed defeat.

The CCM party leader said he joined NASA as an equal partner with his fellow Co-Principals saying there was no superior co-principal in the coalition’s Pentagon team.

Speaking at Kitwek FM this morning Ruto urged residents of Bomet County and CCM supporters to ignore the rumour saying he will defend his seat in the election.

He said he was confident that he will triump against his rival, Sotik MP Joyce Laboso in the contest.

He clarified that NASA was a coalition of several political parties saying it was not a political party as claimed by Jubilee sympathisers.

Ruto said he will launch his campaign to defend his Gubernatorial seat on Saturday 6th, May at Bomet Green Stadium saying he will use the occasion to educate the people of Bomet and CCM supporters on the structure of NASA.

EXPOSED: TWO FACTORS that were Used to Determine The NASA Presidential Candidate, WHAT Hon Nyenze should Know !

By Kamasasa E

A section of Luhyas had hoped that Musalia would be the flag bearer in NASA.

Kambas had hopped too that Kalonzo would be given the flag to fly NASA.

Luos were solidly sure that Raila will clinch the NASA ticket.

Now, look here. The determinant factors were simply 2 for the flag bearer:

1. He must be well moneyed. Not just something less than 10Billions with himself. He must also be able to bring on board heavy financiers to bankroll the national campaigns against the jockey and well loaded Jubilee duo.

2. He must have numbers. Higher numbers starting from his ethnic Base. He must also have a huge national following and back up.

On those 2 factors in mind and keeping the NASA flag hopefuls on table, the man who came top on fulfilling those 2 requirements is Raila Odinga, followed closely by Musalia Mudavadi, third was Kalonzo Musyoka, fourth was Moses Wetangula and fifth Governor Isaac Ruto.
Musalia sacrificed his second position and opted to allow Kalonzo deputise Raila to avert any fall out in the NASA arrangement. Lets salute Musalia Mudavadi.

Let the entire country appreciate the choice of NASA in Raila Odinga. The Jubilee sympathisers are all over rubbishing the line up as crap. Some are making silly claims that Kenyans are fatigued to vote in Raila. How wrong are they! Tell them to shut up and vote for Uhuru. As NASA, we made our choice and must be respected. In fact it’s final.

It’s President Raila!

Hon Kivai SLAPS Hon Francis Nyeze With FACTS on WHY Kamba Will Rally Behind NASA Raila Kalonzo come August 8

Let’s put this to bed, once and for all.
By Bantu Kivai
NASA didn’t really have a different game plan. Endorsing Mundavadi would have looked safe, but he is a house negro, he doesn’t know much about the struggle outside the corridors of power, and he is painfully naive.

Weta is a better man, but he occasionally gets somersaults from his better half. Absolutely better half.

Kalonzo has grown up. He knows that ego doesn’t bring nduma on the table. He should have done what he just did ten years ago, and that would have saved us lotsa problems. He is double wiser, albeit not unscathed, as he got a good dosage from Kibaki before he was shrub-bed by Jubilee.

Kalonzo going for DP is a master gameplan because he is winning the love of many people who believed in him before 2007. It’s an important addition to his CV that he chose to put his weight behind RAO.

All said and done (or not), the most disturbing thing is the propaganda that Raila can never be president, even if he wins. I’d rate that as the biggest achievement by Jubilee, because it got many people swallowing the hook.

It doesn’t matter what anyone thinks. Jubilee has cluster-screwed this country and any option is better. (I should also point out to my MP, Michael Manthi that he will be dry-fucked by Jubilee come 8/8, and he will be the political prodigal son who will end up crying in the washroom).

We should also admit that the stakes are very high in this election. That is the biggest source of worry and fear for everyone. If NASA wins and the other side refuses to accept defeat, we will have zero options, absolutely zippo options. We have exhausted the two options we ever had; sharing power and going to the court.

There ain’t much reason to hold heaven high hope on the performance of the opposition, if elected. The least we know is that it is a better option, you like it or not.

Kenyans Should Reject Cellphone Surveillance

I am not,and never could be, an advocate of the surveillance state, but the Communications Authority of Kenya’s latest monitoring of cellphone use proposal may not be such a dumb idea. My thesis; such a dumb idea may actually be a clever ploy.

I grew up at a time where the rogue Kenya African National Union(KANU) single-party government invaded the privacy of our homes and our communication with impunity. Thankfully, most Kenyans have never heard of Rev. Lawford Ndege Imunde and his jailing for six years for an entry in his personal diary, which a policeman convinced a High Court Judge was sedition against the good government of Kenya.

There is a narrow point of law as to whether material that is never published can incite disaffection against government, but it is also useful to inform our children that a personal diary was a book people carried around into which they wrote personal thoughts and musings before Facebook, Twitter and Instagram came to curse Kenya.

What the story of Reverend Lawford tells me is that if we do not jealously guard our right to privacy we most definitely will suffer invasions of privacy by state actors. This is not an idle issue. It is the tendency of government officials around the world – since time immemorial (so please Kenyan officials do not take this personally) – to want to know what is going on up to your bedrooms.

George Orwell’s 1984 predicted, in 1948, the rise of a Big Brother state in which each citizen is constantly surveilled by ubiquitous high-technological means to the extent that even ideas and dreams are the subject of enquiry by the thought police.

Our Founding Fathers, the people who set this country off the slopes of poor governance and economic and social degradation, knowing that this tendency must be controlled took the deliberate effort of entrenching limitations on government’s power to snoop on its citizens. This is why Section 21 of the Independence Constitution – later section 79 and now Article 31 of the Constitution of Kenya protects communications from interference.

Kenyans have always had a right to privacy of correspondence, including when using telecommunication devices such as mobile phones. However, Kenyans must also be aware that if they had a choice, some would seek to do away with our constitutional right to privacy and freedom from interference with our correspondence. Going by what I have recently read, I understand Mr. Francis Wangusi, the Director General of the Communications Authority of Kenya, to be such a person.

Article 24 of the constitution is clear that any limitation to my right to privacy and freedom from interference with my correspondence must take the form of a law – which must explicitly state why this limitation is necessary and which constitutional provision is being limited. Nonetheless,I can see that I and many Kenyans who should have done more to stop its rise have allowed a creeping surveillance state to appear ostensibly to protect us from terrorists and other bad people. Thus I am filmed without being asked for permission each and every day on roads and as I enter buildings across Kenya. Kenyans accept CCTV without question, mostly on the dubious doctrine that only the guilty or criminal would object to security cameras. But a line must be drawn somewhere, and Mr. Wangusi has given us an opportunity to debate where the line really is.

Wangusi’s proposal extends the daily coverage to telecommunications and the internet by a bureaucracy eager to achieve a very dubious objective. Kenya’s telecoms regulator has apparently already taken on a contractor who will enable it, if Telcos agree to give this contractor access to their networks, to identify and block counterfeit mobile phones with fake IMEIs and thus ensure that no counterfeit cell phones can use Kenyan cellular networks.

That sounds fine until one asks; what role does the Communications Authority of Kenya have in ensuring that counterfeit consumer goods do not get used in the telecoms sector – perhaps this is a job for the Kenya Anti-Counterfeiting Agency, in liaison with cellular network providers? Just a thought. Actually, the Kenya Anti-Counterfeiting Agency is already working with cell phone manufacturers along the same lines.Google it!

Also research why in 2014, Vodafone (controlling owner of Kenya’s largest Telco Safaricom) reported that in Kenya technical (actually legal) limitations prevented direct access of the sort now sought by the Communications Authority of Kenya. This was revealed in a global report in which Vodafone revealed the existence in 29 of the countries it operates, of arrangements in which warrantless search and intrusion of intelligence staff in Telcos was a fact of life and business.

At this point the skeptical mind kicks in and one starts to look at Wangusi’s proposed contract through two lenses – Security and Dollars. Will it guarantee my security? I doubt it. As I will explain shortly, that part of the surveillance state’s claim of public good has already been captured by intelligence agencies, domestic and foreign which piously claim that I am daily prevented from harm by the warrantless data mining and recording that already goes on, most likely with the Communication Authority’s supine acquiescence and complete knowledge. Will it be a good use of my money? You must be joking! It is fairly obvious to the discerning that Kenyan taxpayers are being asked by Mr. Wangusi to pay a Lebanese company 2 million US dollars for absolutely no plausible beneficial reason.

Wangusi’s contract does not claim to be supported by any law, beyond the authority’s enabling statute. To his mind there are no constitutional issues at risk. He claims to have consulted the mobile network service providers (the Telco’s); whilst it is clear that he is unilaterally imposing a third party contractor on them against their will and advice to him. He even states that there is no need for public participation before he goes ahead. This guy needs to read our constitution. The constitution will show him that if he wants direct access to the Telcoms backbone and data centres then he needs a constitutional law to make this possible without arbitrarily invading the privacy of blameless Telco subscribers.

I have no idea and maybe even little interest in the bona fides of the contractor Wangusi’s fronting. In fact I know that what he is seeking is already being done, albeit illegally and by both Kenyan and foreign intelligence entities.

Edward Snowden revealed the American Mystic or Somalget programme which scoops up all Kenyan cellphone Metadata – i.e. who you call, text, send M-pesa to all day and all year long. In 2009, the UK’s, GCHQ, is known to have listened in to our former President Kibaki, Raila Odinga and even Chris Kirubi; proof I suppose that all are at risk of being spied upon. Only the snoopers or the willfully ignorant will claim to be unaware of the extent to which Kenyan authorities engage in domestic data harvesting exercises under the rubric of Counter Terrorism and Counter Narcotics law enforcement. On paper, Kenyan law requires such to be supported by court warrants, but we know that is not always the case.

Which is why I cannot figure out the necessity of Wangusi’s surplus intervention; unless there’s another motive. I can see it has rightly generated a groundswell of opposition, including sharp editorials and a court case or two, but I fear that we cannot see the forest for the trees. We are already under the constant eye of Big Brother, many of us extremely wittingly as we sign on to every mobile phone application known to man. What we think of positively as our national tendency towards quick uptake of technologies from abroad may actually be our Trojan horse (ever wondered why there are computer viruses called Trojans?).

But back to my main theses, follow the money. This apparently dumb idea may be a profitable one. I think that paying a firm 2 million US dollars to identify counterfeit phones is a complete waste of money by the Communication Authority which appears to have a mission creep approach towards its mandate. I would also hazard the opinion that the interest is more towards the 2 million dollar spend rather than an actual contribution to the arsenal of law enforcement tools. My point? What Wangusi wants done is already being done albeit surreptitiously and he knows this.

Mr. Wangusi is not even suggesting that he wants the National Assembly to legalise the surveillance he proposes. This is why Kenyans must not be swayed by his hysterical response to the media attention of last week. He knows that given enough time to consider the merits and demerits of his preferred procurement, Kenyans will say it is a complete waste of money and his time. The Telcos have already told him that they have the in-house capacity to detect bogus IMEI phones. The Kenya Anti Counterfeit Agency already has work in progress with phone manufacturers including Samsung. But since the motivation is rushed public procurement, which the communications authority is pushing as a matter of national urgency, Mr. Wangusi wants us to shut up and let him do what he wants with a third-party company from the Levant.

Nairobi, Kenya.

Uhuru man LAWYER Donald Kipkorir SHUTS DOWN Jubilee Bloggers, Confirms CONSTITUTION ALLOWS Raila NASA Proposed Positions

By Donald Kipkorir

Kenya’s Constitution Allows Office of Premier Cabinet Secretary

There is ongoing debate as to whether under our Constitution , we can have an office called Premier Cabinet Secretary or other titles other than Cabinet Secretary.

My answer is YES. Our Constitution lays out the framework of our governance and aspirations. The use of names or words in the Constitution is not a limitation on our imagination and experimentation. To say usage of words restricts our legal thought is legal terrorism.

Our Constitution like any other in the world is interpreted expansively, purposefully and with a view to extending the frontiers of our civilization.

The US Constitution is barely Seven Articles only and one can read it in less than 15minutes. Yet, it hasn’t stopped US creating all manner of offices and expanding legal thought.

Two Schools of thought exist in Constitutional interpretation: Literalists also called Originalists and those that say the Constitution is a living document and its meaning is liberal.

Our Constitution makes the President, repository of executive power and he can donate it to anyone under any title. The Constitution also allows the President to create ant office under advise of Public Service Commission. It is why we such offices as Head of Civil Service et al.

Our Constitution should be read and interpreted for all times, and not to fit the narratives of either Jubilee or NASA. Political Parties in Kenya have shelf lives. But Kenya is eternal. Our Constitution belongs to all Kenyans and serves all. Each Kenyan, and each Party is at liberty to take advantage of its infinite opportunities and choices.

BREAKING: Kajiado Senator Hon Mositet DUMPS Uhuru Jubilee, BLAMES DP Ruto for Masai Community Defection to ODM/NASA

Kajiado senator Peter Mositet has resigned from Jubilee Party after losing to Philip Mpaayei in the Jubilee primaries.

Mositet, who is blaming Deputy President Wiliam Ruto for his loss, has however maintained that he will be on the ballot come August and will join the Masai community in NASA.

“This man, who was supported by Ruto, never had a single political rally in any of the sub-counties except in Central constituency. So how can someone who is not known by anybody win the nomination if there was no rigging,” claimed Mositet.

He was accompanied by Tarayia ole Kores, who lost to Joseph ole Lenku in the governor’s nominations.

The two leaders were addressing 500 delegates from the five sub-counties of Kajiado at Mositet’s residence in Kiserian.

On Wednesday, Mositet and Kores rejected the Jubilee Party nomination results.

They said the results were “cooked” to “favour a certain lineup led by one governor aspirant”.

Mositet, who was thrown out of the tallying centre at Maasai Technical Training Centre by police on the instruction from poll officials on Wednesday evening, said the exercise was a sham.

Philip Mpaayie was announced the winner for the Senate ticket with 62,067 votes against Mositet’s 52,022.

Former Interior CS Joseph ole Lenku won the governor ticket with 88,105 votes against Kores’s 37,690.

Gitau Parsimei who lost to Joseph Manje in the Kajiado North Parliamentary nominations was also present.

Kores and Parsimei also quit JP and promised to follow Mositet to “wherever he will go”.

The trio promised to make a major announcement on Friday afternoon when they meet residents in Kiserian town.

Kores claimed Ruto urged him “many times” to settle for a senate position instead of contesting against Lenku but he refused.

“I told him that the position of senator was intact with Mositet and there was no way I could oppose my friend. He promised to show me fire, and today I have realised what he meant. He interfered with Kajiado nominations,” claimed Kores.

CELEBRATIONS as SONKO led Team Nairobi SWEEPS Jubilee Tickets in the Capital City humiliating Peter Kenneth Badly

Senator Mike Sonko celebrated his win in the just concluded Jubilee party nomination for Nairobi governor. He beat Uthamaki’s preffered candidate Peter Kenneth by amargin of about 75,000 votes.

Sonko garnered 138,185 votes, while Kenneth came a distant second with 62,504 votes. Bishop Margaret Wanjiru earned 7,654 votes.

Kiharu MP Hon Irungu Kangata had advised Bishop Wanjiru to try MCA and indeed as per the results the good Bishop would have found it tough securing a Jubilee nomination slot in any of the Nairobi wards.

Sonko will face off with incumbent NASA/ODM’s Governor Evans Kidero in the August 8 polls.

Earlier on, Kenneth had cried calling for a repeat of the nominations, saying the process was not free and fair.

“I disassociate myself from the sham election that Jubilee Party purported to have and demand the same elections be nullified,” he said in a statement on Thursday.

The former Gatanga MP complained that some people were allowed to vote despite their names missing in the registers while others were denied the chance.

The party said they had received reports that there were people who infiltrated Nairobi primaries.

Elections board chairman Andrew Musangi said this was the reason most people could not find their names in the register

OPEN LETTER TO NASA PRESIDENTIAL NOMINEE- Rt Hon Engineer Raila Amollo Odinga

By Jackson

Let me begin by congratulating you on your nomination as your coalition’s flagbearer. I write to you in my capacity as a citizen and a staunch supporter of your political body of work. Sir, as odd as it may sound, clinching the nomination was the easy part, what lies ahead of you is one of the most daunting of tasks! I possess no political clairvoyance and I certainly do not claim to be an evangelist of political smarts. But it’s my patriotic and the unflinching belief in the struggle that has inspired this letter.

Its on the strength of the aforementioned premise that I wish to pencil the dos and donts in this election season. The political landmines are just feet away from explosion. And I mean items, words and behavior that can turn the race upside down.

In American political lore, there is the story of the folks who created P.U.M.A, which stands for People United Means Action. It was a political action committee formed by supporters of Hillary Clinton during the 2008 Democratic primaries. They believed that Hillary was the people’s choice and having won the biggest states like Ohio and Florida, they argued that Senator Obama was just a political poseur out to torpedoe their candidate’s march to the White House.

But as time went by, it became clear that Senator Obama’s delegate lead was insurmountable and what followed was a belabored concession speech and a painstakingly choreographed political parlay to iron out the differences between both camps ahead of the convention in Denver. Unbeknownst to Team Obama, Hillary’s support was just that – hers. Her supporters were still not onboard and P.U.M.A quickly changed to Party Unity My Ass!

It took unprecedented efforts from Team Clinton to pacify her supporters. PUMA closed shop in 2011. But in 2016, Team Clinton never recovered from the primary battle against Senator Sanders. This time, Party Unity became elusive with devastating consequences!

Sir, now that you are the chosen one, it will be foolhardy to assume that those behind your co- principals are automatically sold or onboard. There are folks who campaigned and lobbied for their leading lights and today’s verdict is clearly incongruent to their wishes. They will still fall prey to Statehouse political cognoscentis predictable overtures and political bidding. Expect a wall- to- wall carpet bombing from the other side.

In fact, they have started to poke holes on your arrangement. Citing constitutional barriers, afew doppelgangers flooded social media with blistering attacks on the new offices to be created in a NASA government. Expect more pointed attacks like this to be directed at your co- principals, especially the ones whose portfolio will be debuting in the NASA government.

Since this political chess move mirrors the 2002 manoeuvre, Musalia Mudavadi is now squarely on their crosshairs, they will try to entice and persuade him to do what he did in 2002 hoping that he didn’t learn anything from the 2002 snafu. Your job will be to reassure your teammates and masterfully counter Jubilee.

Sir, remember that you are running against two individuals who complement each other almost to perfection. The president’s forte is provoking anger by playing victim and icing the cake by shooting from the hip in vernacular. His deputy’s strong suit is a knack for verbal gymnastics and sometimes spewing narratives that are a thousand acres away from the truth. The upshot? The two, combined, make a devastating political weapon. And that is why you must carefully choose your words on the hustings.

The following MUST not feature in your speeches: Land, ICC, jail, historical injustices, post election violence andTJRC. Here is why.

The folks who own Kenya have vast pieces of land and the last thing that they want to see or hear is someone or something that will fundamentally change what they have or own. They will stop at nothing to ensure that they protect those who protect them. 2007 Presidential contest is exhibit A.

Any talk about jail will be heard and interpreted by some very powerful folks that you still harbour a personal vendetta against those who detained you without trial. They will stop at nothing to ensure that you don’t get there lest you revenge! Ever wondered why a certain Senator’s support is always elusive despite the fact that his party sent an emissary ( Nick Salat) to grace NASA functions?

The letters ICC must not feature in your lexicon. Remember that the cases were suspended (not terminated) due to lack of cooperation from the government, meaning that if a ‘friendly’ government takes over, the general assumption is that they might cooperate with the ICC and just like that, all hell will break lose! Should you win the election, it will be upon the current occupants to handover power to you and it’s anyone guess whether they will be willing to give someone whose rhetoric echoes the ICC.

TJRC, historical injustices etc are important issues that should be addressed but it’s also important to note the emotional weight that they carry. Using these items as a cudgel in this election will elicit unnecessary tension in certain communities and further expose you to more innuendo.

It’s not smart to hand the deputy President a low hanging fruit that he can easily flip into another MAU forest or how you plotted to ship them to the ICC. He is the best in this business bar none and his 2013 performance should go down as Josef Goebbels political innuendo 101.

Make this election a choice between Jubilee’s economic record and what you are offering. Keep it about the economy and healthcare. More jobs for the youth and sharp message of a life after the dark days of the Jubilee regime.
Remind Kenyans that they deserve better because they have now seen what Jubilee has done, it’s time for a different direction. No Kenyan should ever be exposed to the catastrophe that is the Jubilee administration. Ever again. Go for it.

Yours truly,

Nicco Machiavelli
