Joint Statement by the U.S Ambassador and the UK High Commissioner on the murder of IEBC’s official

The United States and the United Kingdom are gravely concerned by the murder of IEBC’s Systems Development Manager Christopher Msando. We extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends and the entire IEBC team. It is critical that Kenya have free, fair, credible and peaceful elections on August 8, and protection for IEBC staff is essential to achieving this goal. We welcome the Government of Kenya’s commitment to investigating the murder. We have offered our assistance in the investigation.

You know the story never ends well when the Police say “he was last seen at 10.00 pm in the company of a female companion”. It’s a really bad Titanic-esque script where everyone can predict how the movie will end. Chris Musando just happened to be the guy who is in charge of the KIEMS ICT security infrastructure that is designed to stop the hacking of IEBC’s computerized election system. The system can apparently only be hacked or tampered from within by an agent provocateur.

Chris is one of the three individuals who has all the codes and security protocols for the IEBC system. His boss James Muhati – one of the other fellas who knows the codes was recently sent on compulsory leave, making Chris the Acting ICT Manager. The third fella – who is now clearly the de facto ICT Manager – is Alex Kioni, a security consultant whose story with IBM, one of the security contractors is as dodgy as IEBC’s reputation.

So, they found Chris’s car either in Roisambu or TRM whichever version you believe. I suspect they’re eventually going to find him around 9th or 10th of August, having consumed industrial strength “mchele” and has only recovered and found himself stark naked and robbed of his possessions at a flat in Kahawa Sukari or something.

Meanwhile, all this drama is designed to help people forget that IEBC and Al Gunia printed 900,000 extra Presidential ballot papers. Of course, they’re saying this is normal. Kenyans are inherently stupid and we have to account for spoilt ballots and give voters additional ballot papers to vote again. Since they’ve messed up the first ones, we’ll even be helpful and give them one of the green house stock that is prefilled for them.

In other news, the story of a machete wielding hawker who engaged the elite Recce Company in an 18 hour battle continues to dumbfound the sensibility of folks. Chuck Norris armed with a machete that can slap bullets away couldn’t have done what this hawker managed I tell you.

Have an intriguing day good people.

Why Boniface Mwangi is the next MP for Starehe

latest opinion polls show Boniface Mwangi enjoying a comfortable lead over Jubilee’s Charles Njaguar aka Jaguar and Steve Mbogo of Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).

Unlike Boniface Mwangi, Jaguar and Mbogo have never fought for anything. They have never protected any public good other than their own stomach infrastructures. Bonny has fought for a lot and in the process, he has been harmed and detained in police cells.

One of the reasons why Bonny is expected to win Starehe is the dirtied past of his main competitors. Steve Mbogo has a chain of pending cases in court. From Drug peddling, tax evasion, money laundering to defilement/rape, this is a man who inspires no confidence among the people he seeks to lead.

For Jaguar, he has a blemished past. His Range Rover ran over two innocent humans, killing them instantly.

To add insult to injury, the musician denied the allegations and the case went to court where its outcome is unclear.

It is yet to be seen whether the family of the victims will get justice or otherwise. Jaguar is a ‘State-sponsored’ candidate. He is a project of Mike Sonko.

The agenda he champions is that of Mike Sonko. If indeed he wanted to show leadership, he would have ensured the two families whose loved ones were killed by his Range Rover get justice. As of now, the word justice is alien to them.

For Boniface, he is a man of admirable character. His past is untainted. He has fought for the common Mwananchi. He has confronted regimes through various tactics including the use of pigs to ensure the message is well delivered. He has fearlessly confronted the police and passed the message in a courageous way.

This is the man that the people of Starehe want. This is the man who will redeem the people of Starehe and restore their dignity and respect.

STAREHE CONSTITUENCY: Boniface Mwangi Expected to be elected MP, latest opinion polls show

If elections were held today in Starehe Constituency, renowned activist Boniface Mwangi of Ukweli Party would beat his opponents Charles Njagua Kanyi of Jubilee Party and Steve Mbogo of Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).

According to the research conducted by Nairobi Youth Leadership Initiative (NYLI) between 24th and 30th July through Face to face and door to door interviews using computer assisted personal interviews (CAP), Boniface popularly known as Bonny leads with 37.4%.

Musician Njagua alias Jaguar is second with 32.1%.

Steve Mbogo is third came third with 22.3%.

Researchers used the IEBC voter register and the sample was designed using population proportionate to size (PPS).

NYLI is an initiative of young professionals in Nairobi from various political parties.

Here are tough questions surrounding Musando murder that only MOSES KURIA can answer

Even as we mourn the death of IEBC IT manager Chris Musando, there are many questions that can only be answered by Jubilee’s Moses Kuria.

Although going by the nature and history of this country, only God will punish whoever killed chris because no killer has ever been brought to book.

However, the question remains,
1. Why was his hand cut before he was killed?

2. Were his fingers the only password to Iebc machines?

3.Who was this woman accompanying him?

4.If the police could not trace his car, how come moses kuria was the first person to locate it at 2:30am?

5.Where was he going?

6.How did he know that was musandos car? Why dont we have records of the police who took the body to city mortuary?

7. Why is it that there is no records of the person who received the body.

8. What were police doing in kikuyu forest to discover musandos body? What led them there and not Ngong, Karura or any other forests.

NASA STATEMENT ON THE KILLING OF IEBC ICT CHIEF CHRIS MSANDO

Chris on television last week assured Kenyans that they need not worry about the KIEMS system as he was sure it would work.

That no effort was made to camouflage[SL1] this killing as an accident shows the determination of the killers to send a chilling message that they will stop at nothing to ensure the outcome they desire.

Despite our grave concern about the implications of this murder and other recent developments, NASA would like to re-emphasize and reiterate its commitment to participate in the general election on 8th August. As we have saying repeatedly on the campaign trail, our supporters must turn out in large numbers without fear, as there are too many of us and we cannot be intimidated.

On the 9th of August, there will be a NASA government and all Kenyans, whether belonging to NASA, Jubilee or any other party, will be assured of the fullest protection of their security from then onwards.

We urge the IEBC Commissioners to soldier on and redouble their determination to provide Kenyans with the most transparent election in our history.

We have only one demand: this election must meet the constitutional requirement of a free, transparent and credible election.

NASA STATEMENT ON THE KILLING OF IEBC ICT CHIEF CHRIS MSANDO

NASA condemns in the strongest possible terms the assassination of Chris Msando, the Deputy Director in charge of the IEBC’s Data Centre. We express our profound sorrow to his wife, family and loved ones, as well as to all Kenyans who have been horrified by this heinous murder meant to subvert our democracy.

In his multiple capacities, Chris was responsible for the entire body of electoral data that is the basis of next month’s election, including the Kenya Integrated Election Management System (KIEMS). That includes voter identity verification, results transmission and the entire electronic tallying process.

Chris Musando’s brutal killing was an attempt to drive a dagger into the heart of the forthcoming election, and indeed a dagger into the heart of Kenyan democracy. But we are totally confident that this terrible crime will accomplish the opposite and strengthen all Kenyans’ will to demand a free, fair and credible election.

It is painful for us in the extreme to have to report that Chris was severely tortured. We do not at this moment wish to add to the anguish of his family by giving more details.

Chris on television last week assured Kenyans that they need not worry about the KIEMS system as he was sure it would work.

That no effort was made to camouflage[SL1] this killing as an accident shows the determination of the killers to send a chilling message that they will stop at nothing to ensure the outcome they desire.

RAILA is the right man for the job

By J. Mandago

I have seen guys laughing that some Kenyans are running away from towns such as Nairobi, Nakuru, Eldoret because they fear violence. Those running are most likely Raila voters and this may affect the outcome of the elections with Jubilee winning.

This is unlikely and after the events of 2007 and 2013, many Kenyans did take their voter’s card in their rural homes, obviously factoring violence but also to vote for their kin and friends.

But even so, just like Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Madago sain while in Langas Eldoret, this election is not for Raila or Luos’s to lose. It is for Kenyans.

If the last four years have been good for you, then you can elect Jubilee back. But if you were affected by teacher’s strike, doctor’s strike, nurses strike, lecturer’s strike, if you were affected by the corruption at the ministry, if the government anti-NGO stance led you to lose your job, if opening the gates to Chinese goods saw your company close shop and move out of Kenya, if the failing shilling affected your import business, if the price food affected you, you should vote for change.

Jubilee were hardly on the news for doing something right, except for the paid-up advertisements. From the day one, the public appointments were one sided (favouring the only two communities in government) the corruption runaway, best exemplified by a powerful government official trying to grab a public-school land and teargassing school children for protesting. There was NYS, there was a lot of land grabbing. The SGR was scandalously overpriced. Ministry of health. Eurobond. The maize scandal. You name it.

Another five years of this mediocrity just because you don’t like Raila is the height of stupidity. When your businesses suffer because you can’t access a loan, will you still blame Raila? When land is grabbed, more scandals are unearthed, will you still blame Raila?
Laugh all you want at the prospect of NASA losing, but you will be counting your losses shortly after things go awry. For you are certain they will.

Dorcas Sarkozy; the plot to rig is so desperately laughable, more popcorn…

I am actually frustrated with the “if the election is not credible, there will be no peace” narrative. But not for the reasons that most think. I’m frustrated because it is simplistic. The problem will not be a botched election. The problem will be that elections were the last option that Kenyans had to finally start the country on a path of social inclusion and dignity for most Kenyans, but the ruling class will have decided to take away even that.

My friend Lewis Gordon explains that oppression is the failure of options. To be a slave is to have no options. The slave cannot appeal to courts, to the church, or to the rule of law because the essence of slavery is to not be recognized by these institutions. So the slave has two options: to remain a slave, or to fight back.

Now, we Kenyans have exhausted our options. We did independence in 1963. Then we did multi-party in 1992. The Ndung’u report in 2005. The coalition government in 2008. A new constitution in 2010. TJRC in 2013. In between, we had major incidents of violence which we have never resolved. Kisumu in 1969. Wagalla in 1984. Molo in 1992. Rift Valley in 2008. Assassinations, extrajudicial killings and police brutality. You have to give it to Kenyans. We have tried all the options available. We have written novels and been detained. We have demonstrated and have been tear gassed. Except for 2007, we have voted and accepted results we didn’t believe in. We have asked donors for funds to do activism. Supported the ICC process. But when we allowed Uhuruto on the ballot despite the court indictments, and when the Supreme Court bench walked out of the court after a 10 minute ruling, following an unconvincing victory of the very family we’ve been trying to get out of power all these decades, that was the end of all options except elections.

That was what I was trying to argue when I said “this is what accept and move on means.” Jubilee supporters naively asked us to accept elections as the only option left for change. And not because they really believed that elections would change anything. They already knew elections were not an option, since they gloated about the “tyranny of numbers.” They told us that the Kenyatta family is destined to exploit this country and that there was nothing we could do about it. Not even elections. So if Kenya erupts after the elections, it will erupt because elections were the last option remaining for peaceful change. And we can’t say we didn’t see this coming?
So with less than 7 days before they vote, Kenyans have been treated to a spectacle of incidents that would be rejected by Kenihood (or Nollywood) directors for being too far-fetched and implausible in their entertainment value.

Unfortunately, these events actually occurred!

The country has seen its defense forces (KDF) roped into an increasingly acrimonious presidential electoral politics.

This was followed by an attack on the supposedly fortified Sugoi home of the man “one heartbeat away from the presidency” – Deputy President William Ruto – by an ever-shifting description of events and number of assailants!

The telenovela that played out in the verdant confines of Sugoi this weekend was immediately followed by news that the electoral body’s information & communications technology (ICT) deputy director Chris Msando had “gone missing”.

Mr. Msando, to help those who may be suffering from vertigo given the perpetually-shifting State House storylines in the run-up to the elections, was filling in for his boss, ICT Director James Muhati. James, for his part, had been sent on a 30-day compulsory leave for “for not cooperating with the audit department”.

For some perspective, let’s consider the universal truism that one of the principal areas of concern vis-à-vis a rigged or compromised election is its IT infrastructure. This concern was underscored by the presence of several IT specialists in the just-arrived EU and US elections observation teams this week.

(On a side but frustrating note, actions items such as ICT systems check should have happened months ago and the last week before D-Day dedicated to routine maintenance and checks. This was fully illustrated during the 2012 US Elections between Barack Obama and Mitt Romney when the latter’s voter-tracking custom IT system (ORCA) crashed – on Election Day!)

Regarding the leaked memo detailing the role of the KDF in “safeguarding” the upcoming elections, the usually structured and rigid military chain of command & communication, under the weight of dueling explanations between its spokesperson (Joseph Owuoth) and SecDef/presidential relative Raychelle Omamo, collapsed like the Sigiri Bridge.

And all this was happening even as the ballots were arriving from Dubai’s Al Ghurair, a company on whose board seats yet another presidential relative and First Bro Muhoho Kenyatta.

Folks, there is no mistake deciphering the now-fully formed tea leaves:

Jubilee will do whatever it has to do to stay in power; this as fully evidenced by what the country has seen this last week including:

– A staged assault, this time on the residence of the DP, to rally the base AND gain some sympathy votes and God knows what else,
– Dragging the military down the very slippery and perilous slope of involvement in the ethnically-stratified Kenyan politics,
– The tried and true disappearing/intimidation of individuals, this time key IEBC personnel, critical to Jubilee’s survival,
– And the equally tried and perfected art of ballot-stuffing – thanks to the incumbent’s direct line to the ballot printer – in case additional blank ballots are needed!

What portends a darkness that should worry ALL Kenyans is Mr. Kenyatta’s obvious willingness to use deadly force to extend his term in office!

I say “obvious willingness” because of the already-accomplished militarization of the Kenya Police and now -eployment of Kenya Defense forces to supposedly “safeguard” the elections, CS Omamo’s meandering and conflicting explanation aside.

The Kenya Police has been restructured into a para-military fighting unit; a mission far-removed from its “Utumishi Kwa Wote” motto. Like his father and political mentor who unabashedly used the security forces to extend their stay in power, the apple that is Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta has NOT fallen far from the diseased trees of corrupt and greedy appetite for power.

Fellow Kenyans, the only thing standing between the rest of the country and the power-satiated Jubilee incumbency is US – You and I – a tipping point of Kenyans willing and ready to turn out on Election Day – in numbers so massive and relentless that any attempts to deny them their will to vote out Mr. Kenyatta and Mr. Ruto would be so obvious that it would compel the two to play it straight.

It recently happened in S. Korea in 2016 where a fed-up Korea ousted President Park Geun-hye.

It happened during Philippines’s 1986 “Yellow Revolution” under widow Corazon Aquino.

Brazilians recently ousted their corrupt President Dilma Rousseff and Venezuelans are just getting started pushing back against the maniacal government of Nicolas Maduro.

Finally, it happened in Kenya in 2002 when Kenyans, along with Raila Odinga, voted out the current president’s political sponsor Daniel Moi.

It CAN happen AGAIN on August 8 with enough Kenyans turning their back against the insatiable kleptocratic duo of Uhuru Kenyatta and William Ruto.

EXPOSED: IEBC Failled to Block Login Cridentials of Kidnapped ICT boss Msando

In working ICT administrative procedures, by now, IEBC should have moved with speed to block the cridentials of the ICT man who has disappeared and instituted a thorough audit of any interference with the voter register. The man may have been abducted by bad intentioned persons or could himself be compromised. We must act now.

SHAME!! “Chief JUBILEE propagandist MUTAHI NGUNYI is an academic fraud” Prof Kimaru reveals

By Reinard Kimaru

Mutahi Ngunyi was one of the most widely read newspaper columnists in the early 2000s. He got hold of Robert Green’s 48 Laws of Power (that manifesto of control freaks, maniacs and psychotic people), and he decided to be Kenya’s Robert Green. Robert Green is not a scholar and his best-selling book failed every scholarly scrutiny and his book was dismissed as well-marketed bullshit. It was not researched at all, and was super self-contradicting.

It is clear how poor he is a scholar or researcher. His most quoted book is 48 Laws of Power and Sun Tzu’s Art of war. He is also a big fan of that medieval creep, Niccolo` Machiavelli, who taught future politicians that immorality, dishonesty and killing of innocent people as being effective in politics.  With a few convenient Aesop fables, he became the ‘smartest’ political analyst.

A poor imitator and believer of Niccolò Machiavelli, Ngunyi believes in manipulation as the most effective strategy in grabbing and retaining power.  A brief background is key.

If you went to the University of Nairobi’s main campus, and studied Political Science, you would have known that Mutahi Ngunyi is a fraud. While working with FORD Foundation, together with a Zimbabwean Jonathan Moyo, they defrauded the NGO and both quit. Moyo went on to be Zimbabwe’s Minister of Information, (any surprise!) and currently the Minister of Higher and Tertiary Education. The two seem to like mediocre governments where their mediocrity can be tolerated.

In the late 2000s, his relevance would diminish. The Nation tried to resurrect his career, during the last elections, but by then everyone and their mothers had read 48 Laws of Power and Machiavelli, and everyone has access to the internet, so he could not boast exclusive ownership to knowledge. He was the right person for the Jubilee to use for a psychological prepper “tyranny of number” ahead of the rigging of the 2013 elections.

To dimwits and tribal chauvinists, he was political genius. Thinking individuals knew that that was a psychological manipulation move to justify the nefarious rigging that witnessed. Having been used in 2013, he would be rewarded “consultancy” services to the Ministry of Devolution when he was alleged to have received millions to paint the sky blue.

His relevance has been diminishing. Many Kikuyus and in deed anybody now know he is just a rent seeker who will say anything to be in the government payroll. His homosexual fixation with Raila Odinga is quite telling. He reads mischief in every truth Raila unleashes. Like most Central Kenya legislators of average IQ, his job description is to twist Raila Odinga’s message to portray him as an enemy of the people of Central Kenya. He has been leading the charge that Raila is not prepared for elections and only wants anarchy because he thrives in anarchy. Yet we know who thrives in anarchy in Kenya.

Lately he earns his keep from YouTube where he runs some shitty “Fort Hall School of Government”. Realizing that he is not getting any younger and bullshit has some age limit, he has employed some bimbos and some young men who are as charming as boiled cabbage somewhere in Nyeri, to peddle his half-baked, seriously stupid things that they camouflage in good language. But you look into the eyes of young men and women and Mutahi himself and you realise how desperate they are.

You wonder what will happen when Raila becomes the president on August 8. How will stay relevant. Or would that be the best time to move to some banana republic to peddle his nonsense where people have not read Sun Tzu, and Machiavelli.

Next time you see Mutahi Ngunyi in your timeline, delete, and ignore him until he disappears from our public conscience. Remember him as a man who defended a regime that was responsible for the worst corruption in the history of the world, of which he participated in the looting, as people died in hospitals because doctors and nurses were on strike, kids stayed home without teachers, the price of unga went through the roof, and many families slept hungry as the regime tried to make political capital out of the stage-managed misfortunes.

Any man who draws his inspiration from the most manipulative strategies should not be entertained, by any right thinking individual, whether they support Raila or not.

Exposed! More anti-rigging IEBC IT gurus expected to go missing for refusing to cooperate

Every IT guy out there knows that an IT system is only as secure as the individual managing it. An IT manager, and a senior one in that case, has escalated privileges and access to the system they manage. They can create records, edit records and even create users and even backdoors to the system. The news by IEBC that one of their senior IT managers is missing therefore means that the whole electoral management system might be compromised. That cannot be ruled out.

But again, Kenyans, being Kenyans, will receive the news tomorrow or any other day that the guy was found drinking with his friends and that everything is under control. And we will go back to our usual comfort zones, while Jubilee prepare to dance and make merry on compromised electoral processes!

If the missing person dies because of his jobs, it will prove that some job by their nature are very risky. The top IEBC jobs seem to end in disgrace. And Chebukati and Chiloba know too well should they fail to honour the wishes of Kenyans, they will end up so disgraced as their predecessors.

IEBC has been going from one shit-storm, to the next. There is something fishy about Chebukati, he can’t look anyone in the eye. The whole institution stinks and bereft of any credibility given their resistance to give Kenyans a credible election.

We have been watching every step, pronouncement, body language and move of IEBC, they are not ready to give Kenya a credible election.

As we wait and hope, however forlornly, that Musando is somewhere alive, the IEBC bosses should know that ukiona mwenzako akinyolewa, anza kutia maji.

Raila cracks whip on Willis Otieno axis

The appointment of NASA election Chief Agent James Orengo and his deputy Norman Magaya has predictably elicited strong reactions from within the NASA coalition and left a faction led by power broker Jimmy Wanjigi breathless.

The appointment comes against the backdrop of factional wars within the Raila presidential secretariat that had escalated to unbearable levels including a sustained tug of war for control of election campaign resources between old guards and newbies.

With the hindsight of having lost the 2013 election due to infiltration by state agents, compromised staff, and embezzlement of campaign resources, close advisors considered Wanjigi an outsider and a risk to Raila’s 2017 bid.
During the time the campaign was led by Willis, activity nearly ground to a halt as Willis introduced unnecessary red-tape which had Raila’s advisors speculating if these were deliberate acts of sabotage which were brought into the attention of the NASA principals.

The stand off eventually resulted in Raila Odinga ignoring advise from Jimmy Wanjigi and proceeding to execute the most significant shakeup of his presidential campaign when lawyer Willis Otieno was unceremoniously replaced as Head of the Secretariat and his position immediately taken up by Joe Ager.

The sacking represented a huge decline in the clout of Jimmy Wanjigi, popularly known as James Bond, around Raila Odinga. With Wanjigi’s guidance, Willis had, within a space of a few months, risen from relative obscurity to become the man responsible management for the 2017 presidential campaign.

Analysts opine that with the transition at the secretariat happening so close to the election date, it could be taken to mean that the faction led by power broker Jimmy Wanjigi had suffered its heaviest casualty.

With the approval of appointment of Orengo and Magaya as in-charge of NASA election agents, the final nail appears to have been hammered into Wanjigi’s coffin around Raila Odinga. Wanjigi had lately formed an unlikely alliance with Raila family members and made them his tools in the presidential campaign.

The presence of the Wanjigi faction was first felt when they attempted to duplicate and sneak projects into the NASA manifesto to include their targeted mega-projects. So powerful was the faction that their orders were carried out almost without question.

Raila now appears to have punctured Wanjigi’s influence by handing the critical Adopt-A-Polling-Station project to trusted allies.

In Memory of A good Man; The Day Big Kev Saved my Ass

By Ted Muthusi via FB

Once upon a time there was a new event at a restaurant near the yaya Center area.

The event had been organised by one of my friends new to events at the time. A new concept in Nairobi – speed dating.

I happily volunteered to be the emcee without knowing what I was getting into. The event kicks off to a slow start as the number of males did not balance with the females – so basically 5 guys were being vibed by like 15 women.

Awesome for the men, raw deal for the women.

The crowd was not amused at all after paying a good amount of cash. As an emcee you are meant to control a situation, but I was really in a panic. All the jokes I tried were seriously backfiring. I was sweating so much, it looked like i had been rained on. What the @#$& was I going to do.

Kev happened to walk in and in his nature, was curious to see how this type of event works. Immeadiately he picked up on the mood and could notice that those in attendance, though few -were not in a “friendly” space.

Kev quickly told me to give him the microphone and turned the event around on the spot. He rocked that microphone mpaka I was questioning myself on whether emcee-ing was really my thing.

I even started getting a tad bit jealous with thoughts of ” okay enough you freakin show off, give me the microphone back”. But realised that if I did, I would have been the prime target for a barrage of hot slaps.

An event organiser who comes to the rescue of a struggling emcee and also helps a competitor in the events industry to establish themselves. Who does that?

Kev I should have given you the little token I earned that day but hey, you didn’t look like you wanted it so I used it drinking myself to a stupor as I was still in shock.

What kind of person have we lost? Well there you have it. Peace dude. Thanks for saving my diabs that day. Rock on.

SAITAN is Real, We Are Supposed to beleive the Fake Attack on DP Ruto Home.

By Odumbe Isaak

Saitan is real I tell you. We’re supposed to believe that the home of the second most secure man in the 581, 309 sq. km of real estate that is Kenya was attacked by a machete wielding thug. A man whose family and assets are protected by the elite Recce Company who since the early 60’s have been trained by Israeli Special Forces. A man who is a heartbeat away from an institution and office that represents and symbolizes the unity and sovereignty of an entire nation. An institution and office – The Presidency – that will be protected at all costs.

A lone thug shoots an elite Recce Company officer at the DP’s home with his machete – Oh wait, maybe not. He got close enough to an elite soldier carrying an automatic rifle, a soldier who should understand that the only way he should lose his rifle is if it’s pried from his dead hand. The machete toting thug then shoots the officer for good measure and then looks for a hide out to fight to his death when the Calvary – and you know the entire trigger happy Recce Company are coming down to rain on you – checks in.

It takes 18 hours – think about that – 18 bloody hours to neutralize a lone ranger with a machete an 28 rounds of ammunition at best. Just to give you a comparison, consider the alternative response when some 4 terrorists attacked night revellers in London Bridge a few weeks ago. it took 8 minutes from the time the Sirkosky helo of the SAS Blue Thunder squad landed on Tooley Street for all the terrorists to be terminated with extreme prejudice. 8 minutes.

But for us, we have to go spraying bullets in the air – for what, I don’t know. Everyone in the world following this story by then could tell you that shooting in the air had absolutely no effect on a machete wielding lone thug who was holed up in a building still under construction in the compound. The only surprise is that after they killed him in that epic 18 hour battle, they didn’t find the NASA manifesto on the dead fella right along a letter of inspirational encouragement from Baba himself promising a special place for his soul in Canaan.

You know, every single day these two clowns come up with something even more stupid than the previous day. Whether it’s faking news and running them as BBC and CNN footage, or whether it’s providing Kenyans with more drama and vindio, I tell you na mbando. 10 days is a long time for political skulduggery.

Meanwhile, just in case anyone didn’t notice – Sugoi has just become the most secure green house in the country. While all of you were enjoying the movie and 18 hour man-hunt, other manenos were happening with choppers landing and security personnel and “equipment” being ferried to assist in the manhunt.

Have a dramatic day good people.

Exposed: IEBC CANNOT EXPLAIN Extra 1Million Ballots printed by AL Gurhair

Final tally of Registered Voters in the IEBC register:-
19,611,423
1% mark up = 196,115
Total Number of Ballots that should be printed, i.e. 101% of registered voters:
= 19,807,538

Total number of Ballot papers printed by IEBC
= 20,818,000
Extra ballots printed above the number of registered voters (20,818,000-19,611,423)
= 1,206,577 or 6.15%

Each booklet contains 50 leafs. So the number of booklets required for this election for the number of registered voters plus 1% extra
= [19,807,538÷50]=396,151 booklets.
Actual booklets delivered
= 416,360
Number of booklets above legally required booklets
=[416,360-396,151]=20,209 extra booklets.
This translates to 1,010,450 extra ballots, equivalent to 5% of registered voters.

UNANSWERED QUESTIONS

WHY DO IEBC:-
1) Print over 1 million extra ballots above the legally required number?
2) How are all the extra ballots going to be accounted for?
3) With a maximum of 700 voters per polling station, IEBC will require 14 booklets per station. An even number. There cannot be 100% turnout per polling station so the 1% is very well taken care of by the 14 booklets. How many books will be issue per polling station?
4) With the knowledge of about one million dead voters in the register, was there really a need to print these extra ballots?

Attack on DP’S home ‘a red herring’

Then on going armed attack on Deputy President William Ruto’s rural home in Sugoi home in Uasin Gishu County has been termed “a red herring” by security analysts.

Earlier this afternoon, gun men reportedly staged a raid on the heavily guarded home in an incident that has been variously described by media as a ‘terror attack’ and ‘a raid by gangster’.

Official information has been scanty but the speed at which police, paramilitary and military commandos have descended on the home has raised eyebrows with experts pointing to several tell tale signs of a ‘drill in progress’.

Kenyans will be asking why it took police several hours to get to Garissa when armed raiders a staged a raid at a campus in a real terror attack.

With Raila Odinga having surpassed Uhuru Kenyatta by double digits in latest polls, and the general election only eight days away, analysts have refused to rule out the possibility of creating a diversion to deflate NASA campaign pressure.

There are concerns that the incident is part of an elaborate scare mongering plot to invoke fear and migration of non-locals ahead of the election in areas that have shown signs of voting for NASA.

Observers are quickto add that the International Criminal Court did not shut down operations in Kenya and that outreach offices are keenly following political campaigns and collecting evidence of premeditated violence and other crimes against humanity.

DISTURBING QUESTIONS over Uhuru Plot to Use KDF in RIGGING Raila the Presidency Again

By Conrad Bosire

After reading the KDF dossier on domestic operations during elections (which the KDF has said is authentic but used out of context by NASA), some disturbing questions have come into my mind:

1. Why would anyone (military, civil, political, apolitical, tribal, non-tribal) think of cutting off water and electricity supply during an election or at any time?? This is the kind of stuff that goes on in a full-blown war zone!

2. If there is intelligence that justifies the planned military action, why is this not shared confidentially with the Security Committee of the National Assembly where the opposition is represented?

3. Why would there be a KDF deployment for domestic operations without parliamentary approval? I hate to say it but Raila is right on this one, the planned KDF operation is illegal without Parliament approval

4. Why would a Military that claims to be apolitical use code words like “RF” (Regime Friendly), “Tribe”and use this as a strict consideration when deploying teams for operations?

5. Why would we seek to politicise a military that has stood above the rest of the militaries in the region with regard to professionalism and a demonstrable record of political neutrality?

At least, and to the best of my knowledge, KDF has been out of active domestic politics. Not even in the darkest days of Kenyatta and Moi rule were the KDF deployed during political events like elections.

Which ever side you support, there are some lines we should not cross! Let us all remember that after the elections, we have a country to keep!!

Governor JOHO Statement Responding to Matiangi and Omamo over KDF Rigging Claims

MRS. OMAMO AND MR. MATIANGI; YOU ARE NOT REASSURING KENYANS

STATEMENT OF CONCERN ABOUT SECURITY SERVICES PLANS TO SUBVERT THE CIVILIAN ELECTION PROCESS

Article 241. (c) of the constitution of Kenya requires parliamentary approval for internal deployment of our Defence Forces.

Article 241 (b) further clarifies that internal deployment of the military can only be in circumstances of emergency or disaster.

In the document titled Operation Dumuisha Utulivu that the military spokesman has confirmed it’s authenticity, the line G of the revealed document referenced KD/OPS/SEC/1212 signed by a Lieutenant Colonel Muye states that “Deployment of NS already OJT at GT and the Coastal regions”. This means this irregular deployment is already ongoing at the coast

I wish to express my disappointment at the statement by the two cabinet secretaries for defence and interior, Mrs Rachelle Omamo and Mr Matiangi, for failing to completely address this serious issue.

They have failed to clarify

1. Why the procedure requiring parliamentary approval in internal military engagement was flouted and

2. How military personnel in civilian engagement armed with stun guns, tear gas canisters, knives, frequency jammers, cutting equipment and other crude assortments are securing the “national sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country”.

Recently, it has come to our attention that there are training camps in Shanzu. That training of military personnel is ongoing at the former private school grounds at Shanzu. We have spoken about how Intelligence officers in Mombasa have participated in the circulation of hate leaflets that are asking different groups to leave Mombasa.

It is not only wrong to deploy the military without parliamentary consent, but there is absolutely no reason for military officers in any civilian engagement to have state supplied stun guns, tear gas canisters, frequency jammers, riot clubs and whips. Or to receive training in “crowd control”.

We wish to demand

1. That the military class issue clarification on their neutrality in civilian processes.
2. That the political appointees Rachel and Matiangi calm down and engage the public in a meaningful manner.

I am deeply dissatisfied that Jubilee would choose to take this country down this dark path again. I wish to remind Jubilee, that they of all people should know that accountability extends beyond your presidential term. That this already legally fulfills the standards of “planning and coordinating” international standard crimes. I urge the president and his deputy to exercise caution. To learn from the lessons of the past and other jurisdictions. That in the long run Tyranny will always be vanquished.

And for my NASA brothers and sisters, remember that democracy is expensive. That in the words of Thomas Jefferson, “Eternal Vigilance is the price of liberty”. Viva Kenya, Viva NASA.

Thank you

“UHURU is in panic mode, RAILA is confident & composed, body languages confirm” Prof. Mwai Wachira

Uhuru, Raila body language

As campaigns get to the homestretch, the body language of Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga can tell much of what goes on in their mind while on the campaign trail.

Uhuru Kenyatta
He has taken a new style, he walks across podium while talking, more like a Hip hop artist working up the crowd. He rarely stands still and keeps pointing at the crowd with his finger, he seems angry with someone or something. He looks restless, hurling insults such as kimundu and muguruki at his main rival. When in a friendly county like Kirinyaga, he will come to live and laugh gaily when the crowd shouts minji minji. He is a good public speaker in 3 languages but has not taken advantage of the same. His supporters have been heard asking what happened to the cheerful leader who swept them off their feet in 2013.

His high school class master might have made this remark on his report card: A fidgety lad, quick to anger, has a sense of misplaced entitlement.

Raila Odinga
He stands still while talking, more like the country/Jazz musician, he makes body movement with his head and shoulders, he will occasionally bend forward or backwards to drive the point home. He is at ease with crowds, more like the fish is with the water. He will occasionally crack jokes and laugh along, crowds mostly love him for his riddles or vitendawili. When in good mood, his football like commentaries throws the crowd in frenzy. He is not very eloquent and stammers at times, but his supporters have taken this in their stride and seem to love him more.

His high school class master might have written this on his report card: A hardworking lad, very popular with his classmates, but he has deep mistrust of the authorities.

Do we have body language experts in the house who can shed more insight?

Purpoted “Attack” on Ruto Sugoi home is a diversionary tactic from millitary poll rigging debate

By G. Oguda
Deputy President William Ruto’s home, in Sugoi, is a protected area. It has the second highest security surveillance after that of the President. It is guarded by the elite Recce squad. They’re trained to kill, one shot one kill.

They don’t miss their targets, they are trained for close combat. They’re trained to fight without weapons, they’re the best fist-fighters, arm-wrestlers, and knee-knockers. You cannot take away a Recce officer one-on-one. They’re bad news.

In the unlikely event that anyone breaches security at the Deputy President’s home, the government has made sure that help is within a fighting distance. Deputy President’s home is 15 minutes off the Moi Barracks in Soy, Uasin Gishu. And if the infantry in Soi need backup, they have the Kenya Defence Forces Recruits Training School (RTS), right under their noses, down the road.

If the combined Commando team of Moi Barracks and the freshers at RTS need artillery to take to Sugoi, they have the Kenya Ordinance Factory, the official bullet manufacturing factory in Kenya, 20 minutes off their cross-hairs.

There is no way an ordinary madman can attempt to hold anyone hostage at the Deputy President’s home in Sugoi. Not even Chrispinus Adhiegra can dream of going to Sugoi for mischief. Not today, not forever.

Anyone who goes to the Deputy President’s home in Sugoi to test the size of his balls, is is a candidate for target practice even before he makes his way 2 kilometres into the vicinity.

But someone has done so, and is holding people hostage inside that military installation.

“Kenya ina upungufu ya wajinga.” – William Ruto, 2014.

Breaking! CNN, BBC say the StateHouse-cooked videos in Kenya where they purportedly endorse Uhuru are FAKE

The Kenyan 2017 Presidential Election will be remembered by the arrant amount of ‘fake news’ and propaganda that spiraled out of control on social media, with reputable international institutions and personalities constantly having to deny involvement as backing either side, mostly the Jubilee side.

So far, letters and memos authored purportedly by reputable organizations like the US Institute of Peace, non-prof organization Vanguard Africa, European Union, Africa Union to now videos purportedly done by media entities like CNN and BBC have all been produced and shared online in a bid to mislead gullible Kenyan voters – and they are many – into voting for either side.

NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga has been the victim of most of the fakeries, which often either purport to endorse President Uhuru or warn Kenyans against voting for Raila.

There is also a full propaganda website – therealraila.com – that also runs dirty propaganda on the NASA Presidential candidate.

While most organizations initially ignored whenever fake letters or memos were authored on their behalf, CNN and BBC appear to be breaking with this past, with the two media houses openly calling the purported videos now doing rounds on Kenyan social media space endorsing President Uhuru as “fake news” and warning the public against believing them.

WHY Raila NASA Promise to Single Mothers is a Game Changer in this Year Election, Just BRILLIANT!

By S Nyanchwani

At last someone who cares about single mothers

Often single mothers are objects of derision. They are blamed for all the ills in society: deviant children, burning of schools, street children, traffic jams, corruption, troublesome grown up women and (insert your favourite ill.)

What is less celebrated is how single mothers struggle daily to be mum and dad for their children. It is not an easy job raising children as single parent.

There are millions of single mothers in Kenya. Save for a few feminists who are single by choice a majority of single mothers found themselves in the situation because the man who scattered the wild oats disappeared. Some are widows. A good number equally left abusive marriages or deadbeat men.

But motherhood, unlike fatherhood is a labour of love, divine and absolutely necessary for the wellbeing of children. Not to say that fatherhood is not essential but some men are moronic and ever ready to shirk their responsibilities.

Usually it is a life of misery. That is why Raila Odinga’s promise is a briliant idea. It should be embraced, more so by women from Central Kenya who are most affected. No region in Kenya has more single mothers Central Kenya. The province’s youth have been neglected by the rich and powerful leaders. No single leader from Central Kenya has ever come up with a policy to address the myriad challenges facing them.

Raila has offered the first ever political commitment to cushion single mothers. To trivialize it as cheap politics is stupid.

If you are a single mother, you know who has your best interest in his heart. The problems single mothers face cannot be addressed by simple PR and the never-forthcoming loans from the government to the youthe and women.

Single mothers are an instituitionalized family unit. They need all the help from the government. Only Raila can see to it that they can access affordable housing, access to business loans, healthcare and education.

KDF Confirms Raila Does Not Lie, he was right on Uhuru plot to use the Army to Rig Elections

By Oketch Okoth Patrique

Kenya Defence Force (KDF) spokesman Joseph Owuoth has confirmed authenticity of documents presented by National Super Alliance (NASA) on operation Dumisha Utulivu by military. However, he said they were quoted out of context and military was apolitical and professional at large.

The very fact that the military has confirmed authenticity of the presented documents is a red flag in itself. Claims by the spokesperson that they are apolitical is total swinewash.

If the military is non partisan, professional an outfit that is apolitical then why are they being deployed for duties in a civilian exercise.

State House in panic as latest opinion poll puts Raila ahead with 56% against Uhuru’s 40%

If elections were held today, NASA’s Raila Odinga would beat Uhuru Kenyatta in first round.

According to the opinion polls conducted by Infotrak, NASA leader Raila Odinga got a 56 per cent rating and Jubilee Party leader Uhuru Kenyatta 40 per cent.

Uhuru was followed by Mohammed Abduba Dida (Tunza coalition), Joe Nyaga rated at 0.5 per cent, Michael Wainaina and Ekuro Aukot at 0.1 per cent.

It was reported in February that Jubilee and the opposition shared new voters almost equally in the just-ended voter registration.

An analysis of voter numbers released by the IEBC showed Jubilee strongholds led opposition zones by less than 50,000.

Data was collected through face to face interviews from July 15 to 22. The research involved 15,000 respondents and had a 95 per cent degree of confidence.

vans Kidero and Mike Sonko have tied at 45 per cent support in the city governor race, an Infotrak poll has found, just 10 days to the general election.

Incumbent Nairobi Governor Kidero is an ODM candidate while Senator Mike Sonko is in Jubilee party.

Independent candidate Peter Kenneth came third at 3.3 per cent and was followed by Miguna Miguna at two per cent.

More on city politics: Sonko, Kenneth neck and neck, Kidero still leads in Nairobi governor race – Infotrak poll

In the senator race, half of the Nairobi population will vote for Johnson Sakaja, who was found to have 50 per cent support.

Sakaja will be followed by ODM’s Edwin Sifuna at 28 per cent and Suzanne Lenge at 1.5 per cent. Twenty per cent Nairobians are yet to decide who to vote for.

For the woman representative, the poll found Esther Passaris of the orange party will get 61 per cent votes and will be followed by incumbent Rachel Shebesh at 28 per cent.

Shebesh was followed by Rosemary Wairimu at 0.5 per cent and then came Theuri Khadija and Winnie Wainaina at 0.3 per cent.

Rahab Ndabuki and Omolo Teresia followed at 0.2 per cent and then came Nadya Khan at 0.1 per cent.

In the popularity of coalitions, Infotrak reported that the National Super Alliance has 54 per cent support while President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee Party has 38 per cent.

Breaking: KDF Admits Raila was Right over Plans to RIG General Election

@NATION BREAKING NEWS:

KDF now admits NASA documents on ‘Operation Dumisha Utulivu’ AUTHENTIC but quoted out of context, Spokesman says, adding Army is APOLITICAL. (See comment section below).

Folks, DP Ruto already dismissed Raila Odinga ealier on Friday afternoon. But we all know they always keep referring to Raila revelations as dossiers and witch-hunt until TRUTH parades itself!

Just A question!!!!
In a highly secretive KDF meeting discussing whatever you may call it, all the information including written evidence lands at Raila Odinga’s table within hours.
Does it mean even the KDF wants change???

Well, with KDF admitting that the documents used by Raila Odinga today are AUTHENTIC, rest assured that the Credibility and Honesty nursery upon which Raila Odinga’s Political and Leadership CHARACTER was manured is now tried and tested, and will be put to BETTER use come 9th August, 2017.

KDF members are our brothers and sisters. More often than not we meet in our parents’ rural homesteads and attack githeri or omena together. Let’s all cross to Canaan together!

If Raila Odinga tells you that your wife or girlfriend is pregnant, don’t question! Start buying pampers!

Kisumu Senator and ODM’s Kisumu Gubernatorial Aspirant Prof Peter Anyang Nyong’o while launching his Manifesto enumerated his 10 point agenda which geared towards making Kisumu begin to fly with the eagles and stop walking with the chicken as has happened in the last five years under the County government.

The central focus of his manifesto is to create jobs through sustainable developments in agriculture, industry and the service sectors.

His agenda aims at putting the youth and women at the centre of inclusive development, with clear plans to achieve the following:

I. Revitalize agriculture for food security and agribusiness;

II. Ensure a healthy population living in a clean environment;

III. Build modern physical infrastructure;

IV. Promote skills development and innovation;

V. Conserve the environment while opening the Kisumu lakefront for business;

VI. Provide decent housing in inclusive towns, semi-urban centres and villages;

VII. Promote sports, culture and the arts;

VIII. Promote industrialization and a vibrant service sector, supported by sustainable energy sources and information and communication technologies;

IX. Promote tourism driven by culture and heritage as well as new products;

X. Deepen the structures of devolved governance and strengthen revenue generation and accountability in use of public funds.

Prof Nyong’o remains to be the surest bet for Kisumu Gubernatorial seat, a proven doer, global think tank, Devolution champion and above all strict on all Components of Governance.

BREAKING: NASA Appoints James Orengo Chief Agent at IEBC National Tallying Centre-Bomas

Media Release
Nairobi 28th July, 2017

NASA NAMES SENATOR JAMES ORENGO AS CHIEF AGENT

The National Super Alliance (NASA) has announced the appointment of Senator James Orengo as the coalition’s Chief Agent for the forth coming Presidential and General Elections. Senator Orengo will be deputised by NASA CEO Norman Magaya who will also serve as the alternate Chief Agent.

In a statement today, the Head of Operations and Delivery of the Raila Odinga Campaign Secretariat, Mr. Joe Ager, said the coalition had already submitted the name of Sen. James Orengo and Mr. Magaya to the IEBC.

Mr. Ager added that the early appointment of Senator Orengo as the NASA Election Chief Agent represented a critical part of the overall state of preparedness for the Presidential and General Elections on 8th August 2017. He said that the appointment of constituency and polling station agents was also at an advanced state.

“The coalition is ready for the 8th August 2017 general elections which NASA expects to win by a large enough margin that it will be futile for Jubilee to try and rig the process,” Mr. Ager added.

“I urge all NASA polling agents, constituency polling agents and supporters in general to be prepared to turn out with one accord on 8 August; vote in force, meticulously protect the vote and deliver a resounding victory in order to deliver Kenya from the stifling misrule of Jubilee,” Mr. Ager said.

End.

PANIC: Uhuru Ratings DECLINE Sharply in Battlegrounds, Ten days to Election Day !

Notwithstanding the pitfalls inherent in opinion throughout the world including in the developed western democracies, the science remains central to tracking voters’ attitudes especially in hotly contested elections where people’s preferences are subject to change within short intervals.

Most Kenyan analysts – Jubilee and NASA – have criticized the polling by the two main polling firms Ipsos and Infotrak, which are perceived as leaning to the two coalitions in that order. However, the results of the latest polls released on Sunday capture an undeniable reality of the evolving campaign: the sudden disappearance of a huge advantage President Uhuru Kenyatta enjoyed as recently as three months ago.

With mainstream media in the tank for the Jubilee government, Kenyans and other observers of the political process hardly come across professional analysis of the unexpected trend of Uhuru losing instead of gaining support in the final days of this campaign.

Three things stand out in explaining Uhuru’s diminishing fortunes. The first is that NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga’s has successfully debunked the myth of an unbeatable incumbent that was at the heart of Uhuru’s surge in recent years, despite the government’s disastrous performance.

He did so by coalescing a coalition bringing all the top national leaders from outside Kikuyu and Kalenjin lands, where voters were more open to honest prognosis on their own deteriorating conditions of life rather than the entrenched ethnic solidarity of the tribes controlling the government and dispensing patronage benefits to their kin.

In the back and forth defections of top leaders that have marked this election season, it is easy even for our seasoned newspaper analysts to gloss over the fact that NASA got a net gain from the defections, its parties losing mostly political ‘rejects’ who won’t win their seats back on Jubilee tickets. Hardly any of the leaders elected on NASA affiliated parties in 2013 who defected to Jubilee will win back their seats.

On the other hand, NASA received top political assets from their areas. Key among these is former minister for Education Prof. Sam Ongeri who is tipped to win the Kisii senate seat in ODM by a wide margin, according to county opinion polls and ground dynamics.

While Kisii was already NASA stronghold and Prof. Ongeri’s defection did not bring the coalition any new votes, it contributed to the erosion of the little support Jubilee hoped to get there. For over twenty years of multiparty politics, Prof. Ongeri had stood strongly against the Odingas, starting right in 1992 when he rejected Jaramogi Oginga Odinga.

In 2002, 2007 and 2013, he had not time for Raila, and between 2008-13 was President Mwai Kibaki’s top ally in Nyanza. During the Kibaki succession, he was Uhuru’s most senior ally after the president himself and deputy president William Ruto and their coalition partners Charity Ngilu and Najib Balala.

That Prof. Ongeri could countenance the idea of defecting from Jubilee and supporting Mr Odinga, a man he had spent his life fighting, signified to the Kisii that their community members had no future in the Uhuru administration. The defection also showed that no one would expect to win an elective seat in Kisii in this election as an ally of President Kenyatta’s.

The same situation obtains in the Coast, where former Foreign Affairs minister Ali Mwakwere had to defect to NASA to realistically run for the Kwale governor seat. Uhuru was slowly being ostracized, and the low-level politicians he won over from NASA parties were easily labeled “tumbocrats” (corrupt leaders following patronage money).

Raila answered the narrative of an unbeatable incumbent with a strong countervailing argument about what Jubilee had not done for the people. He did not campaign in Kikuyu and Kalenjin areas until well into the campaign season, even as Uhuru and Ruto were domiciled there to show their people that they still called the shots in politics.

By the time Uhuru and Ruto smelled the coffee, Coast, Eastern, Western and non-Kalenjin Rift Valley were gone. And Raila’s surge, while based on the remarkable exploitation of Jubilee failures, most notably the unga crisis, was fueled by the defection of the very leaders Jubilee had mistreated, such as Ongeri and Mwakwere.

As this unfolded, the very basis of Jubilee’s support base (winning over opposition members through financial incentives) became its Archilles heel. Defectors were increasingly scorned, forcing several from the Coast and Kisii who had joined Jubilee to troop back to NASA parties.

Likewise, disaffected Jubilee leaders instantaneously turned into heroes in their communities when they joined NASA. Taraiya ole Kores, the former Jubilee aspirant for the Kajiado governorship, is reported to have told Mr Ruto to his face that Jubilee would lose the Maasai vote.

According to a NASA leader briefed on the events, Mr Kores held a long meeting with deputy president William Ruto a day before he announced his surprising switch. Mr Ruto reportedly made it clear to him that the government would not hand over power to Mr Odinga even if he won the election. “Do you think we will hand over to Tinga?” Mr Ruto posed, using Mr Odinga’s nickname.

The threat didn’t go down well with Mr Kores who felt that, after being edged out of the Jubilee nomination, he was now being blackmailed to remain loyal to the party. “I will move to NASA and we will win. I will see how you guys cling to power,” Mr Kores retorted and left the meeting. The next day he reached out to Mr Odinga and announced his defection officially.

Kwale Governor Salim Mvurya, Kilifi MP Gideon Mungaro and Mumias East Ben Washiala also defected to Jubilee, and their campaign narrative has been that Mr Odinga, who has been rigged from winning the presidency in two successive elections, wouldn’t be allowed by the Kenyan elite to rule the country.

Another of Mr Odinga’s strategies was to avoid a discussion on specific deliverables of his government. Unlike in 2013 when he promised detailed development programmes, this time NASA left projects out of its manifesto, a decision that caused some tension even at the NASA secretariat.

Mr Odinga strongly felt that Kenyans know what they want and what he had achieved in government. Indeed, he has gone around the country pointing to projects he launched as prime minister, and which Jubilee has been taking advantage. From roads in Northeastern to the standard gauge railway itself, all Mr Odinga has had to do is describe to voters his own initiation of the projects, bringing to meetings the local people he worked with in designing the projects, agreeing the land allocations for them and the cabinet papers.

In the process, he exposed Uhuru and Ruto as ‘liars’ even as the mainstream media continued to credit Jubilee with completing the projects, while not raising questions about the dozens of the real Jubilee projects that didn’t even start, or stalled after gulping billions of shillings.

To observers of the media, this election provides an experience similar to the U.S election of 2016 where the mainstream media persuaded itself to a cause and championed despite popular resistance until it came face to face with reality on Election Day. Ordinary Kenyans are suffering the deepest impoverishment in a generation, but the media reports their predicament only as being part of opposition politics rather than a reality needing addressing.

The last technique NASA used was to define itself as the underdog, thereby winning the support of all those pissed off by the corrupt Jubilee system. The cases against the IEBC, for example, provided the context for Jubilee to show its fangs, emerging each time to defend the IEBC on irregular procurement, lopsided hiring of staff and opaque processes, including on the finality of results declared at polling stations, leaving no doubt about their convergence of interests.

The intransigence by IEBC contributed to the increased understanding by Raila’s supporters about how he has twice been cheated of victory. His supporters will come out in large numbers. And they will protect the vote. The government knows, which is why, for the first time, it has earmarked Machakos as a ‘hotspot’.

BREAKING! IEBC sacks Nairobi Deputy Returning Officer SETH OMOLO over links with Kidero

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission has sacked the Nairobi County Deputy Returning officer Seth Ouma Omolo.

Omolo was sacked after it was revealed that he has been holding several secret meetings with Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero’s aides in a bid to influence the outcome of the Nairobi governor seat race during the upcoming August 8 polls.

According to mobile phone recordings in our possession, the sacked IEBC official is overheard saying he has already received a down payment of Sh80m from Kidero’s henchmen to strategize on how to rig the August 8 polls in favour of Kidero and deny Senator Mike Sonko who is now Kidero’s main headache in his re-election bid.

IEBC has already posted a new deputy returning officer to replace Omolo whose fate is still unknown.
Kidero is not new to bribery cases involving millions of shillings. Last year he was found guilty of bribing sacked Supreme Court Judge Philip Tunoi with Sh200m to throw out a petition against his win in 2013 polls.

Raila NASA’s Adopt A Polling Station Must Go On…

By Justus Atuti

The mention of adopt a polling station sends shivers amongst the Jubilee mandrines with CS Matiangi leading the pack. Matiangi is breathing fire and has strongly instructed the police to deal with the plan with all the force available. This is unfortunate, misnformed and arrogance of the highest degree from CS Matiangi, and it will be very unfortunate if the Police Commissioner goes ahead to implement the same.

Kenya is a sovereign state and the constitution is vested on the people’s values. Our Constitution is the supreme laws of our land and it’s powers are derived directly from the people. T

he constitution spells the way Kenyans have decided to be led and put it down on paper. The constitution allows Kenyans to delegate their powers, or exercise it directly as they wish.Chapter one of rhe constitution spells out the sovereignty of the people of kenya. Article 1 (1) states thus “ALL the power belongs to the people ……” .1 (2) “The people MAY exercise their sovereign power directly…”

The 2007 and the 2013 general elections taught Kenyans not to trust the institutions upon which they had delegated their power, to render a free, fair, credible and verifiable election. Rigging in both elections rendered the purpose of power delegation useless. And for purposes of transparency and accountability and for purposes of a free and fair election, Kenyans have chosen to exercise their powers directly (Article 1 (2), by safeguarding their votes at the polling station. This is very costitutional because, as per the opening remarks of the constitution, power belongs to the people. And the people and free to exercise their supreme power in whichever form they want.

Instead of Matiangi and those opposed to this noble idea of calling this move unconstitutional, they should instead be asking the people protecting our votes at the polling station to act with decorum, instead of threatening them, intimidating them and criminalizing them. These are Kenyans exercising their constitutional rights vesting on their own constitution.

The role of the police is to provide peace and security at polling stations during this noble exercise, not to tell Kenyans or lecture them on how to exercise their constitutional powers. The role of the CS, who is by extension a Jubilee follower and campaigner, is not to tell Kenyans on how to exercise their constitutional powers. It is to ask the police commissioner to maintain peace, while encouraging IEBC to exercise transparency and accountability.

It is unfortunate and illegal and misplaced for anyone to try to prevent a Kenyan exercising their constitutional powers and for this, I am assuring them that Kenyans will resist and will not a ccept to be intimidated or pushed by any power that there may be.

Rigging, cheating or any tricks must get out of the mind of any kenyan, whoever they are at this time. It will be resisted by all forces. No amount of tear gas or bullet will stop Kenyans from demanding for a transparent, accountable and verifiable election. For these are the components of peace without which Kenya will burn.

My brothers and sisters, ignore the desperation of matiangi. Ignore his arrogance and his chest thumbing. It will not add any value to anyone. Please let’s protect our votes against the serial thieves under matiangi. It is our right.
