Uhuru should hang the corrupt just like his dad did: Rev. Njoya

Outspoken man of cloth Reverend Timothy Njoya has proposed a capital punishment for Kenyan leaders who are caught in corruption scandals.

Njoya explained that the massive plunder in the country was being fueled by a cartel of super rich people who were intent on robbing the poor silly with the knowledge that they were above the law.

He faulted the president for being slow to act on the corruption scandals whose amounts were in hundreds of billions.

Speaking with Citizen TV’s Jeff Koinange, Njoya said that the best punishment Uhuru would mete out to the corrupt few would be death by hanging.

“If Uhuru Kenyatta’s father hanged the poor for robbing the rich why can’t he (Uhuru) do the same; hang a few for robbing the poor, “Njoya said

He suggested that if a few cabinet secretaries were sentenced to hang, others with equally sticky fingers would think twice before jumping in.

Njoya alluded to the bible story in which a couple; Ananias and Sapphira were struck dead by the holy spirit for conspiring to steal proceeds meant for the poor.

“If you rob the poor, or conspire to lie to the poor, then you deserve to be hanged because that is a capital offense,”he added

His unorthodox proposition comes hot in the wake of a new scandal in town where KSh. 21 billion meant for the construction of Arror and Kimwarer Dams In Elgeyo Marakwet County disappeared.

It has since emerged that Treasury Cabinet Secretary Henry Rotich, Devolution Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa and Treasury PS Kamau Thugge may be questioned by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) as detectives dig into the dam’s scandal.

We are funded by Kenyans of goodwill and well wishers, Ekuru Aukot declares

The Third Way Alliance Party has opened up on the contributors behind its 2017 presidential campaigns and its ongoing referendum push.

The party fronted its leader Ekuru Aukot for the 2017 presidential race before he emerged a distant third and second in the August 8 poll and October 26 repeat respectively.

The party Secretary General Frederick Okango on Thursday came out to reveal that most of the funds came from Kenyans pockets and those of wellwishers.

He added that the same is the case currently, as the party has been crisscrossing the country gathering signatures from Kenyans in its ‘Punguza Mzigo’ referendum push.

Okango said that some of the funds used in the trips came for their own pockets, and the remaining again coming from Kenyans of goodwill.

“We don’t have the billions some of these big parties have but have been using our own money to cater for the referendum push costs. Other funds have been coming from Kenyans,” said Okango.

“We have not been lucky to use choppers in our search for signatures though we had the privilege in 2017,” he added.

The party is pushing for among others, the reduction of elective seats and abolition of nominated slots and is read wants the election of two representatives per county.

The two, according to the party, will be a male and a female.

But the referendum is facing competition from another referendum push being spearheaded by opposition leader Raila Odinga and his allies.

However, Raila’s push seeks to expand the government by reintroducing the Prime Ministerial seat.

Present the evidence before us and i will act accordingly CJ Maraga tells lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi

Chief Justice David Maraga has asked lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi and others with information on graft at the Supreme Court to file petitions or table evidence at the Judicial Service Commission.

This follows allegations made by Senior Counsel Ahmednasir about some of the Supreme Court judges receiving bribes in the recent ruling on the Wajir gubernatorial petition.

This comes a day after Supreme Court Judge Mohammed Ibrahim demanded an apology from the lawyer for publishing defamatory words against him over the Wajir gubernatorial election petition.

The judge, through his lawyer Wambua Kilonzo, gave Ahmednassir seven days to retract the words published on his twitter account and offer an apology, failure to which he will move to court.

In the said tweets, Ahmednasir singled out Justice Ibrahim for having changed his mind hours before the ruling that upheld the election of Wajir Governor Mohamed Abdi.

“The problem with corruption in the Kenyan Supreme Court as aptly shown by the judgment of Wajir gubernatorial petition is that corruption is single sourced & is not open & competitive. My client was not invited to put his bid & some judges took money from only one party,” tweeted Ahmednasir.

He promised to write a letter to the Chief Justice on “which judges were bribed and how much money they got.”

Justice Ibrahim says the tweets were “libelous, malicious, oppressive and spiteful and were calculated to, and did discredit our client’s good way and reputation, injured, disparaged and lowered his esteem and regard among right thinking members of the local and international society.”

How Raila’s handshake is exposing massive corruption in Jubilee

By Sospeter O

State of the Nation is Threatened by Corruption

The greatest question on Kenyans’ minds is whether the handshake was really worth it, in the face of the corruption scandals that are being unraveled. This is an important question but these revelations would not be forthcoming without the handshake. 80 to 90% of these corruption scandals are being masterminded by the Tangatanga half of the government, and the handshake gives Uhuru the necessary political stamina to take on these corrupt cartels that are allied to Kenya’s most corrupt politician without worrying about the political consequences.

The handshake insulates Uhuru from the evil intentions of the hooligans in his government who may be intent on fighting back against the war on corruption, which is fast sealing the loopholes of their 2022 corrupt campaign fundraising networks.

Already, there are plans to discredit Uhuru right-hand men like Matiang’i and Kinyua by discrediting them as corrupt, to deflect focus from the head of the corruption snake in government. Uhuru may have achieved little, but we know why, and which half of his government is to blame but there comes a time when you cease to worry about performance but rather the preservation of the state from further decay and rot until 2022 when we shall have a revolution-like cleanup of the state.

Our state is captured, and Uhuru was in the pre-handshake era, been a victim of the Stockholm hostage syndrome, but the handshake has liberated him from the yoke of Ruto blackmail and manipulation. Uhuru should not be afraid to fight the saboteurs in his government, he has the necessary support to win any battle that he initiates.

Meanwhile former Taveta MP Hon Jackson Mwalulu says: President Uhuru Kenyatta needs to urgently address the nation on the topic of mega corruption only.
Part of that speech should/must be sackings of ministers plus other top civil servants linked to looting and their immediate arraignment in courts. Unless he (the president) has given up on his job.

Statehouse plot for countrywide demonstrations to force DP Ruto to resign over corruption

We can authoritatively report that there plans for countrywide mass action meant to force DP Ruto to resign over massive corruption in government. plotters are said to use the NIS reports that have incriminating information touching on many associates of DP Ruto.

The latest Kerio Valley Development Authority dams projects expoze is just but a start. Many of DP Ruto’s tribesmen including ministers and top parastatal chiefs especially those in the ministry of Energy and Agriculture are facing investigations over loss of billions in what authorities believe to be mega corruption scandals.

DP Ruto has security of tenure and therefore Uhuru cannot sack him but can use other means to force him out.

“Its time to pour into the streets and ask DP Ruto to resign over the dams scandal”- Statehouse operative was quoted.

Statehouse operatives are confident ODM leader Raila odinga will give the plan some blessings and will allow his lieutenants to lead demonstrations. The plan also is to have the demonstrations take place when Raila is abroad. ODM leaders who are expected to help mobilize include James Orengo, Governor Joho , Junet Mohammed, John Mbadi among others.

Signs of that the plot may take off came out yesterday when supreme leader Raila Odinga and Cotu secretary general Francis Atwoli demanded that the officials involved in the dams scandal step down to allow for investigations.

They said if Uhuru fails to sack them, Kenyans will hunt down corrupt suspects and arrest them.

“The government’s enemy is not the trade unions but those involved in stealing taxpayers’ funds. Workers just need trade unions to secure their interests,”
Raila said.

They were addressing unions, media, and government officials during the 30th Pan-African trade unions’ anniversary at a Nairobi hotel.

ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi who is a close ally of statehouse operative David Murathe on Tuesday demanded Uhuru sack Treasury CS Henry Rotich and his Water counterpart Simon Chelugui.

“If some of them will not be put in jail, I can tell you, your Excellency, that citizens are going to take action. We know where the criminals live,” Atwoli said.

The leaders said stolen public funds end up at a particular top government official, whom they want investigated.

“We cannot sit down and see poor people suffer while one greedy person is busy illegally amassing wealth. It is immoral, evil and bad to deny Kenyans good health, good transport, and good lives,” Atwoli said.

Raila said, “All the money stolen ends up in the same hands which are known to everyone. The main suspect is also known.”

The leaders said they will take matters into their own hands if people accused of corruption are left to roam free.

“We might not have a country tomorrow. Kenyans will be forced to pay for loans that never helped them,” Atwoli said.

The DCI is investigating Sh38 billion irregularly allocated to an Italian company to build Arror dam.

The project was done without regard for the procurement procedure. Others are Itare Dam Water Supply Project in Nakuru and Kimwarer Multipurpose Dam in Elgeyo Marakwet.

Only 7billion was looted, not 21billion in dams scandal- DP Ruto ‘defends’ corruption in government

Deputy President William Ruto has denied reports that the Sh21 billion allocated to Arror, Kimwarer dams has vanished.

Speaking when the Judiciary released its annual report on Thursday, Ruto said the figures being reported to have been stolen were misleading.

“You’ have heard that the government has lost about Sh21 billion which is a flat lie! The money in question is about Sh7 billion, and for every coin that has been paid, we have a bank guarantee,” he said.

An aide to Ruto was roped in the Sh21 billion dam scandal which is under active investigations by Kenyan authorities.

Ken Osinde is on the DCI radar after a company he is associated with is suspected to have played a role in the multi-billion tenders for construction of Kimwarer and Arror dams in Elgeyo Marakwet county.

Ruto insisted no money will be lost since theirs is a government which is responsible, adding that they have engaged every arm of government.

“The correct information must be used as we target the fight against corruption so that we can nail the real culprit,” he said.

“Sometimes we say Sh9 billion has been lost and we go to court, then we are told its Sh100 million. Sometimes we shoot ourselves in the foot.”

He added, “Our commitment as a government is that there are mechanisms and synergy around what we should do to deliver and give factual information.”

An aide to Ruto is listed as a director of Sanlam Company, which is part of the 107 whose directors have been summoned to record statements with the police.

Detectives are probing why the firm was paid Sh47 million by Italian firm CMC di Ravenna – which is said to have pocketed billions of taxpayers’ cash for work not done.

DCI George Kinoti says the investigation is centred on whether the firm insured the non-existent project at the expense of taxpayers.

Several Cabinet secretaries have also been linked to alleged bribery to facilitate the issuance of the tenders to an Italian company.

The construction of Arror dam is estimated to cost Sh38.5 billion while Kimwarer is Sh28 billion.

Exposed: Who has stolen more? Arap Mashamba or Uthamaki? NIS protecting looters from Mt Kenya?

By O O

This needs to be clear. Mashamba’s looting is just one side of the same coin. The two crooks were a ‘joint ticket’, and both have their snouts firmly in the feeding trough. The fact that one side of the coin has such a firm grip of the NIS, the propaganda machinery and our ‘Githeri media’ don’t mean that ‘Uthamaki’ and the ‘Mountain Mafia’ ain’t sucking us dry like leeches.

It is just that ‘Uthamakistan’ are playing us all into seeing just one side of a two sided coin. And if you sought my honest opinion, much as the Sugoi thief’s primitive, brazen, unhinged and ‘no holds barred gluttony’ is more obvious and visible, the real Hyena that is devouring our nation is ‘Jezebel and her Mafia’. Her son is just running errands!

After he imported fake fertilizer and condemned Kalenjin farmers to a poor harvest, he did not pause there. He went ahead to loot all the money that had been allocated to the NCPB to pay them for this dismal harvest. And then told them to go plant Avocados. And he did not pause there. Next, he had 21 billion bob of funds that had been allocated to build dams for the Kalenjin of Elgeyo Marakwet County wired to some crooks in Italy, who wired it to England, from where it was wired back to Kenya and distributed to his Companies back here!

And yet, the same Kalenjin get extremely worked up here on social media if you as much as suggest that he will never be President. They are so passionately and aggressively pushing his 2022 bid that one can’t help but wonder about their sanity. Walikosea Mungu vipi lakini hawa watu wa Kutangatanga? My advice to the more discerning and sensible of them is really simple. Apologise to ‘Arap Mibei’ Raila Odinga, beg him to take them under the shadow of his huge wings and protect them from the marauding predator!

Millions of fake currency recovered by police in “Uhuru” impersonator’s home

Police have recovered fake Kenyan and foreign currency worth millions of shillings in a residential house linked to the seven suspects accused of impersonating President Uhuru Kenyatta.

According to police, it is believed that the money was being used by the suspects in a con scheme involving calling people and telling them they have won money, and thus pay some amount to receive the ‘prize.’

The fake money packed in metallic boxes was carried away in a police lorry as detectives intensify investigations.

During the raid, police arrested three people and also recovered one firearm which they later established was licenced.

On Wednesday, the seven suspects; Joseph Waswa, Duncan Muchai, Isaac Wajekeche, William Simiyu, David Luganya, Gilbert Kirunja and Anthony Wafula, pleaded not guilty to charges of conspiracy to defraud and were released on a Ksh.100,000 cash bail each.

Let Uhuru appear as a witness and testify against impersonators

The case pitting a millionaire business man and suspected President Uhuru impersonators is likely going t take another twist if what the lawyer representing the two will be a thing to go by.

Lawyer Cliff Ombeta argues that President Uhuru Kenyatta should be compelled to testify in a case involving seven men believed to have mimicked his voice and subsequently, defrauded a renowned businessman Sh10 million.

Joseph Waswa, Duncan Muchai, Isaac Wajekeche, William Simiyu, David Luganya, Gilbert Kirunja and Anthony Wafula are suspected of calling businessman Nashud Merali demanding that he facilitates the release of the Sh10 million for the purchase of a piece of land at Nairobi’s Milimani area.

In his application, Ombeta, who is defending the seven over fraud and impersonation, said the phone number purportedly used by them belonged to the president thus necessary for him to appear and testify in the case.

“It means he had the President’s number and nothing stops the prosecutor from enjoining the President in the case,” said Ombeta.

Principal Magistrate Peter Ooko turned down an application to detain the suspects for 10 days, directing that police either charge them or release them.

Police then rearrested the suspects and charged them with fraud before Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi, who ruled that it was too late in the day and ordered that they be detained for another night before pleading to the charges on Wednesday.

While it is not clear how they accessed the phone number purportedly used by the Head of State, the seven successfully managed to defraud the Sameer Africa boss, in a case that could also have state officials implicated.

Police are said to be analysing their call logs to ascertain communication records even as it emerged that none of them works for a network provider company.

Create jobs for the youths to reduce unemployment rate in the continent, Raila tells Unions

African Union Special Envoy for Infrastructure Development Raila Odinga has bashed trade unions that focus only on salaries rather than service delivery.

Speaking during the 30th Pan African Trade Unions Anniversary at Hilton Hotel, Nairobi, Odinga stated that he believes the creation of unions that can use their power to think beyond salary increments.

He argues that there can be vibrant unions which can ensure job creation for their people in the country they serve.

“We believe in Trade Unions that use their power to think not just about today’s pay and working conditions but also how to ensure we create a vibrant economy that creates more jobs for the jobless,” Odinga said.

Raila Odinga further added that workers are better served when through their unions they build trust and understanding of the necessities that should take precedence and trust building amongst officials and management.

He regretted that said that as much as trade unions champion for the interest of the already employed, they should remember there are millions of Kenyans who are jobless.

“We must admit that even as we champion the interests of those already in employment, there are millions of our citizens who are out of work and are praying that we can create a good environment for more firms to set up here and take in more people,” he advised.

How DP Ruto’s chief of staff got involved in 65 billion scandal, seemed an influence from the boss

Ken Osinde, the diplomat linked to Sh65 billion dams in North Rift is not a stranger within Gusii politics given his boardroom deals on behalf of Jubilee Party in the last six years.

The Director of criminal Investigations (DCI) revealed that Osinde, DP William Ruto’s Chief of Staff, through the insurance company where he is a director, was paid Kshs 47 million by the controversial Italian firm CMC Di Ravena.

According to Daily Nation Newspaper, Osinde, a confidant of the DP, is listed as a director of an insurance company that reportedly received the money from the controversial firm.

The firm, CMC Di Ravena, had been contracted by Kerio Valley Development Authority in 2017 to construct Arror and Kamwarer dams worth Sh65 billion and the National Treasury had already released Sh21 billion for work not done.

With Mr Osinde now on the limelight, the former ambassador to Germany is not a stranger to controversy. Former Kitutu Masaba MP Timothy Bosire has often implicated him in alleged voter bribery that saw Jubilee’s Shadrack Mose toppling him.

Born in 1962 at Borabu in Nyamira, Osinde is a holder of MBA from the University of Nairobi and spent much of his time as a lecturer. He would later join the insurance business which he practiced until 2010.

Retired President Mwai Kibaki picked him as Kenya’s envoy to Germany and is credited to lobbying for first ever direct flights from Mombasa to Berlin.

In 2017, Deputy President William Ruto named him as his Chief of Staff after the unprecedented exit of Maryanne Keitany, a position he has held to date.

The latest scandal that he has been dragged to could further raise integrity issues on the DP given that Mr Osinde is his close ally.

Why Gov. Joho remains undisputed coastal kingpin and favorite presidential candidate

Ali Hassan Joho is undoubtedly one of the most popular governors in Kenya.

The ODM deputy party leader and confidante to opposition leader Raila Odinga has risen in terms of his political achievements and is now the political kingpin in the coast.

Joho is a fearless politician dedicated to go an extra mile to serve his people.

Now that he has clearly declared his interest for the top seat in the 2022 polls, political pundits opine that the outspoken Mombasa county boss will be likely the man to beat.

He enjoys pregnant support in the coastal region and is slowly gaining fame in other regions. He has excellent oratory skills, a brilliant articulation of development programmes and a passion for devolution.

Besides, his net worth can allow him to comfortably fund a presidential campaign without seeking help from donors.

He has always fully rallied behind his party leader Raila Odinga who political commentators say he might endorse him for presidency.

Joho has frequently spoken in public about his ability to be president and this is an option that I cannot rule out at all. He has the ability to bring people together and serve them without bias.

His willingness to work with his political competitors is proof of his selfless mentality.

So, should Raila endorse him for the big job, he will definitely give other presidential aspirants sleepless nights.

Governor Joho has also increased his loyalty to President Uhuru Kenyatta. This seems to be a political strategy of gaining fame and wooing the government to foster more development programmes in his region.

All in all, a political figure of Joho’s caliber is one that cannot wither away easily due to his fame.

I strongly opine that despite his post in the 2022 political direction, Ali Hassan Joho will remain the political kingpin of the coast region and Kenya as a whole.

Westland MP seeks to push for reduction of the HELB interest rates from the current 4% to 2%.

STATEMENT BY HON TIM WANYONYI ON HELB AMENDMENT BILL 2018

The recent announcement by Education CS Ambassador Amina Mohammed, that HELB loan defaulters will be hunted down by Police and arrested in a bid to recover KES 7 billion of the fund is totally misplaced.

Kenyans at large are living in tough economic times, jobs are scarce with a majority of University graduates without meaningful or lack employment to be able to afford their basic needs.

The stress levels of unemployed graduates is at an all time high with some even reaching an optimum point to either commit suicide or go insane.

I have read many heartbreaking stories and confessions online of graduates having received First Class Honors in their fields of specialization but are languishing jobless and are in extreme poverty.

The recent story of Baringo first class honors degree holder in Economics Ruth Chemutai Rono made headlines a few weeks ago. It is one of many similar stories.

The arrests insinuated on the youth who are mostly without jobs is uncalled for and not logical.

The government should instead put in place measures to fast track agenda 4 and other similar initiatives to increase the current youth employment rate.

To bring sanity to this issue, I will push and support the pending HELB Amendment Bill 2018. The Bill entails reduction of the HELB interest rates from the current 4% to 2%.
The Bill also seeks to waive the accrual of interest rates until the youth secure their first employment.

3 individuals arrested with ivory worth 15 million in Karen

13 kilograms of Ivory has been recovered in Karen Nairobi after three men were arrested.

The three identified as Moses Leshinga, 24, Frankline Lekashina, 26, and Raymond Wambui, 32 were arrested while ferrying the tusks valued at Ksh 15million.

Their arrest comes days after a chines woman also known as Ivory queen was sentenced to 15years in jail by the Tanzanian Authorities for ivory trafficking.

Kenya has been head over heels in fighting Ivory trafficking warning that the trade risks wiping out elephants.

During the 17th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora, Kenya unsuccessfully sought to have a global ban on trade imposed even after 29 African Elephant Coalition countries gave support.

However, Namibia and Zimbabwe petitioned CITES to exempt their elephants from the ivory trade ban, on grounds that their populations are thriving.

We will not rush NYS case because of Waiguru,no sacred cow says EACC CEO Twalib mbarak

The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) boss Twalib Mbarak has said that the anti-graft agency was not going to treat Governor Waiguru any differently because she is a governor in the NYS case.

The EACC boss was keen to note that the agency is currently dealing with a handful of other cases which are yet to be resolved but promised that she would get her feedback through the normal process.

“The case is being handled. She will get feedback through the normal process. There is no need to rush just because she is a governor. Her case is not special,” said Mbarak.

His reply came after the Kirinyaga county boss wrote her sixth letter to the anti-corruption agency saying among other things, the NYS saga had dragged her name through the mud.

In the letter, Waiguru cited frustration with the case which enters its third year, even after the EACC ascertained that NYS scandal suspect Josephine Kabura had given a false affidavit.

Kabura had previously implicated her former boss Anne Waiguru in an affidavit, saying that her boss was aware of the massive Ksh.791 million looting at the NYS.

When the news of the scandal broke in 2015, Waiguru, then Devolution Cabinet Secretary threw in the towel, resigning on medical grounds, on the advice of her doctor.

During a press briefing, she explained to the media that she had asked her boss, Uhuru Kenyatta to assign her lighter duties.

Breaking: Nigeria’s President Buhari retains seat in a hotly contested race

Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday won a second term at the helm of Africa’s largest economy and top oil producer, a tally by Reuters based on electoral commission results showed.

Buhari faces a daunting to-do list, including reviving an economy still struggling to recover from a 2016 recession and quelling a decade-old Islamist insurgency that has killed thousands of people in the northeast, many of them civilians.

Buhari of the All Progressive Congress party proved wrong those who doubted he could survive the blows of recession, militant attacks on oilfields, and Islamist insurgency that blighted his first term.

He won by 56 percent compared with 41 percent for the other candidate, businessman and former vice president Atiku Abubakar of the People’s Democratic Party.

The president won by 3.9 million votes, having garnered 15.2 million to Atiku’s 11.3 million.

The turnout, based on valid votes, was 33.2 percent. In the 2015 presidential election, turnout was 44 percent.

A message posted on Buhari’s Twitter feed late on Tuesday showed him smiling and surrounded by applauding staff at his campaign office.

“I met the very hardworking members of our team, many of them young people, and was briefed on the performance of our party so far in the Presidential Elections. I am very proud of what has been accomplished,” he said on Twitter.

Garba Shehu, Buhari’s spokesman, said the president’s office would have no comment until the electoral commission announces the winner.

Earlier, Atiku’s party demanded an immediate halt to the release of results by the Independent National Electoral Commission until turnout figures are provided to the competing parties.

Atiku’s party has rejected the tallies announced so far as “incorrect and unacceptable”. Buhari’s party has said the opposition was trying to discredit the returns from Saturday’s election.

The accusations have ratcheted up tensions in a vote marred by delays, logistical glitches and outbreaks of violence.

Nigeria’s six decades of independence have been marked by long periods of military rule, coups and secessionist wars.

Observers from the Economic Community of West African States, the African Union and the United Nations appealed to all parties to await the official results, expected later this week, before filing complaints.

The candidate with the most votes nationwide is declared winner as long as they have at least one-quarter of the vote in two-thirds of Nigeria’s 36 states and the capital, Abuja. Otherwise there is a second-round run-off.

Buhari secured enough votes to meet both requirements.

EX-MILITARY RULER

Buhari, 76, is a former military ruler who took office in 2015 and sought a second term with pledges to fight corruption and overhaul Nigeria’s creaking road and rail network.

Atiku, 72, had said he would aim to double the size of the economy to $900 billion by 2025, privatize the state oil company and expand the role of the private sector if voted into office.

Voting took place on Saturday after a week-long delay which the election commission said was due to its inability to get ballots and results sheets to all parts of the country.

The event – Africa’s largest democratic exercise – has also been marred by violence in which at least 47 people have been killed since Saturday, according to the Situation Room, a monitoring organization linking various civil society groups.

Some of the deaths took place after gangs allied to the leading parties clashed with each other as well as the police over the theft of ballot boxes and allegations of vote fraud.

Police have not yet provided official casualty figures.

More than 260 people have been killed since the start of the election campaign in October. The toll so far is lower than in earlier elections, but the worst violence occurred previously only after results were announced.

CS Rotich and Chelugui should resign says ANC Leader Musalia Mudavadi

Will Kenya ever win the war on corruption? Everyday that passes always presents itself with an opportunity for Rogue Government officials to Steal and Mint Public funds.

The Kenyan Public has lost Billions of Shillings to a few individuals who continue to grow fat bank accounts at the expense of the many Millions of Kenyans who continue to thrive in Poverty.

The Government through President Uhuru Kenyatta has time and again said that the war on corruption is serious and that any individual implicated in the vice should brace him/herself for total war.

This however seem to be just cheap talk and with the latest Mega Scandal running into 68 billion, Proposals have been made on how to deal with the faces behind it.

ANC boss Musalia Mudavadi has made a number of suggestions that have included resignation of Treasury CS Henry Rotich and his Water counterpart Simon Chelugui over the Sh68 billion construction of dams scam.

According to Mudavadi, officials heading parastatals mentioned in the scandals should also quit for effective investigations.

“For a start, the Cabinet secretaries for Treasury and Water and the officers associated with this matter, including the CEO of Kerio Valley Development Authority, must go,” Musalia said in a statement yesterday.

Musalia said the two CSs’ continued stay in office will compromise prosecution and deny Kenyans justice. “If they don’t resign, President Uhuru Kenyatta must sack them, forthwith. It is pointless to investigate persons who are still in office.”

Mudavadi asked Uhuru to take the war against corruption seriously, saying graft has denied Kenyans basic services.

He said the dam projects were deliberately conceived to be phantom assignments to provide avenues for stealing.

“These people should not just be allowed to go home to enjoy their stolen wealth. They must be taken to court and ultimately to jail,” Musalia said.

He also wants the suspects’ assets frozen pending their recovery. “I reiterate my call that it is time to move from handshakes to handcuffs.”

Should Musalia Mudavadi’s Proposals be implemented?

Who will blink first? CS Matiangi’s last call for firearm holders to register

Illegal firearms holders are staring at interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i lethal wrath.

The moratorium for people with fake licences or in possession of firearms without licences ends on March 7. Matiang’i said “there shall be no extension even for an hour.”

Police will launch a crackdown on those with illegal firearms after the vetting ends.

More than 300 guns and 5,000 bullets have been confiscated from firearm holders with fake licences, the Firearms Licensing Board said yesterday.

He said some firearms have ended up in wrong hands “either because people came and compromised the system and got the firearms even before they were tested or even physically appeared before the board because of the way we have been doing things in the past.”

He said all people with firearms must appears before the board so that the agency knows who holds the licence.

Some of the firearms recovered are military grade weapons that should not be in the hands of civilians, the CS said.

Matiang’i said he was shocked a candidate appeared for vetting with five pistols and 14 assault rifles including four sophisticated weapons.

The government is oppressing Kenyans on health matters says Nyali MP Mohamed Ali

Nyali Member of Parliament has said that the government of Kenya has no mercy for poor Kenyans.

Speaking in Parliament, the lawmaker said the government has been subjecting Kenyans, specifically the poor ones, to heavy medical bills when they are alive and go further to charge them heavily when they have succumbed to their sicknesses.

“The government has no mercy for its children. You are dead but the government admires you in such that if you do not collect the body of your loved one from the mortuary, the government will use the body for research purposes in learning institutions,” he said.

He cited referral hospitals in the country as some government facilities that charge huge amount of money which most Kenyans cannot afford to pay.

He also added that others who die while in the hospitals are charged as much as for Sh4,900 per day for body preservation in the government mortuary.

“You have made them suffer in the wards for all those years but you still want to make them suffer in the mortuary for charging them Sh4,900 per each day,” said Ali on Tuesday.

Ali urged the speaker of the house to have a law that will allow poor Kenyans to collect bodies of their loved ones for burial without paying extra charges.

Willy Pozee releases new hit with Tanzanian artist Rayvanny, secular music

The most anticipated song of Rayvanny and Willy Paul is now out with fans praising Pozze for the justice he did on the track.

Willy Pozze has been on the spot for singing non-gospel songs. The ‘gospel’ star is now soaring for the international stage.

His ‘ego’ as termed by many could be the reason he is propelling in his career as he never gives an ear to the ‘haters’.
HERE IS THE VIDEO:

The new song is a raggae genre talking about a lady who is the apple of Pozze’s eye.

“Oh my, I don’t lie, nabaki naguna guna, kama sihemi, mmmmh. Allow me touch you babe oooh, allow me kiss you babe ooh,” sings Pozze in part.

Why some government officials are hiding 6.3 billion meant for dam construction in their houses

The treasury says it paid Sh6.3 billion – 10 per cent of the total cost for the two dams – to Milan in Italy in 2017.But the Italian contractors say they don’t have money because it was taken away. They can’t explain, yet we are servicing a loan as a country.

The Sh65 billion Kimwarer and Arror dams now only appear in the fertile imagination of Kerio Valley Development as Authority officials and the Treasury, are now under investigations.

First, the corrupt officials decided to launder their money through financial institutions in London from Italy because they needed to deposit their “dirty money” at a bank.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) says Sh4 billion was re-routed to a bank in London and soon after to another bank in Nairobi.

Second, through a process known as “layering” , the traffickers sent the dam proceeds through various wire transfers to different accounts in Nairobi all the while varying the amount of their deposits and withdrawals to make the paper-trail harder to follow.

“We have the account number the money was sent to in London and Nairobi. We don’t know why the money was being sent to Nairobi and that is part of our investigations,” DCI Director George Kinoti said.

Finally, according to the police, the money was withdrawn in US dollars from a bank in Westlands and the now-laundered Ksh4b money re-enters the mainstream economy, appearing to originate from a perfectly legal transaction.

Kinoti claimed the Sh4 billion “is in people’s houses.”
Detectives want to find out the reason the money found its way back to Kenya in their ongoing investigations into the stalled Sh63 billion Kimwarer and Arror dam projects in Elgeyo Marakwet County.
The Sh6.3 billion was reportedly for mobilisation of resources to enable Italian firm, CMC di Ravenna, start the projects.

Former Gem MP sacked from PSB for irregular hiring of staff in Siaya county

Siaya County Government has advertised for Chairperson of the Public Service Board, a position that was held by former Gem MP Joe Donde.

This comes on the same day that he is expected to appear before the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).

He was summoned last week over claims of irregularity in hiring of staff.

The former Gem legislator is expected to shed light on why some employees at the county were hired without academic credentials and awarded salaries without following proper guidelines.

The vacancy for his job that was posted in the local dailies on Tuesday also advertised positions for five other members of the Siaya Public Service Board.

Donde and his team were appointed to the Board in 2013 despite queries arising over the procedure of approval by the Siaya County Assembly.

Court declines request to exhume the late Hon. Ntimama’s body for DNA test

A man alleging to be the son of former minister William ole Ntimama’s son has been dealt a major blow after the High Court ruled against him.

The man, George Kariuki, alias George Kariuki Ntimama, has asked the deceased’s body to be exhumed in order to ascertain his party before the court dismissed the case.

Justice William Musyoka said that the man could obtain the DNA from the living children and there is no need to exhume the body as requested.

Musyoka also said that Kariuki was unable to prove the paternity case when the ex-minister was still alive only to rush to court when he is no more.

He reminded the complainant that he had more than 30 years to prove that Ole Ntimama was his father but he failed. He said that exhuming the body of the ex-minister was a waste of time and disturbing his eternal peace.

“The court notes that the petitioner had a long time, more than 30 years, within which he could have sought to be recognized,” said Musyoka in part, as quoted by Standard.

Musyoka also said that the man had not given the court enough reasons to allow for the exhumation of the body. He further noted that the move could be a sign of violation of the religious as well as cultural beliefs of the community of the deceased.

In 2016, Kariuki attempted to stop the burial of the late ex-minister but his efforts proved futile.

Dont give DPP more money to fight graft, let him get 15 trillion hidden by dynasties abroad

Exiled lawyer Miguna Miguna has said that the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Noordin Haji has no moral authority to ask for funds in order to fight corruptions.

Hours after the office of the DPP revealed that his office needed Sh5 billion to fund its operations, Miguna came forth with his guns blazing and trashed the demands.

He asked the DPP to ensure he has repatriated funds hidden by some Kenyan politicians abroad before asking for more.

The lawyer listed President Uhuru Kenyatta, African Union’s High Representative for Infrastructure Development Raila Odinga, Former Presidents Daniel Arap Moi and Mwai Kibaki.

He also named Deputy President William Ruto, The late Nicholas Biwott, Muhoho Kenyatta, Former Governor Evans Kidero, Business tycoon Chris Kirubi and Joshua Kulei.

“Shs. 5 billion for what, Haji? Repatriate the Sh15 Trillion Uhuru Kenyatta, Moi, Kibaki, Raila Odinga, William Ruto, Biwott, Chris Kirubi, Joshua Kulei, Muhuho, Kidero Evans and other looters stashed in off-shore accounts before asking for more money,” he Tweeted.

The self-proclaimed National Resistance Movement (NRM) leader also said that the war against corruption is headed nowhere since the big fish were being protected.

He challenged the DPP to go after the seven before asking for more funds to fight the vice before he leaves office.

Seven suspects arraigned in court for impersonating president Uhuru, conned Merali 10 million

Seven suspects were arraigned in a Nairobi court on Monday for allegedly conning Sameer Africa Chairman Nashud Merali Ksh.10 million, while posing as President Uhuru Kenyatta.

The accused; Joseph Waswa, Duncan Muchai, Isaac Wajekeche, William Simiyu, David Luganya, Gilbert Kirunja and Anthony Wafula, were not charged as the prosecution sought more time to complete investigations.

According to court documents, the suspects called the tycoon on a number 0722208842 which bears the President’s name on the True Caller application.
They then went ahead to mimic Kenyatta’s voice as they purported to sell to Mr. Merali a parcel of land situated in Milimani area, Nairobi.

The Sameer Africa chairman was outside the country on a business trip when he received the call from the fraudsters, and therefore gave a go ahead to his Finance Director to process Ksh.10 million as payment for the land, believing he spoke to the President.

The suspects gave the Finance Director an account number in which he deposited the money.

The seven were arrested on Friday and Saturday in a sting operation by detectives from the DCI.

During the operation, police recovered from the suspects four vehicles including a Toyota Land Cruiser V8, Toyota Mark X , Toyota Axio and Toyota Crown.

Volleyball coach arrested for stealing dozens of underwear from female players

Source: Fox News
A former University of Kansas volleyball coach has been arrested for allegedly stealing dozens of pairs of underwear from female players and cataloging them in his home, it has been revealed.

Lawrence police say they searched the home of Skyler N. Yee, 23, earlier this month after linking him to a series of break-ins on campus. Police said they found a “roughly 40-drawer” plastic storage container, labeled with the names of current and former players. A pair of underwear was found in each labeled drawer.

Another container held more pairs of women’s underwear, the Lawrence Journal-World reported. Also found were pink high heels, boots, a sundress and a jumpsuit — other belongings that players had reported missing. Police further recovered items from unidentified owners, including more stolen underwear, bras, Halloween costumes, jewelry, and sex toys, according to the paper.

Investigators told the paper they believed that Yee did not steal the items for financial gain, but rather for “his own motivation.” The alleged thefts had begun in December 2017 and continued for more than a year, police said. Yee, who resigned his post in mid-January, was charged with 15 counts of burglary, property damage and theft, the paper reported.

Ignore cane farming at your own risk, Hon Nyamita warns Migori residents against DP Ruto’s advice

Uriri MP Mark Nyamita has asked farmers to ignore DP William Ruto’s calls to quit sugarcane farming.

Nyamita argued that most residents in his Uriri area, Awendo and parts of Rongo solely depend on cane farming.

The MP said that despite the industry facing numerous challenges, the calls by Ruto would subject residents in the sugarcane growing regions to poverty.

He said that DP’s directive was ill-advised and did not mean good to farmers, adding that they only need to engage all stakeholders in discussing the plight of farmers and find an amicable solution to the stalemate faced by sugar mills.
“We will still continue milling sugar and capitalise on the by-products instead of looking for an alternative crop,” Nyamita said.

The Uriri Legislator urged farmers to be wary of cartels who were out to take over the sugar industry.

He also urged farmers to be patient as the government was going to pay arrears owed to cane farmers following a directive by President Uhuru Kenyatta.

This comes as South Nyanza Sugar Company (Sony Sugar) said it was projecting a profitable 2019/2020 after the governments intervention to pay farmers.

Sony Sugar Managing Director Benard Otieno in an interview with Migori News said they had also revamped its legal team to save the company from fake lawsuits that lead to huge payouts.

Pressure forces Nurses to call off three weeks strike

The three-week long countrywide nurses strike has been called off.

This was announced on Tuesday morning by the Kenya National Union of Nurses (KNUN) Secretary General Seth Panyako (KNUN) after he was summoned to court.

The announcement brings to an end the strike that has seen the medical practitioners stay away from hospitals since February 4.

Panyako who had been summoned to appear in person in court for disobeying court orders said that he had not been served with the order directing him to call of the strike.

“We are saying that we respect the rule of law and if there was any perception that we said we will not honour the court orders, that was being misquoted,” said Mr. Panyako after he left the court.

“We have always been strong saying we have not been served and the moment we came across those court orders, we sent to the officials and the officials suspended the strike on the ground.”

After confirming that the strike had been called off, Justice Nelson Oboudha gave Mr. Panyako an earful for disobeying court orders.

Justice Oboudha directed him to obey court orders in future. “You stand discharged by the fact that you called off the (nurses) strike.”

DCI seize heroin worth 1.5 million in JKIA

Police at Nairobi Jomo Kenyatta airport have seized pure heroin worth Sh1.5 million on destined for the Republic of Guinea officials say.

According to the DCI the package was disguised as a generator spare part.

Head of Anti-Narcotics Unit Mr Khamis Masa said investigations are ongoing, and added that no arrests had been made following the incident.

The drug burst comes days after a team of detectives seized five kilos of heroin and arrested a major heroin trafficker in Westlands, Nairobi after laying a trap for the elusive drug dealer.

Ngendo was arrested on his return from Kampala, Uganda where he had travelled to. Police in the operation said he had left Nairobi on Wednesday night traveling by bus.
He had concealed the drugs in paws paw fruits.

The suspect had procured the narcotics from a Nigerian based in Kampala. Officials at the anti-narcotics police said the suspect is part of a larger heroin distribution network in Nairobi.
Police records indicate he is a frequent traveler to Uganda. He has a pattern of leaving Kenya through Busia border and comes back to Kenya through Malaba border apparently to evade detection.
In early February 2019 Njau made two other trips to Uganda where he is suspected to have hammered a deal with his Nigerian drug associates.
Its classic for drug dealers to mask their drug dealing activities in legitimate business and charity work.

Why a university in Kericho is a headache to THE University of Nairobi

By Onyinkwa O via FB

Many years ago, whilst watching a basketball match at Mombasa Polytechnic between the hosts and Makupa, a bunch of rowdy and drunken Mombasa Polytechnic fans arrived and on reading the scoreboard found two things they considered totally unacceptable. One was the scoreline which showed they were trailing by 8 points, and the other was that their team’s name read ‘Mombasa Polytechnic’, rather than ‘THE Mombasa Polytechnic’

You may consider this mundane stuff, but believe me, the match was held up for more than 30 minutes as the haggling went on with the League officials threatening to award Makupa the match and recommend disciplinary action for the Poly team. Thankfully some stencil was quickly fabricated and the missing ‘THE’ was inserted and play resumed.

I have seen this kind of ‘nomeclatural pride’ in students and alumni of ‘The University of Nairobi’ who would correct anyone using ‘Nairobi University’ to refer to their institution that theirs is the only University that uses not just ‘THE’ but also ‘OF’. Most Kenyans think that this is still the situation, but it ain’t. There is one other University in this category.

That University is ‘The University of Kabianga’ in Kericho County. Why they chose this rather curious name for a University that would have sounded easier to the ear as ‘Kabianga University’ has always left me in knots trying to figure out. It ain’t even ‘The University of Kericho’. It is ‘The University of Kabianga’!

But that ain’t even the only fascinating thing about this University’s name. The name ‘Kabianga’ ain’t Kipsigis, Kalenjin or even Nilotic. It is a Kisii name! Losely translated from ‘Ekegusii’, the name simply means ‘since they have refused’, with ‘they’ here referring to things, stuff or life.

In our long perilous journey from the Congo to our present day abode, we the Abagusii at some point settled in the area where present day Kericho sits. However, due to numerous challenges that included but were not limited to a bad climate, hostile neighbours and diseases, we threw our arms up and the towel in as we exclaimed ‘Kabianga!’, and marched on to Gusii. That is to say, that University’s name is ‘The University of Since They Have Refused’, or ‘UoSTHR’ if you like.

Details of Uhuru’s meeting with CS Matiangi, Madaraka day to be celebrated in Narok

Interior Cabinet Secretary (CS) Fred Matiang’i on Monday led the National Celebrations Committee to a State House meeting with President Uhuru Kenyatta.

The meeting was arranged to brief the head of state over the preparedness of the committee to hold this year’s Madaraka day celebration.

It was originally planned for the Madaraka day celebrations to be held at Kajiado stadium in Kajiado county, however, delay in construction work has made the President change the venue to Narok country according to a tweet by State House Kenya.

“The committee expressed concerns that the Kajiado stadium construction works may not be completed within the remaining three months as earlier envisaged. Consequently, President Uhuru Kenyatta directed that this year’s Madaraka Day Celebrations be held in Narok County” reads a statement on Twitter by State House Kenya.

They further explained the reasons for the change of venue to Narok county, stating that the move is to ensure the benefits of hosting such a big celebration remains in the same economic block.

“By moving the celebrations from Kajiado to Narok County, the Govt seeks to ensure that the benefits arising from the hosting of the national event are retained within the same economic block in line with the established trend of hosting some national events in the Counties” reads another tweet by State House Kenya.

Madaraka day is a national holiday celebrated every 1st June in Kenya to commemorate the attainment of independent self-governance.

Hilarious! Open letter to CS Amina Mohamed

By Nashon Omari
Mama,I know this may find you in your sober relaxed moods,
All through I have been knowing you as a respectable woman of great deeds,
You have always been a good example ,a role model to our girls,
A rare breed of amazing pulchritude with brains,
An attribute that most of our ladies with great physique lack,
But today,am so sad and disappointed,
Someone must have misled you.

I heard that you are soon arresting comrades with HELB default,
Comrades of which life after campus has been nothing but a nightmare,
Comrades who have been tarmacking in search of jobs,
Comrades who have first class Hons degrees as a decoration,
Comrades whom you deny jobs and employ, recycle old folks,
Comrades who have turned into petty hustlers,
This must be the biggest joke of the century.

Mama, why is it so easy to arrest poor and broke ones,
Why is it so simple to cast a jail spell on them,
Why is it so quick to make such a decision,
Yet you do not deal with corrupt cartels,
Yet those in NYS scandal are free citizens,
Yet the Eurobond saga still reigns and none gets arrested,
Mama, this is not fair at all…

See Mama, the HELB defaulters are the sons and daughters of the land,
Ones whom ‘JAB’ admitted to do courses that now CUE terms obselete,
Ones who did Bachelors Degrees in fisheries thinking they will fish money after campus but ended up fishing frustrations,
Ones whom you promised employment after campus but the famous 5 years experience keeps them asunder,

Where will they get the experience if they worketh not,
Or is there a place where you can buy experience??
Why don’t you provide jobs and see if the loans won’t get paid…
Why would you want to kill an already dead lion?
Why continue offering higher education to graduates you can’t employ??
Why Mama why??!!

Mama,I wish you could know the problems comrades go through,
They not only have HELB loan to repay,
But also Branch, Tala,Okash,Mshwari,Timiza,Fuliza, just to mention,
Tala and Branch have tried,to an extent issuing threats but in vain,
Mama, they wish to pay the loans but deep down their pockets are just dry,
Go slow on them, arresting won’t add up but help them with free inmate food.

I wish you knew first where the HELB money drained to,
Apart from the fee deducted amount,
The remaining financed all fancy comrade things,
It played a great role in sleepovers on Fridays,
It sustained campus based serial marriages,
It made clubs richer and richer daily,
So Mama if there is a place you need to go for HELB money is the Kenya Breweries,
These guys took a larger share of it,let them repay!!

Mama Amina, let me put my pen down since am tired and hungry,
Am not a comrade anyway, just a P1 teacher I have no job,I have no money, all I have is passion for arts and guts to write to you as I feel for comrades that I never got a chance to be.
Before you finalize on arresting comrades, think on their plight,
Help them get employed by creating jobs,
Convince your “Boss” to find them jobs as they promised,
I know you won’t let me down coz mothers are capable of anything.

Lastly, comrades are the Fourth arm of government,
Treat them well, help change their lives,
Finance them and encourage self employment
They are the same ones whom you use during campaigns.
Don’t forget so quick…
Thanks and hope this message gets down into your nerves.
As I told you am hungry, let me go look for ‘Chapati Surwa’.
