List of celebrity Journalists who have refused to marry, single but old!

Maina Kageni has probably heard this a thousand times, that it was time he settled down.

Many at times, his co-host King’ang’i has also rubbed it on his face.

There is no perfect time to be in a relationship or get married.

However, the only time that you can deem as perfect in being in a relationship or getting married is when you find the perfect partner for you.

Otherwise, it’s only an illusion, a fiction born out of pressure and imitating what everyone thinks or how they feel.

Below are a few media personalities who are still single and getting old:

Sheila Mwanyigah

Some years back, Sheila was known as a voice that was golden and could easily sing her companion to her life. Even though she has been bathed in male attention, she has not been able to pick one she can say ‘I do’ to. Could it be as a result of a heartbreak?

Mike Mondo

For the most part of Radio, Mike does his evening show with Terry Muikamba on Classic 105 and once in a while, he steps in for Maina Kageni in the morning show. Even though he is known for remaining anonymous about his personal life, Mike is a single dad. Ladies have caled in countless times saying how they are in love with his voice.

Maina Kageni

Maina is no news to us, for the years he has worked on radio, he has dished out good advice for couples and still cannot prove if it worked for him. We are all aware that ladies love Maina, and most probably he is more alluring to them because he is single.

Munene Nyagah

Rumours for a while has been running wild that Munene has a Mrs Right who made up his to hide from the world. Living in the leafy suburbs of Nairobi, he prefers anonymity and there’s no proof he has walked down the aisle.

Caroline Mutoko

Carol is a powerful woman, we all agree she has achieved o much as a woman and most of us can’t help but wonder how her love life would be like. She has in the past declared resistance to marriage ever since joining radio.

Eve D’Souza

Depicted as a stubborn wife in ‘Auntie Boss‘ TV show, Eve has never openly talked about her marriage. The beauty has in a past interview declared she is ready for marriage and has been waiting for Mr. Right.

Am not settling anytime soon- K24 anchor Betty Kyallo

K24 news presenter Betty Kyallo has addressed the question many of her fans have been asking.

Responding to a fan who asked when she will be getting married, she said that she is not yet ready for it.

She has been flaunting with her new partner whom she is yet to disclose his face.

She often shares photos of him with her on vacations and having fun but always avoid showing his face.

She started sharing the photos on her social media accounts after her ex-husband, Dennis Okari, moved on and wedded in a private wedding.

It is during the wedding day that Betty went for a vacation with her lover to Enashipai Resort and Spa Naivasha and flooded social media with the photos showing his hand alone.

Many are times Betty has been asked whether she is jealous of Okari moving on or whether she will also move on like him.

Talking to Jalango during her birthday, when asked whether he moved on so quick, she said he didn’t because everyone has his or her own time.

To what was judged like a way of proving to Okari that she had also moved on, she captioned a photo on her Insta stories while at the airport waiting for her man.

We won’t front Musalia Mudavadi for presidency- SG Sifuna

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has dismissed plans to front Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi under any situation.

In an exclusive interview, ODM Secretary-General Edwin Sifuna said that Mudavadi has proven repeatedly that he cannot be trusted as far as politics is concerned.

He said that the ANC leader lacks the qualities of someone the party can front for the position when that time comes, adding that the party has not run out of options to the point that they should consider him for the elective position in question.

“We (ODM), as one of the big players, are ruling out involvement in any such discussion because Mr Mudavadi has demonstrated more than once that he is not a trusted ally,” he said

The party is reportedly likely to front Mudavadi as a compromise candidate for the presidential race. President Uhuru Kenyatta’s camp has also rejected the arrangement. The team believes it is either Uhuru or Raila and not anyone else for the top seat when that time comes.

“If there will be any arrangement to have Mr Kenyatta drop his candidature, then all roads shall lead to Bondo,” Maara MP Kareke Mbiuki has said.

The remarks come at a time when Mudavadi has travelled to the US to popularise his presidential bid. He met Kenyans living in diaspora during his tour in the region. Mudavadi has affirmed that he is the right man for the job.

DP Ruto is looking for war in Kibra- MPs

William Ruto’s race for Kibra seat started with him imposing a candidate on Jubilee Party and on the people of Kibra in the name of MacDonald Mariga.
But Mariga does not vote in Kibra.
Mariga does not live in Kibra.
Mariga has never done anything for Kibra people.
Mariga has never worked with Kibra people whether in politics or general matters of welfare and development.

Kibra people have borne the brunt of political turmoil and struggles from the 1990s to date. Through those years, the people of Kibra have faced the bullet, literally. In the 2007 elections, they were killed en masse. The pattern repeated itself in 2013 and recently in 2017 when Ruto ensured the people of Kibra were gassed and beaten on a scale never seen before in their history of protests.

We know for a fact that it is Ruto’s bitterness with and contempt for Raila Odinga that was responsible for the unleashing of that massive violence on Raila’s supporters who turned up to receive Raila Odinga when he landed at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport from the USA on November 17th, 2017.

Through these struggles. Mariga was never there for Kibra. They received nothing; not water, not a slice of bread, not a bottle of soda, not payment of medical bills and not even a visit of the injured by Mariga. Not even a coffin for burying the dead.

Through those periods, the people of Kibra have done the unthinkable, including uprooting the railway line. Mariga has never been with them in that too. Ruto later came to ridicule the people of Kibra as Watu wa Kung’oa Reli.

Then, out of the blues, Ruto showed up with Mariga and started demanding that the people of Kibra vote for him. Then he is now dragging Raila Odinga’s name into the contest, talking of teaching Raila a lesson.

The pattern of events, the impunity by Ruto and the insults he is embarking on indicate just one thing: It is not elections Ruto wants in Kibra. Ruto is looking for chaos, violence and war.

That is why he is forcing the people of Kibra to vote for a man who will not vote for himself.

That is why he is forcing on Kibra a man who has never been there for them in good or bad times. It is contempt for Watu wa Kungoa Reli
That is why he is dragging Raila into this contest. Ruto wants to provoke the people of Kibra to respond to his contempt for them and for Raila and his insults so that chaos may erupt because Ruto thrives in chaos and violence.

We warn Ruto that Kibra is different. The voters here are dignified, united and principled. When they are pushed to the wall and insulted as Ruto is doing, they will respond and Ruto may just get the trouble he is looking for. He will then have himself to blame for returning the country to chaos.

Inhuman : Sarah Denied Tycoon Tob Cohen Sex For Four Years

Courtesy The Star

Sex, violence and property were at the heart the divorce between Dutchman Tob Cohen and his wife Sarah Wairimu, papers obtained by the Star show.

The court papers, exclusively obtained by the Star, paint a picture of marriage with sky-high hostilities, one that was irretrievably ruptured and had become conjugally nonexistent.

The Dutch businessman appeared to make every effort to push Wairimu out of their Lower Kabete home, the papers indicate.

Cohen went missing in July and the police found his body in an empty water tank in his home compound on September 13. It was a brutal murder.

Widow Wairimu, 52, is being held at Lang’ata Women’s Prison and is to plead to a murder charge on Tuesday.

It was the 71-year-old Cohen who first filed for the annulment of the union on January 21 under a certificate of urgency. He claimed that Wairimu had been denying him sex since 2014.

He said they were sleeping in separate bedrooms and he was preparing his own meals.

On February 25, Cohen amended the grounds for dissolution of the marriage to include cruelty and violence from Wairimu.

The Dutchman said that on one occasion Wairimu had stormed into his office, thrown water on him and warned, “Do not think that this is all; this is not over.”

He also said that four days later, Wairimu assaulting him, causing “cut wounds and multiple bruises and as a result…[I] suffered pain and agony.”

“[After pushing him off a flight of stairs]..while the applicant was lying on the ground, bleeding, the respondent came on top of him and started punching him and kicking him,” the petition by lawyer Judy Thongori reads.

Cohen urged the court to order the OCS of Spring Valley police station to evict Wairimu from their home pending the determination of the case.

In 2015, as their marriage continued to deteriorate, Wairimu put a caveat on the land to stop its sale, a copy of which the Star has obtained. Documents show that Cohen attempted to remove the caution via an application dated July 1, 2019.

Wairimu’s rejoinder

But in a rejoinder in a sworn counter-affidavit, Wairimu “admits that the marriage had irretrievably broken down but avers that the break down is on account of adultery and cruelty on the part of petitioner [Cohen].”

Asserting that she also wanted a divorce, Wairimu dismissed the claim that she was violent, arguing that this was a ploy by Cohen to paint her as a bullying spouse.

The particular attack started by Cohen was staged by him to build his divorce narrative, she said.

She also dismissed the claim of denial of conjugal rights, saying that they always shared the master bedroom except in sporadic occasions when she had been “forced to take refuge in our daughter [Renee] Gathoni’s bedroom during times when the applicant is excessively intoxicated and abusive.”

“It is only in December 2018 that the applicant started claiming that we have not been intimate for four years and I believe that the claim is intended to [be a] narrative that the marriage has broken down,” she wrote.

Their 31-year-old daughter lives in the Netherlands with her husband, the papers read.

Wairimu further said that though they would engage in sex, Cohen was highly ineffective some times failed to perform as he was an abuser of drugs and had secretly undergone a procedure that sabotaged him.

“The applicant underwent a prostrate operation which seems to have affected his ability to engage often or effectively in the manner that he did before the operation,” she claimed.

This situation made him increasingly “unreasonable, aggressive and rude and he would often come home in the early hours of the morning in an extremely intoxicated state,” Wairimu said.

She did not give the dates of the procedure or where it was performed.

The medical procedure, she claimed, resulted in Cohen engaging in an extremely erratic lifestyle with “disruptive sleeping patterns which involved kicking me at night on the claims that I snore and waking up numerous times all through the night to smoke”.

She also claimed that Cohen was a womaniser who would come home with makeup on his shirt.

Wairimu painted Cohen as a frustrated amorous old man out to evict her from their matrimonial home so he could entertain other women.

“The very intention of the petitioner is to ensure my removal from the matrimonial home so that he can have the home to himself to entertain other women of his choice as he pleases,” she writes.

She said that on one occasion while she was away, Cohen had brought another woman to their home, including the bedroom. When she asked, he responded that the woman was his future wife from Machakos, the papers read

The papers also show that Cohen was particularly angered by the reportedly secret construction of a property in Nyeri in By Wairimu.

However, the widow told the court that she never had any construction in Nyeri and that it was Cohen who had a secret construction going on in Murang’a, together with advocate Chege Kirundi.

“…there has never been anything secret about the property in Nyeri. The applicant has all along known of my ownership of one-acre piece in Nyeri. Our daughter Gathoni expressed the desire to construct a house on the said plot and I asked the applicant if he was willing to partner with her on the project but he expressed no desire at all…citing that his funds were committed to an ongoing construction project in Murang’a county which he was doing in partnership with his friend and lawyer Mr Kirundi,” she swore in the her affidavit.

Kirundi was the lawyer who presided over the opening of the Dutchman’s will last week. He did not disclose its contents.

Staking claim to their home on Lower Kabete Road, Wairimu said they had been cohabiting as man and wife since 1998, bought the land and constructed the house together.

Hence, she said she owns it as much as Cohen did.

Mariga hired crowd for Kibra function, will fail terribly

By Abraham Mutai via fb
I hate to dissapoint but about BRANDED CROWDS, some facts here for you. Weka matusi kando.

Most of the crowd is BRANDED with T-shirts and Jubilee regalia.

1. Branded crowds mean only one thing: There was a plan prior on how to get the material to all this people.

2. There was a strategy meeting. Infact there were team leaders who are tasked to distribute the T-shirts and kofias.

That’s why crowds normally arrive already branded.

3. In a strategy meeting, it means money was poured. Money for the regalia and money for those who will attend and for the strategy team leaders.

4. Therefore all factors held constant, below is a Paid crowd.

5. ODM crowds are mostly not paid crowd because 1. ODM is broke 2. They arrive with no branding. Just random people. 3. They are passionate and cheerful. These ones below look like they are forced to even smile.

The MacDonald Mariga Campaign

1. Either all these people were paid to attend the rally.

2. They attended on their own volition

3. They were shipped in from other parts of NAIROBI to create an impression and perception.

4. Crowds are not votes. We all have learnt so over time.

5. The people of Kibera are peaceful and they give a listening ear to anyone including William Ruto.

There is no merger between KANU and CCM – Hon Isaac Ruto

Chama Cha Mashinani (CCM) party leader Isaac Ruto has said his party is not in any negotiations with the KANU party.

This follows initial claims that the two have joined hands against Deputy President William Ruto in the 2022 polls, in a bid to divide the Rift Valley vote.

Speaking on K24’s Punchline show on Sunday night, Ruto made it clear that he is in no political talks that could lead in a working relationship with KANU boss Gideon Moi.

“Gideon Moi is an age mate, he has been a colleague, and we have known one another for very many years. We have no political agenda at the moment.

“CCM is a political party like KANU party. We have not had any specific structured talks with KANU,” said the former Bomet Governor.

He added there are no hopes in the revival of the National Super Alliance (NASA) where he was a co-Principal before the 2017 general polls.

The former Council of Governors (CoG) chair noted that NASA, which brought on board four other parties, was solely meant for 2017.

Consequently, after its presidential candidate Raila Odinga’s lose to President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee Party, it is over and done with.

“We feel that the main agenda for NASA was winning the 2017 election, after that there is no joined agenda to be pushed for 5 years,” added the vocal leader.

The other members of NASA were Raila’s Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), Ford Kenya, Wiper Democratic Movement (WDM) and Amani National Congress (ANC).

The alliance has deteriorated over the past few weeks owing to internal fights and exchanges between allies of the party co-principals.

William Ruto is living in denial, won’t achieve his scandalous dream

By Onyango Ochieng Jr. via fb
The biggest scandal in this nation is not WIlLIAM RUTO, it’s the fact that RUTO is in denial that he lives in denial. MAKOSA!

The horrifying situation Ruto finds himself bares the early symptoms of mental illness. He urgently needs a mental therapy before he crosses River Rubicon(A point of No Return) and start running around town naked picking rubbish from the trash bins.

By the way, Kamanda was rigged out in Jubilee. Head to head: Jaguar cannot defeat Kamanda anywhere on earth, apart from singing those kigeugeu and kifagio songs. As a result of that rigging, Kamanda was sent to parliament on a free ride. Hate him or love him, Kamanda is a tactical genius. He is also a resource mobilizer second to none, a grass roots mobilizer you need on your side. Uhuru needed Kamanda more than he will EVER need Jaguar in the next 1 BILLION years.

Ruto must know that Jubilee is dead, it’s in the grave waiting for a pastor to preside over it’s burial.

Somebody bring an elephant to fart in his ears, maybe it could wake Ruto up from this Baal-like slumber.

The darkest side of Cardinal Otunga Boys High School, Mosocho , SAD!

By Generali Osumo Jnr via fb

A short narration on my wall about one of the most prestigious academic institutions in history from Gusii, Cardinal Otunga Boys High School, Mosocho this morning has served as an eye opener to much rots at the back page of the institutions walls!

I get a text in my inbox on someone who wants me to share his experience on the similar story of molestation. What I got from him broke my heart. This is his narration:

“Hi Generali, my name is John (not his real name). I was admitted to Cardinal Otunga Mosocho on 13th of January 2012. I had all expectations that I have joined the best institution which I could Excell from since my brothers had gone through the same school and performed highly. That was never to be.

On my 1st week in school I started receiving some unique treatment from some form 3 boys. They never used to allow me to go and line up for food at the dining hall as the rest of my classmates. They served food for me and sometimes I had special meals not served in school, where they were getting the meals I don’t know. I never used to attend to manual works as the rest of of the form ones too. After a few days I came to realize that it’s not only me who was being put in such special treatment we were a number of us form ones.

One Saturday evening one of the form 3’s who had been treating me so well requested me to join him in a walk towards the farm. I agreed. When we went past the field off from the glare of everybody, he started touching me suggestively even going as far as touching my genitals. I was shocked and ran away from him.

My life in school was never the same again. I started receiving every kind of threats from prefects and everyone else. My special treatment stopped. One Sunday a prefect told me to go and clean his room as everyone else was rushing to the chapel for masses. So I had no option than to obey. As I was almost done the prefect came in and closed the door. He then ordered me to be quiet. Slowly he started caressing me and within no minute the unthinkable had been done on me!

He then threatened me not to speak to anyone about it or else he will make me expelled from school. He even offered me incentives like money and even new uniforms which I had no option but to take them. My life suddenly changed, in some few weeks to follow I was living under stress, I never spoke to anybody because I was ashamed of it anyway. Time for half term came and we went home. My parents noticed that I’d changed a lot. In the entire half term I used to close myself in my room and cry the whole day. My father tried to enquire what was happening but I never mentioned, the fear and shame in me couldn’t allow me to talk. At one time I was thinking of suicide.

After half term I went back to school and it continued as usual. The number of my senior school mates who were molesting me even increased. I even realized that it’s a normal thing now. But I was never comfortable about it. 1st term went, we came back in second term and it was the norm. What I realized is that those who were engaging in homosexuality were always living large. They were never broke at any given time and even used to sneak out of school to go and get drugs from outside.

Towards the end of 2nd term I decided that I wouldn’t keep quiet anymore. I decided to approach one of our priests at the chapel. After listening he cautioned me not to talk to anybody about it not even my parents. He told me he will investigate and make the vice stop. 1 week later I saw nothing. That is when I even realized that some of the homosexuals received so much protection from the teachers, non teaching staff and even the church leaders.

We closed in second term and went home. Without realizing I had now become an homosexual. During the holidays I attempted to molest one of my cousins at home unfortunately he reported me. I received a dogs beating from my dad and locked for 2 days in my room. This time nobody wanted to listen to me. I decided to commit suicide. I took excessive hospital drugs and lied there to die. Luckily one of my sisters came and raised alarm, I was rushed to the hospital for 1st aid and I survived.

After that I was taken in for guiding and counseling sessions where I decided to narrate the whole story to the counsellor. I was immediately put under medication and my parents advised never to take me back to Cardinal Otunga. 3rd term I was transferred to a day school near our home and never stepped foot in Cardinal Otunga. It was difficult for me to get out of the homosexual thoughts though but I struggled to cope. Even in my new school I could get attracted to my fellow male classmates but I struggled not to mess again.

Today, I’m in my forth year in one of the one of the best University in the country persuing Bio-chemistry. I thank God I managed to get out of that evil of homosexuality. I got touched by the post I just read on your timeline about my former school and I thought I should share my story to make the world know that these things are real and they are happening. Am happy I had an opportunity to share my story the world.

Kindly share but please hide my identity.”

…..ends!!

Exposed: Homosexuality rooted in some Kisii county high schools

By Osumo General via fb
I touched on the cases of homosexuality in one of our schools in Kisii County and the reactions I’m getting back are shocking. Ladies seem to be shocked but some men are condemning me for highlighting what they call as normal!

I’m not surprised. I know these things happen since they used to happen some years back when I was schooling at Kisii School. I don’t know if it’s the bush in me which has never allowed me to see those things as normal.

Homosexuals are now everywhere and very daring. Am not ashamed to say that I almost killed a certain idiot 2 weeks ago in one of the newly established entertainment joints in Kisii town when he openly at the glare of my friends grabbed my genitals and whispered to my ears that he likes me. A man, how now! Hell no!! In no minute he had received like 1001 blows. Was it that I was with good enough masculine friends I would have been killed by a group of men who were with that idiot. So does it mean I was supposed to assume and walk away when a man openly sexually assaults me! I’m still in shock!

I’m now getting that the LGBT is a well coordinated cult, mostly funded by international organizations under the veil of activists groups are recruiting young men and women in secrecy and under oath. They are sponsoring their activities, expensive lifestyles under rights of LGBT. Over the last decade this has been happening and is going on at a rapid rate in the name of having large numbers of millennials who will influence decision making at various levels of the government such that LGBT rights will be another monster for African governments until they are recognized fully owing to their increased numbers.

In Nairobi and all major towns in Kenya are densthe all these devilish activities in sub sahara Africa! We no longer have a generation. Not me, not my kids or anybody close to me. Let the bush live in me forever but I will not allow that happen, at least not as I am breathing. Oooh no!

May the Good Lord come down and take us home now!

DP Ruto rubbishes Uhuru’s BBI team, says it will fail

Deputy President William Ruto has said those pushing for the change of the Constitution through the backdoor would not succeed.
He said if there must be any review of the Constitution, it has to be people-driven.
Speaking at Kidudu Stadium and Ivona Secondary School grounds in Vihiga County during two separate interdenominational prayer services on Sunday, Dr. Ruto said matters pertaining to the review of Constitution required the input of all Kenyans.
The Deputy President said the process must be people-centred, and, therefore, should add value to Kenyans.
He challenged those pushing for the amendment of the current laws to learn from the Punguza Mizigo Initiative, which is being rejected by Kenyans for failing to incorporate their voices.
“It is the people who can decide whether to change the Constitution or not. It is Kenyans who have the final say on issues of changing the Constitution; not a few individuals,” explained the Deputy President.
He noted that Kenyans were now preoccupied with issues of development, adding that those engaging in politics of changing the Constitution would not disrupt the Jubilee’s development agenda.
“Constitutional change should not be about seats and political power. We want solid and open conversation about issues that would better the lives of Kenyans,” said Dr Ruto.
He was accompanied by MPs Benjamin Washiali (Mumias East), Bernard Shinali (Ikolomani), Charles Gimose (Hamisi), John Waluke (Sirisia), Geoffrey Omuse (Teso South), Didmus Barasa (Kimilili), Oscar Sudi (Kapseret), Caleb Kositany (Soy) and Johana Ngeno (Emurua Dikirr).
Others were former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale, former Vihiga Governor Moses Akaranga, former Sports CS Rashid Echesa and former Vihiga MP Yusuf Chanzu.
Later in Kapseret during another interdenominational prayer service, the Deputy President asked politicians to spare the country from the endless political theatrics about power sharing.
He said Kenyans were more interested on service delivery that would transform their lives.
“We cannot continue discussing about how we will share power or create positions all the time. That is selfish and unreasonable. For the sake of all Kenyans, let us shelve all these debates and serve the people,” Dr Ruto explained.
At the same time, the Deputy President urged leaders to put aside their political differences and take a common stand on matters affecting the people.
The leaders present called on ANC Leader Musalia Mudavadi and his Ford-Kenya counterpart Moses Wetangula to work with the Government in furthering the country’s development.
They accused the two leaders of lacking the will, stamina and commitment on the much-talked-about Luhya unity.
“We want to speak in one language of unity across the Luhya community,” said Mr Khalwale.
Mr Washiali asked Luhya leaders to unite and position the community in Government, saying the region cannot afford to remain in the opposition.
“As a community, we should work together ahead of 2022. Our brothers (Mudavadi and Wetangula) have been leading us to the opposition leaving us as outsiders in Government. We should now embrace leaders who can ensure we are part of the next government,” said Mr Washiali.
On his part, Mr Shinali wondered why Mr Musalia and Mr Wetangula had fielded different candidates in the Kibra by-election instead of using the opportunity to display the Luhya solidarity.
Mr Khalwale said the Luhya community is ready to unite and walk in one direction for the sake of the region’s prosperity.
Meanwhile, Mr Waluke called on Mr Mudavadi and Mr Wetangula to team up with Dr Ruto ahead of the 2022 polls.
Kimilili legislator asked leaders to discard the archaic politics of division, and channel their energy on empowering Kenyans.

Uhuru jets back after a shameful U.S trip

President Uhuru Kenyatta sneaked back into the country on the morning of Sunday, September 29, after what appeared to be a dramatic trip in the United States.

According to The Standard, very few, officials from the state went to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to receive him when he landed at around 10:30 AM.

The president had left the country on Wednesday, September 18, for Singapore before heading to the US to attend the 74th United Nations General Assembly.

In Singapore, Uhuru attended a meeting that focused on business, finance and geopolitics which brought together governments and private sector around the world.

It was in US, however, where the drama began with the most notable being between him and Somalian President Mohamed Farmajo, over the contested maritime.

In an earlier report by Kenyans.co.ke, the two presidents had agreed to normalise ties without any effect on the maritime border case at the International Court of Justice (ICJ).

On Thursday, September 26, Farmajo, used his inaugural United Nations speech to dismiss the call for talks with Kenya over the maritime row.

Farmajo stated that the matter was in court and that the International Court of Justice (ICJ) should be the ultimate arbiter because talks between the two countries had collapsed.

That was despite Uhuru’s willingness to engage in other dispute resolution mechanisms, emphasising on dialogue.

Somalia had filed the boundary delimitation dispute on August 28, 2014, staking a claim on an estimated 62,000 square miles oil-rich triangle in the Indian Ocean.

Somalia wanted the sea border extended along the land border, a plea which if granted threatened to limit Kenya’s access to its Indian Ocean shore, technically rendering the country landlocked.

The border dispute between the two countries also threatened to hamper efforts in the continuing construction of a border wall, the fight against piracy, as well as against Al Shabaab.

The border brawl resulted in several back and forths causing various ugly occurrences.

On May 12, 2019, the Kenyan Government suspended all direct flights from Somalia into the country citing security concerns.

Director of the KCAA, Captain Gilbert Kibe, affirmed to the BBC that visitors from Somali’s capital Mogadishu or any other part of the war-torn country would no longer be able to fly directly to the Kenyan Capital.

Later on, the diplomatic row between the two countries took a nosedive after three top officials from the war-ravaged nation were denied entry at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).

During the trip, the president was also drumming for support in Kenya’s quest to have one of the non-permanent seats on the United Nations Security Council scheduled for June next year.

Kimwarer dam was marred with corruption- Hon Isaac Ruto

Former Bomet governor Isaac Rutto has supported President Uhuru Kenyatta’s decision to cancel Kimwarer dam project.

Ruto observed that Uhuru was justified in his decision since the document from the committee experts showed that the area had a fault line.

“When I looked at the document he used, I will agree with him that is the best decision an executive can do. I think it is the Kimwarer dam which has a fault line. How do you build a dam with a fault line?” Posed Rutto.

The former head of governors was speaking on Sunday night when he appeared at K24 Tv Punchline show.

“The President has been given the Executive report by experts…You cannot continue to perpetuate a problem. Uhuru should get down to the bottom of this problem. Who are the engineers who approved this thing? How did they develop it knowing there was a fault line? dam? And this excessive overpricing how did it happen?” posed Rutto.

The former head of governors faulted the team which approved the project, wondering how they went ahead to approve it without considering all its shortcomings. He observed that they should be held accountable for the same.

While justifying the need for a parliamentary system of governance in Kenya, Ruto maintained that if this was a parliamentary system of government, whoever was in charge of the executive would have been censured Parliament.

Rutto also took swipes with Murkomen accusing him of insincerity in his quest to have the project continued.

“What would Murkomen say if there is a fault line. It is immaterial where engineers come from. If a doctor is asked to do a postmortem, they are all the same, it doesn’t matter if the doctor is from the Himalayas,” stated Rutto.

Leaders from the region have been challenging the report, particularly Senator Murkomen who criticized the make-up of the technical committee that came up with the report.

Murkomen said the technical committee came from the same region and that the people of Elgeyo-Marakwet have been denied their right and discriminated against.

In the past, the Deputy President had viciously defended the two dams on the allegations of corruption. According to Ruto, only 7 billion shillings were in question as compared to the 21 billion that is being said to have gotten lost.

How KTDA has been stealing from tea farmers

KTDA handles between 160 million and 200 million kilos of processed tea annually. About 60% of that processed tea is sold at Mombasa Tea Auction on Tuesdays all year round, where crooked, opaque and corrupt ‘price discovery’ is done.

The other 40% is handled through private arrangements where certain players are given wealth on a silver platter. The 40% private arrangement is handled by the marketing department. They give tea to a Mombasa subsidiary of KTDA called Chai Trading Limited and some international players like Lipton which buys around 100 million kgs annually from KTDA. Chai trading Company even has an Office in Dubai. It is treated as a non-KTDA entity which is just fraud.

The Auction is the first instance where the subsistence Tea farmer is conned. Big multinationals and Chai Trading suppress the auction prices by bidding rock bottom prices. So brokers are unable to sell them the tea below reserve prices.

Therefore when the multinationals and Chai Trading fail to get tea at rock-bottom extortion prices, they go to Marketing Department on Wednesdays where they are offered the tea at rock bottom prices.

Chai Trading Limited deals mostly in premium tea grown in the region known as east of Rift Valley which is Kiambu,Muranga, Nyeri, Kirinyaga,Embu and Meru. No guessing what happens behind the curtain and who in KTDA personally benefits.

Sri Lanka had the same problem. To sort out the mess similar to what is happening today in Mombasa, they decreed that all tea must pass through the auction. The result? Farmers in Sri lanka today earn double those of Kenya despite our Tea being of better quality.

Tea farming in Kenya is on its death bed because the Farmer is not benefiting from his sweat and is uprooting the crop. This is a consequence of corruption at KTDA. Most factories do not even do proper Audits and lose a lot of money from this thuggish Chai Trading Limited outfit.

To stop the Kenyan Tea Farmer from uprooting tea in his farm, the following measures must be put in place quickly.

1. In our Constitution, Agriculture is a devolved function. Therefore KTDA (Kenya Tea Development Agency LTD ) should be disbanded. The National Government and County Governments must have control of a new and transparent KTDA (Kenya Tea Development Corporation) where in the board would seat members directly answerable to farmers who sit in the Senate, County Assemblies.Farmers can also Sell KTDA on the secuitity exchange like Safaricom or Kenya Airways. The resulting transparancy will make it more efficient
The same to Kenya Pipeline Company and other parastatals

2. The side kick company called KTDA Holdings must sell all assets belonging to farmers and distribute the money among all farmers on pro rata basis. Assets include Real estate in Nairobi and Mombasa, speculation land etc and close down the Dubai Office.

3. All Tea grown in Kenya must go through the Auction, including from Private Kericho farms where Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) must be losing scores of billions in transfer Pricing by Lipton (100 million kgs of Tea exports from Kericho).

4. Factory boards must be overhauled for acting against the wishes of farmers. For example, the boards have allowed KTDA head Office to force them to pay salaries of KTDA staff posted from Nairobi. They have also agreed to pay all taxes incurred by KTDA head office in Nairobi.

5. KTDA must be opened up for competition. At the least, 3 firms should be acting for farmers so that prices can go up.

6. Tea at the auction is paid after 9 days. However the tea from Chai Trading is mostly paid for after 2 or 3 months. Sometimes even after half an year. So it is possible to buy premium Kenyan tea at Chai Trading, sell it, then buy oil from Iran, sell the oil and buy wheat to sell from Khazakstan before paying the farmer for his produce. Chai Trading must be abolished and corruption investigated.

7. The management fees that KTDA charges farmers is too high at 2.5% of turnover. It should be reduced to 1% because the core business of KTDA is to manage tea of 650,000 farmers who have 5 million dependents. This 2.5% is wastage where each of the 12 directors are paid 2 million per month.

8. Tea at the auction is paid for after 9 days. So the farmer can be paid weekly. KTDA keeps the money to pay bonus after 1 year so that the bosses can earn kickbacks from banks to deposit the money in fixed deposit accounts.

In summary ,KTDA is a very badly run cartel. For example kshs 4 billion of farmers money has been lost in collapsed banks. Corruption is entrenched at Chai Trading. And insider trading. Tenders are won by insiders. KTDA elections are also shambolic and opaque.
Is it any wonder that one Mombasa broker has bribed his way to selling half of KTDA factory teas at the auction?

KTDA controls over kshs 60 billion of farmers money and must be regulated like banks. An international Audit firm must look at the books of KTDA since year 2000 to find out the amount of money farmers have lost to fraud.

Additionally, Tea auctions should be done at Sagana Railway Junction so that importers make their own arrangements on how to transport their cargo. Today, KTDA transports the Tea all the way to Mombasa at the cost of farmers. This is fraudulent because kickbacks are given by truck owners to KTDA staff.

The CS for Agriculture knows that he needs to implement two Tea Task Force reports but has avoided this eventuality. Why?

Profiling and discrimination at UN headquarters by U.S secret service

ALERT LONG INTERESTING POST!!!

PROFILING AND DISCRIMINATION AT THE UN HQ BY US SECRET SERVICE.

By Isaac Mwaura

I am here feeling very
awful about an incident that has happened 3 times at the United Nations Headquarters. I have mulled about talking about it and have struggled a lot, but as Martin Luther King Jr said “our lives begin to end when we keep silent about things that matter”.

So while back at home my social media team uses a wrong photo for a #Tbt that I only came to learn about 7 hrs later, and social media bloggers cannot have enough of it, here in New York, where am attending the UN General Assembly for the first time, something even more bizarre has happened.

On Wednesday, I was busy rushing to take my seat at a Kenyan side event on Peace, organized by our permanent mission here and the ministry of foreign affairs. True to it, I get in to the building and check in at the security. I do the ussual stuff of emptying my pockets, then I go through the machine and they do a body search. Then am told to step aside and am kept waiting for over 30 minutes. The secret serving agents ask for my ID and by this time, they have picked my entry card. I give them my national ID and NHIF card as further proof of my identity. They tell me that they are looking for someone who fits my description and then they go like, the photo is for the same person but the names don’t match. By now I ask them why they are questioning. me. They say that there is someone who looks like me who is walking around with ‘a screw driver’. I am like seriously!!! In the US people are allowed to own and carry guns, and here we are talking of a screw driver? By this time I feel profiled and discriminated upon on the basis of both albinism and racial Origin. I wonder loudly that this cannot be happening at the UN headquarters, the home of the universal bill of rights. By now they are embarrassed. I offer to leave but they refuse to let me go. The white men now call a black guy who helps to calm the situation. He takes me to his office in some basement and introduces himself as Eric. He hands over his card to me and I give him mine. He is Eric Bramwell, Lieutenant, Officer in charge of Investigative Unit, Security and Safety Service. So by this time he offers to take me to my next assignment, listening to H.E President Uhuru Kenyatta as he delivers his address to the UN General Assembly. I don’t have my access card still and Eric calls to ask if anyone was left with it. Then all
of a sudden, out of the blues, he fishes it out of his pocket in a rather embarrassing manner. So he takes me to the GA hall but I opt to first get into the Kenyan side event, after bumping in to Nairobi Senator, Johnson Sakaja, who I hadn’t met earlier on. This is seems to give Eric some validity about my identity. So I get in there and meet with PS Macharia Kamau, Monica Jum, minister for foreign affairs and Kenyan ambassador to the AU. We discuss how Kenya can take up the role of the African Union Special Envoy on albinism, a position that I helped push under the mandate of I.K. Ero, the UN independent Expert on the enjoyment of the rights of persons with albinism. The latter is a position that was established by the UN itself in order to deal with gross human rights violations against us after the wave of killings witnessed in many places especially in Africa.
Soon after, I join my parliamentary colleagues briefly, before we are ushered in to the GA plenary hall. As I get in and other Kenyans rush to say hi, I am pulled aside by Eric, who now refers to me as Senator Dr. He is with the head of security at the UN Mr Kevin O Hanlon who has come to apologize in person. He explains that it wasn’t his team that did it but the secret service agents. I leave the matter to rest.

At the podium, it’s the turn of President of Guatemala, who is railing the UN system, for various acts of omission and commission in his country. Next is Kenyan turn and our President delivers a compelling speech that receives rare applause as compared to other presidents. We walk out and say hi to him. He invites us to a private meeting later on. As this is happening, the Kenyan Ambassador to the UN Hon Lazarus Ameyo walks up to me and informs me that he has received an apology from the UN about what had happened.

Later on at the entrance of the venue of our meeting with the President, Hotel Latte, my other colleagues are ushered in while get questioned. The secret service takes my card again while others start taking photos of me secretly with their phones. When I see them, I say a cheeky hi to them. My colleagues have to explain again that I am senator from Kenya, when one of the asks ‘who is this guy?’ As if that is not enough, a secret service agent follows us up into the lift while looking at me suspiciously. So when the President finally comes in, he asks me if am Al shabaab, Mujaheden or the Chairman of the National Riffles Association ( NRA). I explain to him that ‘those people really harassed me’. We let the matter lie and continue with our meeting.

So yesterday I tried accessing my hotel on 51st street and gave my UN accreditation card at the checkpoint. I was again stopped and told to step aside!!! The calls were made once again and the whole process began all over, this being the 3rd time. I couldn’t take it anymore!!! I reminded the secret service agent that he himself was a person of color and that I was a senator from Kenya. He was rude to asking me if I was a US senator. I told him he wasn’t the most important security agent and that he should step aside. Anyway I was allowed in after a state house official found me at the entrance and explained to them that I am a senator from Kenya. On my way out, I meet Mutahi Ngunyi, the Kenyan Political Science Professor and we had a chat. Again this seemed to give the secret service validity about my presence. So in my mind I think to myself, I am not good enough to be believable right? That I can only get validation from other people? More-so, the explanations given about screw drivers didn’t add up. I tried asking the secret service agents, this time two women who had come to talk to me to show me the photo of the person that they were looking for but they didn’t have one!!! To them, it was just someone with albinism, and so I fitted their description and who allegedly, kept on following some unknown king. I told them that by now they should have circulated my image so that their system could differentiate between myself and their supposed target. It was at that point that one of them took a photo of my card.

I later on saw an apology via whatssup by the US ambassador to Kenya Amb Kyle, Mcarter. He had sent it to me before the but the 3rd incident had taken place.

You know, a good number of western movies cast persons with Albinism, as villains, with pale white skin and red eyes, with dangerous supernatural powers. So in the subconscious of these white secret agents, I was a typical representation of such a villain!!! , one description, fits all ‘albinos. To them, anyone who looked like me was more dangerous as long as he was walking around with a screw driver to harm any of the 157 heads of states/govts, of which 15 of those were high targets.

So Here I was at the UN HQ itself where only in June this year, an idea that I birthed last year at the same venue, came to be, that of celebrating the International Albinism Awareness Day on 13th June at the UN itself for the first time in the history of the 74 year body!! The celebrations attracted the biggest ever at the UN.

As a result, my image is pinned on the cover page of the authoritative global magazine, Albinism Insight, and my speech is quoted in there as a key highlight of the event. I was rallying my fellow PWAs to rise to the occasion, extolling the fact that Albinism will always be ‘thrown at them’ for their success or failure. That we are suffer because of ‘in-betweenes’ since we are white but not white enough, black but not black enough, disabled but not disabled enough. In the speech, I emphasized the need for self definition in order for us not to see ourselves from our own lenses and not from those of others who want to define us as they see us.

So later on I am able get my way back to 51st street, and hold a meeting my friend Jennifer Renee, a member of the African American Albinism Awareness Association (AAAAA). I had met her earlier on in June, during a campaign dubbed ‘colorful’, which was organized by the New York Dermatology Group (NYDG), together Diandra Forest, the famous African American model with albinism. Renee goes ahead to narrate to me how it was hard to grow up as a PWA In a predominantly black society in America, and how her peers used to joke that she wanted to be a black girl, yet she is white, and how her brother, who speaks proper English better than her, had white friends, and which was in contrast to her and her many black friends!!! She explained to me in detail, how it’s hard for her to find work since she is legally blind, and how her children were taken away from her ostensibly because she could put them in danger due to her low vision!!! Raymond Forest, a brother Diandra, was employed as a security advisor, was forced to hide every time some certain lady walked in to the office, because she was scared of him. Can you imagine!!! that feeling of unwantedness, illegitimacy, and the coercion to apologize for just being there!!!

So yes, currently, I could be the only and most visible senator and legislator with Albinism in the whole world, thanks be to GOD, the Constitution of Kenya 2010, my advocacy for our rights and the pursuit of politics as the art of the possible; coupled with the tutelage of patriarchs such Anyang’ Nyong’o, Raila Odinga and Uhuru Kenyatta. Connected by a dream to make change in order to create space and awareness through film and the arts, throughby Lupita Nyong’o’s In My Genes-documentary, where I feature as an aspiring politician, the battle is yet to be conquered. However, no matter the daunting task, our dreams are valid!!!!

Africa, a continent that suffered slavery and discrimination, a land that has witnessed the killings of over 600 of its sons and daughters with albinism, most of them women and children in over 29 countries and counting, Africa, where some witchdoctors and false prophets have duped many people that our body parts can make them rich! Africa must rise to demonstrate to the World that people who look like myself, can have a seat at the table. That instead of being turned away at the gates of the UN General Assembly, and Hotel palaces of Kings and heads of govts, they shall one day occupy such places address gatherings and deliver speeches. That they shall have validity to inspire others to attain the highest possible ideals of human excellences and endeavors, so that no child born today shall be stopped 3 times at the gates of decision making and opportunities, because they were seen to be less deserving, to affirm to world that even them, their dreams are valid!!

As Nelson Mandela said, “when you climb one hill, you realize that there are several others to climb”.

Martin Luther King Jr dreamt of the day black little boys would hold hands with white little girls. He possibly never imagined about the discrimination of persons with albinism, a people born white , who who are treated the same’ no matter their race, religions ethnic origin. In the business of cherry picking, they are left out as the bad ones!!

To those out there who are struggling with a sense of belonging, I want to tell you that, Many times we doubt whether we can rise to the occasion when called upon, but If we can be, we shall be, and if we are to be, we will be..”

Keep going!!!

Take your Children to schools you can afford, Governor Sonko to parents

By Mike Sonko via fb
Morning it’s 3:03 am Nairobi hatulali.Put your kids in schools you can afford (expensive schools doesn’t guarantee good results) Just ensure they attend a good affordable school. Most importantly have time and give them good training at home.

Rent apartments you can pay for conveniently, don’t live in a house you struggle to pay yearly. That’s a source of stress. If it doesn’t break you down it will break your marriage.

A man whose wife is pregnant has good 9 months to prepare, so also is the pregnant woman in question. They should even plan for the worse and only seek help when they can’t meet up.

Some problems in our lives don’t just pop up, 12 months ago, we knew we would pay rents… So its not an emergency…

Let’s plan our lives and live within our means. Save more and spend less, some women buy food for their children every morning before going to school, do you know it’s cheaper to cook at home? Some buy every dress that is nice to them and also buy shoe and bag to match.

Some people who don’t earn much, but have DSTV at home, go for Star Times and upgrade when your income upgrades. It’s still the same BBC and Nat Geo.

Eat healthy meals and protect your family from mosquitoes to avoid going to the hospital always. Take advantage of food and fruits in season, its cheaper and you can be creative to create amazing meals.

Don’t copy Aunty Ama’s style of cooking soup, she earns well and her husband is a ‘big man’.

We stress ourselves trying to achieve and accomplish so many things at ago especially if its above our means. For instance going to school, keeping a home and family, building and renting, personal business, church activities etc all at the same time. Life is step after the other. Death will eventually be our end.

When buying a car buy one that is fuel efficient and corresponds with your salary. Don’t follow the trend. All you need is a means of convenient and reliable transportation not a source of additional stress.

Don’t follow trends, wear clean well ironed clothes and keep your hair neat. You would still slay.

*Keep your circle small, keep only friends that have sense!*

Planning is key, if we plan properly we might not need to ask anyone for anything.

Above all things, have the fear of God, have integrity, don’t be lazy and be prayerful. Finally be empathetic to the suffering of others.

Prioritise and not live above your means, the Jones live next door and not a part of your budget! Be wise not daft!

Equity bank hit with another scandal, stealing from a grandmother Lydia Wamae

By Dennis Itumbi via fb

Dear Equity Bank Kenya,

Lydiah has a story that you should solve by end of day for the sake of her Grandmother.

It is a story that started in 1991 and stands unresolved, I can only describe it as a painful, unfair and heartbreaking

Lydiah narrates;

My grandmother Lydia Wamae is one of the most loyal customers of Equity Bank.

She is among the few who saw the dream and grew with Equity, from those days when it was Equity Building Society.

As the receipts, (attached) show, she bought a piece of land through the bank at Githurai Kimbo.

Shee was operating from Karatina branch, that was in the early 90s.

0mY grandmother got a plot number and the whole land was to be subdivided, hers was an 1/8 of an acre.

After she finished paying for the land , she never got the Land or the Title.

Years passed and in the Late 90s she was still following up on the matter and there are documents showing her paying some amounts to the Commissioner Of Lands on the same land.

In 2004 she went to bank and got a loan from them using that land as security.

The fact that the bank accepted it as a security, confirmed that the land was legit.

Grandma repaid back the loan but still never got any title or possession of her land.

All she has had in her possession is copies of documents and receipts.

It has been a cat and mouse chase, when she could she tried to follow up the matter and was invited to offices in Nairobi but other than giving her 1k at one time to use as bus fare back home – nothing materialized.

My cousins and I have been trying to follow up on the issue.

I once wrote to Equity bank through their social media (Facebook) and was told to see a gentleman at their Muindi Mbingu branch who later referred me to a person at their Upperhill Office.

The person I saw there at their legal department explained that the land issue had gone to court and matter finalised and he would follow up on my grandmother’s case and call me.

I left both my contacts and hers but never heard from the guy.

From our experience following up this issue we concluded they just promise to follow up and call back but do not mean it and the bank has no will to compensate my cucu.

If my grandmother had the strength she would have taken a legal action but she is now in her 80s, her health is failing, old age is catching up,she has been diabetic for the last 15years,รฝ has arthritis.

A mention of Equity bank leaves a very bitter taste in her mouth, she has since closed her account

Sad. Share widely.

God Bless You all

How a lady almost trapped me with sexy full body massage in Lavington

By Tongola Mate via fb

MASAIBU!

I went to Lavington where a friend had recommended some good and affordable office space for Maleek’s Courier.

On arrival, my to-be landlord was held up in a bank and asked me to keep myself busy as I wait for him.

To buy time, I took a walk around the mini shopping center as I admired the well done and manicured lawns. I loved the serenity.

I later found myself in a nearby Barber Shop. It was a she shaving me. First time. Felt like I was cheating on Mutua, my local barber.

After the shave, I was taken to the sink where Naima (According to her badge dangling on her blouse with the top two buttons ‘unchained’).

What followed was some deep tissue massage on my head and neck and slightly shoulders. I could feel her warm fingers going deeper towards my chest.

Hey! Mtume na asimame!

I don’t know how it happened but I must have dozed off. I was taken ‘back stage’ in some tiny room where Naima asked me to undress so that I could get some serious full body massage.

She lied that my eyes resembled a tired man.

My shirt was unbottoned. My chest bare. I unbuckled my belt and as my trousers were halfway my knees…the Indian dude texted to announce that he was almost leaving the bank.

Here I was, confused. Holding onto my wallet tightly and guarding it as if my whole life depended on it.

Did Tongola Mate fall into Naima’s tempting hands or pick his new landlord’s call?….

PART 2

MASAIBU continued…

‘On the last episode of Masaibu…’ (insert the voice over of Jack Bauer’s 24 series) lol

I texted the Indian landlord saying I would be running late since I had ran into an emergency.

“You knocked someone?” He replied on my iPhone 11.

“๐Ÿ˜” I responded.

“Why the laughter?” He asked

“Sorry, I meant am at the dentist, a stone throw away from the Lavington shopping center” I lied.

Naima was almost bursting. I could literally see her coronary artery (from her loosely unchained blouse) slowly but gradually expanding due to suppressed laughter.

I switched off my serpent black gadget and placed it in a drawer right on my left.

Here I was, son of Tongola, standing infront of a stranger of the opposite sex, half naked. Just boxers, shirt dangling from a hanger across the tiny room – due to the fan that was at half speed. Trousers folded too.

No socks.

Only my checked boxers between me and my birthday suit.

My heart was palpitating at a neck break speed. I could see the arteries in the interventricular septum fighting to pump blood to my head.

Naima went out of the room to collect more massage oil. She came back in a split second impulse. Ok am not sure if it took a second or hour but yeah, I was twitchy.

‘This is it Tongola Mate’ words escaped my lips. She heard me…

Just when she was almost laying her soft arms on my back, I jumped!

“I just remembered I have to send someone Mpesa for a parcel to be delivered through Maleek’s Courier, Please hand me my phone…”

CTV anchor Yvonne Okwara ridicule Esther Passaris on collapsed school building

Citizen TV anchor Yvonne Okwara, on Thursday, put Nairobi Woman Representative, Esther Passaris, in her place over the Precious Talents School tragedy.

Okwara, during Citizen TV‘s News Gang show, stated that Passaris was wrong to have remarked that the disaster was just an accident which couldn’t have been prevented.

“With all due respect madam, this was not an accident. A building that did not pass the safety requirements collapsed. It was not an accident.

“Some people dropped the ball. Someone or some people should be held responsible,” noted the senior journalist.

The tough-talking Okwara further ridiculed Passaris for stating that the only way to address such tragedies was to learn from the mistakes.

“Which lessons are these that you want us to learn from exactly?

“How many years shall we take to learn this lesson?”

“How many lives will it cost us while we ‘learn’ from our mistakes? Didn’t we learn from the previous buildings collapsing from this city?” questioned Okwara.

The former KTN news anchor reminded the vocal Passaris that a report which was commissioned by President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2015, revealed that 42 per cent of the buildings in Nairobi were inhabitable.

She also pointed out that Passaris had been present during the June 2018 disaster, where a building in Huruma area collapsed killing 2 people.

On Tuesday, the social entrepreneur, together with other two politicians, Dagoretti South MP John Kiarie and Nominated Senator Milicent Omanga, were referred to as disaster celebrities by the Royal Media Services-owned station.

The three were highlighted as leaders who only showed up when there was a disaster, in contrast to how they deal with other problems affecting the residents of Nairobi.

Passaris, on her part, defended herself stating she was doing her duty as a leader.

Omanga, on Wednesday, had called for the Dennis Prit located media company to give an apology to the three leaders over the damning allegation.

Aukot’s Arrogance is killing Punguza Mizigo bill

Third-way Alliance leader Ekuru Aukot on Thursday, September 26, blamed President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga for killing his Punguza Mizigo initiative.

With only 20 days left for the bill to be debated on before being tabled in parliament, 39 counties are yet to consider the bill.

“I am actually glad the state machinery employed unorthodox ways including bribery to fight the Bill,” Aukot stated stressing that the Bill exposed a selfish political class that survived on the suffering of the majority poor.

Uhuru and Raila at a past function. Their championing of the rival Building Bridges Initiative has Thirdway Alliance leader Ekuru Aukot accusing them of instructing MCAs to steer clear of debating it.

Aukot rebuked Kenya’s top political class for what he termed selfishness and a disregard for the needs of the majority.

After visiting 23 counties, Aukot claimed that the MCAs he came in contact with confided in him that they were bribed to trash the Bill – an indirect accusation against President Kenyatta and Odinga.

The former presidential aspirant added that counties in Nyanza region had refused to consider the bill and that he was not going to ‘waste time’ touring the region.

“These politicians are only keen to retain power or create positions for themselves. These are political elites who use taxpayers’ money to bribe MCAs,” he spoke of Nyanza’s leaders.

If the bill was to be passed, each ward would receive at least Ksh100 million for development.

“Why would any MP, governor, senator and even president be opposed to more development money going to the villages?” Aukot posed.

Aukot could get a few consolatory wins. In Elgeyo Marakwet, where Deputy Speaker Christopher Chemosong said ward reps might unanimously pass the Bill.

“Punguza Mizigo has provisions that favor ordinary citizens. The Building Bridges Initiative is likely to propose the creation of more positions in Government and Kenyans don’t want that,” Chemosong observed.

Nandi County Speaker, Joshua Kiptoo was of the view that the push for constitutional reforms was political. “William (Deputy President William Ruto) has already caused damage to the BBI proposals and some counties would support Punguza Mizigo to oppose the BBI.”

Kericho County is likely to pass the bill during the October 8 scheduled debate, according to majority Leader Hezron Ng’etich. So is Turkana, after Speaker Ekitela Lokaale said the locals would support their own.

In Kilifi, Majority Leader Kadenge Mwathethe said most residents had endorsed the bill, adding that it was good for the country.

Taita Taveta County is likely to endorse the bill according to Majority Leader Jason Tuja because it would increase the share of revenue to counties from the current 15% to 35% if passed.

Lawyer Charles Kanjama stated that it was not yet over for the bill.“He (Aukot) can go to court and seek an extension of time and compel the county speakers to debate and vote for his bill.”

Kanjama added that Aukot could also seek a political solution by talking to politicians to back him up, or wait for it to collapse and start afresh…though the exercise of collecting signatures takes time and money.

List of counties likely to support Ekuru Aukot’s Punguza Mizigo bill

It now appears like Thirdway Alliance Party leader Ekuru Aukot might have it very hard realizing his push for constitutional amendments, through his Punguza Mizigo bill.

The former presidential aspirant has been popularizing his bill in county assemblies, where he needs the backing of at least 24 for the bill to move to the next level.

However, the bill has so far been considered by only 8 of the 47 assemblies, 7 of which have rejected it, with details indicating that only 6 more might pass it.

The Standard has established that only Elgeyo Marakwet, Nandi, Kericho, and Taita Taveta County Assemblies are likely to pass it.

This, added to the Uasin Gishu County Assembly which has since passed it, will bring the count to seven, for a bill seeking to merge constituencies and reduce the numbers of MPs.

But Aukot now says that the government is behind the rejections of his bill, accusing the nation’s top leadership of using underhand methods to frustrate it.

“I am actually glad that the State machinery and unorthodox ways, including bribery, are employed to fight the Bill. It means we are up to big things. It has also exposed a selfish political class that survives on the suffering of the majority poor,” he said on Thursday as quoted by Standard.

The bill is facing stiff competition from another referendum push led by ODM chief Raila Odinga, with the backing of President Uhuru Kenyatta, which seeks to introduce more executive posts.

And while Uhuru is yet to open up on the Punguza Mizigo debate, Raila is on record urging Kenyans to shun it and await a report from the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) taskforce.

Osoro would not let this go unanswered. He clicked on the comment box and said that Matiang’i was a ‘super CS’ and therefore he should have drawn a super crowd.

He further said that he draws more crowds in his constituency yet he is just an MP.

“I dont see a crowd here. I pull such ‘groups’ in their tens every time am in my constituency, a small time MP like myself. I thought his will be a super crowd befitting his superposition that happens to be ‘above’ an elected DP!!!!!! I can bet against anything, nearly half of such a group is comprised of men in uniforms. Chiefs, cops and civil servants under his command. He enjoys such cosmetic Glory. Next time, define the term ‘crowd’ for me counsel Wahome Thuku,” Osoro replied to the blogger’s post.

Unconfirmed: ANC’s Eliud Owalo to withdraw his candidature for Mc Donald Mariga

Rumors on the political street have hinted that ANC candidae Eliud Owalo might be withdrawing his candidature for Jubilee aspirant MC Donald Mariga in the upcoming Kibra parliamentary seat.

The race has had four main contenders;Imran Okoth(ODM),Eliud Owalo (ANC),Engineer Butichi(Ford-Kenya) and Jubilee ‘s Mc Donald Mariga.

President Uhuru Kenyatta’s endorsement

President Uhuru Kenyatta endorsed footballer McDonald Mariga’s candidature in the Kibra by-election in a surprise move that now complicates the contest.

The development is a major boost to Mr Mariga, whose entry into the political ring caused major infighting within the ruling Jubilee Party amid accusations that his candidature was being pushed by Deputy President William Ruto.

But his endorsement at State House jointly by Uhuru and Dr Ruto, who are Jubilee Party leader and deputy party leader respectively, ensures the Jubilee candidate now heads into the campaign projecting the ruling party is solidly behind his candidature.

Uhuru’s move now complicates campaigns in the constituency, as Jubilee and Opposition Chief Raila Odinga’s ODM will have to face off in a major battle that will test the March 9, 2018 truce between the two leaders that saw the ruling party skip subsequent by-elections to avoid a confrontation with their newfound partners.

His decision also throws into confusion a wing of Jubilee, mainly Kieleweke allied MPs, who had vowed to campaign against Mariga, who they had labelled a candidate of the Tangatanga camp, which they accuse of working to wreck Uhuru and Raila’s handshake.

Previously, there were reports that Uhuru was not keen on having a candidate in the constituency that has traditionally backed Raila to avoid a political face-off, but a statement from State House yesterday, backed with a photo of the President handing Mariga a cap branded with the Jubilee Party colours, signals that the ruling party is determined to wrestle the seat from ODM.

Uhuru assured the football star of his backing in the November 7 mini poll occasioned by the death of ODM’s Ken Okoth.

Moi University on the brink of falling, 30 departments closed!

Moi University has done away with 30 departments, a move that has seen several lecturers moved to other schools.

The decision to reduce the departments from 80 to 50 was approved by the management on Tuesday in a bid to reduce the cost of running the institution.

Among the departments that were affected is the Communication department which has been merged with Publishing and Media Studies, and Literature which has been merged with Linguistics.

However, the move didn’t go down well with a section of lecturers who claim that the decision was not inclusive because they were not consulted.

Moi University Vice-Chancellor Prof Isaac Kosgey, however, noted that the changes are geared towards ensuring that the institution runs smoothly.

“We are placing academic staff in the faculties where they are best qualified. These changes will be a game-changer as it will ensure efficiency and cut costs,” said the VC.

The university which is facing battling cash crunch has in the recent past relocated several schools to the main campus.

The School of Agriculture and Natural Resources which was operating in Kitale Campus was relocated to the main campus in Kesses.

Those who were in Nairobi Campus pursuing Education courses were also moved to the main campus.

Other universities in the country are also struggling to reduce the cost of running and among them is University of Nairobi (UoN) which eliminated more than 40 courses.
