The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Secretary General and Budalangi Member of Parliament aka diaper man Ababu Namwamba has hinted at leaving the party just a day after promising to work with other party official to ensure victory in 2017

Speaking at a funeral in Bunyala, the Budalangi MP stated that he will not be cowed by anyone.

“When someone disrespects me, they disrespect the Budalangi people. We are free people, we are not slaves to any person. We make our decisions in a free manner. Very soon, I will open my heart and tell you what way to go,” said Namwamba.

The MP warned political leaders against peddling lies to the public.

“There is no one more special than the other. Let us respect each other. Where there is no respect, there can be no relationship. We are a free people, we can make independent people, and we can decide whatever we decide without any external influence,” said Namwamba.

Many leaders from the ODM party have criticised Namwamba saying he has distanced himself from the party and accusing him of working more with the Jubilee coalition.

“I will not allow anyone to stifle me, telling me I cannot go there, you cannot speak to this person, this one cannot be your friend. You want everyone to be your friend but you cannot allow others to have friends. You want to have a network but you don’t want others to have a network?”

Namwamba put on the spot over his absence from party affairs including the anti-IEBC marches to the electoral body offices at Anniversary Towers in Nairobi and the public meetings held after the death of businessman Jacob Juma.

The Budalangi MP was also accused of calling on ODM supporters to vote for individuals and not parties in the next elections with the ODM hierarchy saying this would impede the party’s efforts to have a six piece vote.

Kisii Governor Hon Ongwae STATEMENT on Accident that KILLED 8 University Students

STATEMENT ON THE ETORA ACCIDENT
Last evening at about 8pm, an accident involving three vehicles occurred at Etora along the Kisii-Kilgoris road.
A lorry collided head on with one of the cars that was trying to overtake. During the accident, eight people including four men and four women lost their lives.

The casualties were rushed to the Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital for treatment.

I take this opportunity to condole with the families of the deceased. It is indeed sad to lose lives through road carnage.
I stand with the families of the deceased at this difficult moment and wish the injured quick recovery. As a County government, we shall do everything possible to assist the affected families handle this tragedy.

I also call upon drivers to exercise caution while using our roads to avoid a recurrence of this regrettable incident.

Top statehouse operatives are burning mid night oil on how to deflate Raila Odinga’s ODM/CORD 2013 campaign juggernaut.

To weaken Raila support in Western Kenya several strategies have been rolled all at the same time with an aim to confuse and divide the Luyha vote (as usual). CS Eugene Wamalwa, Amani Coalition’s Musalia Mudavadi, Former minister Fred Gumo and paper tiger Ababu Namwamba will lead various sub-movements allowing Jubilee a through pass.

In Kisii, Senator Chris Obure is is being seduced to ditch ODM or move to a neutral party to allow Jubilee gain ground. The plan is to have Kisii region coalice around one political party that will not have a presidential candidate and thus allowing Jubilee to gain ground.

Ground intelligence has confirmed that Charles Nyachae the heir apparent of the former powerful Chief Secretary Mzee Nyachae business and political empire is facing a serious challenge to gain acceptance among the locals. Whereas Charles is loved nationally and all elected leaders in the region are ready to work with him- the masses are not so enthusiastic.

In Nyamira the ODM nominated MP to EALA and former assistant minister and MP for North Mugirango Hon Joseph is now confirmed to be jubilee leaning.

To this end a section of political leaders from Kisii County have asked area Senator Chris Obure to take to role the community’s spokesman and help them make political choices a head of the 2017 general elections.

Obure is currently the oldest elected politician from Gusii region having been elected as a member of parliament in 1988. Since then, Obure has never lost any single election. A number of leaders under the umbrella of Gusii Unity have come together even as some political pundits begin to question the group’s motive.

The leaders are drawn from the entire political divide in Kisii. Last week, while presiding over the Nyamache Secondary education day, Dr Fred Matiang’i, the Education Cabinet Secretary called on Obure to take the mantle and guide the community.

Muriuki: WHY KILLING of Lawyer Willie Kimani MUST be CONDEMNED, Jacob Juma, ICC Witnesses etc all DISAPPEARED

When ICC prosecution witnesses started sublimating into thin air, one by one, the vast majority, including those in the legal fraternity, did not say anything, perhaps because it was politically expedient, heck ‘morally’ compelling at the time.

When Jacob Juma was killed a few months ago, instead of society demanding the killers be brought to book, the conversation shifted into an argument on how much Juma was or wasn’t worth! I doubt any arrests have been made this far.

We keep quiet when injustices rock our society and then go ahead to make an assumption that such an injustice is reserved for others, and can never occur to a loved one, a friend, a neighbor, a daughter, a son and so on. Never mind that our society is anchored in the timeless philosophy of Harambee to mean we pull together, all of us.

History reminds us of one man called Martin Niemöller. He was one of the earliest Germans to talk publicly about broader complicity in the Holocaust and guilt for what had happened to the Jews. His sense of guilt is summed up in a poem that should wake us up from our slumber:

“First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.”

You are on your own. If you have boots, tighten the bootstraps.

SAD: EIGHT Kenyatta University Students DEAD in Kisii-Kilgoris road ACCIDENT

Eight people have been confirmed dead in a grisly road accident on the Kisii-Kilgoris road at Etora area.

The accident involved three vehicles; a canter, a Toyota Noah and a salon car.

The salon car was on its way from Ogembo town to Kisii when it collided head on with the Noah.

All the people in the Noah reportedly died, besides one from the salon car.

The accident is said to have happened after the seven seater Noah matatu heading to Ogembo town attempted to overtake the canter.

It collided head on with the oncoming salon car before the driver of the canter lost control and landed on the Noah smashing it to pieces.

The salon car had a mechanic training an intern.

According to Dr Ondari Otieno, CEO Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital, three people have been admitted at the facility for treatment; two critically injured and one with minor bruises.

Dr Otieno said they received five bodies of the accident’s victims, which are lying at the hospital’s mortuary.

Another body was transferred later as rescue operations continued at the scene.

Rescuers are still trying to rescue a man who is stuck in the mangled wreckage of the canter.

Sameta AP commander Robert Mulwa says the Noah was on high speed.

Police had a hard time controlling the large crowd that gathered round the scene of the accident.

The lorry driver succumbed to his injuries moments after being admitted at Kisii Level Six Hospital.

Kisii governor James Ongwae has sent his heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased.

The bash which was held at Sonko Family resort in Mua Hills in Machakos was attended by top celebrities, famous musicians and media personalities.

Among those performed during the graduation party is leading award winning group Sauti Soul who thrilled the over 5,000 guests invited for the event. Others who performed include leading Tanzanian musician Ali Kiba, Jaguar, Ken Wamaria, one man guitar Mike Rua and FBI dancers.

Leading Gospel artists also performed including Mercy Masika; Christiano Shusho; Easther wahome; Jemima thiongo; Size 8. Leading Djs hired to spin the wheels included Dj creame; Dj Israel and Dj Mo. The bash was MCeed by President Uhuru’s director of events Thomas Kwaka aka Big Ted ; Fred Omondi and Solomon Koko

Speaking during the event Saumu who graduated with Bachelors Degree in Mass Communication vowed to impress her dad even further by pursuing a Masters degree abroad. Thousands of JKUAT students who attended the lively party challenged Sonko to vie for the Nairobi Governors seat in 2017 and bring changes to the great City of Nairobi. Saumu was highly expected to join City politics after her good leadership at JKUAT Karen Campus as Chair of the students union….
