Meru gubernatorial aspirant Kilemi Mwiria has ditched Jubilee Party and has said he will announce a new political vehicle soon.

Dr Mwiria who is the President’s adviser on education said he would make known his new party by Friday.

The former assistant minister for higher education, who lost to Governor Peter Munya in the 2013 elections, has been vocal in questioning the Jubilee Party’s resolve to assure a free and fair nomination in Meru County.

“I will announce the party on which I will vie for governor by Friday. My supporters have advised me that I am likely to be rigged out if I go through Jubilee Party. I am in talks with several parties that are friendly to the president,” Dr Mwiria said.

He said he was not given enough time to raise his concerns before President Kenyatta during his recent visit to the county.

LOST CONFIDENCE

During the meeting, Dr Mwiria said he had lost confidence in Jubilee Party in Meru.

“I have no problem with the Jubilee party led by Mr Kenyatta, but there is a problem with Jubilee in Meru,” Dr Mwiria said before the President at Kaaga Primary School.

In an interview on a local radio station, Dr Mwiria cited unfair Jubilee Party leadership elections and formation of an outfit dubbed Kikali, within the party, which brings together Senator Kiraitu Murungi and MPs Mithika Linturi (Igembe South) and Florence Kajuju (Woman Representative).

The gubernatorial aspirant said Kikali had created an unfair playground within the party causing him to lose trust in the impending nominations.

“Before the 2013 elections, Mr Murungi among other leaders had agreed to back me before he secretly abandoned me for Mr Munya. I contested the elections in court and Mr Murungi was behind the incumbent governor before they parted ways. Senator Murungi has proved to be untrustworthy,” he said.

‘LACK OF AWARENESS’

Dr Mwiria said that by vying on a different party’s ticket, he would help the President garner more votes in Meru, “since all voters cannot support JP”.

“The JP chairman and [the] secretary-general in Meru were all APK officials who were against me in 2013. The secretary-general is an MCA, which is against party rules. They can decide to gang [up] against me again,” he remarked.

He said having garnered more than 180,000 votes in 2013, he was assured of trouncing his opponents in the August elections.

Mwenda Mbijiwe, who is also vying for the governorship on a Jubilee ticket, has also decried lack of fairness within the Jubilee Party in Meru.

Pressure within Jubilee now piles on CS Amina to resign from Foreign Affairs

As Foreign Affairs CS Amina Mohammed returns to her job at the helm of Foreign Affairs ministry, a section of senior officials in the Office of the President (OP) in collusion with mandarins in her ministry want her removed from the ministry altogether.

So intense is the lobbying to have her out of Foreign Affairs that State House Chief of Staff Joseph Kinyua suspended the appointment of 128 foreign service personnel last week who had been hired by the CS.

Amina’s woes within the ministry dates back to two years ago when MPs rejected the then Defense Principal Secretary Monica Juma from being appointed Secretary to the Cabinet, after which she was transferred to Foreign Affairs.

Monica Juma is conspirator and smooth operator. She is also wife to one of Jubilee regime’s mainstream propagandists, Prof Peter Gitau Kagwanja.

Staff at the ministry of foreign affairs accuse Juma of impunity, blatant ethnic favouritism and staging endless fight against the CS.

MPs who rejected her nomination to the position of Secretary to the cabinet described her as an ‘arrogant and insensitive’ person.

At Foreign Affairs, she runs a parallel system to Amina, who is often reduced to cheer-leading when critical decisions are made. In the most recent spat involving deployment of foreign service personnel by CS Amina, Juma is said to have put pressure on Kinyua to revoke the decision.

This is not the first time Amina is countermanded by Juma using the weight of Office of the President.

In July last year, for instance, Juma unilaterally reinstated Ambassador Anthony Muchiri who had been suspended alongside then Foreign Affairs Minister Moses Wetang’ula in the infamous Tokyo Embassy scam in 2011.

Catherine Mwangi, a first cousin to Uhuru and sister to Senator Beth Mugo was also posted to Ethiopia without parliamentary vetting.

Juma named Muchiri as a senior officer in charge of staffing and human resource rationalisation in her office, creating two centres of power in the ministry. This is because there exists a directorate of Human Resource Management and Development in the same ministry.

Muchiri was then tasked to lead a quiet taskforce to audit all employments Amina had undertaken in the ministry since she was appointed in 2013.

“Amina was not even aware of the task force. But Juma vowed to discuss the report directly with the President to outline mistakes allegedly committed by Amina,” our source said.

Muchiri has since been posted as the Ambassador to Cuba without any Parliamentary vetting, becoming the first Kenyan envoy in the Caribbean nation.

Juma’s strategy together with her Jubilee power barons has been to elbow Amina out so as to take over her job.

The expectation of Amina’s exit had seen Kenya’s Ambassador to the United Nations return to Nairobi in anticipation of taking over from Juma as she gets appointed CS to replace Amina.

The frustration Amina has faced runing the ministry does not end with her. Key officers seen to be closer to her are often targetted for intimidation.

Many of the officers had hoped to move with her to Africa Union.

Director of Multilateral Ali Mohamed, considered a key ally of the Cabinet Secretary, was last year barred by the PS from travelling to the US for the United Nations General Assembly.

His absence left the over 200-member Kenyan delegation that included Deputy President William Ruto and tens of MPs thoroughly uncoordinated.

“It has never happened since independence. The Director of Multilateral’s core mandate is to coordinate such teams outside the country,” a source familiar with the intrigues revealed.
For instance, as she approved the list of Kenyan officials to UNGA, Juma deleted the name of Ambassador Mike Oyugi in Vienna but approved that of his deputy James Kihurani.

Last week, some 12 secretaries in the ministry, some about to retire, were transferred under unclear
circumstances amid allegations of tribalism in the process.

IEBC DATABASE INFILTRATED AND COMPROMISED:

Today, we are here to demonstrate that the IEBC is currently registering foreigners and strangers to vote in the August 2017 election.
We have unearthed serious anomalies in the on-going voter registration that bring to questions the integrity of the register being compiled and the figures being released by the IEBC.

Our investigation has confirmed that numbers that do not qualify as identity card numbers have been used to register voters in parts of the country and that is responsible for what is being presented as high turnout in voter registration in those regions.

A random check shows that the following numbers have been used as national identification cards to register voters.

The IEBC database has been manipulated to ensure that the cell that has the document identification number can take any numbers instead of the eight (8) numerical national ID or seven numbers if a passport is used.

Having designed that cell as such makes it easy for IEBC to be complicit and difficult for anyone to know.

Below is a list of 8 people registered in the IEBC registry as voters using the identification document number 2 (as the national identification number.)

We have information that the doctoring of the IEBC registration software was done intentionally by former employees of IEBC who are aliened to Jubilee as a way to ensure Jubilee strongholds register more voters.

The manipulation was done to ensure that single digit number such as the ones listed above can be used to register foreigners or even those without IDs.

But it is also possible that the names popping up under the fake ID numbers may be non-existent. These could be virtual voters, non-existent human beings being included in the IEBC register to create room for ballot stuffing during elections.

Information in our possession is that the doctoring exercise is currently being carried out in homes of a senior government official and the office of a former cabinet secretary.
The numbers above are only a drop in the ocean. The total number of people registered in the IEBC database using different combinations is estimated to be in the thousands.

A visit to any registration centre countrywide will reveal the above scandal is being carried out in a central location so long as one has the BVR kit linked to the IEBC database.

The IEBC must come clean on this matter. But not just that. These developments mean the audit and cleaning of the register is mandatory and has to be extremely thorough.

During the genocide, Kenya harboured the genocidaires and sent a planeload of fleeing victims back to Rwanda.

No, Africa did not betray Kenya yesterday. It was Kenya that betrayed Africa a long time ago and has consistently done so until last month when it waited until the very last minute to officially recognize the newly democratically elected President of The Gambia.

LAND CLASHES Start in Rift Valley as Armed Militia INVADE WHITE Settler Land, burn Property and Elect Permanent Traditional Manyattas

Samburu armed pastoralists have begun building a large boma on the 44,000 acre Suyian ranch which they invaded on Sunday.

On Monday they burned down the remaining five star lodge buildings.

The Samburu apparently want to make their stay permanent as they did with the Lombara farm of John Francis Mwai which they took over in July.

There are now fears that a large force of Samburu and Pokot intend to move South to invade the 24,000 acre Sosian conservancy and the 29,000 acre Ol Maisor working ranch.

“I think we face general attack and ethnic cleansing of all whites and Turkana from the Laikipia plateau. Even my managers are scared to stay because we’re going to be attacked,” said one White Kenyan landowner this week.

An estimated 10,000 pastoralists with 135,000 cattle have invaded ranches in Laikipia North in the last four months.

Last week President Uhuru Kenyatta in Rumuruti ordered that all invading pastoralists should leave the Laikipia ranches.

In October last year, Cabinet made the same order.

Most of the conservancies in Laikipia combine cattle ranching, tourism and wildlife conservation.

The 12 main conservancies in Laikipia, including Suyian, claimed in 2014 that they pumped more than Sh2 billion into the Laikipia economy in 2013.

Stores and garages were also looted.

The five Anti-Stock Theft policemen guarding the lodge were overwhelmed by scores of hundreds of attackers.

“They were young and inexperienced and could not cope,” a Laikipia resident said.

The Suyian lodge is the third tourist lodge in Laikipia to be closed in January.

A Pokot invasion forced the closure of two lodges in the Mugie conservancy earlier this month.
