Our position regarding matters touching on Muslims and latest incidents of Joho, Marwa and President Uhuru Kenyatta
The current spate of exchange between the president of the republic of Kenya, coast regional coordinator on one side and the governor of Mombasa is one thing that is bothering the Kenya Muslim community today and the excessive show of might as a total transgression to the rule of law and abuse of delegated power of the Almighty.

In general code of conduct of the Islamic faith, It is the obligatory upon every Muslim to be obedient and supportive of leadership when there is justice and obedience to the rule of law of the land, principles of humanity and respects of the power of the Almighty by the said leadership.

Currently and in the past and as a reminder to the those in power and Kenyans in general, The Muslim community has been maltreated through killings and disappearance of members, arbitrary arrests by the security agents, ethnic and religious profiling of the community as terrorist, presence of military and other security agents in Muslim dominated counties to specifically put Muslims in constant fear while there is no threat to warrant that and above all as pretext to fighting terror and last but not the least the issue of intimidating elected members of the community in leadership among them the likes of Joho.

These matters are not going to be taken lightly by Muslims and as citizens of the republic of Kenya especially when the policy has remained permanently unwarranted and a policy with the current regime. We are calling upon Kenyans and the Muslims community to stand united and object to the transgression of the government and her agents.

In that regard we as Kenya Muslim Caucus tell the president and his government to know that:

• The Kenya Muslim Caucus and other law abiding Kenyans are saying enough is enough and strongly condemn the government actions of unfair treatment and all other disservice to the Muslims and their other Kenyan counterparts.

• The Kenya Muslim Caucus is not taking the matter touching on Hon. Joho
lightly and if the due process of the law is not followed to correct any wrongdoing on his part and on the part of the security agents then we will have no choice but to advise the Muslim community not to support this government in any capacity especially in the forth coming elections.

• That the Jubilee government has transgressed on the rule of law and that delegated to them by the Almighty and unless they change their ways they are unfit to rule the country and support the constitution of Kenya.

• Kenya Muslim Caucus are vigilant of the transgression of the government and the excesses making them to take an early position in the current electioneering period of having made their mind and stand in solidarity of other Kenyans to change the current regime.

• We demand the government and her security agent to give assurance to the republic for free campaign, security to every citizen life and property and free elections since we are democratic society that can govern itself.

• Those actions of Marwa and his clique of intimidation are blatant violation of the constitutions and freedom of association and we demand an apology to the Kenyans, Joho and his party.

‘SLEEPY’ Kisumu Governor H. E Raguma CORNERED by Residents with 9 QUESTIONS He SHOULD ANSWER

Jack, you have announced that you want be, once again, the governor of Kisumu county; you are asking for a re-election, #RangumaTena; to be recycled. Well, we have a few questions we have to ask you, very honestly. Please, answer the following questions:

i) What is it that you have done for the people of Kisumu County; the one or two outstanding things, that you can say you have achieved since you became governor 4 years back? You have been asked this question many times, and your typical response; that you have been busy putting up ssstt….rru…ct..ures……….., for which you means STRUCTURES, a word that comes out so badly in your stammering surmise. Structures, JR. What is structures? This not what you said you will pursue as priority. Right?

ii) What is your vision, or simply your dream, for Kisumu? It is strange that to date, you still have no big bang dream for Kisumu, despite having spent over four years, over-sleeping on the job. Strangely, when this question is posed to the First Lady (JR you really ridicule yourself by always insisting on this painful tag), her most remarkable answer is that Kisumu will be like Machakos County!!! Aiii, yawa!!

iii) JR, is it true that you suffer from social and judgmental insomnia? One, you are neither popular amongst the youth, women groups, persons with disabilities, Legion of Mary, and other social groupings in Kisumu. Instead, and strangely so, you are only popular with the Bodaboda riders. How, Jack, are you oblivious of the brand these category of social class carry on their backs? Ehe? Not to forget, some moons ago, out of nowhere, you found strange inspiration on taking three dozens of the same Kisumu Bodaboda riders to a benchmarking tour in Rwanda, at a cost of Ksh 300 Millions only!!! What sort of judgement are these this JR? As a manger, what do you achieve with these kinds of decisions?

iv) At the peak of your last campaign, you swayed us with your intended support for agriculture. You almost called yourself Mr Nice, sorry Rice man, as you said that you will use rice in Kisumu county to demonstrate how Africans can easily solve the problem of food security.

To date JR, Ahero Irrigation, which was once vibrant under the national government, has not seen a drop of irrigation water, four years after you took over. The last time you were there to talk to rice farmers, what we saw was a physical fight between your Minister and the rustic Nyando MP Outa!! And how about Sugarcane farming, Jack? Never has this key cash crop done so poorly in the history of Kisumu. Look at the Muhoroni factory, for example. This very factory that gave you the first political footstep in Kisumu as you were the caretaker manager, has remained on the same status: Lock, Stock and Barrel, eight years after your stint there!! You still have nothing to sugarcane farmers?

v) Jack, you will be remembered for presiding over the most chaotic county assembly South of Sahara. Why? To date, no other county assembly beat Kisumu with regards to the number of speakers admitted to hospital, number of teeth, shoes, bags lost on the floor as your untamed, disgraceful MCAs fight daily instead of discussing serious matters that affect Kisumu. Is it true that forever, you have been held hostage and powerless by these brand of MCAs, led by Chairman Ong’ow and a streak of like-minded MCAs?

vi) JR, we put it to you: You are selfish and deeply insecure, to explain why you seem to be very sensitive and hyper reactive to simple questions put to you on performance, integrity, accountability and responsibility. Is it? When, sometimes back, a couple of your own ministers asked you about your management and commitment on delivering the Kisumu promise, you reacted by sacking them on the spot!! Despite polite warning that this decision was childish and illegal, you acted like Abanuas, continuing to cut the very branch of tree on which you were sitting. At the end of it, when the branch fell down, the act left you with a lot of Omena on your face, as the courts ruled that the fired Ministers had to be compensated. Compensation you did, but from our own, not your coffers!! Jack, being asked accountability questions and your typical arms-length reaction, also explains why you no longer see eye to eye with your deputy, the sister of Raila Odinga, with him you were co-joined at the hip through a strange political maneuver that has never been unrevealed to us to date. vii) JR, the latest issue on that plate is the simmering disquiet on whether you could be trying to build a JLM. Jeshy La Mzee, Jack, is a serious matter given the stakes in the up-coming party nominations. Is this true, JR, or is it just a conspiracy theory, as many your staunch supporter claimed when this issue popped up?

Vii) Lastly JR, it is about your nickname, Kanungo. What we gather, heaven forbid, is that the only achievement you managed as governor of Kisumu is your prowess and mastery at over indulging at the dance floor. So good are you with curved women on the floor that people are often left to wonder whether this could be your true calling. Ask local DJs in many Kisumu night clubs. The claim is that whenever the Governor steps into the dance floor, the DJ computer automatically reads: “a new software has been found”. Not bad, Jack the Jackal, and dancing software, if to add just an asterisk to your accolade.

In summery JR, we ask you: WHY??? Why do you want us to give you this job again? Why Kanungo? what difference will it make? Please answer the above questions. Amen

IF NASA organises itself very well, reaches out to the people with a clear message, then it will be very difficult for Jubilee.

I believe that Jubilee has the capacity and the ability to make inroads into Gusiiland.

My conviction and belief is that out of the 30 per cent votes they got at the 2013 general election, they have done a few things which might end up increasing their numbers.

If they continue to visit Kisii like they do, it will increase their political dividends because it will give the public more accessibility to the President and his deputy.

The roads which the President has authorised to be done in Kisii should continue and if they don’t continue, then I doubt whether Jubilee will have any impact whatsoever in Kisii.

What is advantageous to the Jubilee team is that the older generation above the age of 30 years are more Jubilee-inclined than ODM.

ODM has more younger and youthful people who have been ODM supporters for quite a while.

My conviction is that if the President were to engage the community at all levels, the education sector, agriculture, infrastructure, and if the lead Jubilee team from the region would actually settle down in Kisii and get out of Nairobi, they may be able to have an impact. If the President would sustain his campaign to personally engage the community, they may have a soft spot for him, given his history.

The Kisii community has always had a soft spot for the Kenyatta family and there is a likelihood that they may have a rethink.

I believe the Kisii community is cautiously watching what is happening in the National Super Alliance.

If Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka moves out of NASA, then the community may have to rethink their strategy – and this may favour Jubilee.

Historically, the Kisii community has voted on how they know individuals, they may not necessarily vote for someone because of a party.

Kisii Governor James Ongwae, Senator Chris Obure and woman representative Mary Otara were all elected on the ODM ticket, yet the party only managed three MPs out of nine in the whole county, while the rest were TNA affiliates.

In the county assembly, out of 45 members ODM has 40.

All the MPs elected on the ODM ticket have all shifted to Jubilee except me, and that will also definitely have a positive impact.

Raila to lead NASA BRIGADE in a Tour of Wajir County, To VANQUISH and LOCK OUT Jubilee in Northen Frontier Districts

NASA Leader H.E Raila Odinga will today lead his team including Kalonzo Musyoka, Musalia Mudavadi, Moses Wetangula and a host of over 40MPs to inspect ongoing devolution projects in Wajir county.

The NASA brigade will later in the afternoon hold a mega rally in Wajir town hosted by the ODM Wajir Governor Ahmed Abdullahi. During the rally, The ODM party leader is scheduled to receive several defectors to the winning NASA coalition.

Governor Abdullahi hosts the NASA brigade barely two weeks after he refused Jubilee’s millions to ditch ODM.

NASA Principals, Please Make up Your Minds Already!

One of the most frustrating aspects of Kenya’s socio-political discourse of the last month has been the headlines juxtaposing the very deliberate acts of corruption inside Kenya Pipeline Corporation (KPC), the outrage over the impending acquittal of six land-grabbers (in Karen) over a “typo”, the silliness over Gov. Hassan Joho’s academic papers and the absolute dithering at NASA over who their top ticket for the upcoming general elections will be.

Of the foregoing four headlines, I’d rank the faux outrage of Joho’s academic records and the public and protracted indecisiveness of the National Super Alliance Party (NASA) to select their ticket as the most frustrating ones playing out on the country’s political stage.

The former, re: Joho’s records, is the proverbial shiny new object that Kenyans would be well-advised to ignore. The “scandal” is a distraction manufactured by the incumbency to take the country’s collective eyes off the underhandedness at the IEBC and the upcoming elections. President Kenyatta is effectively diverting Kenya’s sparse resources away from the more pressing drought, famine and insecurity not to mention focused and expeditious investigation and persecution of corruption cases to “nyorosha” someone who’s called out his incompetence even as his admin works overtime to rig the upcoming elections.

Which brings me to NASA’s vacillation over its top ticket.

What is taking the Super Alliance principals of Kalonzo Musyoka, Musalia Mudavadi, Raila Odinga and Moses Wetangula so long to decide which two of the four will head the party’s ticket against Uhuru Kenyatta and William Ruto?

Kenyans are witnessing their version of the “making of sausage” that is the democratic process: A zero-sum it’s-our-turn-to-eat ethos of the society that is not pretty. From afar, it looks like the four principals are willing to sacrifice a strong competitive ticket in favor of their personal (indeed selfish) ambitions and their base’s turn at the national trough from which they, along with family and friends hope to engorge themselves.

How else does one explain a regional leader’s ultimatum that any (ticket) decision that does not include (fill in name of preferred tribal chieftain) as the president would be “the last straw that will break the camel’s back”?

It is this thinking that will facilitate the re-election of the former crimes-against-humanity duo of Uhuru Kenyatta and William Ruto. This will happen despite glaring evidence that their Jubilee Coalition has been the most corrupt, polarizing and incompetent government in Kenya’s fifty-four-year history.

Let me offer that there is little doubt Raila Odinga towers above his co-principals — as he should given his longevity and (inter)national profile. Having said that, let me also ask this of his supporters; a question most of them do not want to countenance:

Is the man revered and reviled in equal parts the person to head the NASA ticket given his highly polarizing personality?

My opinion: He is not and I don’t say this lightly.

RAO has fought the good fight and lost — two times; arguably under dubious circumstances. However, I don’t think the prevailing zeitgeist in Kenya favors him. The fear and otherization embodied in the xenophobic “Raila wiru nefa be plisdent” movement cannot be downplayed or wished away. It is real and it portends danger come August 8th. Donald Trump won the just-concluded US Elections because of his ability to appeal to the fears non-college educated white males had — first of a black president, then a possible woman president.

Fear is a powerful motivator.

NASA runs the risk of missing a great opportunity to make Jubilee a one-term kleptocracy if it continues along its current path of procrastination and selfishness. And claims or accusations of “playing the 40 vs. 2 tribal card” aside, the fact is NASA has a more diverse and national profile than Jubilee whose base is limited to Central/Mt. Kenya and Rift Valley.

The party has a more inclusive socio-economic platform compared to the selfishness embodied in the “uthamakism” and “kalenjinism” that defines the incumbency and has been the hallmark of Kenya’s politics since independence.

Unfortunately, nominating a candidate for the 2017 campaign was a journey NASA nee CORD should have mapped out beginning April 2013 shortly after the Supreme Court ruled in favor of Jubilee in 2013. It is baffling why Raila, the doyenne of the opposition and a world-renowned political mind, he of the “Kibaki Tosha” fame did not see that.

I’d be more forgiving of NASA if the internal machinations preventing it from nominating a ticket were helping it prime and season its ultimate pairing. That is what happened in 2008 when Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton went head-to-head until late in the summer. The protracted oftentimes acrimonious battle between the two for the Democratic Party’s nomination made the junior senator from Illinois a tougher more adroit candidate in the race against Vietnam War hero John McCain.

However, NASA’s procrastination is not analogous to the 2008 race between BHO and HRC because theirs was a pre-determined and public nomination process that played out in full public view.

My unsolicited advice to the NASA Quartet is that they should rip off the band aid and let the campaign begin – one hundred and thirty-two days from August 8.
