Voter Register Tampering

The ODM Party wishes to make the following comments with regard to new disturbing revelations in the IEBC Register of Voters.

First this election must be about respecting the choice of the people. Let not the outcome of this election be about how institutions navigate to skew results.

• The party reiterates its position that it will accept nothing short of a credible, free, fair and verifiable election; and that it will reject results of a manipulated election where the will of the people did not count.

• The party maintains IEBC voter register is being deliberately messed up with to hide the true voting strength of the opposition coalition. released figures of voters across the country neither represents the true picture of the voting population and its distribution across the country.

• The Party dismisses assurances by IEBC officials that it doesn’t matter what comes out of their own processes of voter verification where Kenyans have confirmed the existeZaniof their dead family members, some who passed away 15 to 20 years ago; as still having their names in the voter register. Or where numbers “0”, “66”, “243” etc still return entries of valid voters.

• The Party is aware that soon after these discoveries, IEBC has disabled the system, purporting that it was merely a trial.

• The ODM has received disturbing reports of continued manipulation of the voter register by active collusion of a number of IEBC officials and two key state agencies. IEBC must come clean and vouch for the authenticity and credibility of the voter register.

• We shall in due course share our findings with the public. Meanwhile, we urge AU, EU, UN and other Observer Groups already monitoring the processes leading to the August polls to take note of the new development on voter register.

• The party demands that the audit firm KPMG comes out clearly on what its role was in the purported audit of the voter register; an exercise we already informed Kenyans that KPMG had no technical capacity to undertake. We reiterate that KPMG was merely one of the many agencies being used by the current regime to cover up a dubious voter register.

• Specifically; we demand that KPMG Audit Report be made public; names of those expunged from register and criteria of doing so be made public; a PDF version of the voter register for every polling station; and an amalgamated register for every constituency be immediately sent to Ward and Constituency offices across the country and be made public and accessible by voters.

Finally; ODM wishes to inform all members and supporters that the Party Nomination List has been submitted to IEBC and the commission will at their own discretion publish and publicize it.

EXPOSED: LEAKED NIS POLL on Raila NASA Popularity in Rift Valley, HEADACHE for Uhuru Statehouse Operatives

A leaked NIS report tabled in statehouse confirms Jubilee is crumbling like a house of cards. In Rift Valley , Raila and NASA are headed to a 40 % mark, a Tsunami like real strong desire for change especially on matters economy, Agriculture, Security and cost of living.

The authoritative NISA report summary statics indicating Raila NASA popularity ratings and possible vote harvest as in percentage as follow :

This has pushed Uhuru to a tight corner because he’s only assured 100 % of Muranga , Kiambu , Nyandarua, Embu and Nyeri counties

The other counties that supported Uhuru in 2013 are now drifting to NASA key among them are Garissa and Meru. North Eastern Counties are now NASA strongholds.

The report indicates that Rift valley that slowly and surely slipping out of William Ruto political grip unless something dramatic is done.

Ruto and Uhuru are now defending their traditional territories which are under successful inversions by NASA while the inroads by Uhuru and Ruto in NASA territories is definitely infertile. The reports also notes that Uhuru to visit Ukambani without the support of Ngilu and Kalonzo is incoscequential and pours cold water on the massive rallies Uhuru held in Mwingi saying the locals were merely memerised to see presidential limosine and choppers and also listen to DP Ruto’s excellent mchongoano against Raila and Kalonzo.

The report questions Hon Kalembe Ndile’s ability to deliver for Uhuru in Ukambani. Also those whose ability to deliver is put on focus us Ababu , Waluke, Eugene and Lusaka in Western/Luyhaland..

In Coast region Shabbal and Mvurya are leading a losing campaign for Uhuru as locals see those supporting jubilee as traitors to their coastal desires and aspirations and thus explains why Governor Mvurya is silent and has resorted to survival techniques in his campaigns !!!

Gov. Tunui of Narok may not be selling Uhuru in Narok because of new found adoptive environmental campaign techniques that are being used by most of Uhuru point men to survive.

In Kisii Charles Nyachae is waiting for the next Presidential visit to be seen him campaigning for Uhuru !! Its not easy although he as recruited a strong youth campaign to be led by Walter Mongare aka Nyambane and Antony Kibagendi.

HOW Raila NASA Will Combat and VANQUISH Corruption Within Its Ranks

Fighting corruption will start from the top from the presidency to the cabinet. NASA appointed and ‎elected members shall abide by a specific code of conduct as spelled out in article 11 of the NASA ‎coalition agreement. The code binds all of them to the following:‎

• They shall not do do business with the government either directly and indirectly
• They shall not tolerate conflict of interest between public and private affairs
• Every one of them will disclose their financial interests on appointments so that they ensure ‎that there is no potential for personal benefit from the policy decisions that they make
• They shall demand of their members and appointees take moral and political responsibility for ‎misconduct, failing which they shall stand DISMISSED

There will be no sacred cows. The NASA coalition will never get away with passing the buck to the ‎EACC or Judiciary

There will be no “Sasa Jameni Munataka Nifanye Nini” anymore! ‎

All non tribalistic Kenyans refuse to be voting robots. Do not be misused. Vote for change. Vote for ‎NASA

STATEHOUSE to FORCE DP Ruto ally Hon Kambi Drop Off Kilifi Governor Race for Gideon Mung’aro

Confirmed reports suggest that either Kadu Asili’s Kazungu Kambi or Jubilee’s Gideon Mung’aro might step down for the other subject to an Ipso Synovate opinion poll which was commissioned by the Jubilee Party.

This comes after the results of another opinion poll suggested that ODM’s Amason Kingi shall easily retain his seat if the two run separately against him

Mungaro, a Uhuru Kenyatta man is said to have an edge over Ruto’s Kambi due to the Gema block vote in the county even though that can easily change in the event Uhuru endorses Kambi

Kambi’s popularity in Kaloleni and Ganze regions was seen to be a stumbling block for both ODM’s incumbent Governor Amason Kingi and Mungaro but the shock endorsement of Kingi by Wiper’s Prof Gabriel Katana is said to have ended his (Kambi) grip over the Kaloleni region

The report which will be presented to the Jubilee hierarchy in two days time is likely to change the Kilifi gubernatorial race to a two horse race

Jubilee leadership are said to be also contemplating to end their hefty funding of their Kadu Asili outfit after several of the party’s aspirants including Edward Kingi (Ganze) and Pascal Maitha (Kilifi North) openly stated their preferred presidential candidate is NASA Flag bearer Raila Odinga.

This would give an advantage to Gideon Mung’aro in terms of funding as he has been struggling to sustain a strong campaign against the incumbent Kingi who has successfully convinced the Kilifi public that the myriad of problems afflicting their county are intentionally caused by the Jubilee National Government

The Jubilee campaign funds in Kilifi County are split into two to fund both Jubilee & Kadu Asili in order to take a sizable piece of the 500,000 votes that usually end in Odinga’s vote basket

The use of an opinion poll is not new to the Jubilee Party after they used it to determine that Ananiah Mwaboza steps down for Suleiman Shahbal in the Mombasa gubernatorial race

Nairobi County Team of Rivals: Kidero, Miguna, Sonko and Kenneth is Possible!

Not entirely surprising, Mike “Sonko” Mbuvi sent his running mate Polycarp Igathe to represent him in the first debate for the governorship of Nairobi County. Former Gatanga MP Peter Kenneth also skipped the event.

Frankly I don’t blame Sonko for skipping the debate; not with Miguna Miguna laying in wait. The politics of populism is filled with landmines if one is not blessed with a sharp and agile mind and an even sharper wit.

Sonko is NOT blessed with any one of the three – in least not in abundance!

On the other hand, I don’t quite understand why the former Assistant Minister for Finance and graduate of University of Nairobi Mr. Kenneth opted to skip the event. One would have expected the former student of Lausanne’s International Institute for Management Development’s Executive Program (Wikipedia) to have the gravitas and confidence to go mano-a-mano with both Kidero and Miguna.

If Sonko and Kenneth can’t take on their political rivals – in a controlled environment (and I use the term “controlled” very loosely given the earlier Jeff Koinange choregraphed Miguna-Passaris fist-a-cuff) – I can only imagine how they’d survive the rough and tumble cartel-driven world of Nairobi County’s government.

Wimps!!

With apologies to Godfrey Wanyoike, Macharia Kamau and Michael Mutinda, Sonko’s and Kenneth’s absence left current governor Evans Kidero and the loquacious and larger-than-life personality Miguna Miguna to have it out in an event organized by KARA (Kenya Alliance of Residents Association) to “shed some light on what the aspirants plan to do for the most populated county in Kenya.”

During the debate, the incumbent governor pressed his main foil to explain how he would fund the ambitious projects he envisions during his governorship. Not hearing a coherent response, Kidero called into question Miguna’s abilities as a public administrator even as the latter fired back with his version of the week’s offering – a “manifesto”.

Of note, especially given the limited flexibility of Vision 2030’s SGR, was Miguna’s proposal for a light rail and subway systems to alleviate the city’s notorious traffic congestion.

All told, I don’t see a critical mass of Nairobians voting Miguna-Squared into the governor’s mansion because (a) he is to mercurial and unpredictable and (b) Nairobians have this inflated sense of self – that they are “middle class”. They want stability and continuity in governance of their polity – something they see in Kidero.

Similarly, I don’t see them voting the ripped jeans-wearing penta-colored mohawk-sporting Mbuvi Sonko to become the face of the regional headquarters of UNEP, UN-Habitat and a host of several blue-chip companies. The idea of Sonko welcoming a visiting foreign dignitary……..

(On a personal note, I know that Sonko’s sartorial choices would be more welcomed were they to reflect the traditional styles of Kenya/Africa the First Lady has been known to don. The man just looks oafish in the dated western garbs!)

The running exchange between Evans Kidero and Miguna Miguna – both with distinct strengths and weaknesses – brought to mind a concept Barack Obama used when formulating his first administration after he won the presidency in 2008.

Recalling Doris Kearns’ masterpiece “Team of Rivals”, Mr. Obama first asked Joe Biden to be his running mate. Then in a stunning display of preternatural equipoise and self-confidence, Obama reached out to his bitter primary rival Hillary Clinton and literally “begged” her to take the powerful, high profile and first CS position in America’s succession order – Secretary of State.

In the book “Game Change”, John Heilemann and Mark Halperin write that First Friend Valerie Jarrett cautioned the in-coming POTUS to “make sure the two (BHO and HRC) can work together” when the idea of offering the position to Ms. Clinton was first broached.

“You can’t just fire her,” Ms. Jarrett cautioned Mr. Obama – a tacit acknowledgement of Ms. Clinton’s massive following, public profile and intellectual heft.

Halperin/Heilemann write that Obama dismissed the apprehension because in his mind, “it was time to saddle up and govern (and) Clinton was a valuable asset.”

The first non-white male POTUS Barack Obama thus built the core of his first administration with two former campaign rivals as his deputy AND Secretary of State – the archetypical “team of rivals”!

What if Governor Evans Kidero offers Miguna Miguna the position of Anti-Cartel Chief with the singular mission of “Draining the Swamp” of the scourge?

The former MD of Mumias Sugar, ostensibly a management savant WITH four years’ experience in the proverbial “belly of the beast” should have little problem “managing” Mr. Miguna and the rambunctious lawyer would (thus) have the opportunity to fulfill one of his campaign pledges – fight corruption and “drain the swamp”!

Kidero would then assign the popular riff-raff Mike Sonko the enviable (or unenviable) task of assuring efficient delivery of basic public services such as trash pick-up, traffic flow & violations in the process, effectively transforming then legitimizing the Sonko Rescue Team.

And to complete the trifecta, imagine the former Assistant Minister for Finance Peter Kenneth as Nairobi County Chief Financial Officer (CFO)?

After all…politics does not have permanent enemies or friends….just permanent and/or mutual interests.
