SHOCK: Prominent Nakuru Businessman Kimani Mathu Was Killed By Thugs Hired By Wife Wambui- Court Told

ON December 1, 2017 prominent Nakuru businessman Julius Kimani Mathu of Kim Net was abducted as he returned home from work at around 12.20am, and killed within hours. His body was discovered by his brothers at a cemetery in Nakuru that same morning, with a deep head injury.

Detectives led by Nakuru DCIO pieced up the details and closed in on his wife Gladys Wambui as the mastermind who hired the killers and paid them Ksh1.2 million (or more) upon completing the job. The evidence includes numerous telephone call records, detailed CCTV clips and confession statements. She, and three others have been in police custody since Thursday last week.

FOUR suspects accused of killing the businessman Julius Kimani Mathu have this morning been presented before a magistrate court at Nakuru law courts.

The four who include Kimani’s widow Gladys Wambui were not to plead to charges of murder. The prosecution has made an application and allowed by the court to continue holding them for another 14/days to complete investigations. They will be arraigned before the High Court on 17th Jan to answer to the charges.

Kimani the proprietor of Kim Nets was abducted as he left his workplace on December 1 after midnight and his body was discovered in the morning dumped at a cemetery in Nakuru with a deep head injury.

Police claim the wife paid over Ksh1.2 million to the hitmen after the killing. Those charged alongside Gladys are Rahab Mukenyi an employee of the couple Alex Muhonja and James Mwaura.

List Of Cabinet Secretaries To Be SACKED By Uhuru; CS Matiang’i, Eugene Wamalwa To be Retained

Sources inside Statehouse has confirmed that President Uhuru and DP Ruto have agreed in principle to appoint 12 politicians and 10 technocrats to be drawn from both the current civil servants and the private sector.

The source indicates Uhuru and Ruto will each nominate 11 people – six politicians and five technocrats each – who will be vetted by the National Assembly’s Committee on Appointments.

The names of potential appointees were not immediately available but the list, according to sources, includes at least six serving Cabinet secretaries who are considered to have performed well in their dockets, although with a possibility of being shuffled. Uhuru is said to have informed six CSs and 10 principal secretaries that they are being considered for re-appointment.

4. Willy Bet

5. Najib Balala

6. Adan Mohammed

A principal secretary in one of the infrastructural ministries is set to be elevated to the position of head of the civil service and the President’s chief of staff to replace Joseph Kinyua, who is said to have requested to retire. A former minister is also reportedly lined up for the secretary to the Cabinet post.

Reports suggest the expanded Cabinet was informed by the leaders’ desire to ensure inclusive appointments by drawing in as many appointees from various regions as the Constitution allows. The Constitution provides that the Cabinet consist of not fewer than 14 and not more than 22 Cabinet secretaries. The President, the Deputy President, and the Attorney-General are the other members of the Cabinet.

The two Jubilee leaders are also expected to name principal secretaries (PSs) and diplomats in a balancing act that will take into consideration Uhuru’s legacy and the need to forge a united country following deeply divisive presidential elections.

The two leaders are also reportedly planning a major overhaul of the presidency (office of the President and that of the Deputy President), a move that may see some technocrats dropped and new blood injected as new aides. Uhuru and Ruto have indicated that they will reach out to the Opposition, seen as a charm offensive to calm the other side that has vowed never to recognise their presidency.

ODM Mourns The DEATH Of David Odhiambo Churchill At Salgaa Ghastly Accident

MESSAGE OF CONDOLENCE ON THE PASSING OF DAVID ODHIAMBO CHURCHILL

On behalf of the Orange Democratic Movement Party’s National Executive Council, the National Secretariat and on my own behalf, I wish to sincerely condole with the family of David Odhiambo Churchill following a ghastly accident at Salgaa in the early hours of yesterday.

Churchill has been the pillar of the Party not only at Lucky Summer and Ruaraka Constituency, but in Nairobi at large.

He was visible and inspiring in the manner he coordinated our presidential campaign in his sub branch in the run up to August 8 elections.

We wish his family the fortitude and presence of mind to go this traumatic experience.

May his soul rest in eternal peace.

Dear Uhuru, You Clung To Power, Well, Here Is What You Must Do To Make Kenya Great

As We Begin 2018, Kenya Will Achieve A Middle Income Economy If It Does The Following:

1. Admit over 300,000 Students to University each year. With our current population of over 46m, we should have at any given time over 2million students in all our Universities. Every Middle Income Economy and above, admit minimum of 65% Of its High School graduates to University. The remaining 35% go to Diploma Colleges unless they don’t want to. Education systems in Europe, America & Asia creates a pathway for every High School graduate to proceed to Higher Education.
To all those that graduate from Form Four each year, at least 40% of them should go to tertiary education (degree & diploma colleges). At the moment, only 4% of Kenyans have tertiary education. Israel has 46%.

2. Our tarmac roads should be increased from the current potholed 11,000 km to genuine tarmac roads of over 70,000km … every Kenyan should be within 5Km Of Tarmac road. Fake tarmac roads shouldn’t be allowed. We must adopt international standards. And each County should have a functioning airstrip. (As to whether SGR is a viable economic project, I leave it to our Economists)

3. Every Kenyan home should have power and water supply. Potable water supply produces a healthier nation and eliminates “poverty diseases” that Kenya still has like cholera. Water & power supply will also support cottage industry.

4. Make NHIF cover mandatory for all Kenyans. Every Kenyan over 18 years must have cover at minimum monthly pay of Kshs. 300/=. Like in Rwanda, if one is too poor to afford the Kshs. 300/=, the neighours will fundraise. Why do we love fundraising medical and funeral bills for individuals when it is easier to pay for him NHIF cover of paltry Kshs. 3,600/= annually?

5. Judiciary must be truly independent as the Constitution says. Judges must be without any interference. Judiciary must have absolute financial & administrative independence. Judiciary must never be an appendage Of the Executive.
6. Respect of private property & ownership be at the core. Kenya is a Capitalist State, not a Socialist Paradise. People shall eat by the sweat of their brow. But it is capitalism with a human face. Anyone who violates sanctity of private property should be treated as a terrorist.

7. Professionalize the Security Services: We Don’t need 150,000 potbellied army or 180,000 illiterate Police. Before one enters any tertiary college, one must undertake compulsory 6months NYS Service then from the pool, volunteers join the Army and Police. But the total standing number in the Army & Police shouldn’t exceed 100,000, and pay them minimum salary of Kshs. 200,000/= and equip & house them like Singapore. Corruption will end.

”Dear Citizen Uhuru, It is Not Yet Over, You Must Vacate Office”- Raila Warns Uhuru

NASA supreme leader  and people’s president Raila Odinga and his NASA co-principals have indicated political duel against President Uhuru Kenyatta’s over rigged 2017 presidential election will re-start this week.

This means we are not yet done with politics characterized by mass action, police brutality  and stagnated economy just like it was in 2017.

In his New Year message to Kenyans, Raila promised NASA will unveil a programme for civil disobedience, peaceful protests and noncooperation against Uhuru “illegitimate government”.

According to the ODM leader, the People’s Assemblies are also expected to be up and running in this first week.

“NASA’s position remains that until electoral justice is achieved, we will not recognise the Jubilee regime and the so-called election of Uhuru Kenyatta as President,” Raila said in a hard-hitting message.

He added, however, that the looming political duel could only be averted if Jubilee accepts to come to the negotiating table on five key issues. These are fixing the country’s electoral system, reforming the executive, protecting the Judiciary, reforming the security sector and strengthening devolution.

NASA’S WAY FORWARD:

“NASA has two ways: sit down on the negotiating table with our Jubilee opponents and discuss how to fix our electoral system, reform the executive, protect the Judiciary, reform the security sector and strengthen devolution. We are ready for such dialogue as long as these issues are on the table. Alternatively, we take the issues to the people and let them decide without the involvement of the State. Within the first week of the New Year, we will unveil a program for civil disobedience, peaceful protests, non-cooperation with and resistance to an illegitimate regime in addition to People’s Assemblies. NASA’s position remains that until electoral justice is achieved, we will not recognize the Jubilee regime and the so-called election of Uhuru Kenyatta as President,” Hon. Raila Odinga.

But despite attempts by religious leaders and the diplomatic community to broker a settlement, President Uhuru has made it clear he is only ready for talks on “development”.

Buoyed by the return of Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka from Germany, NASA strategists insist Raila’s swearing-in plans are on the cards.

“You will see Raila in his element in 2018. The swearing-in plans have been discussed exhaustively. If Jubilee is not willing to talk, we shall form a parallel government,” a close Raila associate was quoted yesterday.

But as Raila lays out his fightback plan, Uhuru and DP William Ruto are reconstituting their administration and a new Cabinet is in the offing.

At least seven Cabinet Secretaries are likely to be kicked out in the grand housecleaning, as big names, who played key roles in the UhuRuto reelection, are considered for plum positions.

There are jitters in NASA that Uhuru could be planning to raid key Raila and Kalonzo allies by incorporating them in government to isolate the two leaders.

Besides the Cabinet, there are at least 46 principal secretary slots and many positions for parastatal chiefs.

Uhuru is keen to headhunt individuals who can help in spearheading his administration’s agenda so he can secure his legacy.
