HERE Is The Open Letter To President Uhuru That Got Him Shedding Tears Over Handshake Raila

AN OPEN LETTER TO HIS EXCELLENCY PRESIDENT UHURU KENYATTA.
Dear Sir,
I am obligated by my sense of patriotism and my civic responsibility to write to you and for posterity, record and register my unsolicited solmen advice and profound appreciation to the act of selflessness you exhibited by calling the Rt Hon Raila Odinga into your distinguished office for talks that have yielded to the much needed political stability, tranquility and improved environment for investment and a renewal of our sense of nationhood. In Ancient Athens, Friday 9th March 2018, the day of the handshake would be a day reserved for gods, heroes and legends.

Indeed, I realize that this initiative is not a two man affair but an act of a true bearer of the Kenyan dream, a Patriot per Excellence, Uhuru Kenyatta. This your Excellency is your initiative and as Mark Twain once said; ” In the beginning of change, the Patriot is a scarce man, brave, hated and scorned, When his cause succeeds, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a Patriot “.

Your Excellency, you have heard murmurs from different political formations, the same groups that opposed your historic release of the list of corrupt individuals, the famous list of shame on 27th March, 2015 in your State of Nation address in the National Assembly. The merchants of corruption and Lords of tribalism rallied to frustrate and defeat your efforts at confronting corruption head on, they threatened you with dire political consequences and I believe you slowed down cleverly and deliberately so that you may live to fight the monster another day. The same forces have converged and regrouped and are now issuing fresh threats against your commitment to unite Kenya. Once again I am reminded by words of J.F Clarke, ” A politician thinks of the next election, a Statesman, of the next generation”. They are surely motivated in their criticisms by the politics of the next election and not by a journey that you have set for our country- a journey of unity, peace and prosperity. Raila Odinga in his book THE QUEST FOR NATIONHOOD says; “Nations are like the leaning Tower of Pisa. First, Nations are flawed constructions, but it’s their flaws that give them character (the Tower in Pisa is only famous because it is leaning!). Building a Nation takes time. Work proceeds in fits and starts, and continue over many generations”.

Your Excellency, I associate myself with the words of Edmund Burke, who said, ” The great difference between a real Statesman and the pretender is, that one sees into the future, while the other regards only the present; he lives by the day and acts on expedience; the other works on enduring principles and for immortality”.
Your Excellency, stay focused with this initiative, command those who believe in your leadership to align their politics to the vision of your decision. This way, the Country will follow in tune. For in the words of Mark Twain, ” Our Country is not the only thing to which we owe our allegiance. It is also owed to Justice and to humanity. Patriotism consists not in waving the flag, but striving that our country shall be righteous as well as Strong “.

Indeed, the day you shook hands with Rt Hon Raila was a moment of supreme sacrifice on your part, and a clear demonstration of your unquenchable optimism for the future of our beloved country, and more so, your firm grasp of how fragile, delicate and precarious our country is.

For once, you have demonstrated that your commitment to a united country goes beyond the bounds of Political Parties and individual interests. It only takes brave and courageous Leaders to choose to abandon the selfish interests around the Presidency for the greater good of the Nation, just like you and Rt Hon Raila demonstrated, an action which has been replicated far East across the oceans with North and South Korean Leaders agreeing to shake hands.

Your Excellency, addressing the King of Jordan in Geneva at the International Labour Conference in June 2003, a few days before his death in July, Michael Kijana Wamalwa said this: “Recent events in the region not withstanding, Your Majesty must not abandon further efforts in the quest for peace in the Middle East because sooner or later, the protagonists and meglamaniacs will, like Tom and Jerry in the famous Walt Disney cartoon script, ultimately realise that working together is more beneficial than fighting all the time.

Thank you for your kind attention and solemn consideration of this letter. I remain a dedicated Son of Kenya and an advocate of your Kenyan dream.
Signed
Robert M.A Kiberenge

H E Raila Odinga Announces END Of Resistance and Boycott Against Companies That Supported Uhuru Election Rigging

Nasa leader Raila Odinga has today announced the end of the opposition’s civil disobedience and product boycott imposed on several companies after the disputed October 26 repeat elections.

Speaking during this year’s labour day celebrations at Uhuru Park, Raila said he had forgiven Bidco, Safaricom, Brookside and Hako industries.

“I did that because I was bitter with the outcome of the elections. We have agreed to work together with my brother Uhuru Kenyatta for the betterment of the nation,” Raila said:

Last year, Raila urged his supporters to boycott products from corporations he claimed were part of the August election rigging scheme.

He accused Safaricom of abetting rigging through its network.

“Big corporations are part and parcel of killing democracy in Kenya. We have the power and if they want to stifle our democracy, we can retaliate,” Raila said at the time.
But today, Raila said he and President Uhuru are now working together to unite the nation after the March 9 handshake.

Raila called on the government to look for solutions of how to reduce the cost of living among workers.

“If the workers’ wages are increased transport prices also go up rent and also school fees. The workers, therefore, do not enjoy the increase. We need to lower cost of living.” he said.

WHY I Don’t Support The RailaUhuru Handshake Deal- Activists Anwar Sadat

Anwar, Do you have anything positive you can say about Jakom?

Me: Yes, there is not enough pages to contain the positive things I can say about Tinga. For the last 30 years, Jakom has been the fulcrum of Kenyan politics: laws have been imagined and passed to contain him; all tricks known and unknown to Kenyans have been used to block his ascension to the top most seat of the land. When the history of our nation shall be written without bias, every major political event in kenya will have Raila as a footnote.

Then why are you against him lately?

The decisions of Jakom, like the decisions we make must be interrogated for their merits. These decisions must never be viewed in isolation, but in totality. Tinga has made tremendous contributions to our nation state, one which we can never wish away even if his brother refuse to acknowledge him as a Kenyan hero.

I consider Jakom as a Kenyan hero whose place in our history is secured. He is our past and present, but not our future.

Kenyans must now rise up and take hold of their future. We must unit against those who exploit us- it is immoral to pay for electricity that you never use because it’s never their; it is immoral to build for the Deputy President another house in Mombasa for tens of billions of shillings when our hospitals are not equipped. The unemployment rate in this country is sickening; highly educated individuals are underemployed and some lack jobs; the tax burden on citizens is set to rise; the costs of living continue to rise; factories are closing shops.

These are issues very fundamental in the development of any nation. There is a network of individuals, principalities, and powers in high places determine to continue this exploitation. Their order must be disrupted if kenya is to advance and I don’t think that by Joining Jubilee, this is possible.

Why don’t you then give Jakom time and see if anything comes out of this deal?

We know where the handshake ship will dock at. And in that port, there is nothing for Kenyans. But I will put my eyes. In the meantime, there are ongoing consultations to provide an alternative to the handshake. This alternative will involve the participation of all Kenyans. The primary function of any government should be service to its citizens and that is what we seek to do.

Governor Sonko Wins Round One As Civil Society Groups Disowns Interior PS Kibicho

By Nephat Kinyua

Interior PS Karanja Kibicho has been left a disappointed man after his alleged errand boys “Bunge La Mwananchi” disowned him and vowed to work with Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko.

The President of the civil society group, Henry Namiti Shitanda now says they’ll support the leadership of Governor Sonko to give him a conducive environment for implementation of his promises to Nairobians.

Shitanda has said the lobby group will no longer take part in activities aimed at sabotaging the leadership of Governor Sonko.

Last week the group had demanded for the arrest of Governor Sonko for flying the national flag on his official vehicle but Shitanda now says the lobby group is no longer interested in the case since the Governor has not broken any law.

The civil society group leader has however cautioned the national government against withdrawing security for the 47 governor’s saying that the move is a security threat to the county bosses.

Addressing the press Tuesday morning at the historic Jeevanjee Gardens, Shitanda also condemned the acts of hooliganism that was witnessed on Monday during a planned media conference by former Chairman of the Nairobi Central Business District Association Timothy Muriuki.

Shitanda says the hired goons who were captured on camera, are former employees of Nairobi City County and are allegedly on a mission to tarnish the image of the governor.
