A good Self esteem is when you feel good about yourself and start being optimistic; When all those positive thoughts show dominance over the negative thoughts.

Self esteem issues make it harder for you to succeed and be good at what you do. How do you raise your self esteem and make life easier?

1. Stop comparing yourself to others.
Focus on being the best you that you can be without comparing yourself to others. There will always be that person better than you so comparing yourself will just put you at a losing end.

Even if you are not getting any promotions, stop thinking that the rest are better than you.

2. Compliment yourself regularly.
Look in the mirror and say something you like about yourself. Many times, we’re quick to compliment others on their success but hesitate to do the same for ourselves. Its time you start appreciating yourself.

Affirmations can be a good way to express positive feelings about you. For example, “I am beautiful. I am self driven.”

3. Say goodbye to negativity.
Let go of those negative people in your life. Negative people tend to put your ideas down and you end up feeling discouraged and worthless. It is time to walk away from that friend who said you will never find a good job because you are short.

4. Focus on your accomplishments.
Forgive yourself for mistakes and focus on the positive by celebrating your victories. Make a list of you past successes and look at them. It will create a good feeling inside you. It will be a source of encouragement; proof that you can do great things in your life.

5. Make a list of your positive qualities.
Make a list of 20 positive qualities about yourself. A majority of people deal with their inadequacies for long that they forget their positive traits.
Those positive traits are a ladder to a huge self esteem.

6. Live Your Life
Live the life that you want and how you want to live it and not as others want you to live it. Making decisions according to friends and relatives is damaging your self esteem.

7. Find something special in each day.
Some days will turn out to be bad but you can find something special. Treat yourself with that new shoe you saw by the street yesterday.

8. Eat better.
Nourish your body by buying healthier foods and preparing balanced meals. This will help you not to feel sluggish and overstuffed.

9. Explore a passion.
Whether it’s a side job, hobby, or as a volunteer, pursuing your passion in even a small way can lead to a sense of purpose and significantly improve your overall happiness and quality of life.

10. Reduce sensitivity to the negative remarks people say.
Let go as easily as those remarks were made. People make inconsiderate and insensitive remarks and ignoring such remarks and taking them as not being true. If you desire to change let it be on your terms and not what somebody else has said about you

11. Give up on the stressing and worrying.
Through this you beat yourself up and they will just sip that self esteem out of you leaving you drained, anxious and feeling stuck. Tell yourself that you are special. You are not on earth by chance or by accident, there is a purpose for you on earth. Do not put yourself down.
Challenge yourself to move forward. Start achieving things and see the difference. Trust your abilities, qualities and judgment

Powerful Tribute To Raila Man DONALD KIPKORIR’s Daughter From The Kisii Banana Peddler

It is heartwarming to celebrate and felicitate senior counsel Dr. Donald B. Kipkorir’s daughter who just graduated the penultimate day in one of the prestigious schools in Kenya. I want to take pleasure in joining the rest of my fellow compatriots who have readily drenched the young intelligent girl with waters of saintly accolades in the streets of Facebook and Twirrer. She truly deserves them. It gladdens my heart that despite being birthed in a well-to-do, the girl knows well there is no tree in her father’s compound that grows money.

She has elected to read harder and make her own some day. Indeed, the fille has convincingly proved beyond any iota of doubt that she took after her industrious parents. For haters and traducers burning with anger, keep hurling stones the stones jealousy at the person young egghead until you fatigue. After all, we all know the tree that stones are directed at. But remember to seek God and repent. Please!

The young lady graduated from GEMS Cambridge International School, Karen emerging the best student. To buttress her brilliance, the girl was a valedictorian at the graduation ceremony held in her school. For those who are not accustomed to GEMS, it is a prestigious international school that encompasses less local students. It therefore means that Ms Kipkorir fried both local and international students in the same pan. Kenyans are blazing the trail world over. But as a country, we are still on journey heading to nowhere.

Congratulations to legal cognoscente Dr. Donald B. Kipkorir’s family and to all Kenyans. Donald is a man of impeccable character and passionate convictions. As an unrivalled and distinguished grammarian, he is the man who influenced my love for writing. I am really grateful to him for initiating me into his literary museum. As a respecter of the muse, I believe in Donald’s exceptional natural capacity of intellect. Congratulations to Jadine Kipkorir and other Kenyans who make us proud out there. The joy of any parent is to see their children triumph in their endeavors. By her sterling performance, Ms Kipkorir just did that for her country and parents.

Like father, like daughter in the scholarly world. I am just a banana peddler but that doesen’t mean when I detect a meritorious achievement, I can’t acknowledge and celebrate it nevertheless. You see, during our days, children used to obey their parents unlike today where parents obey their children. Donald has proved this narrative otherwise because he nurtured his daughter with maximum discipline. That is why I am writing about her today.

The achievement of Kipkorir’s daughter; just like any other Kenyan citizen in the Diaspora is what all Kenyans ought to celebrate with patriotic enthusiasm. We should close our eyes to the antecedents of the brilliant father in Donald. Donald Kipkorir has trained and academically armed his daughter. After campus the pulchritudinous young missy will be ready to join other formidable intellectual Kenyans who make us proud world over.

Luckily for Donald, he is a man who shares traits with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. His daughter’s exemplary performance is proof positive that when you do right, God never forsakes you. As a straight thinking bloke, Donald has never dined with the Kenyan political vultures. He has never sullied his reputation by soiling his hands. His integrity and intellectual acuity remains intact. He hasn’t shamed us by hurtling into a government whose motive is to loot the nation red and bring the Treasury to near zero. He has never traumatized our collective memory as a nation. Hopefully, we will never mourn his expunge from the constituency of the great thinkers and exit from literary consciousness.

Young miss Kipkorir’s exceptional performance keeps tomorrow’s hope alive. With such a great mind, she has she has proved that we can break away from the ugly past and face the future with eagerness and gradually return our nation to decency. Kenya has a lot of great minds yet untapped. We only need to break away from the shenanigans of the past i.e. corruption of cutting corners and face the future with unhindered progress and opportunity. The emergence of great minds like the young Miss Kipkorir, only confirms that meritocracy has been born to replace mediocrity. With people like her, the future is reassured.

Finally, to the young girl, I wish you well in the courses you are about to read. But I want assure you on one thing, your father is a great man. The fact that he shares the first name with this other character called Trump does not mean he shares his weird traits. Always keep a good company, surround yourself with persons whose IQ is anything but170 and above, just like yours. Always remember the saying that “A still tongue makes a wise head” Be quick to learn but slow to condemn. Although “A watched pot never boils” always be careful of every decision you make in life. Work hard and smart and your father will support you.

Always learn to make amends when you make mistakes to avoid pitfalls especially in this country where we are religious but ungodly. Otherwise with future leaders like you, Kenya will not only be on the road to greatness, but she’ll be the hub of investment and the cynosure of all eyes in the comity of nations. When you journey Kisii County with your parents someday, we can share a cup of uji together. Once again, congratulation to the Kipkorirs.

Nairobi Senator Jonson Sakaja astonished the residents of Dagoretti when he visited reformed hardcore thug popularly known by his famous moniker DERE to see how he’s coping with crime-free life.

Senator Sakaja took with him among other things, basic necessities like household items and food. Above all, he promised to move him to a better place where he can live a better life and eschew revising his erstwhile life.

Residents of Dagoretti were mesmerized to see their senator trek in the nooks and crannies of their neighbourhood.

The Senator who is also a renowned chess guru mingled with the humble compatriots and even unsuccessfully challenged them on checkers game where he was given a KABUTI by a ghetto Ninja who ran away with the ultimate price. He vowed to revisit the challenge nevertheless.

‘You are a Haunted Man Who Killed His Brother,” Hon Cleophas Malala Blasts Village Bully Ruto Made CS Achesa (VIDEO)

The clash between Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala and Sports Cabinet Secretary Rashid Echesa’s supporters point to the ongoing supremacy wars in the politics of succession in Western Kenya.

For the first time in decades, a new and younger breed of politicians is stepping out of the shadows of the traditional kingpins to claim their place and fill an anticipated vacuum to be left with the exit of the region’s political old boys.

While Echesa said Malala was envious of his government position, the later observed that the Cabinet Secretary was yet to understand his roles and accused him of instigating the Friday fracas.

The political fight between the two, Malala a thespian and Echesa a former boxer, could perhaps signify the deeper underlying currents in the politics of a reign struggling to find a unifying voice.

With both Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi and Bungoma Senator Moses Wetang’ula finding it increasingly difficult to maintain relevance, the two have perhaps seen opportunity as the region prepares for a change of guard.

Political analyst Martin Andati, however, believes that the two are an extension of a surrogate war between Deputy President William Ruto and Opposition leader Raila Odinga, with Echesa fighting for the later and Malala for the former.

“The political war is being cascaded from the national to the local level, with the two representing each of their sides. It has nothing to do with generational change, Mudavadi still has an edge in the region’s politics, though he has been slow to take the responsibility strongly,” said Andati.

The new kids on the block might have a bruising style, but so did those who came before them. At one time, firebrand politics was what the region was known for.

Former Butere MP Martin Shikuku and former ministers Peter Habenga Okondo and Fred Gumo never shied away from confrontation, either through their words or fists. Shikuku’s acerbic tongue and witty statements put him and Butere on the map. Although Gumo, who is seen as the father of rough politics, was elected in Nairobi, his political tentacles were felt all the way to western where he ran his politics with an iron fist and thrived in his Fanya Fujo Uone moniker. It was either his way of the highway.

Former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale and former Lugari MP Cyrus Jirongo were the later day politicians who at one point in their careers came close to matching Shikuku’s political agility.

It is the exit of these initial crop of leaders that is culminating into the jostling for space by the newly elected, newly appointed, newly influential crop of young leaders in western.

President Uhuru Kenyatta’s bespectacled younger brother is a master at effacing himself. To his closest friends, Muhoho Kenyatta is simply MK. To the employees of the many companies in the Kenyatta business empire, he is simply known as Chairman.

He is known to be the engine behind the Kenyatta Empire and interests, extremely low-key and protective of his immediate family.

The sturdy third born of Mama Ngina and the founding father is the only brother to President Uhuru Kenyatta and a man feared and revered by both friends and foes for his forthright manner. So lethal is he that when blogger Robert Alai posted a picture of his family in hospital, he got him bundled in a boot like a common thief and into a police cell.

After graduating from Williams College in Massachusetts USA, he returned to Kenya to join elder brother Uhuru in building an empire from the raw material in terms of Land and cash holdings left behind by his father and more accumulated by his mother.

Instances are told when he literally walked past a battery of journalists, into the boardroom of Mediamax on Kijabe Street without many journalists recognizing or feeling his presence. They only learnt later that the man who had passed right under their noses was indeed President Uhuru Kenyatta’s kid brother.

A journalist who has interacted with MK whom he describes as the engine driving the vast Kenyatta business empire, recalls how the man waltzed into Bomas of Kenya on August 9 last year right under the noses of journalists, spent hours in the hall, without cameras clicking away

As Kenya teetered on the brink and politicians squabbled over the presidential polls, the photo journalists deployed at the polls nerve centre had no idea that Muhoho was in the house.

“He arrived at midnight and found NASA (opposition leaders) had already set up camp with computers and laptops. He was accompanied by Jomo Gecaga,” the journalist recalls.

Muhoho appeared concerned that the NASA team had been allowed into the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission portal from where they were verifying results. He consulted the Jubilee IT team and confronted some IEBC officials. Only after he was satisfied that NASA was not being given undue advantage did he settle down, chatting with some of the Jubilee politicians as the presidential election results trickled in.

He left at the break of dawn.

One of the few other occasions when Muhoho has come out in what may be construed as a political forum was when his older brother was fighting for his freedom in 2013 after he was charged at the International Criminal Court. At that time, the family matriarch, Mama Ngina Kenyatta would mobilize family members to pray for Uhuru and Muhoho would join them. Even though he might be seen as a recluse, those who know him say he is in charge of the family business and chairs the boards of all companies in the vast Kenyatta conglomerate that has interests in the dairy, banking, insurance and hospitality industries.

He is also said to have a soft spot for wazungu and Indians over Africans.

A story is told of an older Mzungu employed as the herd manager for the Kenyattas substantial cattle herd in the expansive Gicheha Farms, a herd that became the foundation for Brookside Dairy. This gentleman, eccentric, would drive around in a well-kept, old green jeep Jalopy whose most interesting feature was a manual fan on the dashboard, which he would turn on during the super-hot days.

On One occasion, against common sense and the advice of a Kenyan veterinary officer, this gentleman either neglected or forgot to follow a prescription for the herd and in the end, a large number of the cows died. Under ordinary circumstances, this was ground for sacking, however, Mo admonished him and he continued with his duties.
His co-workers believed that it been them in his place, Mo would have ejected them from the premises!

Their passes were so inaccurate that you could be mistaken to think you were watching APONDO STARS.This points to bad stewardship the baldheaded crook with a stomach so big like a python that has swallowed a baby elephant imbued on the team. He failed pathetically, he was hopelessly incompetent.

Just like that, he made a demagogue out of Messi; the once mesmerizing star boy with dazzling juggling skills was now more confused than a Bombay prostitute. He was missing the ball and kicking his legs. He was falling down like a comedian in those badly scripted 51 Iweka Road Movies of Nigeria. He thought this was an event for kindergarten babies.

This is how any idiot can turn Dubai into Darfur in no minute, and just like that, the coach turned the much hyped mighty Argentina into a silly laughing stock. This has killed me completely.

Raila Odinga has in a matter of days achieved in the South Sudan peace process, what the IGAD, AU and UN could not achieve for years on end. He is the same Raila Amollo that the international community felt was the best suited to mediate peace in Cote d’Ivoire when it was on the brink of disintegrating. The same one whose list of close personal friends include Olusegun Obasanjo, Pombe Magufuli and Cyril Ramaphosa. The one whom some of the most reputable Universities and think tanks in the West invite to deliver lectures to the most eminent audiences you can assemble anywhere on the globe. He is a global icon.

That is why when on the local political arena, whenever you hear a village politician who holds night meetings with his acolytes in which they converse only in their village dialect, repeatedly hurl such village insults as ‘yule jamaa wa vitendawili’, you ought to be reminded of the fact that even if France and Saudi Arabia sometimes find themselves in one tournament every four to eight years, they are by no means equals. We are past the group stage. We are now in the ‘Vitendawili phase’, there are those still in the fight, and those now in the flight.
