Citizen TV is fake , being used to fight me, Gov. Sonko says after Mbagathi hospital expose

Nairobi governor Mike Sonko has blasted Citizen TV over a story it ran about the state of Mbagathi Hospital.

According to the story, expectant mothers were forced to labour on benches outside, forced to share beds with their newborns due to the negligence of the Nairobi County Government. On the same day, Sonko had donated medical equipment to Machakos County.

Sonko has blasted the media house claiming that the whole story was pure malice sponsored by his political rivals to destroy him.

The controversial county boss who defended himself claimed that the reporter used a stale video clip taken months ago before he had stepped in renovating the hospital.

“They’re saying this is the situation since 26th April 2018 while I personally toured the hospital on 3rd May 2019 to inspect the rehabilitation of the main 120 bed capacity maternity wing with a newborn unit, Labour ward, Kangaroo mother care, 2 maternity modern theatres, an ICU room and a pharmacy which will be ready for use once the works are complete within a month”, read part of his Facebook post.

Mbagathi Hospital has been on the spot over lack of medicine, lack of equipment and facilities, inadequate and qualified manpower, leaking roofs and cracked walls for a while, remarks which Sonko refuted being the hospital’s current situation few months after he rehabilitated.

Sonko who questioned the authenticity of the story asked why the reporter never interviewed any of the patients or their relatives to prove the allegations.

“The framed story was full of malice coz apart from the reporter kuropoka kama parrot there’s no patient or any patient’s relative being interviewed to air their grievances or confirm the said allegations as reported,” he ranted.

Photos: DP Ruto attends daughter’s graduation in Athi River(Daystar university)

Deputy William Ruto and his wife Rachel Ruto on Thursday attended the graduation ceremony of their daughter Stephanie Jepchumba at Strathmore University.

During the graduation ceremony, DP William Ruto rejected to seat at the high table and insisted that he had attended the ceremony as a common parent.

For the big day, the Deputy President opted for a casual look in blue jeans and a maroon t-shirt while his wife chose a short white number.

In June, Ruto’s other daughter, Charlene, was also among hundreds of students from Daystar University in Athi River who graduated with a communications degree.

During that period, he took to social media to celebrate Charlene’s academic achievements.

The deputy president shared photos from the graduation ceremony on his Instagram page with the message, “Today I am a proud father, our daughter from Daystar University. She has made my wife Rachel and I proud. Parents should always strive to support their children in whatever way they can.”

DP Ruto’s mother also attended the graduation.

OLUNGA: “Governor SONKO’s promise of Sh20m motivated us”

By Joseph Mathenge
Kenya’s assistant captain Engineer Michael Olunga has said that their win against Tanzania yesterday was inspired by Nairobi governor Mike Sonko’s promise of Ksh20million.

According to Olunga who also pulled a brace against Taifa Stars, the boys felt motivated by the cash and were eying the prize.

Speaking while receiving his man of the match award, he said the boys will put up the same spirit against Senegal and fight with to the end. He said if they humbled Ghana, they can do it against Senegal.

The brace propelled the Japan-based hitman to the top of Kenya’s all-time top scorers list in the competition with two goals.

Michael Olunga announced himself to the Africa Cup of Nations in spectacular fashion on Thursday night with two quality strikes that powered Kenya to a 3-2 victory over Tanzania in a Group “C” match at 30 June Stadium in Cairo.

All other Kenyan scorers at this stage have just one goal – Jonathan Niva, Daniel Arudhi, Peter Ouma (1972), Micky Weche (1992), Emmanuel Ake, Dennis Oliech and Johna Baraza (2004).

Olunga guided an overhead kick low into the net to open Kenya’s account on the day and then grabbed the winner in fine fashion, charging into Tanzania’s danger area before unleashing a ground hugging shot that beat the despairing Tanzanian goalkeeper Aishi Manula all the way. Johanna Omollo accounted for the other goal by Kenya.

First I want to thank God for the victory. We knew it was a do-or-die match for us. It was very important that we win and we prepared for this,” Olunga said.

I want to thank the leadership of Nairobi led by his Excellency Governor Mike Sonko for the motivation and continued support that propelled us to victory” He added.

DP Ruto will punish entire Mt Kenya if he wins 2022, he is bitter, angry and unforgiving- Hon Thuku

By Wahome Thuku

WHEN Moi was Vice President, he was mistreated and humiliated by a handful of Kikuyu mafia from Kiambu. Its said one or two of the them even physically assaulted him with impunity.

When he took over power in 1978, his mind was fixed on one and only one agenda, to run over the entire Kikuyu race like an earthmover. Not just the few – 10 or 20 – mafia who had offended him but the entire tribe irrigadless.

If he was not detaining them, he was rendering the economically useless. He ensured every sector of their economy collapsed by every available means. He used his henchmen from other regions, he frustrated their businesses, he sparked off tribal clashes leading to death and eviction of young and old Gikuyu generations.

It didn’t matter who you were as long as you came from Central Province you were enemy number one.
You would only survive if you were dead in KANU and Nyayo sycophancy.

Ofcourse the MPesa generation will never know about this, untill history repeats itself.

Team Embrace visits Raila’s bedrock, plans to meet Baby Pendo’s mother

The Embrace Women Group will today (Friday) be pitching camp in Kisumu County, after its recent tour of Muranga County.

The group consists of women leaders in support of President Uhuru Kenyatta’s 2018 truce with Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga.

Led by Youth Affairs Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) Rachel Shebesh, the group has argued that its agenda is preaching peace and cohesion among Kenyans.

In a tweet on Friday, the group said that it will be pitching camp in Kisumu County where it will be hosted by area Woman Representative Rosa Buyu.

“Today we are heading to the lakeside city hosted by Hon Rosa Buyu Tukutane Kisumu #EmbraceInKisumu,” read the tweet.

The leaders, according to the tweet, will hold a rally at the Kenyatta Sports Ground in the Governor Anyang’ Nyong’o-led county, and also address matters concerning gender-based violence.

They will also visit Lancer Achieng, mother to the late baby Samantha Pendo who was killed by police officers during the 2017 post-election violence in Nyalenda Estate.

The group has been receiving criticisms from a recently compiled rival group dubbed ‘Inua Mama’, which consists of forces allied to Deputy President William Ruto.

Reactions after Kenyans robbed Safaricom free bundles, minutes and sms(30 days)

Giant Telco company Safaricom is counting huge loses after a technical error saw Kenyans purchase huge data bundles without paying for anything.

Rumours spread like bush fire on social media cycles, that the Safaricom Platinum service was undergoing a technical hitch and you could buy any type of bundle and choose to pay with Bonga Points. Customers got the data, free minutes and free sms even without having the Bonga points.
Thousands of Kenyans used this service to purchase monthly data. At one time, the system had so much traffic that it refused to load. But Kenyans kept going for the free data.
Some people suggested that this might not have been a technical hitch but rather a way of Safaricom celebrating with its users after Kenya’s dramatic win over Tanzania in the Afcon 2019 match played on Thursday night.
Here are some of the hilarious reactions:
