I thought that is why they stole power! To transform the lives of Kenyans.

Why are they working hard to drag Jaduong’ into their mess and wars? They should not use Raila as scarecrow as they steal from the very people they should be fighting for like farmers.

*APPOINT A JUDICIAL COMMISSION OF INQUIRY INTO NATIONAL SECURITY THREAT POSED BY DUMPING OF POISONED CONTRABAND CONSUMMABLE PRODUCTS*

The unraveling corruption scandals are disturbing to the conscience of the Nation. Evidently, there is systemic problem with public institutions at the forefront of abetting fraud, looting and outright theft of public resources. Stealing now threatens the very constitutional foundation of the right to life and therefore national security of the people of Kenya.

Whereas the President’s public declaration of war against the vice is welcome, it is time to walk the talk by instituting extreme and long-lasting measures.

The on-going investigations and intended prosecutions are limited in scope to third-tier culprits. They will not provide satisfactory deterrence to guarantee the country’s safety from purveyors of death. More pro-active interventions must therefore be taken to slay this systemic catastrophe of corruption without prejudicing the on-going parallel criminal proceedings.

We therefore recommend that the President appoints a Judicial Commission of Inquiry under the Commissions of Inquiry Act, Chapter 102 of the Laws of Kenya. Section 3 of the said law empowers the President to appoint a commission to inquire into the conduct of any public officer or the conduct or management of any public body; or into any matter into which an inquiry would, in the opinion of the President, BE IN THE PUBLIC INTEREST.

If the current corruption scandals are not in public interest, then nothing is. We must find out what is wrong, where. The commission will enable the public and whistleblowers to participate, truth will be told and culprits identified, shamed and jailed. The country will also know who the masterminds are and the clandestine roles of public officers, public institutions, vendors and private sector players in the plunder of our country, and the premeditated poisoning of Kenyans. The serious issue at the center of national security is that whole populations are covertly being fed on poison. And this has been going on for along time.

The commission we propose should have specific timelines of less than six months so as not to be converted into another cover-up maneuver.

The commission’s terms of reference should include inquiry into the conduct and culpability of:

1. Public Health (Standards) Board

The Board is established under the Food Drugs and Chemical Substances Act. It is charged with the duty to prevent adulteration of food, drugs and chemical substances. The inquiry should not stop at the sugar scandal alone in unearthing the role of this Board, but cascade to scams at the NCPB fertilizer adulteration, and other contraband imports fronts.

2. The Sugar Directorate and Agriculture and Food Authority.

The contraband sugar case and related illicit trade in foodstuffs are indicative that Kenyans maybe consuming life-threatening food products courtesy of the very institutions they are funding to protect them. Undoubtedly this may indeed be the source of the rising rate of diseases related to food. The commission may want to find out what value this entity adds to the food chain for Kenyans or contribution to the food scarcity that encourages illegal imports imports?

3. Local Sugar Firms

The role of local sugar firms in destroying the sugar industry must be unearthed. This is not the first time that imported sugar is being branded as local produced sugar and sold in the market. Almost every other shopkeeper is branding sugar in their name. Why should factories licensed to grow sugarcane and manufacture sugar be net importers of the commodity? Is it not criminal that these companies have impoverished millions of Kenyans under pretext of manufacturing sugar which they instead import and repackage, to the detriment of farmers and factory workers? Aren’t these economic saboteurs?

4. The National Treasury

Treasury is mandated to grant waivers to sugar importers in cases of shortage arising from inadequate production of sugar by our local firms. Waivers are conditional and time bound. Were the imports and waivers warranted at the time? Can the Treasury tell Kenyans how long the imports free window was, names of the companies which granted waiver and on what basis? What measures did Treasury put in place to police its conditions? How complicit was the Treasury to the extent that it failed to seek the permission of Parliament before granting the waiver as lawfully required?

5. National Security Agencies and Operations at the Kenya Ports Authority

The Kenya Ports Authority’s mandate is to “maintain, operate, improve and regulate all scheduled seaports” on the country’s coastline. At the Port of Mombasa, Kenya Revenue Authority, Kenya Bureau of Standards and National Police Service have officers to validate who and what enters into the country. The same obtains at all other entry points into the country. How did bad sugar, laced with poisonous substances, gain entry into the country? Who convinces KRA, KEBS and NPS officers to look the other way as contraband is offloaded into Kenya?

6. Kenya Bureau of Standards

KEBS is responsible for standardization and specification of commodities. How come contraband goods bear KEBS certification marks and stamps? Is KEBS complicit in fake stamps? Does it have capacity to track and identify fake goods? Are its appointed goods inspection agents in countries of origin negligent or complicit?

7. The Executive

Who’s is fooling who? The President wants the masterminds embedded in government and their proxy culprits nabbed. His ministers are talking at cross-purpose. It is in public domain that the Cabinet Secretaries have issued conflicting statements on contrabands. The Government Chemist and the KEBS are also at variance in their findings. Another strand is routing for traders caught in the crackdown to be exempted of the crime. The question is; who is telling the truth and are Kenyans safe, Mr President?

There was a time Ruto used to castigate opposition for politicking 24/7, 365 days, and 5 years on end. During those days, he would tell us that rather than tour every part of Kenya, we should give Jubilee time to develop the nation.

Today, William Ruto is politicking 24/7, 365 days on end and he intends to do it for 5 years. He will be doing this against a backdrop of increased unemployment among the youths that just hit 58% according to UNDP’s latest numbers, the highest unemployment rate of any Eastern and Central African country.

Kenyans don’t have jobs, our education system is collapsing, our roads are terrible, our medical facilities are dilapidated, but yet those in charge of our government continue to borrow money and then loot it to facilitate the buying of loyalty.

Ruto and his team are empty debes making a lot of noises to distract us from holding Jubilee accountable. We all must ask that Jubilee show us their record. We need to see the jobs, internships, the medical equipment, the better roads, the free secondary and primary education, the lower taxes, the improved security situation, the reduced corruption.

William Ruto has nothing new to offer Kenyans post 2022 that he couldn’t offer in the 10 years he has been a Co-President.

How Coast Iron Lady Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa Personally Returned Her Dowry When Husband Refused to Allow Her Join Politics

In a highly Patriarchal society like Kenya, a woman who is opinionated, strong-willed and outspoken is often by default dogged by controversy.

That is why even though other male counterparts in coast have expressed support for DP William Ruto, Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa’s defiance even when ODM Party threatened her with sanction stands out. Consequently, she is on the lips of many.

“Junet, I am ready for you. Mr Man, you can proceed … I am ready for you,” those were her words, unperturbed at the thought of song the lucrative PSC position.

Fearless, stoic and daring to the core, Raila Odinga once labeled her as Mekatilili wa Menza-reincarnate.

But did you know that it is the same politics that cost her her marriage?

According to reports published in the Standard, She started as a political activist at the Coast, going around, attending political meetings and yelling herself hoarse over what she termed as injustices at the Coast.

Her husband got jittery with each meeting she attended. He finally told her to stop. Jumwa refused, and when he threatened to divorce her, she told him to suit himself.

“He said if I wanted to continue with my life, I should pay him dowry. We went to the sub-chief, made the decision and I paid back the dowry,”.

In fact, word has it that she Personally whipped the dowry cows, all the way to her in-laws.

After the divorce, she went full throttle into politics and was elected Kilifi Woman Representative. During campaigns, she wowed crowds through song, dance, poems, and punchy speeches delivered in flawless Swahili.

She knew what the crowd wanted, and she added melodrama to sway them at the ballot box. When Malindi went to the by-election in 2016, Jumwa delivered victory for ODM and knocked the daylights off the men who wanted to rock her boat. Her past is said to have predisposed her to relentless fight.

Born in a polygamous family with about 30 siblings, Jumwa had a childhood fraught with poverty. She dropped out in Form Two, and admits that she returned to school as an adult after doing manual jobs.

Those who went to school with her say she is an opportunist who seeks the slightest crack and wiggles in to gain relevance. She knows how the cards work, the ones to place on the table, and when to bare them all, especially in seeking political mileage.

Senator Kithure Kindiki Must Stop Using Raila’s Name to Beg For Ruto’s Deputy Position

Deputy Senate Speaker Kithure Kindiki is one of those who are OPENLY positioning themselves to be named the DP William Ruto’s running mate in the 2022 polls.

He was Ruto’s lawyer when he faced crimes against humanity at the Hague and pegs their assumed closeness to clinch the running-mate position when the truth is Tharaka Nithi is a trivial County as far as GEMA politics is concerned.

The professor of Law has now tuned to blaming Raila Odinga over the frosty relationship between President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy.

While it is clear that Ruto’s woes in Jubilee are compounded by his disregard fr the rule of thumb that one must never try to outsmart his boss, Kindiki lays the blame elsewhere.

“The DP has been very conscious about his position in Jubilee and government. Never at any time has he competed or tried to upstage the President,” he states.

He downplays the divisions, saying what is happening is characteristic of succession politics.

But he blames opposition leader Raila Odinga for stoking conflict in the ruling party.

“We have the handshake people salivating for Jubilee’s largesse. They are out to upset the political equilibrium,” the senator said.

In the last few weeks, the allies of the president and deputy president have engaged in a tit-for-tat campaign of leaking damaging stories about the rival camps, developments which may improve accountability by revealing stories of alleged graft between the two camps.

Kikuyu Council of Elders Led by Uhuru’s Uncle George Muhoho Out to Bury DP Ruto

It is a cinch that the camaraderie between President Uhuru Kenyatta and his once trusted Deputy William Ruto found on mutual Hague indictments is now nothing but a veiled disdain and subtle hostility.

When Peter Kenneth organised a Church fundraising in Kapseret, Uasin Gishu County, a senior figure in Government and who is leading the anti Ruto faction called certain MPs in Jubilee and warned them against setting foot in that Harambee.

“On Sunday, Peter Kenneth has invited me for a rally he is doing with Oscar Sudi in Eldoret. There is a camp fighting Ruto. So it is telling us we should not set foot in Eldoret on Sunday,” a Mt. Kenya Senator confided to
a local daily.

After months of downplaying the stringent relationship between him and his boss, Ruto on Friday while at a function in Githunguri, Kiambu County, cried out that his back was roasting.

“There is an attempt to try and undermine the track record of Jubilee. Therefore, to those peddling propaganda, let them continue; but we will meet with them on the judgement day (2022 elections) and the electorate will decide who is a performer and who is a propagandist,” Mr Ruto said.

Kikuyu Council of Elders, comprising President Kenyatta’s uncle George Muhoho, and its Secretary-General, the Rev Peter Munga, said in a recent interview that an initiative launched last May in Eldoret for Kalenjin and Kikuyu elders to promote Mr Ruto’s 2022 bid stood suspended, and that the council was now focused on building bridges under the aegis of the March 9 handshake between President Kenyatta and his erstwhile arch-rival Raila Odinga.

“It is no longer tenable to go round the country talking about one presidential candidate while others are still (waiting) in the wings,” Rev Munga said.

The Challenge Of Being The First Born In Africa; You Forced To Be A Parent At Ten!

Most of the firstborns I schooled with used to have tighter schedules than mine. While I would use the last 5 minutes of breaktime to get sunshine on my legs, they would be busy escorting their younger siblings to the toilet or their classrooms.

When our parents left home to win bread, our eldest siblings took over the role of brushing our shoes amongst other chores they loathed. They became our nannies, our cooks, our teachers. Our goals. Our best friends. Our parents.

Parents forget that firstborn children are children too. They battle anxieties and depression because of the inconsistencies and trauma of juggling between the roles of a parent and that of a child. They also become the hand that always gives and never dries. They are the first to panic when the family’s shit hits the fan and the first to be called during any emergency. In short, adult firstborns carry the most weight of their family’s baggage (in the typical modern toxic setting).

Firstborn adults deserve governmental pardon on their taxes. They should not be allowed to queue in any Tuskys or KCB branches. Their avocados should be imported directly from Mexico and their maternal/paternal leaves to be extended to a year for every child conceived. The government should get even more pissed off and introduce a Firstborns public holiday, whose celebration will last a week long.

You deserve that and even much more, you spesh wads of joy!
