Sen SONKO exposes how Milimani law Courts Principal Magistrate allegedly assisted a public land grabber

Milimani Law courts Principal magistrate D.W Mburu has issued Shital Bhandari with a court order restraining the government from repossessing the land belonging to Nairobi Water and Sewerage company.

According to sources the magistrate is alleged to have been compromised by a person known as Zachary Baraza of Siuma Auctioneers.

The Principal Magistrate has disobeyed the executive order issued by President Uhuru Kenyatta who ordered National Land Commission Chairman Mohammed Swazuri to revoke the fake title deed in possession by the land grabber who hails from Pakistan.

The order maintains Bhandari owns the land and was building on it, and also stops all earlier orders seeking to evict him from the property.

This comes just days after Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet ordered the arrest of anyone setting foot on the Loresho land which is reserved for expansion of a water reservoir.

Boinnet said it is the mandate of police to protect public utilities, adding the land will be guarded therefore no construction should go on.

The land has been subdivided into nine parcels and Loresho Residents Association chairman Richard Njoba said an acre has been hived off by Bhandari, who is putting up a multi million shilling shopping mall.

Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko over the week led Boinet, Swazuri, CID Boss Ndegwa Muhoro and EACC CEO Halakhe Waqo to the four acre piece of land and he called on police to probe Bhandari’s intentions.

“Just like the Westgate terrorists who hired space inside the mall, this man might be having ill intentions by grabbing the water reservoir which supplies water to Gigiri, Lavington, Loresho, Westlands and other parts of Narobi and its environs” Sonko said.

Sonko on Friday last week obtained court orders blocking the developers from taking over the land.
CID director has also directed his sleuths to guard the water reservoir.

“You never know the intentions of the grabber. Why would you grab a public water reservoir and send away all the Nairobi water workers? You must have ill intentions,” Muhoro said.

Sonko also added Mr Bhandari lost in high court which is a superior court in case no. 151/2012 he filed against the government whose judgement was delivered on the 4th of April this year by Justice Weldon Korir, so the magistrate’s court has no jurisdiction to set aside a high court judgement.

“I am not an advocate but for the little period I have enjoined my self in the case i have noticed that Mr. Bhandari is abusing the court process. When he loses a case he conspires with the clerks to hide the court files and goes on to file a new case.” said an agitated Sonko while speaking to a local newspaper.

Mr. Bhandari is likely to face separate charges of demolishing structures belonging to Nairobi Water and Sewerage Company that he demolished on the plot before he grabbed it.

Notorious Land Grabbers gang up against SONKO, tries to assassinate him but SONKO outsmarts them

Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko survived what he termed as an attempt on his life on the night of Wednesday,December 30 on his way to Mombasa apparently to celebrate the new year.

Mike Sonko’s convoy was trailed for about five hours by unknown people who were driving in top-of- the-range cars all the way from Machakos to Nyali in Mombasa.

The controversial senator told Star newspaper that he has created many enemies including politicians and land grabbers in the course of his work and he cannot rule out the possibility of an intention to kill him.

His entourage was trailed by five people who were later arrested and are currently being held by police in Nyali.

The five were driving in a Range Rover Vogue and a Porsche Cayanne and are said to have made several stop-overs along the way.

According to Mike Sonko’s security team, they were even forced to shoot in the air to scare the five away but it did not work.

“Let police do their work. Several politicians including former MPs Mugabe Were (Embakasi), Tony Ndilinge (Kilome) and George Muchai (Kabete) lost their lives after being trailed,” said Sonko as quoted by the Star.

The  suspects vehicles as well as mobile phones have been confiscated by police to help in identifying the real motive.

Even then, Mike Sonko believes his philosophy of defending the rights of the oppressed in society could be the reason someone wants him killed.

Courageous: SENATOR MIKE SONKO rescues Lavington Primary School from Notorious Land Grabbers

Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko has come to the rescue of Lavington Primary School which had already lost 2 acres of it’s playing filed to a private developer.

The School’s head teacher Agnes Ndolo raised the red flag and wrote a panic letter to Sonko urging him to come to the rescue of the school’s 1,600 pupils who were on the risk of losing the playing field to the land grabber who is registered as KENSOM Holding.

The Senator who has declared total war against land grabbers in the city has already petitioned President Uhuru Kenyatta to ensure the National Land Commission issues a title deed to the school.

The head teacher has also raised fears over her life for exposing the land grabbing by the private developer who is allegedly planning to build an ultra modern shopping mall on the prime playing ground.

Ndolo wants Sonko to help in securing a title deed for the school and also help the school’s administration in fencing off the playing ground.

Lavington Primary School Management Committee Chairperson June Keriri had earlier stated that the Government must move quickly to protect the playing ground by issuing title-deeds to the school.

The private developer has allegedly secured a fake title deed of the playing ground in 2007 with assistance from the defunct City Council of Nairobi.

“I’ll get you before you get to me” – Sonko warns grabbers, gives them his number to call anytime they want him

Nairobi Senator Mike has issued a stern warning to his enemies who are allegedly planning to assassinate him before the 2017 elections.
This comes after 5 people who are believed to be assassins were arrested for trailing the flamboyant Senator’s convoy from Machakos to Nyali in Mombasa from 12:00am to 4:00am on Wednesday evening.
Speaking to a local daily Sonko vowed that he’ll not die due to political assassination but only through other calamities.
“ I am well armed at the moment after the Police boss Joseph Boinet returned my AK 47 guns. I am warning those who are thinking or plotting to assassinate me that they will meet the bullet first before they even think of killing me.” Said Sonko.
The Senator has also welcomed his supporters to request for selfies through his public mobile number 0722886600, but he has warned anyone trailing his convoy to txt him in advance.
Sonko’s security officers were forced to shoot in the air several times to scare away the five who were in two cars- a Porche cayenne and a Range Rover.
Police in Nyali say the five will be questioned to find out if they had any motive of killing the Senator who has declared war against land grabbers in the City.

Video: SONKO magically rescues 106-year old granny, evicted by a notorious land grabber in the leauge of Arap Singh

A 106-year-old centenarian who was forcefully evicted from her house in Pangani estate got a reprieve after a court restrained a private developer from taking possession of her property.

Ms Hannah Kasivi Nzomo has been spending nights in the cold after the bulldozer demolished her residence on December 23, estimated to be worth Sh20 million. The property dispute pits her against a tycoon, identified as Birre Hussein Mire, who has also claimed ownership of the property.

SONKO ENJOINED

In an urgent suit filed at the Milimani commercial courts, leading to the restraining orders granted, the Nairobi senator Mike Sonko has been enjoined in the case as an interested party.

According to Sonko, the developer falsely obtained a court order by suing nonexistent individuals and used the same against the granny.

Sonko has asked the court to punish Mr. Mire on grounds that he obtained a court order and subsequent police assistance to evict the granny by misleading a judge and without “full disclosure” of the details concerning ownership of the dispute property.

The said orders issued fraudulently and through misrepresentation have resulted in the 96-year-old being evicted from her property,” the senator’s suit papers read. In her affidavit, Ms Kasivi states that she is the registered owner of the suit property LR No36/VII?559 and has occupied it since 1974.

DESTITUTE

On December 23 the plaintiff invaded the suit premises using orders dated November 13 and December 15 claiming ownership of my property and thereby proceeded to demolish my only house where I live thus leaving me homeless and destitute,” the granny states. She states that she is stranger to Mr Mire and “have never sold nor parted with possession of the suit premises.”

“The plaintiff unlawfully gained orders of demolition and possession by claiming possession from persons unknown to me who neither reside at the premise nor are connected in any way to the suit property,” the affidavit states.

Sonko and Ms Kasivi have also challenged the jurisdiction of a magistrate’s court that granted the demolition order on grounds that the property in question is worth Sh 20 million and cannot be a subject of adjudication at a lower court.

COMPENSATION FOR DAMAGES

On Monday senior principal magistrate Mr Linus Kassan directed that the injunction be served to the police to ensure that no further excavation ifs done on the property pending the inter-parties hearing of the case on January 5, 2016. The grandma will also be seeking compensation for damages against the tycoon

“Ruto is a political broker, do not follow him blindly” – Retired President MOI warns Kalenjins

By AlPHONCE LIMO

They say that what an old man can see while seated, a young man cannot see while standing. Retired President Daniel Toroitich Arap Moi has seen something in Deputy President William Ruto that other Kalenjins are not seeing.

Moi has seen a political broker in Ruto. In a joint statement to the press on Monday, 30 the former President said KANU will not join the newly formed Jubilee Party because it believes in multi-party democracy.

He critisized Deputy President William Ruto for pushing the Kalenjin community to join the Jubilee Party by force.

Last week, Ruto held a private meeting with 5,200 leaders from the Rift Valley and begged them to support the formation of the Jubilee Party.

The meeting was attended by Governors, Senators, MPs, MCAs, former Councillors, women leaders and youth leaders.

Baba Moi said it is wrong for Ruto to dwell on politics and his presidential ambitions when Kenyans have serious problems in 2015.

“I am asking the Kalenjin community to tread carefully. They should not accept to be used by political brokers. As a community, we should negotiate with President Uhuru Kenyatta directly and not via brokers,” the leaders said in a statement.

“I’d rather die with Uhuru than Support Mudavadi” – Wamalwa vows to stick with Uhuru

Water Cabinet Secretary, Eugene Wamalwa, has disowned reports in the media that he will support Amani National Congress (ANC) Leader, Musalia Mudavadi, for President in 2017.

This is after reports emerged that the Water CS had indicated he will support Mudavadi’s Presidential bid instead of Uhuru Kenyatta’s.

Speaking yesterday, Wamalwa set the record straight by denying claims that he will support Mudavadi in 2017.

He noted that his heart belonged to President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy, William Ruto, who he is willing and ready to die for and will never support anyone else, including Mudavadi.

“In the past polls, I supported my brother Mudavadi and we made forays in Western region but my advice to him and other aspirants from Western is that they should concentrate on the 2022 polls,” stated Wamalwa.

Wamalwa had earlier indicated that he will support Mudavadi if he will emerge as the sole Presidential candidate from Western region.

“Take your stolen DIRTY millions elsewhere, WE DON’T NEED IT” – Church tells off Ruto

Deputy President William Ruto may soon be banned from donating his stolen money in church harambees if calls by Anglican Church of Kenya (ACK) Bishop, Eliud Wabukala, is anything to go by.

Wabukala urged churches to reject harambees from politicians as a way of reducing corruption and theft of public resources.

Wabukala noted that allowing politicians like William Ruto to donate money in church harambees promotes theft of public resources and corruption, and as such the church should not be used as a platform to encourage corruption.

“I have asked the churches in this country to stop harambees where politicians are asked to be the guests of honour… As we contribute towards stopping corruption, let us not allow our churches to be avenues for misuse by those who want political powers. Harambees should be not as if they are organized by politicians,” he said.

The ACK Bishop argued that the fundraising may push the political leaders to misuse public funds as it reaches a point that they cannot sustain the constant giving through their normal incomes.

Of all the politicians, Ruto has been criticized most for his generosity that see him give more than what he can afford to lose.

Nyagarama drives the last nail in his coffin, uses 500 cops to disrupt meeting of youth who rejected his Sh5m bribe

Nyamira Governor John Nyagarama signed his political epitaph on Sunday 27 when he sought services of 500 heavily armed policemen to disrupt the much awaited Nyamira Youth Summit.

The going got tough for the governor after his attempt to bribe summit organizers with sh5m hit a snag, forcing him to apply force on the unarmed youth.

Sources have revealed that the Governor expended close to sh10million to halt a summit that was organized by only sh100k. Initially, the governor had hoodwinked the youth that he was attending the summit, only to turn violent against them after his dirty advances were rejected.

Among the key agendas in the summit was to release an opinion poll on Nyagarama’s performance as governor and Nyamira County in general.

The Governor who is commonly known for renovating an hospital gate with a staggering sh7.8 million developed a negative premonition that the opinion poll could not augur well with him, especially with his ill health.

The governor resolved to summon the organizers among them award winning journalist Nyambega Gisesa to his home and offered them sh5million bribe to stop the summit upon which they turned down the offer.

Eight months ago, the chief organizer of the summit Nyambega Gisesa determinedly withdrew from all political activities,  to fight corruption and Impunity in Nyamira County.

Milimani law Courts Principal Magistrate D.W Mburu is on the spot

Milimani law Courts Principal Magistrate D.W Mburu is now on the spot after he allegedly received Ksh 3 million to protect a private developer who has grabbed the Loresho water reservoir.

Mburu has issued Shital Bhandari with a court order restraining the government from repossessing the land belonging to Nairobi Water and Sewerage company. According to sources the magistrate received the cash through a fixer known as Zachary Baraza of Siuma Auctioneers.

The Principal Magistrate has even disobeyed the executive order issued by President Uhuru Kenyatta who ordered National Land Commission Chairman Mohammed Swazuri to revoke the fake title deed in possession by the land grabber who hails from Pakistan.
The order maintains Bhandari owns the land and was building on it, and also stops all earlier orders seeking to evict him from the property.

ALL You NEED to KNOW about Raila, Mastermind Tobacco, BAT, KRA and desperate STATEHOUSE Operatives

By Dikembe via Facebook

Desperate to broaden ‘corruption’ that’s currently engulfing it, Jubilee has roped in Raila ODINGA, the usual bogeyman for official cover-up.

Itumbi is using a letter written by then PS in PM’s office Mr. Andrew Mondow to KRA to stop action on Mastermind. What Itumbi isn’t saying is why the Office of the Prime Minister got involved.

BACKGROUND
BAT (British American Tobacco), a cigarette manufacturer bribed KRA officials to enforce punitive tax actions on Mastermind, a LOCAL cigarette manufacturer so as to monopolize the Kenyan cigarette market. Mastermind, having no other office to turn to lodged its case with the Office of the Prime Minister.

The office of the Prime Minister then WROTE THE LETTER Itumbi is peddling on social media. This letter RESTRAINED KRA (then already bribed by BAT) to stop its punitive tax action on Mastermind.

The result (which Itumbi is not saying) is that Mastermind, with Raila’s intervention, survived.

RAILA THE BELIEVER IN LOCAL COMPANIES.
Now, unlike BAT, which keeps its profits in Europe and America, Mastermind is a local company.
The story of local companies in Kenya is a story of one incorruptible office stopping the overbearance of multinational companies from suffocating it out of business.

It is the story of Keroche Breweries whose wars with EABL also ended on PM Raila Odinga’s desk. Had Raila not intervened, Keroche would be dead. For this fact, Keroche has remained grateful to Mr. Odinga.

It is the story that pitted Tuskys and Naivas against Indians (Ukwala and Nakummat). It is the story of Equity Bank and its decade long battle to break the banking ceiling in Kenya, then held by colonial era European/American banks.

It is the story of every single start-up company with the potential to eat into a multinational company’s market share.
It’s flipside, that is, if there is no one to help such companies, they die. They get consumed by giant multinationals with connections to KRA or any corrupt regulatory body in Kenya. Safaricom remains a monopoly because of this.

Back to Mastermind. When you read the revelations (being exclusively published by business daily) nowhere in the bits and pieces does Mr. Hopkins (the whistleblower) indicate that he bribed Mr. Odinga, or Mr. Mondoh. This same man does however boldly indicate they bribed Martha Karua and Moses Wetangula (on behalf of BAT) to punish Mastermind.

In a sense, Raila Odinga stopped corruption. He stopped corrupt KRA officials from driving Mastermind out of business. He stopped PNU (now TNA/JP) cashcow (both Wetangula and Karua were high ranking PNU honchos).

Even more egregious, during this time, KRA commissioner for domestic tax was a Mr. John Njiraini. Well, the man got promoted!
Instead of Mr. Itumbi using his energies to push for removal of this Njiraini, now the KRA Commissioner-General, he is busy maligning the name of Mr. Andrew Mondoh and Mr. Raila Odinga.

The facts of the BAT scam (it is called BAT scam because it is BAT that was corrupting public officials to drive Mastermind out of market) is out there but the propaganda of it all is being peddled in here.
Friends, read this letter and tell me if you think Mr. Odinga didn’t act in good faith, or, in accordance with the law:

Dear High Profile ‘EUROBOND’ Man

By Dorcas Sarkozy

Dear High Profile Man:

Women like me do not cast down our golden crowns just because you have a name, position, prestige, influence, wealth, jet planes, luxury cars, can preach, prophesy, work miracles, and are gifted and anointed with good credit.

Strip yourself of all of that and if we saw your TRUTH, would we be impressed or would we digress?
Who are you, THE PERSON?

Been there, done that. ……Does not move women like me at all.
Women like me have Hearts deeper than the ocean floor.
That means we will give you access to an extent, but to have the HEART? You have to know how to sea dive and dig real deep to get it. Can you breathe under that kind of pressure?

TREASURE is not washed up on the shore, you gotta know how to dig deep.
Many can lay pipe, but few know how to really love.

You may feel like you can get anybody you want because of who you are, but some of us could care less about who you are in your position

Who are you in PERSON?

Want to impress women like me and get our attention?

Be HONEST. Have integrity. Be mature, and intentionally seek ONE wife…..not a fling or an occasional lover.

Have a beautiful heart to match the brilliance of your mind.
Know how you are built so that you can properly identify what you need vs what your carnal nature wants.

Yaani, some people are SO EVIL and HEARTLESS. So CRUEL…..

Yaani, some people are so evil and heartless. So cruel.

By Silas Gisiora Nyanchwani

You broke up with your girlfriend in July and she moved on, without crying or complaining. She never called back or texted to even know how you holding on. She just left and she is now a closed book. You have been stalking her Facebook every day, but the last time she posted was in early October where she complained about the fashion taste of Citizen TV’s weekend fashion show, with Carol Odero, Ian Mbugua and that other guy that for no reason whatsoever even sensible women fawn over.

Since that post, she has been tagged several photos, cat videos and what have you, but it looks like she has never opened the page for two months. No comment or like on what seems like funny pictures and videos.

In her WhatsApp, she has a custom notification and the time stamp is off. No suggestive message to tell her emotional state as some women often do. It is the “urgent calls only” notification that was updated in May last year.

So on a end month Saturday, three months later, you decide to get over her and hit the bar solo. Your mission is very clear: get a chips funga to help you deal with the emotional turmoil the woman left you in.

In the club, at around 1.57 a.m you spot a good candidate. She is in the company of three other girls, and another guy who seems happily harmless. She has the hips, the ASSets, and curves in the right places. Her breasts are on point, and you are sure it is not the beer that is fooling your eyes. Her weave is slightly off-putting, but she can’t have it all. And on a day like today, you can take her. You can take anything. You are not a selective beggar. You have no choice. They look old, at closer look; certainly they have been out of college for at least two to three years. If you would guess their age, it will be anything between 26-28. They don’t have the virginal and nubile excitement of girls in their 20s.

Guys are sweaty, from dancing to Jamaican ragga. Now some Nigerian nonsense is piping through the speakers. And you hit the dance floor, angling her and hoping to ensnare her. You are solo, well dressed in a designer jacket, you have worn the best cologne in the whole club, and you are drinking Heineken. You also on a designer watch. You looking the part. You feeling charming.

You dance your way to her backside and you click so well. You dance to three more songs and you offer to buy her a drink. So that her girls don’t mess up the night, you also buy them a bottle of Amarula. Since they are mature, or can afford the bottle, they are not excited. They act as if it is chewing gum you passed to them, really disgusting, ungrateful human beings. Who is their mother?
You dance and you talk talk with the subject of your affection.

She is acting like she is not feeling your vibe, but she is enjoying the dancing. She rubs her back on your crotch suggestively and you take the cue. You dance some more, doing all the dirty and sinful things that drunk people do in clubs after 2.a.m. Time is running out, and you risk ballooning EABL’s profits so you try to ask her out for the night. She tells you they are still partying until tomorrow, and about to go to another club with the girls.

But you can sure have a drink the following day or next weekend. She offers to give you her number. She types it into your phone: 07247825… Cate-1824…she does the rest of the job for you, cleverly assuming that you must have 13 other Cates about her age in your phone-book, the better to distinguish herself on the basis of where you met. Clever girl. Or she has been doing this since she turned 23, it is her second nature. You happy and you think, you can wait. She is actually worth waiting for. After al, it was a do or die. Who knows, she may be your new girlfriend.

You take a cab at 4.03 a.m and go home. Once home, you try to call her telling her that you arrived safely, only to discover, she gave a number that is one digit less. You cry how your Sh 3450 has gone down the urinal drain…but you comfort yourself that you will live to see another day. You sleep in the cold bed, it is colder especially tonight. You wonder when you are going to start dating again. Getting over your ex, has proved problematic. Contrary to the common assumption, you can be a handsome man with money, live in nice, well-furnished apartment and still lack a good woman worth sharing your life with.

On Saturday 10.07 a.m, you wake up, so pressed and you step into the loo for your ones and twos. You come back to bed but you have this annoying headache, a slight hangover. You decide it is sissy to take a panadol. Real men quash the headache with cold water. What you need is food therapy. You have not had a proper food the whole week, you have survived on junk. So today, you decide to treat yourself.

With your shorts on, you wear a sports jacket and step out to go and look for proper food. In your way to your Mama Mboga (or as Ruaraka females call her-groceries’ lady), you will see stupid bachelors wiping clean the rims of their car, as if that is where the missing Eurobond money is hidden. You will meet young women in hot-pants, red-eyed, wild-haired coming from the chemist with pain killers (and that other pill they take in most weekend mornings), but you are not judging. You just hate how they don the football jerseys of their boyfriends. And it is Man U fans who have this vexing habits of forcing their girlfriends to wear the silly Man U t-sho. Those insecure pricks. Nkt.

You get to your Mama Mboga and she has just arrived from Marigiti. Everything she is unpacking looks so green, so succulent, it is like it was picked in the Garden of Eden. She has a soft spot for you and she offers that genuine, motherly smile to you. She is just about the only sunshine in your life now. Must have been a pretty little thing.

“Mathe leo kuna nini hapa nzuri? you ask her.

“Iko ndizi, ukipata supu yake, ni mzuri sana,” she tells you in a humble, Kikuyu accent.

Such a sweet soul. Such dedication. Does she know what the Eurobond is, you wonder.

In deed the bananas are super. They are the real deal. Most certainly picked from Kisii, because good bananas are only in Kisii and Uganda. Zimekomaa (I don’t know the English word for ‘kukomaa’.) Or should I say, they are mature. So you settle for the bananas, which she offers to peel for you. 6 of them for Sh 40. In the meantime, you grab a cold Fanta, to ease the headache.

Once she is done, you head to your local butcher, Maina, a man who looks like he was born to be a butcher. He has a certain dexterity when shredding the meat that only he can pull off. You order for a ka-quarter, taunting him,
“Hey, na sina paka, na mbwa alikufa, tafadhali mifupa leo sitaki.” He laughs. But he puts some good bone with marrow in the quarter that is almost half the weight. Stupid butcher.

As you exit, you bump into these guy you know in the estate, you don’t even know his name, but he is a Man U fan that you normally watch the matches together in the kalocal. He is annoying as all Man U fans are. So you engage in some stupid banter, and so shamelessly, like all Man U fans, he does not mind, Mourinho taking over after LvG. But you don’t care about Man U or football. You just want your banana and beef soup. You finish with him and walk to your apartment along the way you will meet more bachelors outside their flats’ gate reading Saturday Nation, probably David Ndii and feeling bright. Or Njoki Chege and feeling like you don’t know what.

You get to your house and you have to make the important decision of picking the sound track to your cooking. You want to pick on your favourite benga tune, but there is a beautiful neighbour girl, you don’t want her to get the wrong impression of who you are. So since this day means freedom, you opt for reggae, good old-school reggae. Freedom songs. Bob Marley. Lucky Dube. Burning Spear. Dennis Brown. Mighty Culture. And while at it, some deep, I-Jah-Man-Levi.

Then you settle to the kitchen and you want to prepare the matoke using a recipe that has been used in your family in the last three generations; boil the peeled banana until it is almost ready, fry the tomatoes and onions until they are well cooked (cue: you an’t spot a tomato peel), pour water mixed with spices and allow to boil and mix with the bananas, let them cook until they are well mixed. Taste to feel the magic of Knorr beef cubes. You do the same for the beef.

You are wearing your vest, shorts and you are feeling like all Kenyans felt on the morning of December 13, 1963: Free and liberated. The cooking has been cathartic, even spiritual. As the beef is in the last 10 minutes of absorbing the spices, you are whistling all the freedom songs that used to be played during national holidays when Moi was in power. This is the best day of your life. You are going to eat matoke and beef stew prepared painstakingly by you and for you. At this moment, even as the darkest cloud of your ex-girlfriend hover around, it is you and your meal of the year.

You jump around the house, exorcising any culinary host that might kill your appetite.
Three minutes before you take the beef off the gas cooker, your phone rings. It is your boy Dennis.
“Aah, naje fala. Niko hizi mitaa zako, nasaka nyumba, napitia kwako saa hii,” and he hangs up without even giving you a second to say anything. And sure, 4 and half minutes later he shows up in the house and Dennis is the type of friend who has access to everything in your house…

“Nini hii umepika, inanukia vipoa?” he asks, already plunging his dirty fingers in the sufuria with matoke. He cuts one half of one of the only six bananas you bought and he is helping himself with it as he is looking for a serving spoon with which he scoops 3 pieces of beef.

You want to cry at his cruelty. And he is like,
“Na nyii wakisii enyewe ndizi mnajua kuunda…kali sana…” now he is back to the sitting room, he is talking nonstop. Bunny Wailer is appropriately singing in the background,
“What a boderation…”

The he proceeds to interrupt the music and tunes your TV to Supersport as he violates your private space and you can’t punch him on the face. When the food is ready, you have to divide it into two, and give him a larger share since he is a visitor. And since you are Kisii, he assumes that you eat and sleep bananas, so really, the banana stew should be for him.

He proceeds to eat like he has done nothing wrong. Finishes and then asks you to join him hunting for a house.

You contemplate suicide. You contemplate killing him. You really hate him. But you join him nonetheless. You promise yourself, next time you prepare such a meal, it has to be around 1.27 a.m.
No more heartbreaks. No more drama.

HOW STATEHOUSE move to SOIL Raila name on KRA and BAT Bribery BACKFIRED

It is now widely believed that President Kenyatta’s London based global PR consultant Tony Blair might be behind a series of publications in British newspaper The Independent touching on how the British American Tobacco Company (BAT) bribed KRA and top government officials to kill local competition (Mastermind Tobacco owned by a Meru businessman) and also influence legislation to guard its interests (tobacco industry)

Among the many allegations are those touching on key opposition leaders Moses Wetangula and Martha Karua for receiving bribes from the global tobacco giant British American Tobacco (BAT) to influence or frustrate legislation that could have had impact in the company’s operations and sales volumes in Kenya.

Top statehouse operatives are said to have influenced the publication of a series of articles relating to BAT bribery claims and even managed to secure screaming titles in the Nation Media and Star newspapers linking Prime Minister Raila Odinga to saga.

The desperate attempt by Statehouse and specifically Dennis Itumbi and the 36 state bloggers saw them publish agoverment official letter from the then acting permanent secretary Andrew Mondoh to Kenya Revenue Authority requesting an arbitration between Mastermind Tobacco a local franchise owned by a Meru based business, KRA and Finance/Treasury officials (Uhuru was minister for Finance)

KRA officials had received bribes from British American Tobacco (BAT) in order to frustrate the local/Kenyan Mastermind tobacco company. The letter is very clear of what the intention of the meeting was between Prime Minister’s office (specifically Deputy PM and minister for Finance-Treasury), KRA and Mastermind Tobacco.

After Itumbi shared the letter here are some of the harsh feedback he got, Kenyans are no fools anyomore, they can read and understand basic English>>>

Bobby Bobants: The meeting was held between KRA, Mastermind and Uhuru Kenyatta who was the Finance minister and the head of Treasury by then.
How much did Uhuru pay Tony Blair to come up with such tasteless propaganda?

Philip Etale: I find nothing wrong with the letter for it calls for tripartite talks. Jubilee government is desperate to shift attention from corruption that has engulfed it. Honestly IGNORANCE HAS NO DEFENCE

Allan Muthiga: I am not happy by the way Itumbi is taking advantage of some people’s ignorance (or his own inability to understand things quickly). Business daily misled us with a screaming headline, but we understand why. Now we have here the President’s mouth piece who advertently advertises his cheap mind to the public. Your responsibility should be to focus on making Kenya better, not engaging in diversionary tactics

Eric Arap Koskei: hehehe you never cease to amaze. why can’t you focus on actions rather than useless talk? do you know that you guys are in power and are answerable to the citizens? discrediting Raila is NOT part of the job description we the Kenyan people gave you. fanya kazi, pang’ang’a baadaye

Kevin S Okello: Little education is very dangerous .So this idiot here did not know that his boss Uhuru Kenyatta was the minister of finance and head of the treasury during this period . Dennis Itumbi A

Sp Omanga :>> Dennis Itumbi, tell us, is BAT a government body to direct KRA to action against a Kenyan competitor? How gave BAT the investigative authority? How much did the finance minister and KRA then receive to to institute a move against Mastermind?
And finally, give us something on Europound.

Some people are so thick and confused of facts.

Mukuru Wa Kimeruu Machumaa: KRA can only be paid the tax due ,anything else extra is illegal and aggrieved parties have rights to seek help from the government and that is what mastermind did then ,How did BAT got hold of the information ? not from KRA corrupt officials ?you have forgotten to tell Kenyans that BAT was using KRA officials to undermine master mind by billing it with no existent taxes ,so the letter by Hon Raila then PM was valid and within the law

Justus Atuti: Dennis Itumbi, tell us about the eurobond. I know English is hard for you to read and understand. You can use kikuyu.

Ken Ambula: ” Put on hold the enforcement action you had instituted against Mastermind Tobacco Kenya Limited, in order to facilitate review of the matter…..”

How does that amount to denying KRA revenue? That’s an official communication and not political intrigues. ..remember then, RAO was the supervisor of government functions. I believe the meeting was to set up some payment plan of sorts. From the letter, the meeting was scheduled between to organizations I.e KRA and Mastermind Tobacco at KRA’s premises. Whatever you are trying to spin won’t wash…In short, Jubilee is in power. Institute legal proceedings against RAO. Just thinking aloud, are you really a student of LAW?
In reality, RAO was trying to shield Mastermind Tobacco from being brought to its knees by the corrupt KRA officials. We know the same twisted and evil players have been working tooth and nail to bring Keroche breweries down. That aside, I am interested to see how RAO benefited directly from any corrupt deals. You know in your heart of hearts that you are lying just to divert people’s attention from the EUROBOND saga..

Peter Mwenda: Dennis Itumbi I sometimes pity your reasoning.Raila kila SAA na husemi chochote. pesa ya Eurobond ilitumika wapi?

Joab Mehta :This Dennis Itumbi guy is so empty. He’s young enough to put logic into issues, but what u get from him is just bones. Even JJ Kamotho was a better propagandist under Moi…

James Wachai “The BBC investigation has on tape various actors on the employ of BAT admitting that they paid KRA managers “a shed load of money” to make tax demands, presumably against a local competitor. This, for me, is the worst claim of corruption there is. It stands to reason that if you can use KRA to shake down your opponents, you can use it to avoid tax

James Wachai: Dennis Itumbi – BAT gave dirty money to KRA officials so that they could make illegal tax demands to Mastermind, an indigenous company fully owned by a Kenyan. The goal of the scheme was to incapacitate Mastermind. In a situation like this which side, as a patriotic Kenyan, would you stand?

Bill Onyango: Denis itumbi, kisungu ndio ngumu Ama?,can u get the facts about the letter?,”you requested to put on hold “,what do u understand about that statement?,”meeting to discuse the issue is scheduled at treasury between KRA ,Treasury,Masyermind”,my question is what do u understand in that statement?

Simon Kamau: Dennis Itumbi Re-read the wording ” Put on hold the enforcement action you had instituted against Mastermind Tobacco Kenya Limited, in order to facilitate review of the matter…..”

How does that amount to denying KRA revenue? That’s an official communication Mr Dennis
You are just embarrassing your Govt and yourself am sure if you bosses happen to see such post will send you home
BAT had bribed KRA officials to demand bogus taxes from Mastermind. Paul, the whistle blower, has already said this. But besides that how would Raila Amollo was benefitting?
He was protecting the local company against corrupt multinational BAT
Again why are you not posting names of MPs who were frequently taken to trips in msa by BAT to bring down masterminds Co.ltd. And are you able to authenticate the letter ? Supost samebody said there was no communication btwn treasury and Agwambo si utabakia kwa mataa. Dennis no any amounts of fishing letters will make kenyans forget Eurobond

Nahashon Mutea: After BAT bribed everybody they were now using the kra to try and destroy indigenous competition using exagerated tax claims same way monopoly breweries destroyed thika based castle beer. We thank the former pm for timely intervention. Itumbi shame on you. Don’t waste time digging into decades old archives. We are interested in the present and future! Kinoti Kiriamiti you may enlighten us on this?

Mutuma Kibang’a: Onslaught on Kenyan legitimate entrepreneurs continues. Give up a share of business or we unleash the KRA DOG. Ask Tabitha Karanja of Keroche, Nakumatt and now Mastermind. Let people be. RAO was right here.

Moha Mutinda Malonza: The Deputy PM, the current president,to whom KRA and its Commissioners are answerable to, was thus unable to establish and ensure the independence of the KRA if any of the above ever happened. This is the same thing he’s unable to do even to date as President.

Kituku Mumo Is there a page 2 where the PM actually directs KRA to completely stop the exercise of tax collection? Where are the contents of the PM’s phone call? Who was at treasury then? Where was the country’s CEO when all this was allegedly happening?

FOLLOW the CONVERSATION on Dennis Itumbi’s wall, see how he was roasted by his own stronghold Mt Kenya supporters>>>

For the record the Former PM actually directly intervened to stop action on Mastermind. He made a call to KRA boss to deny Kenya revenue.#TheFactsKE

STATEHOUSE Propaganda on Raila, BAT and KRA meant to DIVERT ATTENTION from EUROBOND

By Anwar Sadat

For the last two days, the Jubilee administration in their effort to distract the public as regards to how Kshs 190 billions Eurobond money was used, have published a series of propaganda materials intended to Potray Rt Hon Odinga as corrupt.

Dennis Itumbi went as far as accusing Mr. Odinga of economic sabotage by claiming that Mr Odinga acted to influence KRA by seeking to have KRA agree with Mastermind Tobacco on how to pay tax arrears so that the company doesnt collapse leading to loss of jobs (N/B Mastermind Tobacco a local franchise owned by a businessman from Meru was being harrased by KRA under influence of BAT Tobacco a foreign company to kill its operations) . As a Kenyan, I take Mr. Odinga at his words, that “yeye ni mweupe kama pamba on issues corruption.” I am however obligated to point out the hypocrisy of Jubilee’s argument.

1) First, Mr Itumbi and the government have conveniently ignored sections of the “BAT corruption allegations dossier ” that clearly explains how KRA is an agency for hire, used by international conglomerates and business rivals in economic espionage against their competitors.

Any Kenyan leader concerned about the wellbeing of Kenyan industries must be ready to defend them again unethical business practices perpetrated by their rivals who can easily use corruption to exert undue pressure against them.

2) The Jubilee narrative confirms their economic belief that Kenyans have had the opportunity to experience since they took control of government. The main issue at the center of their latest propaganda is not about economic sabotage but pure witch hunt. The greatest economic saboteurs and tax evaders are in Jubilee.

KQ is in ICU because some people bought shares in Air-China, Jubilee killed Telecom because some people have shares in Safaricom, jubilee killed the sugar industry because some people are importing sugar from Brazil, jubilee begun the famous fight of 2nd generation liquor because the owner of Keroche is supposedly supporting Raila, the jubilee have contracted Tony Blair’s PR firm because they don’t believe in the brand Kenya.

They are busy killing Juakali sector with everything imported from China. Since Jubilee seem to have details and documents from KRA, can they also publish how much tax have been paid by companies associated with President Kenyatta , Ruto, their families and associates since 2013!!

The greatest economic sabotage against Kenyans is spending their Kshs. 190 billions without accounting for it. Two weeks are over YET Treasury cannot produce the list of projects funded by Eurobond, CS Henry Rotich has confirmed he has NO CLUE what projects were funded by EUROBOND.

There is NO HONOUR AMONG THIEVES, Eurobond, NYS, Devolution Ministry ‘Sex Toys’

THERE IS NO HONOUR AMONG THIEVES!

By Joseph Githu via Facebook

When the Eurobond and NYS thieves were on the run the story was different,
Many graphs, pie charts and economic growth in some people’s pockets nonsense was published by the convener of ‪#‎36bloggers‬!

The key members of ‪#‎teampilau‬ bought japanese cars, ‪#‎teammursik‬ bought german and premier British vehicles, ‪#‎teammafisi‬ lost girlfriends due to the hard economic times, while ‪#‎thirdforce‬ presented a petition to the President of the Republic of Kenya!

The politicaly correct individuals took banking a notch higher by secretly introducing ‪#‎pillowbanking‬, while homes worth millions of shillings were bought cash!….surely the economy was doing exemplary well!

Sex toys and condoms became vote head items and self proclaimed billionaires started showing up in Kenya and on TV shows!

Toyota vx v8 became a common car on kenyan roads while the government would barely meet its monthly obligation!
Fast forward!!!!!

When the NYS and eurobond thieves were finally cornered,
The vx vehicles vanished from the roads!

The bar graphs and pie charts were nowhere to be found and dilligently replaced by a pastors moment!

The open desk at the treasury detailing the infrastructure projects undertaken by the bond and the open door at the cabinet secretaries office was replaced with river road summons for Raila odinga to go to a police station!

Threats were thrown all over, but Raila refused to cow down!

Finally!

Rotich started the chorus!, it’s baffling beyond crazy how one can spend 196 billion and has absolutely nothing to show for it!……but rotich has owned up, “we cannot show any infrastructure project that 196 billion shillings was utilised for!”

Never mind we can all see what 27 billion did on thika super highway! …..kenyans are expected to accept and move on and say “Raila will never be the president of kenya”

But of course a poor kikuyu like me should not criticise this goverment because it’s ours, ours my foot!
Today with all the honors of an elder I salute the right honourable Raila Odinga!

Merry Christmas everyone and know that we will start paying for the bond at 9 billion per month from next month!……you, your children and your grand children!…… may the born baby JESUS change our economic situation!

WHAT Raila supporters SHOULD DO to S.K Macharia now that has CONFESSED to be ‘HYPOCRITE’

By Michael Okoth

My prayers are that the honest revelations by S.K Macharia that he regrets supporting Raila Odinga in the 2013 elections may somehow provoke the ever restless Luo spirit as it always happens whenever Odinga is rubbed the wrong way by anyone, and awaken them to the urgent need to unshackle themselves from these chains by external capitalists like S.K Macharia who owns the biggest and most popular “Luo Media House” in the Luo Nation, and start thinking about their own internal investment capacities.

S.K Macharia chained us through a popular and national(national in the sense of outreach)vernacular radio station that an overwhelming majority of the rural Luo folks strongly believe is theirs and owned by them.

S.K Macharia is set to tighten his chains even further by giving the Luos “their own” vernacular TV Station in the coming month. The Luo Nation has been waiting for this with abated breaths.

My prayers are that my people may now find from this latest provocation the need to sit down and come up with a Media House of their own by their own for their own.I’m saying this well aware that my prayers are quite futile and my dreams very hollow and unreasonable.
Thank you!

HOW to SAVE Burundi and any other African Country

How to Save an African Country

• In 1979, Uganda would have been saved if Field Marshal Idi Amin. were willing to relinquish or share political power.
• In 1990, Liberia would have been saved if General Samuel Doe were willing to relinquish or share political power..
• In 1991, Mali would have been saved if General Moussa Traore, were willing to relinquish or share political power.
• In 1991, Ethiopia would have been saved if Col. Mengistu Haile Mariam were willing to relinquish or share political power.
• In 1991, Somalia would have been saved if General Siad Barre were willing to relinquish or share political power.
• In 1993, the Central African Republic would have been saved if General Andre Kolingba were willing to relinquish or share political power.
• In 1994, Rwanda would have been saved if General Juvenal Habryimana were willing to relinquish or share political power
• In 1993, Burundi would have been saved if General Pierre Buyoya were willing to relinquish or share political power.
• In 1996, Zaire (now Congo DR) would have been saved if General Mobutu Sese Seko had been willing to relinquish or share political power.
• In 1997, Sierra Leone would have been saved if General Joseph Momoh had been willing to relinquish or share political power.
• In 1999, Niger would have been saved if General Ibrahim Barre Mainassara were willing to relinquish or share political power.
• In 2000, Ivory Coast would have been saved if General Robert Guie had been willing to relinquish or share political power.
• In 2005, Togo would have been saved if General Gnassingbe Eyadema were willing to relinquish or share political power.
• In 2010, Tunisia would have been saved if former army officer, Ben Ali.were willing to relinquish or share political power.
• In 2011, Egypt would have been saved if former army officer, Hosni Mubarak, had been willing to relinquish or share political power.
• In 2011, Libya would have been saved if Colonel Muamar Khaddafi had been willing to relinquish or share political power.
• In 2012, Mali would have been saved if General Amadou Sanogo were willing to relinquish or share political power.
• In 2012, Guinea-Bissau would have been saved if General Mamadu Kuruma .were willing to relinquish or share political power

Note the frequency of the title “Genera.” or military titles. “Every military regime is a fraud. Anybody who heads a military regime subverts the wishes of the people” – said General I.B. Babangida (rtd), former head of state of Nigeria (The African Observer, Jan 18-31, 1999; p.6). He should know; he stole $9 billion.

How complicated is it to save an African country? How many of the current African heads of state are willing to relinquish or share political power? Kagame? Kabila? Museven i? Dos Santos? Nkurunziza, etc?

Hardened coconuts are stone deaf and impervious to reason. You would think that after all the destruction in postcolonial Africa, they had learned something

African lacks statesmen; just teeming with selfish buffoons who put their selfish interests above all others. They would destroyed their countries in order to stay in power.

Lunacy is defined as doing the same foolish thing again and again and expecting the same stupid results

HOW RESURGENT Raila UNMASKED William Ruto on Citizen TV interview with Hussein Mohammed

RAILA THROWS THE GAUNTLET

By Jackson Omondi

Enough. That was the import of “The RAO interview.” RAO is fed up with Ruto’s political bickering. For close to three years, Raila Odinga has been on the receiving end of Ruto’s constant attacks. Appearing on a special interview with Citizen TV’s Hussein Mohammed, RAO got a perfect cue to unload on the Deputy President and went straight for the jugular!

And yes, he went ‘there’. For the first time ever, Ruto’s land grabbing lawsuit in which he was ordered to shell out five million shillings was being talked about on national TV. To drive his point home, RAO emphasized that the plaintiff in that case was actually Ruto’s neighbor!

RAO was just getting warmed up. The lang’ata school playground also got a prime time slot. But the most devastating salvo came in the form of a narrative. Without mentioning YK92 brigade by names, he talked about a man who came out of college, never had a payslip en route to parliament and then started amassing wealth. He further questioned the source of sudden wealth that the DP routinely brandishes around the country in harambees.

One thing is clear: Raila is fed up with the politics of ‘abunuasi and yule Jamaa wa whatever.’ His choice of words indicate that he will not take Ruto’s belligerent utterances lying down. Ruto had his turn and now RAO is holding court.

Thanks to Raila’s solid presentation, Ruto will now have to yell his way out of real cases that now lay squarely in the public domain. In a span of five minutes, RAO managed to crown Ruto a ‘hypocrite’ whose behavior is a national embarrassment and exhibit ‘A’ that the Jubilee adminstration is rich in corruption. For a man so bored and too idle due to lack of tangible portfolio and has resorted to yelling and shouting himself hoarse to get recognition, it will be interesting to see how he responds to this political indictment.

QUESTION: Where was this RAO in late 2012 to early 2013? I like this RAO better.

HERE is Martha Karua STATEMENT that is causing PANIC among STATEHOUSE Operatives

It now emerges that the so called BAT bribery saga may be touching on top statehouse officials who were involved in Jubilee presidential campaigns.

Hon Martha Karua’s calls for Serious Fraud unit to investigate all presidential campaigns has caused panic among top Uhuruto handlers who may have been bribed (received campaign funding of more than 20 million). The NARC Kenya leader confirmed she received only 2million, saying since she was under-dog in the 2012/13 campaigns its highly likely that TNA and URP may have received super packs (more than 50million) from BAT considering the respective party leaders held influence in the Kibaki regime.

Here is Karua’s statement>

Nairobi – Monday 21st December 2015

As a leader I believe I have an obligation and duty to respond to and provide clarity to the public on questions raised by the reports on The Independent. I wish to respond to the allegations on Mr. Paul Hopkins’ contributions to my campaign on behalf of the BAT.

Our campaign received numerous individual donations, the vast majority from ordinary Kenyans. We also received some sizable donations from individual contributors. As I indicated to The Independent before their publication, Mr. Paul Hopkins gave a donation of KShs. 2 million to my campaign. As we did with all donors whenever it was possible, I met and thanked him personally.

The story appearing on The Independent is the first I have heard of a total contribution of KShs. 7.5 million or anything else. Our campaign was anchored on a strong anti-corruption agenda. Subsequently, we had a clean money policy.

As already mentioned, I understood the KShs. 2 million to be a personal, not a corporate donation. I have never in my tenure as public servant offered or even entertained discussions about influencing any government contracts and or procurement.

Let it be known that at no time in my public career have I had responsibility over the KRA. I did not and do not have any access to information on KRA’s contracts, software or otherwise. The story in The Independent is the first I heard of the KRA documents and contracts and BAT interest in software procurement.

I have never, and would never discuss or provide any information regarding KRA or any government contracts to Paul Hopkins or anyone else.
Beyond the issues surrounding the ‘missing’ KShs. 5.5 million and anything else allegedly donated by Mr. Hopkins to our campaign, we need to know, the story in The Independent raises valid questions that should interest us all as Kenyans and anti-corruption champions:

1. It is evident that BAT was an active campaign contributor. What is the full extent of the reach and depth of BAT’s illegal conduct during the 2013 general elections? To which other parties or persons did BAT donate?
2. What software did the KRA eventually procure, from which provider and was the process above board and consistent with the public procurement laws of Kenya?

3. In view of clear evidence of illegal activity in Kenya by BAT, are Kenyan regulators and authorities investigating BAT activities in Kenya?

In the absence of concurrent investigations by Kenyan authorities on this matter, we request the Serious Fraud Office to disclose the campaign contributions to all Kenyan politicians and Presidential campaigns by BAT in the run-up to the last elections.

We welcome swift and thorough investigations by both the Serious Fraud Office and Kenyan authorities into BAT’s illegal activities in Kenya. We will cooperate fully with all investigations on this matter both locally and abroad.

Conclusion
Finally, as conscious Kenyans aware of the burden of corruption and our role in fighting it, we must reject an emerging narrative by the Jubilee administration that we are all corrupt. The silent majority of Kenyans are not corrupt.

My commitment to fight corruption transcends short term political correctness. I also know that I am not alone in this commitment to fight corruption and erode the power of impunity.
I was anti-corruption crusaders before it was cool.
May God bless Kenya

TREASURY CS Rotich CONFIRMS Raila was RIGHT, There are NO Projects Funded by EUROBOND, no trace of the CASH

By David Herbling for Nation

The National Treasury cannot show any infrastructure that consumed the Eurobond funds, Cabinet Secretary Henry Rotich said last Thursday, walking away from an earlier promise to lay bare details of the mega spending at the centre of political row with opposition leader Raila Odinga.

Mr Rotich told the Business Daily that the Sh196.9 billion net proceeds from the sovereign bond issue and tap sale were lumped together with other government revenue and disbursed to ministries, making it difficult to pinpoint specific projects.

“The ministries cannot differentiate whether the money they have received from the Exchequer came from VAT, income taxes, customs duties, excise taxes, domestic borrowing or the Eurobond,” Mr Rotich said in an interview, adding that the Treasury’s role is to disburse funds to the ministries according to their request and in line with the approved budgets.
Mr Rotich said line ministries were the custodians of their spending and are accountable to Parliament – effectively exonerating his department from responsibility over use of the Eurobond proceeds.

The Treasury’s about-turn came a fortnight after Mr Rotich issued a three-week ultimatum to all State departments to publish details of how they spent Eurobond proceeds wired to them in the fiscal year ended June 2015.

The minister’s failure to explain the use of the Eurobond funds is compounded by the fact that Kenya is due to make its first interest payment on the Eurobond amounting to Sh9 billion this month, and taxpayers are scheduled to fork out Sh16.4 billion to settle part of the principal amount by the end of current fiscal year in June 2016.

The information memorandum that the government issued ahead of its going to the international debt market to raise the $2.75 billion says the bond was to finance general budgetary spending and infrastructure projects such as expansion of airports, sea ports, roads, pipelines, and geothermal plants.

But all public communication on the borrowing referred to infrastructure financing as the sole reason for seeking debt financing from the international markets.

The Treasury did not show the Kenyan public the Information Memorandum before it sought debt financing from international markets.

Kenya in June 2014 floated a $2 billion sovereign bond on the Irish bourse and later in December went back for an additional $750 million in what is technically known as a tap sale.

Proceeds of the Eurobond were initially used to retire a costly $604.5 million syndicated loan Kenya had borrowed from commercial banks in 2012 to fund development projects.

A further $1.39 million went into settling the expenses relating to transaction, payment of advisory fees, bank charges and federal taxes.

This means that Kenya received $2.21 billion (Sh196.9 billion) as net proceeds of the Eurobond to finance mega public works.

The strange admission by the Treasury that it cannot identify projects financed by the sovereign note came in the middle of a heated public debate on the government’s spending of the Eurobond funds.

Kenya’s public prosecutor has ordered investigations into the handling and spending of the sovereign bond cash, in response to persistent claims by Mr Odinga that Sh140 billion Eurobond funds were ‘missing’.

Mr Odinga has also challenged the Jubilee government to table the list of grand projects it financed with the Eurobond money.

“We are not convinced that the government could have absorbed another Sh197 billion, and even if it were do so, we would question the wisdom of spending such a huge amount of money on ‘non-priority’ projects,” Mr Odinga said in a statement.

He pointed out that Kenyans can clearly see the Sh31 billion funds spent on the 50.4-kilometre eight-lane Thika Superhighway but have yet to be shown what the Sh197 billion built.

“We have asked the Treasury to provide a breakdown of the projects that this money was put into so that we can verify that they exist and that they are good value for money,” he added.

Kenya’s total public debt had ballooned by 50 per cent under President Uhuru Kenyatta to Sh2.84 trillion or 49.75 per cent of GDP by June this year compared to Sh1.89 trillion equivalent of 42 per cent of GDP in June 2013.

Mr Kenyatta’s insatiable appetite for debt has seen Kenya chalk up another $600 million (Sh60 billion) short-term syndicated loan in October to ease a government cash crunch in the face of mounting recurrent expenditure obligations, including payment of salaries, wages and allowances to public officials.

John Githongo, a former anti-graft czar, said failure by the government to account for the massive cash borrowed from the international markets would make the Eurobond Kenya’s “greatest heist” outshining other mega scams such as Goldenberg and Anglo-Leasing.

All ongoing infrastructure projects have been funded by separate debts that have only added weight to future debt servicing obligations.

The 495-kilometre Mombasa-Nairobi standard gauge rail line, under construction, is, for instance, being financed through a $2 billion commercial loan from the Chinese government while Japan has lent Kenya ¥26.7 billion to fund the building of a second terminal at the port of Mombasa expected to be completed by 2018.

KenGen’s $1.3 billion 280 MW geothermal project at Olkaria — Africa’s largest steam development — was funded by multilateral lenders, including the World Bank, Japan International Co-operation Agency, European Investment Bank, French Development Agency (AFD) and the German Reconstruction Bank (KfW).

Kenya Pipeline in July turned to commercial lenders for a $350 million syndicated loan to bankroll the construction of a new 450-kilometre Mombasa-Nairobi oil pipeline to replace the current one in use since 1978.

Israel has committed to finance a large portion of the ambitious Sh400 billion Galana-Kulalu one-million-acre irrigation scheme which has already harvested the first crop from a 10,000-hectare model farm.

Mr Kenyatta has announced that he’s seeking investors to fund the $18.1 billion Lamu Port—Southern Sudan—Ethiopia Transport (Lapsset) corridor project under a public-private partnership model.

A majority of UhuRuto’s infrastructure-focused election pledges are yet to take off, including the planned commuter light-rail in major towns, a new international airport at Isiolo, and five new national stadiums.

EMOTIONAL: Kenyan Muslims SHIELD Christians in Mandera bus ATTACK

A group of Kenyan Muslims travelling on a bus ambushed by Islamist gunmen protected Christian passengers by refusing to be split into groups, according to eyewitnesses.

They told the militants “to kill them together or leave them alone”, a local governor told Kenyan media.
At least two people were killed in the attack, near the north-eastern village of El Wak on the Somali border.

The Somali based al-Shabab group is the main suspect for the attack.

It has not said if it was responsible, but often carries out attacks in Kenya’s north-east.
The bus was travelling from the capital Nairobi to the town of Mandera.

When al-Shabab killed 148 people in an attack on Garissa University College in April, the militants reportedly singled out Christians and shot them, while freeing many Muslims.

“The locals showed a sense of patriotism and belonging to each other,” Mandera governor Ali Roba told Kenya’s private Daily Nation newspaper.

The militants decided to leave after the passengers’ show of unity, he added.

An employee of the Makkah bus company, who had spoken to the driver involved in the attack, confirmed to the BBC that Muslims had refused to be separated from their fellow Christian passengers.

One of the victims was shot dead after trying to run away from the militants after passengers had been forced off the bus, the same employee told the BBC’s Bashkas Jugsodaay in Nairobi.

Al-Shabab has been at war with Kenya ever since Kenyan forces entered Somalia in October 2011 in an effort to crush the militants.

Kenya’s north-eastern region has a large population of ethnic Somalis.

LAWYER Donald Kipkorir STRIPS NAKED the Nairobi Middle class who have ABANDONED their parents in the village

By Donald Kipkorir

Dear Nairobians … It is another December holiday. During this festive season, I want to invite you on a soul searching voyage. There is nothing to be proud of when you live in a big house in Nairobi and drive big cars and earn fat salaries and have big collection of clothes and shoes, when your parents are living in squalor or mud house or leaking semi permanent house.

It is immoral and corrupt when you drive home in December in big cars to semi permanent or houses without plumbing and electricity. You cannot be heard complaining that the Government has failed when you cannot even help your own parents live like you! If every Nairobian uplifted their village homes, Kenya will come close to realizing its dreams.

Ephesians 6:1-3 says: “Children, obey your parents in the Lord for this is right. Honor your father and mother – which is the first Commandment with a promise – so that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on earth.” ..

Therefore, God is clear …. You want long life? Honor your parents this season by building them a house like your house in Nairobi.

FINALLY Senator Mike Sonko gets Uhuru support to STOP private developer GRAB Loresho Public Land

NAIROBI Senator Mike Mbuvi Sonko is a happy man after his visit to State House helped to stop the grabbing of a prime water reservoir at Nairobi’s Loresho estate.

Senator Sonko had managed to obtain a court order stopping a private developer known as Shital Bhandari from developing the land belonging to the Nairobi Water and Sewerage Company which he allegedly grabbed with the help of powerful individuals at City Hall.

Sonko’s intervention at State House forced President Uhuru Kenyatta to order National Land Commission Chairman Muhammad Swazuri to revoke the title deed of the private developer who had managed to fence off the three-acre land which is registered as LR block 90/599.

In a circular, Uhuru also ordered Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet and anti-graft officials to visit the site and ensure no construction is ongoing. EACC, NLC, City Hall officials and Sonko are now expected at the site today to ensure the private developer from Pakistan is permanently evicted from the area.

On Thursday Sonko obtained court orders stopping Bhandari from annexing the land. Bhandari has also been blocked from building any structure on the land and he has been ordered out.

In another rejoinder Sonko has vowed to pursue other public utilities which were grabbed by powerful individuals. Talking to a daily newspaper the Senator claimed that the Karen sewerage treatment plant in Karen on Lr. No. 12037 has been grabbed by Davjon group ltd and also Lr. No 12979/1 in Dandora a public utility reserved by the former NCC for a sewerage treatment plant.

Meanwhile unconfirmed reports allege the private developer has terror links and he could have been plotting to grab the water reservoir that serves Gigiri, Spring Valley and Loresho residents and then later poison the water with chemicals to cause mass deaths of mostly expert, diplomatics and elite locals living in the area.

The New EACC COMMISSIONERS Led by Philip Kinisu offers higher EXPECTATIONS

By Eliud Owalo

I hope the Philip Kinisu-led team will turn-around the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission(EACC) into a professionally managed Anti-Corruption outfit that pursues it’s Mandate with precision,as opposed to the politically-manipulated Organ that Kenyans are accustomed to.

Kenyans want to see an Anti-Corruption entity that executes its Mandate without fear or favour, and without dancing to the whims of the political class. They neither want to see an entity that is constantly manipulated by politicians to settle scores with their opponents, nor to protect technocrats who have looted from public coffers for,on behalf of or at the instigation of the political class.

I have for many years known both Mr. Kinisu and Rose Mghoi as professionals of no mean repute.I however do not know much about the other commissioners, but I verily want to believe their credentials are commensurate with the task at hand.

My take is that they should anchor and be guided in their actions primarily by the Mandate and Core-Business of the EACC,the existing Legal Framework and their Job Descriptions.Their performance at any point in time will be evaluated by all genuine stakeholders on the basis of their conformity or otherwise to these integral parameters, but not on how much political clout or influence-peddling they shall have mastered.

I hope this new team will not allow their hard-earned reputation and integrity to go down the drain by becoming subservient to egocentric politicians whose primary interest is accumulation of ill-gotten wealth aided by colossal sums of tax-payers’ money that they siphon-out of public coffers with impunity.

The Window of Opportunity is open for Philip Kinisu and his team to restructure the EACC and Re-engineer its business processes to win back the confidence of the Kenyan public.

The same Window will however, not remain open for ever.

We are waiting to learn of your Agenda for the EACC,and how you will go about your business to realize the desired Vision.

Over to you.The ball is in your Court!
