News just in indicate that DP Ruto has postponed fundraiser event that was supposed to take place today at Gusii Stadium -Kisii County after local intelligence sources conformed that he will be met by a hostile crowd.
The besieged Kisii County Deputy Governor Joash Maangi was to host to the DP. The fundraiser cum political rally was in aid for boda boda riders.
The fundraiser was a follow up of the recent trip by the larger Gusii leaders to DP Ruto’s home in Sugoi Eldoret where they indicated they were ready and willing to work with Jubilee. The move did not go well with the residents who are largely Raila Odinga supporters.
The community has beef with Uhuru regime for among others the discrimination of 2007/08 Gusii IDPs who were not resettled or compensated like their Mt Kenya counterparts and the skewed appointments into the Jubilee regime. Non of the 46 principal secretaries is from Gusii community. The community however has one slot in the cabinet- Education CS Dr Matiangi
