It will be an awkward moment in Abdjan, Ivory Coast as DP William Ruto meets President Alassane Qattara, a personal friend of Prime Minister Raila Odinga at the Africa CEO forum at which governments and the private sector will discuss economic growth and poverty reduction.
President Quattara was recently re-elected with approval ratings of 80%, he assumed power four years after mediation efforts by PM Raila as the African Union envoy. DP Ruto’s match ex president Laurent Gbagbo (is jailed in the Hague as the hearing over genocide charges continue at the ICC
DP Ruto arrived in Cote d’Ivoire today Monday and was received Foreign Affairs minister Mabri Toikeusse, ahead of the forum that President Alassane Ouattara will officially open.
One wonders what DP Ruto will tell the forum with massive looting currently in Kenya that is championed by the ruling coalition.
