Wajir County Governor has sharply differed with President Uhuru’s handlers who demanded that the president should launch a fully completed tarmac road that was ‘opened’ by the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga on 15th August 2015.
President Uhuru’s handlers also wants the President to open KMTC built by the county government fundss. In a show of protest the Governor walked out of a meeting held at alocal hotel that was meant to get blessings of local leaders to allow the president ride on county government projects while on his tour of the region.
The Governor reiterated his desire and wish was to see the president deliver fresh new goodies from the National government to the people of Wajir and not just ride on already completed projects some of which the Nairobi government had frustrated.
“President should assure locals of security, better roads and guarantee that locals will not be targeted by security agencies in the pretext of war on terror. We the government to support local businesses especially livestock industry. Politics of sycophancy will not help our people” a local MP was heard complaining.
