AG Githu Muigai trick to FAIL Justice Maraga ABORTS as the Judge Offered Super ANSWERS Shaming Prof Githu

Appellate judge David Maraga on Wednesday put AG Muigai at an awkward position after he gave super answers to AG Githu Muigai’s ridiculous questions at the ongoing interviews for Chief Justice being conducted by the JSC.

The Kisumu-based judge was the third to be interviewed for the position of the next Chief Justice .

Attorney General Githu Muigai, one of the panelists, put Maraga to the test when he sought to know how he would pass judgements in suits where two or several laws are at conflict with each other.

He used a case study of a surrogate mother who decides not to forfeit ownership of a child to its separated biological parents and each is seeking custody.

“So, now you have a three way dispute. What law shall we turn to because in my view, there is none?” Muigai asked.

He added: “To seal these loopholes, shall we turn to the law of contract, the children’s Act or the Constitution to find the answer of who should have this baby,”

Maraga admitted that the question was tricky but gave a super answer leaving the panel smiling. “In this scenario, the child’s interest is paramount,” he said.

He stated that he would also consider whether or not the contract signed between the surrogate mother and the couple was legal; and whether it went against public policy or not.

Maraga’s understanding of the law was again tested when the AG painted a similarly delicate situation that required a decision that goes beyond the application of the law or the constitution.

Muigai sought to know what the judge would do in a scenario where a terminally ill patient writes a will that s/he be put off life support in the event that they are in a vegetative state; but his family disputes the decision on grounds that assisted suicide is illegal in Kenya.

“The Constitution states that life is sacred, and as you have stated, euthanasia is not legal in Kenya,” justice Maraga said.

Euthanasia is a legal term that refers to the painless killing of a patient suffering from an incurable and painful disease or one who is in an irreversible coma.

Muigai did not stop there. He put it across to Maraga to explain what parameters he would use as Chief Justice to qualify a dispute for adjudication “as not all disputes are ripe for adjudication”.

Maraga was also asked how he would decide political cases which cannot be resolved through judicial processes.

The AG also sought to know if justice Maraga agreed with the argument that the jurisdiction of the Supreme Court over a dispute can only stand if the bench is constituted of a minimum of five judges.

He responded by saying the court can pass substantial orders only if the bench is made up of the legally acceptable quorum.

“A single judge of the court can only at most give a procedural order like applications to appeal out of time,” said justice Maraga.

JAP Nairobi IMPLOSION Averted as Hon Sakaja CRAFTS Surprise TRIPARTITE Gubernatorial Alliance

By Arnold Karanja

JAP Nairobi Implosion averted as Sakaja crafts surprise tripartite gubernatorial alliance

Last week’s surprise announcement that Nominated MP Johnson Sakaja, Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko, and Dagoretti South MP Dennis Waweru have decided to work together have thrown sections JAP alliance Nairobi branch into panic

As it is, the Nairobi gubernatorial race is shaping up to what pundits say will be a politically mouth-watering contest as at least eight aspirants Jubilee aspirants have declared intent to attempt to wrest control from incumbent, CORD’s Evans Kidero.

Sources say the brains behind the unlikely alliance – which is code-named “Team Nairobi” – is Hon Sakaja Johnson who has persuaded his colleagues to stop fighting each other individual but forge an alliance that will see each emerge a winner in 2017. Sakaja, sources intimate, was motivated by the need to calm nerves in State House which was increasingly getting apprehensive about the effects of premature and aggressive campaigning in Nairobi.

Sakaja’s meteoric rise to national political prominence has not gone unnoticed. The youthful MP who is known to have the president’s ear has clearly impressed senior Jubilee functionaries through his diplomatic and non-tribal style that seen him gain popularity not just within Jubilee but also among conservative admirers in CORD led by ODM leader Raila Odinga.

Although Water CS Eugene Wamalwa has formed an unlikely alliance with Bishop Margaret Wanjiru with whom she has been touring the city in the last month, the shocking announcement that Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko, Nominated MP Johnson Sakaja and Dagoretti South MP Dennis Waweru have formed a faction within JAP and decided to get into a strategic working arrangement that has silenced the Kamanda group as it would not only render competitors within their coalition irrelevant, but also ensure Governor Kidero goes home on election day.

Sakaja’s style contrasts sharply with the abrasive style of DP William Ruto and Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria, both supporters of Eugene Wamalwa, which has made the president worried that he may lose support in Nairobi because of the duo. He is looking to build bridges that Ruto and Kuria have destroyed.

Sakaja reckons that his working relationship with Sonko and Waweru is informed by the need to keep Jubilee united and absolute necessity to have a candidate that appeals to majority of Nairobi residents. An internal poll commissioned by Jubilee reveals Sonko as the leading candidate closely followed by Sakaja with Waweru a distant third.

The result of this poll has sent Jubilee strategist back to the drawing board and it’s victim is likely to be Water CS Eugene Wamalwa who the poll says has absolutely no chance against any candidate that will be fronted by CORD supremo Raila Odinga.

HERE are HARD FACTS abot Robert Alai’s BOMBSHELL on Raila, 1st the Basics

By Gab Oguda via FB

After the chaff has settled, and the noise has died down, you will all refer to that Robert Alai post and wished, with the benefit of hindsight, that you could have taken it seriously. Any foot soldier running errands for, or on behalf of, Jakom must now stand back and sieve the reason from the emotion.

Let me tell you something.

Raila Odinga is a political typhoon. On his own, he is capable of sweeping away anything that stands on his way to the Presidency. In the village, whenever the dry season was about to usher in the long rains, we knew we should start building dykes when that sandy whirlwind was about to break every tree branch on its way to the lake. There’s a saying in the village that ‘Baba Pek Meli’. Those of us who had never seen a sailing cargo ship before could only replace Meli with the angry typhoon, ‘Apaka’.

The problem with the village typhoon was that you had a fighting chance to weather its devastation. The typhoon wasn’t that deadly if you knew how to manoeuvre your way around it. Legend has it that before a typhoon builds up to it’s devastating strength, if you have an open trough, you’d rush to the site of it’s source and cover the swirl before it grows heavy.

And if you find yourself unable to withstand the dirt particles coming at your cornea, the most plausible thing to do, at that helpless point, was to tightly clutch onto the nearest tree trunk and shake yourself with it, until the whirlwind snakes away to another point of destruction. If you survived a typhoon, we were told in the village, you could survive a running stomach, illiterate discussants, and hot porridge. The raging typhoon was the SI Unit of village survival.

Raila Odinga is still ‘heavy’. On a level playing field, none of the presidential contestants can touch him even with a six-foot pole. If elections were to be held today, without anyone tampering with the electoral process, from start to finish, Jakom would show these guys a clean pair of heels any given day. He is the Kenyan political tsunami, not even the current twins perching atop the Presidency can muster a response to his lethal clean sweep.
But why isn’t Raila Odinga winning?

This is a question everyone knows the answer to but refuse to be honest about. Over the years, those contesting against Jakom have found ways of disinfecting his political sting. They come to Jakom for valuable lessons then break ranks and apply the same with a slight hint of ruthlessness.

If Jakom was a footballer, he’d play in the fulcrum. The team would revolve around him, everyone will sing his name. But 21st century politics, especially in dark Africa, has no reward reserved for popular candidates. No one remembers the guy who dictated play, the one who supplied the killer through pass, the one who dug deep to drag the team out of the mud into the winner’s podium. Football has become so competitive that you are only rewarded for the goals you scored.

The World Player of the Year, since 2010, has revolved around two individuals – Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. Everyone agrees Andreas Iniesta or Xavi Hernandez (who won the World Cup with Spain) deserved it in 2010. But those two could only manage the 2nd & 3rd position. Same to Frank Ribery in 2013, and Manuel Nueur in 2014. No one cares who’s the candidate working up the crowds and driving the town crazy. If you cant win the elections, the ruthless way, you have no business contesting for political office. The end, in this country, will always justify the means.

What Robert Alai, and his ilk, are coming out strongly for is that you cannot do the same things over again and expect different results. Their tone might be condescending, their language unsavoury, their approach abrasive. But one common denominator remains, and this holds true for everyone working for Jakom, that if you continue approaching the 2017 elections as you did in 2007 – when we all went to sleep in our Christmas attire knowing Jakom would be sworn in the next day – and 2013 – when we were told CORD had a watertight petition and a platoon of highly-schooled counsels to overturn Uhuru Kenyatta’s win – then all we are doing here is no different from what we have previously undertaken to do. You don’t win election before you win elections.

I find no notable problems with Robert Alai and whoever espouses his line of political thought. Robert Alai is not an ODM employee, Raila Odinga has never signed a performance contract with him. I hold the considered opinion that anyone who thinks you are useful to their cause should find it within their heart to tie you down to a deliverable. The golden rule in business still holds true, that you should always put your money where your mouth is.

If Capitol Hill thinks Jim Bonnie or Robert Alai, or whoever have hitherto put their neck on the line for the party, are important towards the furtherance of Raila Odinga’s online presence, then Capitol Hill or Orange House should do the sensible thing and sign a contract with them. We live in a free world where freedom of political choice is an inalienable right.

If Dennis Itumbi, today, decided to cross over and join Team Jakom, I presume they’d welcome him with both hands. The same should apply to anyone who intends to change their political persuasion from time to time. William Ruto left ODM and is now in government. Kalonzo Musyoka broke ranks with Raila Odinga, ran away with the ODM-Kenya certificate, chose to side with Kibaki when Kenya was burning in 2008 and is now back to the fold with another outfit. I haven’t heard anyone telling Kalonzo Musyoka to go to hell, and not be around Jakom – for being a traitor back then. Same way we shouldn’t pillory Robert or Bonnie, or whoever chooses to shift either way.

Not many people are like me, or you. Not many people are sane enough to stand with a justifiable cause even if their backs are against the wall. And they shouldn’t be begrudged for it. Raila’s sister accepted an appointment to work for government, and I haven’t heard anyone crucifying her for signing a contract with Uhuru’s people. If ODM gave me a job today, I would want to believe it will be because I deserve the job and not because of being a party sycophant. If I were to be hired, by anyone, because they feel they’re doing a favour to me, and that there are better options out there, then my conscience will tell me to decline the job. I was raised to know my worth, and I would never settle for less.

Political parties are professional outfits and should be run like so. If anyone feels Robert Alai’s decamping to Jubilee means nothing towards the furtherance of their online presence, then why are you guys whining about it? I wouldn’t, even for a second, pick up a discussion with anyone I feel not worthy discussing anything with.

Robert Alai built his online image through blood, sweat and tears. His online accounts aren’t verified because he sat on the couch tossing popcorns waiting for the next scandal to talk about. Robert went out there, dirtied his fingers, rolled up his sleeves and became, for a long time, our most trusted source of harsh truths our mainstream media, and online commentators, shied away from touching. The brand did not build itself. If you hate Robert for everything he has said, at least be honest enough to appreciate his effort.

If you think Robert Alai is wrong, your job is to walk into Capitol Hill, or Orange House, and enlist for Raila Odinga’s online team. It is the only way you are going to make your noise count. Otherwise you’re just giving Capitol Hill a false sense of popularity which will immediately fizzle out the moment the presidential results start trickling in next year. Don’t let Alai say he was right and you were wrong. There’s nothing as painful as your opponent winning the argument online and on the ballot.
You know what to do. Time isn’t on your side.

February 11th 1963 at the Presidential Palace in Accra. Dr Kwame Nkrumah is done addressing his Cabinet. Just as he is about to put pen to paper to commission yet another of his grand projects, the Minister for Finance stands to speak, his verdict is damning:
“Sir, I am afraid we might not be able to proceed; not now at least when our foreign reserves stand at less than 500,000 pounds…”

Momentarily, an eerie silence engulfs the entire room before it suddenly erupts in animated murmurs, then silence again. Everyone is shocked, yet none as the great man himself. For several minutes, he ponders pensively and then collapses into a teary heap.

Yet how could he? How could Ghana? One time the most promising of tropical states, wasn’t it surprising that hardly six years on, saddled by huge debt, a food shortage that had spiralled out of control and the ever-rising taxes, that Africa’s virgin land now was on the brink of bankruptcy?

Leadership problem

Ghana’s biggest problem had been its leader and, judging from his reaction, he must have known this. A good man to start with, with grand yet genuine ambitions of transforming Ghana into an industrialised state, Nkrumah had recklessly stumbled from one project to another seemingly driven by personal instinct and the grand novelty of an idea rather than its economic viability. He had overlooked the interests of the simple man, the peasant, choosing instead to focus government resources of expensive undertakings such as the mechanising state farms.

Simple necessaries such as elementary schools or even a pharmaceutical plants to heal the burgeoning drug shortage were overlooked at the expense of factories, shipyards and steelworks that he personally sanctioned, not to mention a huge set of concrete silos that were rendered unusable on completion. Actually, they never popped up on his “to do” list but even when they did, he always preferred the option that cost ten times as much.

Anyone with a bribe and a big idea could foster partnership with Nkrumah (Ghana). Then, as yours truly is doing now, some protested but that didn’t deter him for simply, they were “enemies of progress”; neither did a looming cash crisis or anything else for that matter.

Indeed, when domestic coffers ran low, he simply turned to the East for a loan, not caring about the suspect commitments he let Ghana into as collateral (at one time he even lined up a state carrier complete with a fleet of jets to fly to destinations such as Cairo and Moscow for which there was no demand. These planes became the personal taxis of government officials at the expense of the taxpayer). Ghana become an import state – a problem only worsened by the inefficiency and corruption of the battalion of cronies he had handpicked from his CPP faction to oversee his developments. Naturally, his projects couldn’t stand and as, one by one, they collapsed, he followed them into the abyss of Ghana’s forgettable histories.

50 years later, in faraway Kenya, it is Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta’s turn – a laptop project against a teacher and classroom shortage; food insecurity against low maize, cane and coffee prices for peasant farmers; food insecurity and lax imports against an embarrassment of a project in the Tana Delta; immaculate highways against a tipping public and external debt balance; national unity in the Jubilee Alliance against a reward mechanism in incompetent tribal appointments, not to mention a National Assembly that has prostituted its oversight role on the altar of quick cash and party politics! Hardly does history repeat itself in such exact margins.

As we cheer on the sand castle he is building, we should remember that, while the Chinese are always at our beck and call with “cheap” yet easily accessible loans, their dictate is often that this money will be spent on Chinese labour and Chinese machinery. Over and above the normal monetary payments, our friends from the East have been known to insist on China-friendly policies and other market concessions as preconditions – even payments for their loans. Simply, China pushes us to take loans she knows we will never be able to pay before it fills our markets with cheap Chinese commodities, which, unless we pay back, we can never have the moral or legal authority to throw out. It is no wonder therefore there is Chinese fish in Kisumu, Chinese mitumba, gadgets, “naturalised” Chinese ajua experts in Nyanza and the rising movement of cons and randy highway constructors that we can never deport.

The truth behind China’s extensive generosity is simple…

‘Stick with Cord and Support Raila or you PERISH Politically’- Luyha Elders WARN Mudavadi, Wetangula

Luhya elders have said they will not support either Senator Moses Wetang’ula or ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi if the two do not join forces under Cord.

Members of the Luhya Elders Forum said the two should come together under Cord to increase their chances of clinching the presidency. Forum secretariat member and Maragoli elder Peter Ludava said they will only support a Luhya presidential candidate if he is in Cord. “We support Cord. If any of our brothers seeks and clinches the Cord ticket, he will have our full support,” he said. The elders said those who want to go it alone are spoilers out to reduce Cord’s chances in the next elections.

Ludava dismissed Mudavadi’s candidature, saying he is a spoiler and is giving Jubilee the upper hand, as he does not have the support of other communities. He said Mudavadi would have been the Deputy President now had he remained in ODM. “We asked Mudavadi to remain in ODM in 2013, but he refused. What he is doing now is simply spoiling for Cord,” Ludava said.

Tachoni elder Burudi Nabwera said any Luhya presidential candidate should not believe he will automatically get the support of the community and elders. He said they are keen to ensure the community gets to power but not through splitting votes. “Anyone who wants our support must be in Cord. Should Wetang’ula fail to get the party ticket and go it alone, he should forget about our support,” Nabwera said.

The elders said it is time the community got its economic and political priorities right and not be hoodwinked by a few empty promises.

Nairobi governor Hopeful ”The COOL Eugene” Wamalwa FAILS to RESPOND to Mike Sonko PROVOCATION

Since his foray into Nairobi politics, Eugene Wamalwa has caused political and emotional upheaval across the political spectrum. Dennis Waweru has become emotional and lost all sense of strategy. Johnson Sakaja has all but disappeared since the Luhya card he hoped to play now has a real owner. Mike Sonko has reacted to what he considers a direct breach of his territory by unleashing two weapons in his characteristic slum dog honcho style.

Sonko’s entire Nairobi strategy is right now built around discrediting, intimidating and coercing Eugene to leave the city or enter into a political compromise under Sonko’s terms. It is evident that Sonko is unhappy at the political partnership between Eugene Wamalwa and Margaret Wanjiru that has already hit the ground in the city.

Sonko has brought his entire machinery including reviving the defunct Sonko Rescue team he had disbanded in honor of advice from his late father and has built a small time gang of hooligans to threaten violence against Eugene.

Sonko Rescue Team Water Trucks

The moment Sonko confirmed Eugene’s candidature his desperation led him to a tactic that would undermine Eugene as Water Cabinet Secretary. Sonko immediately converted a petroleum truck into a water dispensing truck without the knowledge that water dispensers are made from different materials and require different specifications. It has been said that the trucks have been dispensing water that is possibly unfit for human consumption. For Sonko, as long as he can discredit Eugene’s work as water CS, he doesn’t care whatever happens to the people.

Sonko and the Hooligans

In the last weekend, Sonko has disrupted two events where CS Eugene Wamalwa has been chief guest just to show who is boss. In Dandora, Sonko planted an advance team that would create disorder, receive him and install him to speak the moment he arrived with a plan to speak down at Eugene once he had the microphone.

Eugene quietly left the stage leaving Sonko with no one but his hooligans and high school students to address. At city stadium this last Sunday, Sonko sent a group of hirelings to chant down the CS while he spoke. This time, they were easily silenced but nevertheless made their point.

A Leader vs. Hooligan?

It is uncharacteristic that such a cool leader as Eugene could raise such heat this early and unnerve a seasoned politician like Sonko. The Senator is dealing with Eugene in the same way he deals with his type. He forgets that Eugene is not only cool but unmoved and unperturbed. He forgets that his theatrics and hooliganism only reinforces Eugene’s image as a cool non confrontational leader in the face of a petulant school yard bully. Eugene’s response makes Sonko look like a boy fighting a gentleman. Bullies and hooligans win every now and then but power has always belonged to gentlemen.

Mombasa’s MRC Group BEGS Mike Sonko for CONTINUED SUPPORT as Court demands

Mombasa Republican Council members have requested Nairobi senator Mike Sonko Mbuvi to continue giving them support as they continue uploading peace as per the pledge several years ago.

Senator Sonko, five years ago then as Makandara MP in Nairobi entered into an agreement with MRC leaders for the group to keep the peace for 5 years after several months of running battles with police in Mombasa and Kwale counties.

A mombasa court is said to have demanded MRC leader to appear in court as per the bail terms that were guaranteed by Hon Sonko. The Nairobi senator may also appear in court owing to the fact that he guaranteed bail for the several MRC members who by then had been held at Shimo La Tewa prison by the Mwai Kibaki regime.

DP Ruto FORCED to CANCEL Opening of Nairobi County Assembly for FEAR of HECKLING By Jubilee MCAs

President Uhuru Kenyatta and DP William Ruto skipped the opening of the Nairobi county chamber on Tuesday after Jubilee and Cord MCAs threatened to disrupt the event.

Jubilee MCAs made the threat after realising that DP Ruto was to represent President Uhuru who had left the country for Juba, South Sudan. The Jubilee MCAs are furious of DP Ruto for continued interference of Nairobi city politics.

Most Jubilee MCAs are against DP Ruto’s project CS Eugene Wamalwa. The Jubilee MCAs warned that chairs will fly in the assembly hall if DP Ruto was to attend leaving Kidero with a rotten egg in his face.

On the other hand CORD MCAs also threatened to disrupt the proceeding when they realised that Governor Kidero had not invited Premier Raila Odinga.

Led by majority whip David Mberia, Cord MCAs demanded Raila preside over the event because Nairobi is “Cord County”.

Ruto reportedly asked Governor Evans Kidero to officiate, but Jubilee MCAs walked out, saying they will only attend the ceremony if the president officiates.

Nominated Senator Beth Mugo is among MPs who walked out of the event in protest of project ‘Eugene’

It is alleged that the Jubilee MPs are planning to sack county assembly speaker Alex Ole Magelo.

Migori Senator Wilfred Machage said continued wrangles among MCAs may have led to the no-show by Uhuru and Ruto.

“Politics at City Hall is just too much. It appears there is infighting amongst the MCAs which is in bad light to other arms of the government and public,” the Senator said.

Ruto was scheduled to stand in for the Head of State who made a last minute cancelling owing to an Igad meeting being held in Juba, South Sudan.

Uhuru and STATEHOUSE Operatives LAUGHED hard at ODM’s Messaging DISASTER

CORDASHIANS BEWARE: OUR POLITICAL OPPONENTS ARE NOW OUR BIGGEST ‘FANS’

By Jackson Omondi

Jubilee is officially enjoying what is now turning out to be political carnage on our side of the aisle. We have been a good sport and they are now enjoying the political messaging disaster from the comfort of premier front row seats courtesy of CORD’s online army!

You don’t have to be a nuclear physicist to figure out that in election seasons, a day spent fighting internal battles is music to your opponent’s ears, but spending two to three days doing the exact same thing is called a messaging crisis.

We are in a crisis and it’s time for some higher up in the party to come out and show leadership. What is happening requires political intervention. We can’t spend time giving Jubilee more fodder and unnecessary political soap opera. There are serious issues to talk about.

Lest we forget, Jubilee is busy racking up political PR projects in readiness for the big dance while we are busy knuckling up against one another! And just for perspective; we all know that Jubilee is nursing political wounds from the Sonko-Wamalwa melee and there are many more schisms in Jubilee, but you will be hard pressed to find supporters of both camps dedicating acres of digital ink just to tear each other down.

Moreover, the enemy has now pitched camp on our blogs, relishing the political beat down being administered on our side. While all these are happening, Jubilee’s ruling duo are waltzing to the beats of opposition’s political disorder.

When are we going to start talking about Jubilee? We are in the opposition but given the daily chasms mushrooming from our side, one would think that we are in the government! Friendly fire is officially our standard operating procedure! For instance, Governor Kidero’s sharpest critics are in the opposition!

Lastly, we are heading into one of the toughest elections in modern times, our opponent has deeper pockets and is willing to spend on any living thing so long as it has an identification card. His base is as loyal and disciplined as it gets. In fact, the political choreography and message discipline on his side is only rivalled by the Vatican!

And how are we planning to compete against such a juggernaut? More division, more smart talk and a desultory political ship. No wonder those fans in the stands are going wild!

EXPOSED: VIDEO Evidence CONFIRMS Mike Sonko DID NOT DISRUPT CS Eugene and Bishop Wanjiru Dandora Rally

A video and Photo evidence has emerged that confirms Senator Mike Sonko did not disrupt or cause violence at the Dandora rally convened by Bishop Margret Wanjiru to drum up support for Water CS Eugene Wamalwa.

“I was officially invited and my seat was reserved for me. Kina eugine were just scared the way my supporters were cheering me and escorting me to the dais” Sonko says

TOP Kenyan Singer Akothee COLLAPSED, RUSHED to Hospital in Geneva Switzerland

Kenyan singer Akothee collapsed at a train station in Geneva, Switzerland Tuesday, August 30; and she has been rushed to hospital for treatment, says her manager Nelson.
Akothee was expecting twins, but doctors at a Geneva hospital say they can’t feel the second unborn baby’s heartbeat.

“The condition as per now is not good she was expecting twins but the doctor can’t feel the second heartbeat. We are crossing fingers as the lives of both are in danger,” Nelson told eDaily.

The Give It To Me hit-maker was taken to the theatre where she is currently undergoing surgery.
“As per today morning (Tuesday), the doctor says they have to save the mother.”

Akothee was to head to Basel for antenatal before the unfortunate incident.

“She could not make it so she was rushed to the hospital only to find one heartbeat followed by bleeding,” said Nelson.

Akothee’s manager has urged fans and members of the public to respect the singer’s privacy and share information that won’t cause panic to her family.

Akothee left Kenya for Switzerland, where her fiance lives, in mid August.
We wish Akothee a quick recovery.

INHUMAN: TWO Boys in Maseno School caught having SEX in a Toilet BEATEN and EXPELLED

Two students, in Maseno School, found having sex in a dormitory toilet, were senselessly beaten by fellow students before being handed over to the school authorities who promptly expelled them – for being gay. This is the most outrageously callous decision to ever come from the only National school along the Equator, in the world.
Let me tell you something.
The Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby – who is the senior bishop and principal leader of the Church of England, and also the symbolic head of the worldwide Anglican Communion group of parishes – is preparing what could be the first step towards a formal split in the Church of England over the thorny issue of homosexuality.
Representatives of more than a dozen congregations in the Home Counties are due to gather in a church hall in Tunbridge Wells, Kent, later this week, for the first session of what they say could eventually develop into an alternative Anglican church in England.
Those in the know will tell you that the Church of England have, for a considerable period of time now, been divided right down the middle over whether, or not, to recognise same-sex marriages. Conservative bishops within the church have vowed to create what they call a “shadow synod” vowing to uphold traditional teachings on family values. The Telegraph reports, that “differences over sexuality have already triggered a major rift in the 80 million-strong worldwide Anglican Communion and formal splits in the US and Canada after the ordination of openly gay bishops, which traditionalists say goes against the teaching of the Bible.” They claim the Church of England’s leadership is progressively watering down centuries-old teaching, not just over the issue of sexuality but many core beliefs including the authority of the Bible.

This is not anything new.

Those of you who study the history of evangelism in Africa will tell you that the Catholic Church, when they came to Kenya, outlawed Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) among it’s members, in totality. In fact, for those who read history well, one of the reasons Senior Chief Koinange wa Mbiyu mobilized the Kikuyu, of Kiambu District, then, to chase away christian missionaries teaching in the formal schools was because the missionaries were against ‘retrogressive’ Kikuyu cultural practices.

In Luo Nyanza, especially in my native Seme, the main reason we had only one Roman Catholic parish (at Bar Korwa), for a long time, was because of the contentious issue of polygamy. The Roman catholic church had a tough stance on polygamists to the extent that anyone from a polygamous family was never allowed to hold any position in the Mother Church. Nomiya Luo Sabato, my late grandfather’s church, still holds the lynchpin status in West Seme to the extent that the ACK church in Ngere, and the Roman Catholic Church in Reru, have refused to grow at the pace they were originally intended to.

It is after a lengthy deliberation, at the Vatican, and only when it became imminent that you can’t evangelise with threats, that the Roman catholic church watered down their position on polygamy that the Luo Nyanza faithful decided to start going to Aluor Catholic Mission, in Gem, and, later, the one at Bar Korwa. Senior Chief Koinange Wa Mbiyu, in Kiambu, actually told them to go to hell (when the church barred members practicing FGM from congregating with them). They realised the gravity of Senior Chief Koinange’s threats when the man donated his own land towards the construction of alternative schools for natives who were expelled from the mission schools – a decision that elevated him to a demi-god status among his people.
When the Catholic missionaries discovered they were harmorrghaing faithfuls to the traditionalists, they decided to lower their standards on membership, and take a bystander role on FGM. But even then, they had massively lost out to the other churches who either did not give conditions for membership, or took an ambivalent standpoint on the issue.

Paul Agali Otula is neither an Anglican Church vicar nor a trained theologist. The closest he can come to interpreting Biblical teachings is during the annual prayer day in 3rd term, which has now been culled after the Matiangi ban on school visits.

Maseno School is not any other tinpot institution of middle-level learning. We are the school. This world has two kinds of people: Those who went to Maseno School, and those who watch Maseno School on television. Those who went to Maseno School are trained to represent Maseno with pride, honour, and dignity. You don’t get admitted to Maseno by accident – you work hard, over the course of your junior life, to prove to the authorities that you are worthy of putting on the badge. The expulsion of the two young students have no hint of valour in it, the person who made the decision to send those two students home should return the Maseno School badge and pay for desecrating it.

I say this because during my glory days, and I believe it is still so, Maseno had a fully-fledged student guidance and counselling directorate which was, in all intents and purposes, established to offer a watchful eye, and a listening ear, to all the problems facing young boys who were being moulded into men. The main reason why Maseno School has never, and, perhaps, will never, experience a case of student unrest is because the school administration is always there to listen to the boys, and talk them out of a sticky situation.

Not that nobody has never thought of burning down Maseno School to drive a point home, but in the rare cases where those instances have arisen, the school administration have a legendary record of rising to the occasion, for times on end, and calm down the panache. In 2001, my last year of school, that record almost went up in flames – but a midnight meeting in the Dining Hall by all the teachers, with all the Form Fours, was the magic portion that was desperately needed to cull the rage and send us into maturity. I believe our class is not alone.
Homosexuality is a global crisis – the Church of England is grappling with it, and so is the Roman Catholic Church. I don’t know which school you went to, but I do know your school had these cases of young kids experimenting with sex. No secondary school, boarding or day, girls or boys, can stand here today and claim they have a record of zero cases of children having sex among themselves. If you don’t know, ask around and you’ll be told.
Adolescents experimenting with things they watch on tv, or over the internet, did not begin today. Sex, drugs, crime, alcohol – are just but a few examples of stuff that parents, and teachers, of every high school student in this country worry about every day of their lives. If every student who experimented with drugs were to be expelled from Maseno School today, then it would force Paul Otula to write to the Ministry for a special provision to borrow students from other schools to fill those slots up.

Just last month, I was talking to primary school teachers in informal settlements, in Nairobi, and they told me that on several occasions they have found guns in the bags of children as young as Class 3. Apparently, gangs around the neighbourhood use these innocent kids to transport guns from one area to another for a fee. Because these kids live in abject poverty, they take up the role of transporting these guns, earn the cash, and support their families with. No one would ever suspect a Class 3 child to be having a live pistol inside her bag. So they are used as conduits by slum gangs, and earn a penny in the process.

But these school administrators do not expel these children whenever they find the guns inside their bags. They take them in, listen to their stories, guide them, teach them, nurture them, change them. The history of slum education in this city has a litany of examples of former bad apples now reformed. You don’t fight a vice, among children, by condemning it at face value. What Paul Otula did, with those young boys, was rash, not-thought-through, and uncalled for.

We used to think, for a long time, that HIV/AIDS was a disease reserved for prostitutes, until prominent figures in society started dying like flies. That’s when we declared it a national disaster. Right now those who have AIDS are as normal as normal can be – no one looks at them from a bird’s eye-view.
The day your biological child will check in at home to tell you that they are gay, is the day you’ll all reconsider your uninformed stand on this homosexuality issue. Some parents in this country think they are so special as not to have a gay offspring.
“In spite of the six thousand manuals on child raising in the bookstores, child raising is still a dark continent and no one really knows anything. You just need a lot of love and luck – and, of course, courage.” – Bill Cosby

WHY ODM is a corruption-free institution.

When they say Raila makes a lot of money during nominations do they tell you how much? Are nominations in the other parties free? Let’s respect Raila.

Party nominations are made/paid to ODM Party account which is then used to fund party activities including the nomination process. During nominations ODM prints nomination papers, pays polling agents and other logistical costs associated with party primaries.

Whatever remains is used for presidential campaigns which are expensive. Raila Odinga also campaigns for ODM candidates during the actual general election.

Did anyone pay any nominations fee to Raila’s personal account?

If the IEBC lawyers alone after the presidential petition were paid over sh. 600 million; how much did ODM pay its lawyers?

This idea that Raila and his family does business with ODM is preposterous. It is even sad when the accusation is made by people have never run for village level elections and hence can’t actuarially (from actuarial science) quantify the costs!

Can anyone tabulate ODM nominations fees (x-axis) against the nomination/election expenditures (y-axis) and tell us what Raila supposedly looted?

Friends, let’s challenge these lies being peddled to tarnish the name of our party leader, the heavenly Raila Odinga!

ODM is a corruption-free institution.

TOP Obama Strategist DROPS BOMBSHELL Memo to ODM and CORD Supporters

MEMO TO CORDASHIANS

Let’s keep our eyes on the ball. The enemy is smelling blood, instead of training our arsenal on Jubilee, we are busy trading friendly fire! The other side has sensed what appears to be an Achilles heel as another social media news cycle has gone to the dogs.

It’s important to realize that the current political distemper is undermining our cause while heaping major mileage on Jubilee ‘s political ledger.

The marauding brown envelopes have been unleashed and there is no evidence that they will run out of steam anytime soon. It’s therefore incumbent on us to remember what makes us who we are. It’s time to reach out to our collective conscience and rekindle the spirit of our collective political psyche.

What brought us together as a people still sticks out like a sore thumb. Jubilee may be on cloud nine, but it’s not because of a robust economy or a secure Kenya. It’s because of the constant back and forth on our side of the aisle.

Let’s get it together.

WHY Robert Alai and other CHEAP MINDS Are WRONG on need get UhuRuto OUT of STATEHOUSE in 2017

Friends, let me make something clear. We want power and we want it badly but we don’t want it for the sake of it. We don’t want feckless power. So if your business is just to remove Uhuru, and you don’t care who replaces him; then you are part of the problem.

If we learnt anything from NARC, it is that as we wanted power to transform Kenya, some people wanted it merely to remove Moi the person. They didn’t want to remove Moism.

Once they got power they re-entrenched a more callous strain of Moism without Moi.

I see this misguided argument that if we want to remove Uhuru, Raila shouldn’t be the CORD candidate.

That we better field a dog or a gheko or one of those Easy Coach buses and with Raila’s support any of the inanimates will beat Uhuru at 6.00am before voting starts.

That ooh, they have learnt to beat Raila (the proponents of this obnoxious theory always never tell us how they learnt it, where they learnt it and how it has succeeded) so we shouldn’t field Raila. Pure balderdash!

We don’t want to remove Uhuru; we want to remove Uhuruism, which is a more sophisticated version of Moism.
My political reading of Raila Odinga is that he has no problem with Uhuru the person. They only depart on points of governance and the exercise of power.

If they’ve learnt to beat Raila why has Raila beaten them in all the elections after 2013? If they’ve learnt to beat Raila won’t stops them from beating anyone Raila supports? See where this argument starts to limp?

Those falling to this propaganda only reveal how they are mentally given to accepting excuses not to do their best or hold dearly on their convictions.

To them we recommend a reading of Thomas Edison. And if they be men of Sunday school we recommend a read of Exodus 17:10-12.

The future belongs to those who ceaselessly chase it.

If Raila resigns to the fate that he can’t make it tomorrow they will say Alai can’t make it and point to Raila. “We told you Raila can’t make it and he didn’t. Believe us when we say Alai can’t make it”.

If Raila can’t make it what makes any of us think he/she can make it?

In Kenya we must reject this absurd notion that some people can’t be because some people says so. If this country belongs to all we must keep breaking these ceilings.

If Raila can’t make it in Kenya what makes you think you can?

Part 4 of 10: Serving JAP on CORD ticket, that’s Governor Kidero

By Kenya Today Team

At the invitation of Nairobi Governor Dr. Evans Kidero, County Speaker Alex Magelo (ODM) and Majority Leader Elias Otieno (ODM), President Uhuru will tomorrow launch the newly refurbished Nairobi County Assembly Chambers.

No national leader in the opposition CORD has been invited. This is typical Evans Kidero politics. At every turn in his 4 years in power, Kidero has sought to elevate JAP than ODM in Nairobi County.

It is regrettable that in an assembly that the ODM enjoys the majority including providing leadership of the county itself, JAP has more political leverage than ODM.

Tomorrow’s function will see a lot of shadow boxing toward ODM Leader Raila Odinga whom governor Kidero has swore must lose Nairobi vote to Uhuru.

The three musketeers organizing it are Kidero, Speaker Alex Ole Magelo and Majority Leader Elias Otieno. So comfortable is Uhuru working with CORD Nairobi team that some Jubilee aspirants have been openly told they should swallow their ambitions.

This has nothing to do with any good work the Nairobi top ODM/CORD Leadership are doing. It has everything to do with Uhuru manipulating them for his re-election.

Whereas the title of the “Father of Devolution” is indisputably Raila Odinga’s, we note with a lot of dismay that the ODM party leader has yet to be formally invited to address the County Assembly of Nairobi as he has done in numerous other counties of Kenya. This is against the backdrop of Governor Kidero formally and informally hosting JAP’s pointman at City Hall on several occasions.

Today, at the behest of Governor Kidero,  it is none other than ODM’s Majority Leader Elias Otieno who has spent the entire weekend to whip up ODM MCAs to attend Uhuru’s assembly launch.

Otieno has completely changed from the leader we knew and cannot distinguish that ODM is in competition with JAP. This too is not surprising of Kidero’s groupies. Most of the leaders loyal to Kidero always see ODM, the party that sponsored them to their high positions, as nothing more than a doormat to power.

Sources say, his loyalty stems from a deal they cut whereby a close associate of Otieno was awarded the tender to refurbish the county assembly at astronomical amounts that contrasts sharply with those estimates provided on the Bill of Quantities by the officials from Public Works.

Not only is there a conflict of interest but serious integrity questions too.

The strangest part is that Kidero, Ole Magelo and Otieno have never actually mobilized anything on behalf of Raila Odinga or the ODM in Nairobi County. Every ODM/CORD function in Nairobi often happen by the Grace of God. City Hall has been the worst public office to seek permits to host ODM/CORD events.

The worst happened when City Hall made two approvals to the same Uhuru Park which almost made a scheduled CORD event cancelled. To date, Kidero has not apologized to ODM while has done everything to beg for forgiveness to Pastor Lucy wa Ngunjiri, including donating millions to her.

Nairobi County ODM/CORD leadership are in their comfort zones being pampered by their Jubilee friends. Save for Deputy Governor Jonathan Mueke (WIper) who usually turns up for CORD events, no other senior political officials attend, or even participate in the planning stages.

Going by their this weekend agitation and mobilization for Uhuru, one wonders what is at stake for them during presidential launch  that they are almost falling over themselves bribing ODM MCAs attend. Some of the MCAs are reported to have warned the function will be used to launch JAP Nairobi team.

We remember with bitterness how during the recent anti-IEBC protests all the top three Nairobi County leaders abandoned the opposition initiatives at forcing electoral reforms, but they now want to harvest from the fruits of the protests.

We cannot forget that Nairobi County top leadership was conveniently missing as Raila Odinga sat on the University Way tarmac and was tear-gassed multiple times agitating for reforms in our electoral system. Other governors and other counties even organized their own protests, not the kings of Nairobi.

A time is soon coming when ODM shall cleanse the entire Nairobi County.

WHY Uhuru and STATEHOUSE HEADACHE over Coast, Luyha and Kisii Will Get WORSE even after FLOODING Millions to brokers

JUBILEE ‘S ILL-FATED POLITICAL FISHING EXPEDITIONS
By Jackson Omondo alias Nicco Machiaveli
In keeping with a long standing tradition of Kenyan incumbent presidents running for reelection, president Uhuru Kenyatta’s 2017 political game plan took a decisive dimension when the last balloon dropped from the ceilings of Bomas of Kenya auditorium.

Governor Alfred Mutua’ s political extravaganza had all the hallmarks of a well oiled national campaign. From the pizzazz, the highfaluting rhetoric, the historic venue and the convention-esque political razzle dazzle, there was no doubt that the Governor’s targeted audience were domiciled well beyond Machakos County!

Tellingly, the Governor’s launch came just days before another ‘rogue’ leader unpacks his Mulembe consciousness political junta. Ababu Namwamba is set to go live with his contingent of politicians whom he says have gone through their political ‘Saul to Paul moments’ and are now ready to “liberate” folks from political “persecution. ”
The same thing is happening at the Coast where some politicians are busy racking in ‘bonga’ points in order to please Jubilee ‘s top brass.

Jubilee is simply xeroxing political playbooks of yesteryears with hopes that they can slice and in some cases, torpedo CORD’s plan to hold on to its strongholds.

Even Stevie Wonder can see that Governor Mutua is overplaying his hand in Ukamabani by thinking that he has the chops to take on Kalonzo. The perfect time to showcase political chutzpah came and went when Kalonzo took Jubilee to the cleaners! Jubilee had the courts, IEBC and other political flunkies who were dusted up from political dustbins to come and harangue and frustrate the then CORD’s political newbie and Supreme Court superstar ( Kethi Kilonzo) and when they thought they had CORD in check, Kalonzo reminded them that CORD had more Kilonzos than ever before! Mutula Kilonzo Jnr dwarfed Jubilee in a landslide.

As for the Mulembe consciousness, so long as the ring leader’s constituency is predominantly coloured in Orange, Jubilee bundlers are better off asking for refunds. Furthermore, the Western region is home to the carcasses of political projects who must now be case studies in political science classes. I am talking about two former vice-presidents who made wrong political decisions and rightfully faced the wrath of the able voters.

To say that Governor Joho never loses sleep over political hiccups at the Coast is an understatement. And his party leader filed the coastal region in CORD’s column in BC! For starters, Jubilee ‘s picks to dislodge CORD are the who-is-who in the D-list of Coast politicos and to imagine that that is the cast tasked with the sisyphean task of ousting the Joho-Kingi axis, one is better of selling fire in hell.

In sum, Jubilee is simply dishing out money because they have lots of it. The notion that the new recruits will put a dent into the rock solid CORD sphere of influence is the mother of all ambitions.

STOP Stage Managing Violence, I DID NOT GATECRASH Dandora Rally- Sonko Tells Team CS Eugene Wanjiru

Nairobi senator Mike Sonko Mbuvi has refuted reports that he gatecrashed CS Eugene Wamalwa and Bishop Margret Wanjiru meeting in Dandora on Saturday. The senator confirmed that he was officially invited and even at the rally his seat was reserved.

They are stage managing the events to show that I am violent. I was officially invited and my seat was reserved for me. Kina eugine were just scared the way my supporters were cheering me and escorting me to the dais

Meanwhile as most Nairobian are struggling to get access to clean water both Nairobi governor Evans Kidero and Water CS Eugene Wamalwa are not offering any solutions despite the fact that both have mandate to serve the residents.

CS Wamalwa is in charge of Water and irrigation, he should strive to make sure Nairobians have clean water in abundance now that he wants to be governor, he should demonstrate his prowess in service delivery instead of dogging Margret Wanjiru

While CS Eugene is clearly contraving the constitution by engaging in politics while in office as CS, senator Sonko is giving temporary solutions to the current water crisis being experienced in the city. Today his team supplied over 100,000 litres of water to the residents of mathare, huruma and mlango kubwa

VIDEO: DRAMA in Nakuru as the Might Prophet Owuor UNLEASES MIRACLES

By KKK
Watch Video above by NTV to witness Prophet Owuor’s Super Grand Mega Revival and Healing Service. No, don’t gasp at the size of the crowd bigger than Rainbow Alliance (it was too large to be held at Afraha stadium, had to be relocated to a gigantic farm), don’t smirk that Caucasians are kneeling for him like God, don’t shake your head at the raised podium holding discarded wheelchairs, crutches and disability paraphernalia attesting to his healing abilities, don’t sigh at the frenzy with which the crowd has broken into at his arrival.

Instead, rise up on your feet and give him a standing ovation for an outstanding performance in religious theatre, the kind that has not been seen in Kenya in ages. As an art and culture critic, i give him a ten out of ten for artistry, organization and giving life to millions (we are all deluded in our different ways).

Prophet Owuor reminds us that life is performance and only performance, and if you can’t go big, go home.

DRAMA: CS Eugene Wamalwa, Bishop Wanjiru CHASED LIKE DOGS by Mike Sonko supporters in Dandora

Water CS Eugene Wamalwa’s political rally in Dandora area to popularize his gubernatorial bid was on Saturday disrupted after Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko stormed the event accompanied by rowdy youth.

Wamalwa, who was accompanied by former Starehe MP Margaret Wanjiru were forced to abruptly abandon the event and scamper for safety as the rowdy youth took over the podium.

A near fist fight broke out in the ensuing melee forcing security aides attached to the CS and other officials who had attended the event to whisk away their bosses before speeding away in their cars.

The drama points to a deep seated rivalry between candidates seeking Jubilee Party’s nomination ticket for Nairobi governor in next year’s polls.

The seat has attracted a total of four candidates affiliated to the Jubilee party.

They include Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko, Dagoreti South MP Dennis Waweru and TNA chairman Johnston Sakaja.

The high profile drama serves to paint a picture of a split in Jubilee over the preferred candidate for the party ticket after a meeting convened by Nairobi MPs on Friday to forge a working formula flopped.

This was after Sakaja, Waweru and Sonko snubbed it.

Only Wamalwa and Wanjiru attended the meeting.

The MPs were seeking to reach an agreement to consolidate support for one candidate who will face off with Governor Evans Kidero in the August 2017 polls.

It is however quite clear that the two rival groups are pulling in opposite directions, each determined to counter their rivals for the Jubilee ticket.

This especially after Sonko, Sakaja and Waweru met on Friday afternoon at Serena Hotel and pledged to join forces , hours after skipping the meeting convened by the MPs at Norfolk Hotel.

President Robert Mugabe was Right, Kenyans are GUILTY of Corruption and Other Malfeasance. Given Opportunity we can steal the Sun and the Moon

By Lady D S

We have a penchant for amassing wealth illegally. We want to cut corners, defraud our employers and taxpayers, misappropriate public resources and mismanage the little at our disposal. The moment we get into public office, we forget Wanjiku and embark on a looting spree. Honesty and hard work no longer appeal to us.

In fact those who refuse to engage in malfeasance are looked down upon. Publicly we shout loudest against corruption and ‘lynch’ suspected culprits, not because we abhor corruption but because we envy them.

Philip Kinisu, the chairman of EACC, is a man under siege, a case of the hunter becoming the hunted. It seems this is a jinxed office. I am thinking of Aaron Ringera, the eloquent and high sounding PLO Lumumba and other anti-corruption crusaders who were forced out of office rather unceremoniously. Esaki Ltd, a company associated with his family was the source of his current woes. It placed him in an awkward position as the chairman of a body investigating the scam in NYS.

Not that the Parliamentary committee investigating is made up of angels. We know that corruption is rife in these committees where MPs are paid to water down reports in favour of powerful individuals. Kinisu should have known better. Let him fry in his own fat.

One gets shocked at the colossal sums of money transacted daily on Mpesa by police officers. This is revealed during the ongoing police vetting. The officers are at pain to explain the source of the millions of shillings in their accounts and the money transactions. It doesn’t require a genius to deduce that this is money acquired through bribes. I hear they even receive protection fees from criminals and drug barons!

I don’t know of any other country where an imposter can infiltrate the medical fraternity, pass off as a doctor, ‘treating’ patients, administering drugs and doing all that pertains to the medical profession for 3 months without detection. Only in Kenya.

Or a fake policeman in the police force, barking out orders, conducting recruitment and leading operations for years without as much as raising an eyebrow. It beats logic! And you expect our officers to carry out investigations, amass evidence and successfully lead to the conviction of a criminal. The guys cannot smoke out an imposter in their own ranks!

The Rio fiasco is typically Kenyan. While our world beating athletes lived in deplorable conditions in Rio De Janeiro, NOC-K officials came along with their wives, children and mistresses, living large at the expense of the athletes. These officials are a law unto themselves and disregard government policies, guidelines and instructions with impunity because they are beholden to IOC.

IOC is always eager to come to the rescue of corrupt NOC-K officials instead of teaming up with the government to read the riot act to the blundering, thieving officials who enjoy frustrating our award winning athletes as they entertain their concubines. At the risk of being banned from participating in future Olympics, Wario should put his foot down.

These guys should be hounded out of office and bundled into police cells to await conviction and subsequent imprisonment for embezzlement.

Hon Waweru, Hon Sakaja to team with Sonko to VANQUISH DP Ruto Project Eugene out of Nairobi Governor Race

Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko, Nominated MP Johnson Sakaja and Dagoretti South MP Dennis Waweru have decided to work together to unseat governor Evans Kidero in the 2017 general election.

The three leaders met on Friday afternoon at Serena Hotel and pledged to join forces.

Details of the meeting remain scanty, but it is likely that they might form an alliance to counter their rivals eyeing the city seat.

The legislators had skipped an earlier meeting called by Nairobi MPs in the bid to unite all governor aspirants targeting the Jubilee ticket.

Only two of the six – Water CS Eugene Wamalwa and former Starehe MP Margaret Wanjiru – attended the meeting.

Maina Kamanda (Starehe), George Theuri (Embakasi West), James Gakuya (Embakasi North), and Yusuf Hassan (Kamukunji) are some of the MPs who attended the meeting.

Other leaders who have declared their bid to oust the incumbent are businesswoman Esther Passaris and Cord leader Raila Odinga’s former aide Miguna Miguna.

TOP Obama strategist moves to RESCUE Governor Kidero, See Open letter that got Luo CRYING

Too many Jackson Omondi aka Nicco Machiavelli is just a mere political pundit on Facebook, his occasional insightful political strategy posts often go viral and end up being plagialized by mainstream media journalists and columnists.

Well, Jackson is not a political armature pundit, he actually runs a top political strategy consulting in USA with ‘A-list’ clients in the democratic party (from state senators, governors, house of Reps , senate and even presidency- Obama campaigns.

Now, sample this amazing piece of a random free advice in a form of an open letter to Governor Kidero, many a Luo only are said to have been moved by thre content- nobody cried yet!

OPEN LETTER TO GOVERNOR EVANS KIDERO
Allow me to inconvenience your person with some unsolicited political counsel. Your Excellency , the political season is upon us and many a political commentator is penning your political obituary in the most grotesque ways known to mankind. This writer has a different view and I beseech you to take a walk with me.

The Democrats lost control of the House of Representatives and were on their way to another electoral drubbing in 2012. On the chopping board, was a much more potent political seat – the presidency! Obama was running for reelection and many African Americans were disappointed with the Obama administration, the first black president had not lived up to their expectations. They expected Obama, a black president, to bring about a paradigm shift in their lives and after four years, Obama, in their view, fell short.

And when the Republicans sensed the dejection in the African American community and made efforts to tap into it by swaying blacks to abandon Obama, the Obama campaign Strategists unleashed black political luminaries on the trail with a chilling political talking point: ” are we going to be the generation that gave the first black president only one term to fix what generations of white men couldn’t fix?” ” How will America remember the first black president? ” Is he going to be remembered as a guy who couldn’t govern? By not voting to reelect Obama, are we not going to reinforce the stigma that blacks are just not up to par?

Blacks got the message and virtually all blacks voted to reelect Obama and the minority votes made the difference in key battleground states and helped put Obama over the requisite number for reelection.

Your Excellency, we are being told that you have underperformed and somehow, you don’t deserve a second term. Curiously, your detractors have established a benchmark that no other politician is required to meet. They expected you to turn Nairobi inside out, a fete that no politician can hit the confession booth and wax about.

A county that has hosted four presidents who didn’t give a rat’s tail about its roads or its amenities, a county that has been a habitat for all and sundry, in just five years, is now expected to be heaven. You have done your part and it’s time to fiercely seek a second term.

Allow me to address those who have trained their firepower your way and I am talking about those from your side of the aisle. The fact that Jubilee is spending sleepless nights trying to figure out how to kick you out should be enough to let people know the magnitude of what you will confront.

Cordashians should be and will be on your side. Until someone can produce video footage of you plotting to undermine our party leader or an audio tape of you rattling out disparaging remarks about RAO, I urge you to treat the ‘molegate’ as mere hearsay or political witch hunt.

Any true Cordashian cannot purport to be so peeved by your record to an extent that they can fathom voting for a Jubilee candidate. If they do, then they should put up their CORD credentials up for interrogation and we will ask them to show us a jubilant who has switched to CORD because of Jubilee ‘s pathetic record on security, economy and education.

Mr Govenor, this election will be one of the most expensive elections in the country and I am sure you are up to the task. The whole country is glued to the Nairobi gubernatorial JAP political bloodbath and as you are well aware, Jubilee will inevitably leave some people heartbroken. That is your opportunity Sir! Jump in and clandestinely pick a horse and bankroll him or her to the main event! You have the money. Use it!

In doing so, you will have a dog in their fight and while they duke it out, you and CORD will watch from the sidelines while you simultaneously use your vast largesse to cement your position as CORD’s candidate in Nairobi.
AFter all, if CORD is serious about a presidential stab, they must protect and defend the most coveted gubernatorial seat in the land! That’s your pitch. As a fellow luo, the last thing I want to be associated with is a sorry narrative to the effect that a luo had the infamy of losing reelection for the most plush gubernatorial seat in Kenya!

Sir, your 2013 political team was second to none. I urge you to resurrect it and give it more teeth. This time, sir, include more wily and shrewd political operatives with a take-no-prisoners attitude. You are the incumbent and I am sure you have seen what incumbents do to retain power. Pull all the stops.

You are the majority owner of a local daily, make good use of it. Plant stories of you can. Recruit a media team with a knack for political ruthlessness. Don’t ignore any political attacks. You are likely to face Senator Sonko as your main opponent, just remember that Sonko is a champion retail politician and the last thing you want is to attempt to match him in his forte.

Since you are the incumbent, you get to set the rules of engagement. If you are to debate him, make sure that you have thoroughly rehearsed and ready for unconventional debate. Everyone and their mother knows how you flunked the Waititu debate. If you botched a debate against Waititu, Sonko will clean your clock. I suggest you stay away from the debates unless your team is confident that you have improved.

In conclusion, Mr GOVERNOR, I want you to succeed and I believe that you will get it done but you must move with clinical precision. The spirit of CORD needs you to succeed, historic political fable is on the table. Jubilee is doing so well that they have managed to throw a spanner in CORD and now CORDASHIANS are busy attacking you instead of focusing on Uhuru Kenyatta! This is why I urge you to stay focused.

The history of Nairobi and the interllectual legacy of one of Kenya’s most maligned and celebrated community is on the line. How will historians judge us? Will they say that a community that produced a president of the United States, a mercurial trade unionist, an unparalleled reforms champion and panafricanist was given the most coveted gubernatorial seat in the land but after one term, was booted out of town in infamy? I don’t think so! We know better. Go for it Odhis!

Jubilee MPs BETRAY DP Ruto, REFUSE to ENDORSE CS Wamalwa for Nairobi Governorship, they PREFER Bishop Margret Wanjiru

CS WAMALWA LEFT SEETHING WITH RAGE AFTER MORNING BETRAYAL BY JAP MPs

On Friday morning at a breakfast meeting convened at the behest of DP William Ruto and chaired by JAP Nairobi pointman Maina Kamanda, ostensibly to endorse Eugene Wamalwa as the sole JAP Nairobi Gubernatorial candidate has ended in disarray and uncertainty.

At the tension packed meeting, the MPs failed to agree on the main agenda of the day and exposed Kamanda’s leadership deficiency.

In a chilly Nairobi, what was to be a routine endorsement of Eugene Ludovick Wamalwa as the sole JAP gubernatorial candidate was not only boycotted by Senators Sonko, Sakaja, MP Waweru all of whom are leading contenders for the JAP Nairobi ticket, a shocked Maina emerged from the meeting without an agreement and therefore no line up to announce to supporters waiting outside.

Unnamed sources further contend that by majority, Jubilee MPs present gravitated toward supporting Bishop Margaret Wanjiru as the candidate at one time demanding Maina Kamanda place a call to state house to “pass their message”. Eventually, despite generous offers of financial compensation, the MPs declined to endorse forcing a wide-eyed CS Wamalwa to either agree to be Bishop Wanjiru running mate or seek 2017 opportunities elsewhere. He was non committal.

What’s more, the meeting’s acrimonious end has completely torn to shreds the so called Luhya Consciousness nonsense. Sometimes one has to agree with COTU Boss Atwoli. Why would a community that already has four governors fight tooth and nail for Nairobi Governor? Is the presidency only a preserve of other communities and the job of Luhyas is to vote for others to control a Ksh.2 trillion annual budget?

Part 3 of 10: Kidero reverts to Jubilee ‘church money politics’

In this third part of a 10 part series, we unmask Governor Dr. Evans Kidero’s  ‘church money politics’ that’s typical of Jubilee, and not CORD.

In recent months, Kidero’s weekend schedule has seen him hop from church to church, dishing out millions of shillings in his trail.

The only other politician who rampages the poor in this manner is Deputy President William Ruto. Despite this, Kenyans this week revealed in an opinion poll that they think Ruto is the most corrupt politician in Kenya.

Church money politics as you know is not the ideal way of worshipping God. At best, politicians use it to launder money. Money laundering destroys the economy.

Just like Ruto, Governor Kidero is dishing millions in Nairobi churches whether in Nairobi slums or high end evangelical churches, is meant to ‘buy’ the church vote. This is typical Jubilee politics.

When you study CORD, you realize that top leaders don’t run from church to church to dish money. CORD ideology is based on the premise that the challenges facing the urban poor, like in Nairobi, or the poor everywhere in our country can only be solved through deliberate pro-poor intervention policies.

For the urban poor, one such policy would be low-cost city housing programmes. Sadly, Nairobi is the most expensive city in terms of housing. Four years in power and the new county government has nothing to show toward this sector.

To mask his failure; Kidero has resorted to corrupting churches.

While attending church functions, these leaders always never show the decency and religious decorum that true believers identify with. To them, religion is the ‘opium of the poor’.

Church money politicians are the most corrupt and most evil. Often, they use looted money to buy political support from the ever-trusting church goers.

LOUD MOUTH Aden Duale Suffers Acute BRAIN FREEZE After reading ODM boss Oduor Ong’wen Post

Well, today morning our parlimenatry reporter Chris Maina caught up with Aden Duale and asked him why he and DP Ruto have making jokes of how CORD has not named their flag bearer for next year’s presidential run…

Well, never mind its a whole year left before the next general election but DP Ruto and Duale have made it seem that CORD is lagging behind in naming their presidential campaign, others have said that DP Ruto is making the pronouncements to insulate himself from a possible replacement as Uhuru’s runningmate following his tainted image….
Here is the post that got Duale speechless, brainfrozen and mouth shut, he had no comment BUT a sheepish smile>>

TOO LATE TO COMPETE?
By Oduor Ogw’en
If you hear jubilee’s top honcho speak about CORD having not yet named its flag bearer for August 2017 Presidential election, you could think the day of judgment tomorrow.

The Elections are some 11 months, 16 days away. Is it too late if at this stage a party or coalition has not “unveiled” its candidate?

Let’s look at the US: The elections November 8, 2016, yet the two leading parties – Republicans and Democrats – nominated their candidates only last month, less than 4 months to the polls.

Closer home, in 2007, both ODM and ODM Kenya nominated their candidates in September for elections slated for December 27 ($ months) and nobody complained they were late.

In the last General Election, CORD unveiled its candidate on December 22, 2012 for March 4, 2013 election (two-and-a-half months) and Uhuru was unveiled on December 4 (after the “Mademoni” fiasco) yet nobody said it was too late.

In 2002, Kibaki was picked at the “Kibaki Tosha” Uhuru Park rally end of October 2002 for elections slated for December 29 (barely two months) yet there was no single noise.

So what is so special about 2017 elections that CORD must must declare its flag bearer with alacrity? Is it so that we may decide with target the Eurobond and NYS loot should be aimed against?

BREAKING: Hon Onyonka roughed up and chased away for GATECRASHING into CORD meeting

Kitutu Chache South ODM Member of Parliament hon Richard Momoima Onyonka, who was on 23rd roughed up and thrown out of Ufungamano House at a CORD meeting, has resolved to defend his seat on an independent ticket.

Onyonka who among other ODM leaders, has been warming up for Jubilee, has received a hostile reception in Gusiiland especially in his backyard which is a CORD zone.

Onyonka tried to gatecrash into a CORD meeting and was nearly beaten up by angry CORD supporters that were disgusted by his presence.

Momoima has been a fierce critic of his party leader Raila Odinga, saying Raila is obsolete and must therefore retire.

His previous attempts to sell Nairobi Governor Dr. Evans Kidero as the Nyanza kingpin bore no fruit after youths nearly lynched him a couple of times.

The Kitutu Chache South legislature has unavailingly tried to join Jubilee with the intention of having his jumbo debts and corruption cases disburdened off his back.

The man has also worked hard to try and impress Jubilee so that they can cover up his massive CDF and UWEZO fund embezzlements.

Nonetheless, his efforts have been barren since the entire Gusii is a no-go-zone for Jubilee. He once led a huge delegation to Sugoi where they met the Deputy President at his home and declared he would run on a Jubilee ticket in 2017.

According to political pundits, Onyonka has read between the lines and sensed defeat by an ODM candidate who is preferably Raila’s right-hand man Anthony Kibagendi.

Raila is said to have been mentoring Mr. Kibagendi who reportedly gave hon Onyonka a run for his money during the 2013 elections. Kibagendi is said to be Raila’s groundsman in Kitutu Chache South and he has been nominated by Raila to represent the party in imperative TV and Radio Talkshows

Kibagendi is an ardent defender of Raila and ODM and is the man that gave Hon Onyonka sleepless nights and eventually elbowed him out of the party.

Ababu Namwamba HITS DEAD END as Jubilee BLOCKS Registration of his kiosk Political Party

Registrar of Political Parties Lucy Ndung’u has declined to register a new party associated with Budalang’i MP Ababu Namwamba and Ganze’s Peter Shehe.

In her letter to the applicants, she said her office will not register the Federal Democratic Alliance of Kenya, until the issues are resolved.

“In view of the above and without prejudice, and since this issue concerns an existing party, the office finds it only fair and just to forward this letter of objection to the applicant for more information and appropriate action,” Ndung’u said in her August 16 letter.
Party launched

Speaking to the Star yesterday after an interview with Radio Jambo, Namwamba denied he is behind attempts to register the party, though he said it has been launched.

“This party was launched at the Coast by Shehe and it has shown interest to work with me,” he said.
Federal Party of Kenya secretary general Kennedy Okelo has objected to the registration of the party after, saying it has a similar name to his political outfit.

“We had no alternative but to follow the law governing the operations of political parties in the country because that is our obligation,” he said.

The Political Parties Act says the registrar may reject an application for registration of a party if the name, its abbreviation or the symbol resemble those of another registered political party. Shehe was not available for comment by press time.

It is said Namwamba, the former ODM secretary general who has fallen out with his party, has been pushing for registration of the outfit.

It is said to be part of his efforts to consolidate the Western vote ahead of 2017 – an intitiative popularly known as the Mulembe consciousness.

Finally, Big win for Kenyans as Uhuru succumbs to pressure and Ascends to the Interest Capping Bill

On July 28, 2016, the National Assembly passed the Banking (Amendment) Bill, 2015. The Bill intends to regulate interest rates that are applicable to banks’ loans and deposits, capping the interest rates that banks can charge on loans and must pay on deposits.

In line with the Constitution of Kenya the Bill was presented to me, for appropriate action as required by law.

Since receiving this Bill, I have consulted widely and it is clear to me from those consultations that Kenyans are disappointed and frustrated with the lack of sensitivity by the financial sector, particularly banks. These frustrations are centred around the cost of credit and the applicable interest rates on their hard–earned deposits. I share these concerns.

This is the third time that the National Assembly is attempting to reduce interest rates to affordable levels. In the previous two instances, dialogue and promises of change prevailed and banks avoided the introduction of these caps. In those instances, banks failed to live up to their promises and interest rates have continued to increase along with the spreads between the deposit and lending rates.

Despite having one of the most efficient and effective financial markets, Kenya has one of the highest returns-on-equity for banks in the African continent. Banks need to do more to reduce the cost of credit and ensure that the benefits of the vibrant financial sector are also felt by their customers.

Upon weighing carefully all these considerations, on balance, I have assented to the Bill as presented to me. We will implement the new law, noting the difficulties that it would present, which include credit becoming unavailable to some consumers and the possible emergence of unregulated informal and exploitative lending mechanisms.

We will closely monitor these difficulties, particularly as they relate to the most vulnerable segments of our population. Whilst doing so, my Government will also accelerate other reform measures necessary to reduce the cost of credit and thereby create the opportunities that will move our economy to greater prosperity.

We recognize that banks have done much in the last decade in terms of innovation and promoting financial inclusion and look to their doing more in that direction.

We also reiterate our commitment to free market policies in driving sustainable economic growth, to which we owe much of our success.

Part 2 of 10: A case against governor Kidero’s FILTHY management beyond 2017

By Osugo Moseti

Nairobi City County gets the highest funding from the national government. It also collects more taxes than any other county in Kenya. Compared to Mombasa, Governor Hassan Joho gets peanuts. Yet, you move around Nairobi streets and estates; heaps of filth and garbage choke you.

Nairobi is inhospitable. Nation Newspaper once quipped, “Whereas developed cities have efficient systems for sorting and clearing garbage, Nairobi just creates a mountain of rotting garbage in an open field”.

Nairobi today is filthier than it was when he took over. This is because City Hall; the county headquarters, is a filthy place. The place is filled with the city’s worst scumbags.

The head of the scumbags is none other than Gov. Kidero. In the early stages of his government a private company called ‘Creative Consolidated’ was contracted by City County to manage waste collection. This company does shoddy job.

Sadly, it has monopolized waste collection. The sad thing is; it can’t be changed because it’s owned by…well…well..well…your guess is right.

The worst hit areas are places where low-income city residents live. In these areas, uncollected garbage can take weeks and weeks before city trucks show up.

In Eastleigh, which contributes substantially to the city county’s taxes, residents even threatened to boycott paying duties. You can read that here.

On managing filth alone, Dr. Kidero should lose and a new government formed at City Hall that can save the city from the filth of city hall.
