WHY GOVERNOR HASSAN JOHO IS MUTE !!

A serious rebellion has been staged in ODM from the day Governor Joho declared he would go to every corner of the Country as Raila Odinga’s chief campaigner.

Gem Mp Jakoyo is the one leading rebellion against Joho, this is something which appears to have been discussed exhaustively by the group against Joho’s rise. Jakoyo didn’t attend #ODMat10 Mombasa Celebrations, evaded Joho’s Nairobi ODM Mathare Rally and was Conspicuously absent at the Joho’s ODM Rally held in Kisumu despite being in Kisumu that Saturday. That is enough proof.

Suna East MP Junet Mohamed is also a marked man having worked closely with Right Hon. Raila Odinga for long making some of the conservatives jealous. He even worsened the jealousy by appearing to be working closely with Governor Joho who is now becoming a victim of their orchestrated plans.

As for Junet, the plan is to back a sole candidate with a propaganda that the people of Suna East should vote for their own as Junet is a foreigner with no roots in Suna, he isn’t an autochthonous therefore he doesn’t deserve that seat.

Unpopular and Uncharismatic Ruaraka MP Tj Kajwang is the one tasked to keep Junet Mohammed busy. He is already planning a caravan to traverse Suna East Constituency disguised as Voter Registration drive without involving the area MP, That’s the kind of disrespect oozing from a leader who can’t conduct a similar activity in his own Ruaraka Constituency because residents have vowed to replace him in 2017.

TJ invests heavily in security when visiting his own constituency for fear of an eventuality out of peoples rage. His choice of Suna East is enough proof that he has something against junet who has diligently played his role in Change movement without intruding in his area of jurisdiction.

Back to Governor Joho, the intention is to confine him to the Politics of Mombasa instead of playing a role at the Presidential campaigns as he had declared during #ODMat10 celebration in Mombasa.

First, Joho has been battling out Jubilee in Mombasa from 2013 having ensured all MCAs were elected on ODM tickets , they have pulled all their moves in an attempt to spread their dominance not only in Mombasa but the entire Coast Region. Had Joho been a weakling, Jubilee’s dominance would have waxed by now, His steady and unrelenting Political warfare has managed to tame them. All they can do today is ‘Kula kwa Macho’’.

Secondly, Governor Joho hasn’t had an easy time having defeated Wiper Party candidate Suleiman Shabbal in 2013 Gubernatorial elections. He faced an election petition which was ruled in his favor. It didn’t take long before current Wiper Secretary General Hassan Omar declared interest for the same position, He has managed to keep Joho busy on the ground. That’s healthy in a democracy, the battle is between ODM and Wiper as it was in 2013 with Joho stating that he is even ready for a joint CORD Nomination process if need be.

The recent proclamation by Nyali MP Awiti Bolo that Luo Community in Mombasa will not vote for Joho in 2017 signaled how deep the war is even though his statement remains inconsequential.

Lastly, Joho is currently facing a battle within ODM, the conservatives aren’t happy of the free hand he has to organize ODM functions to campaign for Raila Odinga. They are doing everything possible to ensure his activities do not go on.

In ODM, it appears Parochial individual interests supersedes the collective interest of the party unlike Jubilee where leaders can tussle and jostle without affecting the main goal . That people can scheme to sabotage activities geared towards achieving the main goal simply because of cheap insecurities is enough proof that we still have a long way to go.

Governor Joho may have goofed more so on involvement; however, scheming to tame him isn’t the way to go, instead, the best move would have been to find a way of ensuring such goofs are mitigated as he traverses the country in support of Raila Odinga, that’s the true spirit of togetherness.

Right Hon. Raila’s star has shot , he has disapproved those who were casting doubts initially. He has managed to sustain Political relevance contrary to some conservatives who had concluded that 2013 marked the end of his political career. This can only be maintained by people who believe he has a good chance in 2017 especially when President is admitting his incapacitation to steer the country towards the right path, Raila Odinga remains to be the best alternative.

While Luo conservatives are keen to make 2017 about succession politics with Dr. Evans Kidero at the epicenter, there are genuine Raila Odinga lieutenants who want to give their best. We have leaders who can’t even hold Political activities in their own backyards yet they want to control the Presidential campaign to ensure their selfish interests are catered for,It’s time to separate wheat from chaff.

It’s a pity that they are more interested in reducing a national leader like Raila Odinga to their Luo Cocoon when the holder of instruments of Power is struggling to brand himself as a national leader. If the Kidero’s , Jakoyo’s , Mbadi’s and Ongwen’s of ODM can assure ODM supporters that they can give the best for Raila Odinga then I am sure those who have managed to keep the momentum can silently retreat to their respective constituencies as they await celebrating Raila’s Victory in 2017, Unfortunately, the group has proved to have their own ulterior motives.
