Project Eugene gets Shebesh backing
It’s now confirmed that Water Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa’s bid for Nairobi Governor’s seat is a project of Deputy President William Ruto.
Ruto has now enlisted the support of faded Nairobi Women Representative Rachael Shebesh to support Eugene’s quest to unseat Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero in 2017. Shebesh now says she backs Eugene’s candidature for the Governor’s seat and not that of Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko who helped her to be elected in 2013.
Shebesh says Eugene has performed excellently as Water CS and he deserved to be the Nairobi Governor rather than the people’s choice Mike Sonko according to latest opinion polls.
Ex-ODM Secretary General Ababu Namwamba who is also under Ruto’s payroll has backed Eugene’s bid saying he’s the most suitable candidate to defeat Sonko and Kidero.
Meanwhile Eugene’s project is still causing trouble in the Jubilee coalition with a Jubilee youth group dubbed Nairobi youth patriots terming the project as a waste of time and money by Ruto.
In a statement the group says the CS is being endorsed and forced down the throats of people of Nairobi by Ruto and they say they are opposed to a leader being imposed on the people of Nairobi without consulting the leaders and the electorate living and residing in the City.
“We are warning that should the same persist, we shall mobilize our support base to reject Wamalwa and his god-father in Nairobi. There are enough mothers in Nairobi who have given birth to men and women of integrity capable of leading in the Capital city. We cannot accept blind endorsement from outsiders.” said the statement by Jubilee youth.
