Well, if there is any politician whose suppport base has grown over the last one year it is Governor Hassan Ali Joho. The ODM deputy party leader was part of the team fresh that successfully run and won most ODM top seats. His team back then included estranged Secretary General Ababu Namwamba and Turkana governor H.E Nanok.
Governor has been steadfast in articulating issues afflicting Coastal region and has extended his clamour for justice to the Northern flontier Districts (inhabited by mainly Muslim communities -The Somali, Gabra, Rendile, Borana.
In his quest to be president, Governor Joho has a backing of two regions with a cool 10 counties that include Mombasa, Kwale, Kilifi, Lamu, Tana River, Taita Taveta,Mandera, Wajir, Isiolo, Marsabit.
For one to be president he or she must win atleast 24 of the 27 counties, Governor Joho is guaranteed already without even starting a campain 10 counties, this is stronger starting point than Mudavadi, Kalonzo, and Ruto.
The Muslim community that spreads accross the country right from the heart of Mt Kenya in Nyeri to Barack Obama’s ancestral home of Kogero will defintely back Joho
The Muslim community in Kenya will back Mombasa Governor Hassan for President in 2022.
Suna East MP Junet Mohamed yesterday said “Joho is the undisputed Muslim leader and has shown the leadership, determination and courage to snatch the most coveted seat away from Jubilee.
“The Muslims in Kenya have been marginalised for over 50 years. Joho will become the Malcolm X or Martin Luther King Junior in championing the rights of Muslims,” he told the Star on the phone.
Malcolm X was the African-American leader and prominent figure in the Nation of Islam who articulated concepts of race pride and black nationalism in the 1950s and ’60s.
Martin Luther King Jnr was one of the 20th century’s best-known advocates for non-violent social change.
Joho has impressed many ODM supporters with his support for party leader Raila Odinga and the Orange party. Apart from spending his own cash, the ODM deputy leader has remained consistent in his opposition to President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Jubilee administration.
