A fracas threatened to mar Jubilee interim elections in Nakuru on Tuesday after aspirants differed on the criteria used to select 19 officials to head the party in the county.
One camp wanted the officials to be picked from every constituency, while the other wanted them to be selected from the Gikuyu, Embu, Meru Association (Gema) and Kalenjin, Maasai, Turkana and Samburu Association (Kamatusa).
The second group argued that the criteria would assure every community had a person representing them.
But the first camp opposed this, saying it would propagate hatred and animosity among residents.
At one point, the meeting came to a standstill as aspirants threatened to exchange kicks and blows.
