WHY Edwin Sifuna Will DEFEAT Jubilee’s Sakaja Johnson for Nairobi Senate Seat

My candidate for Nairobi Senate is Edwin Sifuna, High Court of Kenya advocate . Wakili is competing against former TNA nominated MP Johnson Sakaja.

Wakili Sifuna is a fighter and Nairobi needs a fighter in Senate, and out of it. Sifuna understands boardroom politics, and street politics. And ‘rule of law’ politics.

Born and lives here in Nairobi. Currently running a successful law firm in less than 10 years since graduating from Law School.

Sifuna understands the struggles of every young person in making ends meet; whether as a cleaner, a waitress, an intern, a professional on low paying job, or jobless, or tarmacking etc.

Sifuna is one of us and will prioritize our aspirational needs.

Johnson Sakaja is not. How do I know this? Because after four years as MP, Sakaja spent most of his time supporting the political system that has led to the worst joblessness and ripoff in a generation.

He has no record for fighting for youths. He sponsored a bill on unemployment; which became an Act, but which cannot be effected into human reality.

How do we know this? Because the other day we saw Chinese doing ticketing for SGR. We saw Chinese manning queues and using broken Kiswahili and tattered English barking orders left right and centre to Kenyan joyriders.

Why is this wrong? Because the centre-piece of Sakaja’s Bill (now an Act) was to ensure a data base of jobless youths from where jobless young Kenyans could get jobs like ticketing!

And if young people here must now competing with Chinese for such mundane jobs, how is the young Engineer graduating from JKUAT supposed to become an SGR executive? What about the young accountant. The young marketer. Or freshly trained receptionist from Nairobi Aviation?

And how/why do we blame Sakaja for that? Because he was among the guests/joyriders in the first “Lunatic II” maiden trip and the oddity of Chinese taking over jobs for young Kenyans didn’t even hit him.

Removed from the reality of every day struggles of young people; Johnson Sakaja cannot and will not fight for you, and us.

Sakaja, in the end, is merely a Jubilee flower girl (complete with a big ass).

Sifuna will immediately embark on questioning employment policies/processes in the public service sector that keep young people away from the future.

Sifuna will force – so be it – changes in public sector policies. Sifuna will advocate for fairer systems. And Sifuna can be loud about such things. And we need a loud Senator in Nairobi. To fight for us. To win for us.

So I’m voting Sifuna in August because he is a disruptor of status quo. And here in Nairobi, we need the quo to lose its status!

He will legislate for us. He will oversight for us. He will represent us.

Johnson Sakaja’s legislative history is poor. His public oversight record is pathetic. In the last five years, he represented the interests of the powerful more than those of the powerless.

For a safer ride into the future and sure arrival, Sifuna for me.
