PHOTOS: Raila given SUPER RECEPTION in Kisii, thousands line up to see Peoples’ President

Hardly 12 hours had elapsed since Kisii delegation that visited DP William Ruto’s home in Sugoi Eldoret returned with brown envelopes when CORD Leader and Peoples president Raila Odinga received a super warm reception in the Gusii capital.

Business in the fastest growing town in Western Kenya came to a stand still as residents forced his motorcade to stop demanding an address by the former prime minister.

The Cord leader Raila Odinga in his speech dismissed delegations to top leader’s homes to beg for development for the people.

“The era when people used to lead delegations to top leaders to beg for development have been passed by events. Kenyans have a right to demand for the same under the new dispensation,” Odinga said.

“We will not accept the reintroduction of imperial president in our country,” He added.

He said that the new constitution gave Kenyans powers to demand for services from the top leaders and not by begging.

The opposition chief said that if there is need for requests, then people should visit the President at State House or his deputy in his office and not vice versa.

Raila urged Kenyans to demand an explanation on how the government spent Sh140 billion Eurobond cash.

He said that he has been raising the red flag over corruption in the government but its leadership has been dismissing him.

“I told the government that corruption was live at the NYS but it did not take me serious but finally Cabinet Secretary in charge resigned after pressure mounted from Kenyans. The same is going to happen with the Eurobond,”he said.
