Police net sh. 400,000 bhang in Migori, said to belong to local MP

Police in Migori have netted contraband bhang which locals believe belong to a local MP of the county. The cannabis, stacked in three sacks, has street value of sh 400,000 according to the police.

Migori county Administrative Police commander Mr.Peter Wasilu  said the police  were on patrol at 3am  when they met the  vehicle which was ferrying the bhang along Ogwedhi -Awendo highway  and they managed
to seize the vehicle carrying the bhang  though  suspect who were in the vehicle managed to escape.

The vehicle, number plate KBW 092O, which was being used to ferry the bhang has been expounded. It is believed the bhang originated from neighbouring Tanzania, where it is legal, to Kenya.
