NAKURU VIOLENCE IS TESTIMONY THAT JUBILEE IS FLIRTING WITH DISASTER
This is the new normal. Each CORD rally is met by sheer police brutality and dead bodies while illegal Jubilee invasions ~ they cannot be rallies because the organizers never seek permits ~ are met by a loud silence from law enforcement officers. It’s as if the state sanctions the invasions.
Just a few days ago, some sabre rattling Jubilee leaders, in a blatant show of anarchy, led a rowdy militia through the city, all the way to the private offices of the Prime minister and dumped an effigy ostensibly to bemoan CORD’s legal picketing.
The bloodthirsty militia were clearly spoiling for war but they were no match for the experienced statesmanship of the ENIGMA. They would later leave the premises with the proverbial eggs on their faces.
As if that’s not enough, they decided to tail-gate the PM’s motorcade in Nakuru and pitched camp at the venue where CORD leaders were gathered. Fully aware that they had the blessings of Nakuru’s officialdom, they proceeded to harangue and taunt CORD supporters but the able CORDSHIAN faithful were not having it!
The rally went on. This is the kind of selective law enforcement that Jubilee is presiding over. And since the national security apparatus is playing blind while innocent Kenyans are being shot at in Kisumu and its environs, its clear that Jubilee has ditched modus vivendi and adopted selective law enforcement as its modus operandi.
How then can a government thus skewed in its application of the rule of law be trusted to uphold the Constitution? How can one justify the shooting of a young baby boy in Kisumu? How can utumishi kwa wote be trusted if kazi yao ni kutumikia serikali kwa kunyanyasa wanainchi?
A beleaguered Wanjiku cannot be blamed for taking matters into her own hands. After all, her ‘government’ checked out on her the moment it’s leading duo took the oath of office! We can’t preach peace when its convenient for us and then turn a blind eye when our neighbor is being shot at by police. It doesn’t work like that. What happened to these words: “natukae na undugu, amani na Uhuru…..?”
