HOW Raila SHOULD HANDLE the Resignation of Ababu Namwamba, Let the Luo take BACK SEAT

ODM RESIGNATIONS

By Jackson Omondi

This is the most critical stage in disaster management. How ODM handles this will determine the direction of the Party and will shape public perception.

A simple statement from the party leadership should be enough. However, this statement MUST NOT be made by someone from luo Nyanza because that’s the picture that the Ababu-Otuoma axis is loudly trying to paint. The statement must be issued by either Governor Hassan Joho or Oparanya.

ODM is a national Party but its clear that Ababu is playing the ‘Luo card’ on his way out. He really wants to paint the party as a luo outfit that doesn’t entertain contribution or services from other communities. And on this effort, Mbadi is their weapon of choice.

Lastly, Ababu’s departure has the capacity of ballooning into something larger than the man himself should ODM’s rank and file decide to gloat over his departure.

Now that he is gone, its incumbent on the members to refrain from name calling, taunting, humiliation and sabre rattling. Remember, all that will make him larger than life.

Make him a political footnote and watch him disappear into the thin air.
