Wajir’s Jubilee Gurbanatorial aspirant sourounded by degree controversy

The campaign team of Wajir County Gubernatorial hopeful on Jubilee Alliance ticket Ambassador Mohamed Abdi Mohamud has been hit by controversy over his degree certificate with critics alleging he does not have a legitimate university degree.

The team is currently reported to be on panic mode and in disarray with fears of his disqualification by the IEBC just months to the general elections.
Amb Mohamud, who was only politically appointed as Kenya’s ambassador to Saudi Arabia, is said to have only possessed a primary school teaching certificate before joining politics in 1997. Since then, there has been no information of him ever pursuing further studies or joining any University to pursue a Bachelors degree.

Some critics argue that Ambassador Mohamud has two degrees, one from an Indian university and another from Kenyatta University and that both are not genuine. It is also not clear whether the Ambassador completed his secondary education.

The Ambassador, unlike the other aspirants in the race, is likely to face rough moments ahead with IEBC determined to disqualify non Degree holders from the forthcoming elections on August 8th.
Incumbent Wajir Governor and an ODM candidate, H.E Ahmed Abdullahi went to Starehe Boys Centre and scored an A- and has a degree from University of Nairobi and a Masters Degree from Strathmore University.

PDR’s candidate Hon. Ahmed Muhumud went to Wajir High school, scored good grades and has both a Bachelors and Masters degrees from Moi University and JKUAT respectively.
The other candidate Hon. Salah Abdi Shiekh also went to Starehe Boys Center and has a Bachelors Degree from University of Nairobi.
The questions in the streets of Wajir are: which high school did the Ambassador attend? What did he score? Which university did he go to? And what type of degree was he awarded?
