Police in Nairobi are looking for a man going by the name Kelvin Obondo Odhiambo (pictured) who has been masquerading as Prof. Peter Anyang’ Nyong’o’s son and conning unsuspecting job-seekers.
Already, Prof Nyong’o has distanced himself with the man, saying he represents the poorest of what being a man and a Luo should symbolize.
“My children are known and don’t need introductions. This man cannot be my son whatsoever,” Nyong’o is quoted as having said when reporting the matter to Parklands Police Station.
The man conned two women sh60,000 promising to land them a job in the ministry of health. He claimed the Human Resource Manager in the ministry was appointed to his position by ‘his father’ – Prof. Nyong’o – when he served as minister. In a country where job desperation lead people to buy their way up, the man was able to credibly present himself as a ‘contact’.
Anyone with information which can lead to the arrest of the man should share with parklands police station or the nearest police station.
