After a zombified performance on one of Kenya’s most popular talk show, Jeff Koinange Live, lawyer Donald B Kipkorir has all but regrets. He has sworn never to appear on TV again. This is how he announced his departure.
Last night, I appeared on #JKL Live on KTN for debate with my friend Ahmednasir Abdullahi, moderated by Jeff Koinange… It was my first time on tv show in over twenty years and the only second time. I realized that tv debate in Kenya isn’t meant to make cogent and foundational arguments as time isn’t provided for. Many expected us to fight but because we didn’t , some were disappointed. People like brawling on tv. I take consolation that people like Franklin D Roosevelt, America’s greatest President hardly appeared on tv. Others like Tiger Woods, Warren Buffet and Julia Roberts are very successful though they have fear of and don’t appear on tv talk shows. Yesterday was my first and last time on tv show and any media interview. Let tv shows be left to people who can shout or raise voices. We are all gifted differently, and appearing on tv is not one of mine.
