Of Ezekiel Mutua’s BRAGGADOCIO, Social Media, ”CORRUPT’ and the Immigration Department

Of Ezekie Mutua’s braggadocio and the Immigration Department order to have him surrender diplomatic passport..
A story is told of how a crow almost died in the highlands in a rainy afternoon. The cold was too much.

Luckily, a cow passing by popped on him saving him from an imminent death. The crow feeling the warm started shouting and singing on top of his voice. A Fox passing by heard the noise and mercilessly fed on him.

Ezekiel Mutua is no different from that crow. With all the several enemies he has earned himself, especially with the media, he still has the audacity to keep mocking and disparaging those against his hard controversies stances.

Even in deep shit, the temporal warmth makes him excited that he can not keep quiet. If he observed silence, no one would have bothered him.

The latest news?

The Department of Immigration has revealed Mutua acquired the passport while working under Foreign Affairs in 2013. He should have returned it long ago to get an ordinary one. He has been ordered to surrender it to the nearest Huduma Center.

Hon Koigi: Buriani Yangu Kwa aliyekuwa Mwanahabari Citizen Radio Marehemu Waweru Mburu.

Mheshimiwa Koigi Wa Wamwere

Mungu hamsahau mja wake mwema. Inshallah.

…All Roads Lead to Kisumu this weekend for Governor Joho’s GRAND RALLY, #Mobilizing4Raila2017

PRESS STATEMENT; SEPTEMBER 27TH 2016:
ODM WEEKEND ENGAGEMENT WITH KENYANS:

I wish to announce that this weekend, I will lead a team to Kisumu County for a two day visit where I will meet party delegates, meet ODM MCAs and conduct a roadshows through the city.

These will culminate in a mega rally in the city on Saturday where we will be joined by our Party Leader Rt. Hon Raila Amolo Odinga. At this rally, Kisumu County will declare its political stand on the 2017 contest.

The weekend’s activities, along with others that are going on, are not for fun but are part of our mission and duty as a party to educate our supporters and Kenyans in general on why Jubilee must not get another term in office.

The reasons Jubilee must not get another term are pretty clear. Jubilee does not deserve a second term because of its deliberate policy of economic sabotage. Jubilee is pursuing a deliberate policy of impoverishing communities and regions that it perceives to be non-supportive.

Jubilee has divided the country down the middle, between supporters and non-supporters. In the last four years, appointments and services have gone only go to Jubilee supporters, real or imagined.
No regime has been as exclusive and divisive like this one. Even their new logo—Uhuru and Ruto holding hands—shows it is about two people and their communities. But even those communities are beginning to realize they are being used for individual gains by the leaders. They are asking questions.

Jubilee has spent the last four years fighting to destroy everything the people want: Fighting devolution, fighting the Constitution, fighting the TJRC report.

In the process, they are stealing from the people and making new promises. Corruption has reached levels never seen before even in our worst years. The President is unaware of what Kenyans are going through. If he is aware, then he does not care. That is why he does not understand why other people are not eating meat while he does.

Kenyans, especially they youth, are looking for opportunity, jobs, security, food, better standards of living and affordable life.
People at the Coast are looking for land they can call their own. And they are looking for justice over long running historical injustices. They are looking for a role in the institutions in their part of the country, which they have been denied. The Port is moving to a different part of the country through a policy that remains not too well disguised. That is economic sabotage.

Many Kenyans feel they have been abandoned and are struggling alone.

In the middle of all these, regime Kenyans entrusted to make things work is instead making new promises on top of the old.

Devolution, which was to open up opportunities by taking resources to the people is being fought everywhere across the country.

The various dealings between the Jubilee Administration and the Chinese now sees cheap fish imported into the local market at the expense of fishermen not just in Kisumu County, but the entire Lake Basin region. That is economic sabotage.

Rice is being imported from Pakistan in exchange for tea exports.

That is economic sabotage.

It is for this reason that we take it as a duty to our nation to educate Kenyans that the Jubilee Government cannot be allowed another five years. The country is tired and a yearning for something new and better, for a more caring and humane leadership. The truth is, things will not get better under Jubilee.

A regime that does not fulfill its first term promises will not improve and will not care in the second term.

The only way to make things get better is to reject Jubilee’s new promises and vote it out resoundingly next year.

The race to retire Jubilee is on.

Tukutane Kisumu.

Trust Raila, He Will FIX THE ECONOMY and Make Kenya GREAT

TRUST RAILA, HE WILL FIX THE ECONOMY
bY
It is a fact that when politicians speak, they do it either to gain political mileage or irritate their opponents. However, there is one man who has stood out differently from the rest of the pack. Raila Amolo Odinga, a seasoned politician and the man who says it as is.

The 2007 vote was widely believed to be heavily-rigged on both sides, but more so in favor of the incumbent Mwai Kibaki—Odinga had a 1 million vote lead once counting began the day after the vote, but this had suspiciously evaporated just one day later. Kibaki was eventually declared the winner by a slender margin of around 2 percent and shamelessly took oath of office at night. A U.S. government-funded exit poll released in July 2008 showed that Odinga actually won by 6 percentage points.

Mr. Odinga has been cheated out of the Kenyan presidency on two occasions. A fact the international community agrees with.

For Odinga, wholesale change at the IEBC is necessary to avoid the controversy that followed Kenya’s 2007 elections, when allegations of rigging led to months of deadly ethnic violence. “We want this electoral commission to be removed and replaced with people of integrity,”

He has agitated for a thorough clean-up of the voter register and enfranchising each and every Kenyan of voting age to register ahead of the August 2017 polls. It is not for selfishness that he wants this to happen, it is for the good of Kenya and ensure fairness in the electoral process.

The ODM leader was a key part of developing Kenya Vision 2030—a development program, promulgated in 2008, that aims to transform Kenya into a middle-income economy by 2030 during his tenure as Prime Minister. As such, he has a “clear blueprint” to transform Kenya’s economy.

When Jubilee took over power in 2013, they had promised to put mechanisms in place to grow the country’s GDP from single to double digit.

Todate, the country’s economy is still at 4.2%. Kenya’s youth unemployment is estimated to be around 17.4 percent—some put it as high as 35 percent and believe that 80 percent of unemployed Kenyans are under 35 years old.
Raila believes he can fix this problem and create more jobs for the youth, fix the economy and set Kenya to the right path of development.

He set a solid foundation of infrastructure in 2003 when he was minister for Roads and Public Works. Today, we traffic congestion has been reduced on the main highway that passes through the city Centre.
That is why Raila Odinga means what he says.

HOW Hilary Clinton WON DEBATE Against Donald Trump

DECISION 2016: PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE EDITION
By Jackson Omondi
The first presidential debate is in the books and before we declare a winner, first let’s look at tonight’s showdown through the eyes of those who run the campaigns, the messaging consultants, the wordsmiths and the image makers who were responsible for what you saw tonight.

Let’s look at what they set out to achieve going in and then with the benefit of hindsight, gauge the candidate’s performance.

For Team Clinton, this was an opportunity to reinforce what everyone and their mother knows – Clinton’s superiority and depth on policy minutiae and experience.

And for those calling the shots on the political right, the goal was to showcase a calm, collected and more presidential Donald Trump.

But when the obligatory niceties sublimed, both campaigns saw what neither camp had prepared for.

The Clinton camp ran through hardcore mock sessions of the Lewinsky scandal renditions, Gennifer Flowers saga and many more episodes of a more reserved (read presidential) Trump. The Trump camp had a much rougher stretch dealing with a candidate who did almost nothing in the name of rehearsal but was showing signs of restraint and had adopted the campaign’s counsel of reading prepared remarks and speeches from the teleprompter.
Their hope, going in, was that the Donald was going to be the new Donald.

From a consultant’s vantage point, each point, policy proposal or talking point is designed to target a specific voting bloc. Naturally, the campaigns go for groups that their polling shows that they are struggling with, but the biggest prize during the debates are independents who make up at least 10% of the voters in a country that’s divided along partisan lines of 45% GOP and 45% Democratic.

So for perspective, both campaigns had those groups and numbers in mind.
Then the questioning started.

Current polling shows that Trump is badly trailing Clinton among women, a constituency that no Democratic presidential candidate has won in decades and no Republican presidential candidate has ever won without winning in this category. Team Trump had hoped that Trump would practice more restraint in his showdown with Clinton, but what they saw was the old Republican presidential primary Trump who interrupted and cut off his opponents in the primaries.

Legions of women watching the contest will also weigh in on the manner in which he handled his opponent. Trump’s verbiage on women will also be a topic for litigation in the public domain. Reference to “looks” and “stamina” were clear dog whistle rhetoric that left his messaging team scratching their heads.

On poise, Trump appeared to ditch his new found mien of a calm and collected guy and opted to go nuclear on a day that most Americans were expecting to see a presidential figure.

In presidential debates, sometimes, moments do matter more than words, what a candidate does can be worth more than a million dollars. Hillary’s shrug and disgust at Trump’s belabored “temperament” defense coupled with the collective laughter from the audience, was an instant fact-checking moment that rendered Trump’s explanation comical and potentially fatal. Nothing is more devastating than being considered a joke when one is really trying so hard to defend himself.

Both campaigns were hoping to reassure voters that their candidate has the knowledge and grasp of basic facts about U.S. foreign policy, economics, national security and other domestic issues.

On this one, Clinton’s attempts to explain specific policy proposals were rudely interrupted by Trump to a point where she couldn’t put a word in. And when she did, Trump’s went vintage, giving broad stump speech, boilerplate Republican ideas about cutting taxes, gun rights, less strict rules on environment and more Reaganomics but offered zero specifics on how he intends to get them done.

Reaganomics and gun lobby rights are primary campaign talking points but are hardly general election materials.
Fully aware that over 100 million registered voters were watching the debate, Clinton’s experience kicked and she sought to reassure key US allies that under her watch, the U.S. will honor her responsibilities around the world. And with this move, she bagged another voting bloc that has been elusive to the Donald: college educated voters. Most general election exit polls have shown that most college educated voters normally break for the Republican but the numbers this year are favoring the Democratic candidate.

Another moment that must have been tough to watch(for the Trump brain trust) was the african american issue and especially Trump’s explanation of his long held position that Obama was not born in the United States. Trump anchored his political career on Obama’s birth certificate issue and Hillary’s indictment and prosecution of the issue was devastating because it reminded the very voters (blacks), whose support Trump sorely needs to turn a few purple States red in order to win, that the man who was standing next to Hillary on the debate stage, began his political career on a hate platform. The 1970s discrimination case was the dagger.

Hillary’s shaky moment came when the Donald went nuclear on her and it was clear that she didn’t prepare for an aggressive and bilious Donald Trump. But she regained her footing as the debate went on. Honestly, no political strategist expected this Donald to show up, not with the current stakes and the gigantic audience. This was the time to demonstrate poise, composure, temperament and judgement to lead the free world. But the Donald gave the world a throwback.

As the night went on, Hillary’s oneliners got more crispier and devastating. And none was more powerful than the response to the attack on her stamina where she turned an attack into a strength by parading her trips (112 trips) overseas as Secretary of State and the infamous 11-hour testimony to marauding Republican congressmen out to wear out a woman just because they didn’t like her. Her approval ratings went high after that episode.

Independent voters will likely stay with Hillary since most of them go with poise, ideas and temperament.
Do you still want to know who won the DEBATE?

.in Kajiado CS Nkaissery was HUMILIATED, FORCED to FREE by Masai voters for Campaigning for Uhuru

By KURGAT MARINDANY, @kmarindany

David Nkedianye’s supporters booed Interior CS Joseph Nkaissery on Saturday after he said the Kajiado Governor will not be reelected unless he defects to Jubilee Party.

Nkaissery, who had attended the crowning of the Arroi location chief, ended his speech after the group became uncontrollable.

His voice was drowned by noises from the youths as he urged them to respect and listen to him as an elder.

The group, calling itself ‘Narresho Fundamentalists’, had threatened to disrupt the entire ceremony before the CS left in a huff.

They did not listen to him and claimed he disrespected their Governor by saying he would lose the seat by 10 am on election day.

Arroi location turned unfamiliar for Nkaissery who has never met such opposition since his appointment as Interior CS.

The location was once in Kajiado Central constituency but was moved to Kajiado East ahead of the 2013 general elections.

The residents had earlier blocked alternative routes to the location in protest against the poor condition of roads in the area.

They only left the route to Arroi along Sultan Hamud/Mashuuru road, which is in poor state.

The residents closed the other routes so that Nkaissery would be compelled to use the damaged road.

The CS has been urging the people of Kajiado to vote for President Uhuru Kenyatta and had made public pronouncements on his pride in being a Jubilee member.

But some 156 leaders from the constituency defected from Jubilee to ODM on Friday.

Among them was Benjamin Malit, who shot to the limelight after standing by Kajiado East MP Peris Tobiko in 2013.

Malit shocked a public rally in Arroi when he tore a photo of Tobiko into small pieces and swore to never partner with Jubilee.

He said he broke ranks with Tobiko because she refused to heed his advice on various issues he did not specify

The MP was received by ODM national elections board chairperson Judy Pareno and county ODM chairman Kakuta Maimai.

Nkedianye, Nkaissery who once served as Kajiado Central MP and two MCAs from Kajiado West constituency were elected through ODM.

The current ongoings indicate residents may change the ruling party’s fortunes in the 2017 poll.

During the Arroi public rally, speaker after speaker raised the issue of who should succeed the late William Ntimama as Maa community spokesman.

Most of those who spoke indicated they would propose Nkedianye. NKaissery was among those tipped to take the position.

HOW DP Ruto was HUMILIATED in USA, THROWN OUT OF a New York Hotel

The Kenyan Weekly Team

Deputy President William Ruto was involved in a nasty hotel drama in New York in what was his first visit to the US since Jubilee’s controversial electoral victory in 2013.

The Kenyan Weekly has established that Ruto was booked at the luxurious InterContinental New York Times Square, a towering and iconic 36-story hotel, during the week–long United Nations General Assembly.

But the DP and the Kenyan protocol team domiciled at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs fell out with the hotel management in what is likely to trigger a fresh diplomatic row.

Kenya and the US had a troubled relationship following the election of Ruto and his boss, President Uhuru Kenyatta, after the Western superpower publicly warned against the election of ICC indictees.

A highly-placed source said a furious Ruto ordered the protocol team to identify for him another hotel, plunging the Kenyan team into a crisis as most lavish hotels are almost fully booked.

The United Nations was hosting over 190 Heads of State, apart from other high–flying state officials.
In fact, an online spot-check by The Kenyan Weekly indicated that New York hotels were 76 per cent booked with the prices skyrocketing due to the crazy demand.

Troubled started when the hotel management asked for fresh search on all guests and rooms before US vice president Joe Biden walked in.

Biden, President Obama’s second in command was also booked into the prestigious skyscraper.

According to the hotel, the search was a normal security check because of heightened terror threat in the country.

“The protocol team pleaded to be exempted but they [management] was adamant. They said only Heads of State were exempt from the search. But an agitated Ruto could hear none of it,” the source said.

Foreign Affairs Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohamed made frantic efforts to reach her US counterparts but no help was on sight.

Eventually, the Kenyan team, including Ruto stormed out of the hotel in protest.

It is understood that Amina has already dispatched a protest note to the US government for what they term “mistreatment” of the country’s DP.
It’s not clear whether Kenya was refunded the money paid to the hotel.

However, one night costs a staggering sh239, 500 in one of the luxury rooms they term as “King Bed Manhattan suite.”

The US has been on high alert because of increased terror threats.

On Sunday last week, there was a bombing incident in New York’s Chelsea neighbourhood that injured 29 at the start of the United Nations General Assembly.

The New York trip which was dampened by the hotel altercation was the first trip by Ruto to the US after the ICC dropped his crimes against humanity charges on 5 April, 2016.

Previously Ruto only visited China and Middle East countries as they bashed the West for what they termed as neo–colonisation for supporting the ICC charges.

Initially, it was Uhuru who was scheduled to travel to New York and his advance team had left for the UN General Assembly –– the last for both Obama and UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon.

No reason has been given by State House for Uhuru decision to skip the Assembly, but ironically he has been in Nairobi campaigning for his Jubilee candidates Mike Sonko and Johnson Sakaja for the Nairobi gubernatorial seat.

However, on Monday, White House said Obama had a telephone discussion with him and emphasised the importance of “peaceful, free and fair elections” in 2017.

“The President reiterated the importance of peaceful, free, and fair elections in Kenya in 2017 and his desire to continue our strong partnership with Kenya on a range of issues, including the effort to deliver a lasting defeat to al-Shabaab in Somalia,” read a communiqué on the White House website.

Opposition leaders led by Raila Odinga had petitioned Obama in his historic visit to Kenya to support their push for electoral reforms and pressure Jubilee leadership to arrest run-away corruption in government; and rampant insecurity in the country.

This story appeared in Print on our 44th Edition of the TheKenyanweekly now in circulation.

HOW STATEHOUSE Operatives are PLANNING to SABOTAGE Raila’s Rally in Narok.

STATE PLANS TO SABOTAGE RAILA NAROK RALLY COME A CROPPER
By P Wesonga
When he was summoned to State House Nairobi for a brief nothing could have prepared Governor Samuel Kuntai Ole Tunai for the serious tongue lashing he was due received from President Uhuru Kenyatta

Governor Tunai was told in no uncertain terms that he was being held responsible for the dwindling fortunes of Jubilee among the Maa community. The president was angry that ODM Party Leader Raila Odinga was making substantial inroads into Narok and Tunai and other senior Jubilee leaders in the county were doing nothing to stop the ODM wave.

Matters were not helped by the fact the President was not well received at Narok during the recent funeral of the late Maasai kingpin William Ole Ntimama. To add insult to injury ODM leader Raila Odinga had received high profile Jubilee defectors from Narok led by former PS Joseph Tiampati.

Sources said that during the heated meeting at State House, Governor Tunai was threatened that his anti-corruption cases would be ressurected unless he proved his worth to JAP leaders. Last year the Govenor Tunai was cleared of corruption charges by the Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission (EACC).

Keriako Tobiko, the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) had ordered the investigations on Tunai in June of 2015. The investigations focused on Tunai’s alleged financial, procurement and human resource irregularities and centered improprieties on hire of helicopters, the Mara triangle revenue collection and procurement of Kenya Airports Parking Services Ltd. The three cases were dropped for a lack of evidence, but as he left State House Governor Tunai was told these cases would be revived and evidence would be tabled to the DPP.

Governor Tunai was then ordered to return to Narok and sell JAP. He was offered an unlimited budget to ensure that Maasais troop back to Jubilee, something that the Governor is presently finding very hard to attain.

In what amounts to discarding his gubernatorial duties to be a fully fledged Jubilee campaigner, Governor Tunai has today organised a major rally in Narok Majengo area where he also opened a refurbished Jubilee party office. But even after paying Sh.200/- each to boda boda rider of Narok, and 500/- to youth around the county to attend the rally does not seem to have excited the local residents who are eargely awaiting CORD leader Raila Odinga rally scheduled for Narok on Thursday this week.

I WILL NEVER LEAVE ODM, I am ready to resume my duty as Vice Chair- Hon Otuoma

Funyula MP Paul Otuoma has said he will not leave ODM for any party.

Otuoma, John Waluke (Sirisia) and Budalangi Mp Ababu Namwamba had resigned from ODM claiming they were “frustrated” by the party’s leadership.

It had been said the three were behind the ‘mulembe consciousness’ movement aimed at uniting Western residents and securing their place in politics.

“I am one of the founder member of ODM party. I cannot quit when almost all of our grievances have been met ranging from devolution to IEBC,” Otuoma said on Saturday.

The Funyula MP said he reached the decision after consulting with party leader Raila Odinga when they met on Friday.

“I am not leaving ODM and I am ready to retain my seat as the party’s vice chairman. I did not go anywhere,” Otuoma said in Siaya during the funeral of former Harambee Stars Assistant Coach James Siang’a.

He asked the party to discipline rebel MPs to restore peace.

“At times we need to solve some things at home. The rift in Budalangi and ODM should stop. If there is a fight in a household, it should be solved in the household,” he said.

On Thursday, Waluke and Otuoma skipped the launch of Ababu Namwamba’s Labour Party of Kenya.

Hello Ladies and Gentlemen who are Arsenal fans….

By Dennis Onyango
I wish to congratulate you and your team for beating Chelsea. That for sure was a huge feat!

I did not watch the match so I don’t know what happened: Chelsea is always expected to beat Arsenal comprehensively because that is how it is. It is the tradition. It is the norm. That is just how things are: Chelsea, the 2012 Champions of Europe are expected to beat Arsenal comprehensively.

But we live in a world where certain things defy logic. Only last weekend, some small team beat Barcelona at the Nou Camp. Who would believe that I did not watch the Arsenal V Chelsea match? Well, it can all happen when logic takes leave, expectations, norms, traditions become qualifications, when a goat bites a human and the fiction that is George Orwell’s animal farm is enacted in real life and pigs chase humans out of their farm!

But I want to posit that such stuff should happen in the world to enable us appreciate God better. It is a Sunday!
For example, why shouldn’t Arsenal also beat Chelsea occasionally? Isn’t Wenger a child of God? Aren’t the Arsenal players also children of God? are the multitudes of long suffering Arsenal fans children of a lesser God?
God loves us all and all of us whether talented as the Chelsea players or not talented, tall or dwarf, poor or rich, fat or thin, are all equal in the eyes of God.

I am unable to analyze what could have happened because I didn’t watch the match. I can’t explain why Hazard or Costa or Fabregas could not score. I can’t tell how Cahill, Terry, Luiz, Ivanovic, Azpilicueta and Courtois let Sanchez, Walcott and Ozil the chance to score.

But I understand that if the Arsenal family prayed hard, fasted, tithed and believed in God, the almighty must have given them the supernatural powers that he gave to David and Daniel of the Bible.

Someone like me who has been watching football for twenty years now knows that a league match is like a battle. Winning a battle is not the same thing as wining a war: you can ask Adolf Hitler if you ever meet him. Right now, Chelsea has similar or Perhaps better chances of winning the league than Arsenal.

Arsenal will still come to Stamford bridge this season. They beat us by three goals to nil in a match pundits tell me was dominated by Chelsea, a fact that underscores the fact that Arsenal’s unlikely victory was a modern day Davidian miracle!

I am not sure they will repeat that unlikely feat at Stamford bridge. All I am sure about is that on more than one occasion, Chelsea has beaten Arsenal by six goal margins. It can happen again, it will for sure happen again.
For now, I will let you celebrate, taunt and ridicule me and tag me as many times as you wish to those not so funny memes.
Happy weekend!

No doubt the political stature of Hon Abdul Jabar is rising faster. His influence in the larger Wajir county is raising eye brows especially among contenders for top positions of Governor, MPs, Senate and Women Rep.

Hon Abdul is extensive tour of Wajir county has helped to galvanise his support base- the youth and he is now considered a King-maker of sorts in the fast county where ODM has regained its foothold and likely to sweep clean most of the electoral positions.

Most of the politicians in the county want to associate with the young upcoming possible county CEO. Abdi Jabar hails from the largest community in Wajir county and his recent endorsement by the clan elders has earned a leg inside the county assembly of wajir long before the 2017 battle

Last week on Thursday Hon AbdulJabar held an exclusive meeting with Wajir governor Hon Ahmed Abdullahi in the company of respected opinion shapers from the community. It’s believed the governor requested for a possible coalition with the young influential Abdijabar who is eyeing Wagalla Ganyure MCA.

Uhuru Jubilee 2017 SECRET WEAPON can now be REVEALED!

FORGET THARAKA NITHI, DIASPORA VOTES SET TO BE JUBILEE’S NEW 50 PLUS ONE CLINCHER.
By Jackson Omondi
If you thought that the magical Tharaka Nithi votes were astonishing, wait until you see what Jubilee has in store for 2017!

Jubilee’s 2017 secret weapon can now be revealed. The Uhuru Kenyatta-appointed ambassadors will do the trick for Kenya’s struggling regime. In the United States for instance, former Uhuru Kenyatta’s Treasury colleague and personal pick for US ambassador Robinson Githae is set to play IEBC returning officer in the upcoming elections!

Picture that! An incumbent’s colleague and pliable poodle is set to play referee in a match that his boss is competing in and some folks are expected to believe that the competition will be free and fair!

First of all, Githae enjoys the full backing of the President and he serves at the pleasure of the President. How such a person is expected to play neutral is a case for neurologists!

To this day, diasporans have not seen any legal or formal exercise that qualifies to be labelled as a voter registration exercise. But they have heard rumours of registration in areas that are predominantly Jubilee-friendly!

There have been rumours of TNA ( JP) elders meeting in various zip codes in the diaspora with the aim of popularizing the President’s party. While it is okay for the President to seek support from all Kenyans around the world, it’s not in order for him to exploit government officials for selfish political interests.

The president is engaging in an all too familiar Jubilee trait of using taxpayers money for selfish political gains.

Until the opposition gets equal representation in all embassies and missions abroad, diaspora voting should remain work-in-progress for we cannot discern reality from chicanery.

How will CORD verify the numbers that Githae will submit to the IEBC on election day? With no agent in the diaspora to authenticate the numbers, Githae’s numbers will pass as ‘gospel’ and CORD will have no choice but to accept and move on.

Jubilee is lurching on to some undue advantage over competition and the people of Kenya should not allow them.
The status quo wants to steal but this time, they want to import theft and who better to do this than a handpicked personal friend!

BREAKING: Raila Moves to CAGE Uhuru by DEMANDING Implementation of TJRC Report

KWALE
SEPTEMBER 23, 2016
RAILA RENEWS CALLS FOR IMPLEMENTATION OF TJRC REPORT
Opposition Leader Raila Odinga, in his final day and rally in the four-day tour of Taita Taveta and Kwale counties, renewed his challenge to the Jubilee administration to summon courage and implement the recommendations of the Truth, Justice and Reconciliation report.

At a final rally in the region at Baraza Park in Kwale, the CORD leader said that in the county, and much of the Coast, the TJRC found evidence of three kinds of abuses including land dispossession, economic marginalization and massacres and extra judicial executions. Raila said TJRC recommended cures for the abuses to enable the country move forward.

On land abuses, the former Prime Minister said TJRC found that the ‘willing-buyer, willing-seller’ land tenure approach was grossly abused and is one of the major causes of disinheritance and landlessness, especially in the Coast.

Landlessness, he said, was found to be the major indicator of marginalization in the Coast, including Kwale adding that TJRC found that the original local inhabitants were dispossessed of their land, first by the colonialists, and later by fraudulent transactions that again ignored the original owners of the land.

He said that after independence, the dispossession of the local people was confirmed and certified instead of being rectified, which led to a palpable sense of a conspiracy against coastal communities.

He challenged Jubilee to implement TJRC recommendations including that the National Land Commission undertakes adjudication and registration exercises at the coast and all other areas where the same has not been conducted, that measures be designed to revoke illegally obtained titles to and re-open all public beaches, beach access routes and fish landing beaches, especially at the coast.

He said TJRC recommended that the National Land Commission in furtherance of its mandate expedites the process of addressing or recovering all irregularly and illegally acquired land and that the Ministry of Lands encourages individuals and entities to surrender illegally acquired land.

Raila said TJRC also recommended that the National Land Commission formulates and implements strict guidelines in terms of maximum acreage an individual or company can buy hold in respect of private land.

On marginalization, the CORD leader said TJRC found that evidence of government’s exclusionary economic policies and practices in the distribution of public jobs and services and this inflicted suffering on huge sections of society at different historical moments.

He said the Commission identified a number of regions as economically marginalized in the post-independence including former North Eastern, Nyanza; North Rift; Coast and Western provinces.
He said TJRC found that what was once called the Northern Frontier Districts, Nyanza and the Coast region could be placed in the category of ‘politically dissident’ regions that have suffered marginalization under successive regimes.

The Coast, he said, was especially marginalized through dispossession due to the confluence of interests arising from the region’s strategic value as a principal gateway to the country and the East and Central African region and its valued seafront land resources.

He said TJRC recommended that the Government take into account the history of economic marginalization of the region, in formulating relevant development policies, including in prioritizing crucial infrastructure development.

TJRC also asked the government formulate, adopt and implement a policy that deliberately targets the socio-economic development of historically marginalized regions identified by the Commission, Raila said, adding that such policy must include strategic development plans and budgetary allocations aimed at the economic and social development of marginalized communities.

The reparative actions, he said, must be over and above the provisions utilization of the Equalization Fund.

Raila said the TJRC specifically tasked the Government to consider actions such as building an efficient road networks linking marginalized areas with the rest of Kenya, building boreholes and water-catchment systems, building hospitals within reach of all communities, adequately stocked and well-staffed, schools with adequate facilities, courts of law, and to ensure that all government services and public facilities are available to them.

The Opposition leader said TJRC found that massacres have occurred throughout the history of Kenya, including in the Coast during the Giriama Rebellion. The report also documented accounts of police brutality and other kinds of mistreatment by the provincial administration, including extra-judicial killings, arrest and imprisonment of those who agitate for restitution, as well as the destruction of property and evictions of those who live off these lands with contested titles, Raila said.

He questioned the government’s failure to implement recommendations that victims of the massacres be provided with reparations, both individual and collective, within 36 months of the issuance of the Report.

He said TJRC also recommended the release of all minutes of the relevant District Security Committees, Provincial Security Committee, Kenya Intelligence Committee and National Security Council where these matters were discussed and the establishment of memorials at the sites of massacres.

“These were to be done within 24 months of release of the report. Four years later, the government is yet to table this report for debate. I am challenging Jubilee to tell Kenyans why it is sitting on this report. Kenyans want to close this dark chapter in their history and move on to other things,” Raila said.

Michael Mubea: The man State House has HIRED to tame Joho, Rutto and other rebel governors

Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission (EACC) Deputy CEO Michael Mubea has been directed by State House mandarins to frustrate a number of governors seen as a threat to the Jubilee regime 2017 equation, top among whom is Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho.

Mubea, who himself is implicated in a sh. 5.8 billion Anglo-leasing scandal where he allegedly colluded with former Swiss Ambassador Jacques Pitteloud to con Deepak Kamani, the prime suspect of the scam the above sum and save him from prosecution.

If this case is distant then you only have to turn to the bungling of the sh1.6 billion NYS scandal where Mubea and his hirelings at the EACC and Office of the President, including State House, have pulled all stops to ensure former devolution CS Anne Waiguru is not only prosecuted for the massive plunder she presided at NYS but also sanitised and readied for Kirinyaga County gubernatorial seat.

Kenya Today has been impeccably informed that Mubea is planning a series of damaging and highly publicized corruption charges against at least 10 governors who are in the bad books of State House and Jubilee top wankers.

Among these governors are Jubilee allied governors who are deemed out of the 2017 succession; Jubilee rebel governors who have announced their new parties as well as vocal opposition governors.

Names listed as under Mubea’s radar are Murang’a Governor Mwangi wa Iria, whose fall is being pushed by Kigumo MP Jamleck Kamau seen as the next series presidential material in case Mt. Kenya endorses Ruto for 2022. Kamau is a close confidant of President Uhuru and was among the most vocal in ‘destroying’ the credibility of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga during PM’s Question Time in parliament.

Kamau is aligning himself with Ruto and is among the most outspoken supporters of Mt. Kenya keeping its bargain with Rift Valley.

To achieve this, Mwangi wa Iria, the current Murang’a governor, despite his sterling record at service delivery including making Murang’a the ‘milk capital’ of Kenya has faced the most relentless purge from EACC.

Isaac Rutto

Cutting Isaac Rutto down to size is meant to consolidate the South Rift and ensure a smooth sail for the Jubilee candidate. Governor Rutto, the first Council of Governors Chair gave Jubilee problems with his insistence on strengthening devolution.

Much of the success of the devolved system, when history is written, will be credited Isaac Rutto’s as the visionary who kept JAP reactionaries at bay and took the very war to salvage devolution to Uhuru’s doorstep in a manner no other governor has done.

Governor Rutto championed for increased funding of the devolved units and relinquishing of assets to the counties. The national government still holds billions in assets that should be controlled by counties especially in the areas of health, water, sewerage, roads, and education.

So strained was his relationship with the Jubilee regime that at a meeting of Jubilee coalition governors he was informed in no uncertain terms that he will not get the URP ticket for the next polls. URP Leader and ‘’de facto’’ Kalenjin kingpin Deputy President William Rutto already started grooming former Konoin MP Julius Kones and Deputy Speaker and Sotik MP Joyce Laboso.

As a result of these frustrations, Isaac Rutto has formed Chama Cha Mashinani which is increasingly gaining inroads in other parts of the country. Already, Isiolo Deputy Speaker Mohammed Guleid has revealed he will seek to oust current governor on CCM ticket. A number of gubernatorial aspirants in Luo Nyanza are also said to be attracted by the party.

Hassan Joho

Perhaps, the most frustrated governor in Kenya by the Jubilee regime has been the Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho.

Joho’s run ins with the Jubilee regime started soon after he was elected with an election petition that dragged up to the supreme court. As this was going on; pro-jubilee “activists” Silas Otuke and Janet Mbete also sued the governor claiming his academic papers were forged. Both cases were thrown out by the courts.

Early this year, the government yet again picked another war with Joho now involving his firearm which the government claimed he was “unfit” to have. The highly publicized case ended abruptly in the public sphere as the government was left with a rotten egg in their faces when the courts found out the regime was acting arbitrarily and unconstitutionally in attempting to withdraw Joho’s firearm.

Hidden from these public confrontations was the resource allocation battle where Mombasa County has always been the last to get county funds from the national exchequer. This culminated in workers striking in 2013.

However, despite all these, the Mombasa Governor Star has risen with massive support from both his constituents in Mombasa and a loyal ODM base that’s given him a national platform with cult-like admiration.

Seen as the heir-apparent to the ODM political machine, Joho and Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya joint ticket for 2022 has alarmed Jubilee which had all along kept its 2022 transition politics the talk of town.

An NIS report allegedly informed the government that the Mombasa Governor is likely to win in an election pitting him with any Jubilee combination where he runs against DP Ruto in 2022.

The report suggested the Jubilee (government) to convince at least three critical coastal counties to have its leadership aligned to Jubilee fully or partially ahead of 2017 and 2022 elections, but particularly 2022.

This is how Jubilee bought Kwale Governor Salim Mvurya. The regime also intends to heighten its onslaught in Kilifi, Lamu and Tana River.

However, to tame Joho, Mubea has been conscripted to cook up trumped charges and arraign him in court ‘alongside five other governors’ in well choreographed ploy which will not see the government suffer backlash like in other instances it has attempted to clip Joho.

The governors lined up include Machakos Alfred Mutua who has a genuine case of corruption at EACC, Homa Bay Governor Cyprian Awiti, Murang’a Governor wa Iria and Marsabit Governor Ukur Yattani whose charges had been dropped but has now been reinstated after he rejoined ODM and denied decamping to Jubilee.

EMBARRASSMENT: WASTED Ababu Namwamba’s low-key Village Party Launch- THEATRE Of The ABSURD

Contrary to assertions by Budalangi Member of Parliament, Ababu Namwamba the newly relaunched Labour Party of Kenya would introduce a fresh impetus to the politics in the country as a third force, today’s low-key relaunch of LPK at Mamba Village was reduced to a Busia County affair that went unnoticed at national media level.

For someone who is used to attend largescale and passionate party meetings in his ODM days, the uneventful LPK launch must have come as a shock to the maverick Budalangi MP who promised political fire and brimstone when he launched his so called third force.

The event took off to an acrimonious begining when Funyula MP Dr. Paul Otuoma stayed away after key NEC positions were handed close associates of Hon Namwamba. Otuoma instead sent his PA and a number of associates.

Earlier in the morning as delegates started streaming into the venue, sources revealed that up to 75% of the attendees were drawn from within Busia County’s 35 wards, and majority of them were from Senator Amos Wako’s Bukhayo clan in Nambale sub-county.

With reports doing rounds that Hon. Namwamba was in the red and nearing bankruptcy after his Jubilee benefactors abandoned him when he fell out and burnt bridges with ODM Party Leader Raila Odinga, Senator Wako stepped in and financed the entire exercise “with help from his Indian friends” to the tune of a whopping Ksh 40 million.

Although Wako has not publicly announced his departure from ODM, his involvement in LPK’s relaunch in which he personally ensured that each delegate from Busia ‘s 35 wards, all 525 of them, we’re each paid Ksh 15,000/- as motivational facilitation for attending today’s relaunch in Nairobi. Ordinarily parties pay much less to delegates during NDCs and Senator Wako, a prime suspect in the Goldenberg and Anglo-Leasing mega-scams, had no problem forking out the millions.

What has long been subject of the grapevine was confirmed when the long hand of Jubilee was exposed. Having been shut out of JAP, the sacked irrigation board CEO Eng Daniel Baraza was in attendance. Eng Baraza is rumoured to be in a love triangle thanet involves an MP from the Mt. Kenya region (but this is a story for another day).

Interestingly, the first resolution the LPK delegates passed was to indicate the party would not join the defunct Jubilee Coalition. But work toward becoming a corporate member of the CORD coalition. This has been widely interpreted as a desperate attempt obtain a political lifeline from Odinga’s widespread influence under the guise of a prodigal son returnif home as “party leader’. Laughable.

But it is the list of LPK’s national officials that has been dismissed as an absurdity. Sample this;

Chairperson – Mama Julia Ojiambo; great great grandmother, former Kalonzo running mate, pulled out of retirement for Ababu show.

Party Leader – Clara Mayaka ; long term associate of Hon Namwamba.

Secretary General – David Makali; former Citizen TV talks how host and IEBC communication consultant

Organizing Secretary – Peter Kibera perennial election loser and party hopper. Bar member Birongo Square, Nairobi West.

CHALLENGES FACING Governor Joho as he Seeks Lead Raila Presidential Campaign

AS HIS POLITICAL STAR SHOOTS TO THE STRATOSPHERE, GOVERNOR JOHO CONFRONTS A DEFINING MOMENT
Mombasa County Governor Hassan Joho is the man of the moment. His triumphant tour is still fresh in our minds and we still yearn for more. Yet, as his star shines, his adversaries are now alert and ready to cut him down to size. The Governor is now squarely at the enviable spotlight with a bull’s eye on his back.

This piece is an open letter to the Heir apparent and to illustrate my point, I will tell a story.

US President Franklin Delano Roosevelt and Britain’s Premier Winston Churchill struck a deal that appeared to shortchange a big time whiskey dealer and U.S. power-broker going by the name Joseph Kennedy.

Kennedy had hoped to land a more juicier deal but ended up getting the post of U.S.
ambassador to the UK and with that, he knew that he will never get past a diplomatic appointment.
A dissapoinnted Kennedy never liked his gig because for the first time, he bet on the wrong horse! He knew that his political star was not going to shine anymore. In dejection, he made a personal vow: one of his children must become President of the United States!

Upon returning home, he embarked on an aggressive grooming scheme that included making sure that all his children went to the best schools and established a mystique about the Kennedy name by elevating them to upper echelons in the society. Having seen the significance of military service in politics, he made sure that his sons joined the military and when they came home, he feted them with exclusive galas.

His first target for elective office was his eldest son Joseph Kennedy Jnr, whose public service trajectory was tragically cut short while on duty.

Joseph Kennedy Snr turned to his other son, John Fitzgerald Kennedy and never looked back. The first mission was to get him elected to Congress and on this mission, he would later brag that given the amount of money he spent in the campaigns, even his butler would have been elected! JFK would later run for Senate and then the presidency in 1960!

At some point in 1961, Joseph Kennedy Snr was the most powerful father in the United States! His son JFK was President of the United States, his son RFK was the Attorney General of the United States while his son Teddy Kennedy was the U.S. Senator from Massachusetts! He achieved all these with a well coordinated public relations machine and a ruthless political operation. To this day, despite all the tragedies, the Kennedy family still dictate how their history is written and they remain an iconic American family.

Mr Governor, you are the man of the moment and judging from a recent interview on TV, you don’t come from a political family. But now you are a star and whether you like it or not, political enemies are unsheathing their swords ready to slay you. I urge you to embark on a third mission.

You have made it clear that you want to accomplish two things ( RAO 2017 and JOHO 2022), but I would like you to add selling a personal narrative as a third mission to your priority list.
I am sure that by now you know that being RAO’ s deputy comes at huge price and if you think that the degree certificate thing was pathetic and low, think again! Remember that was way before you rocked Nairobi! After your triumphant takeover, expect a more determined Jubilee with more outrageous claims.

I will be blunt. Expect the debunked ‘narcotics’ smear to resurface and they didn’t waste anytime. Jubilee operatives are now peddling propaganda hinged on pure conjecture in a bid to tarnish your name. I urge you and your press shop to nip this in the bud before it gets a life of its own.

The status quo loves assigning derogatory narratives to any perceived threats to the throne. Your mentor, the indefatigable ENIGMA, was tied, derisively and falsely to a 1982 coupe and since then, every little piece of creature that hit the planet earth after that year regurgitates the coupe story like a parrot! It’s a methodical indoctrination.

Sir, you can’t afford that. You must start telling your own story for we in the consulting class know all too well that if a candidate doesn’t tell his story, we will gladly and gleefully tell it for him and he is not going to like it.

Other mundane innuendo have been thrown your way and I will not validate them on this piece by mentioning them, but I beseech you to start taking a closer look at your political path and make the necessary adjustments.

You already have the people behind you, all you have to do is show them the way and in doing so, you must also give them something to work with by way of solid narratives to speak about. In the face of false stories, Jubilee’s Goebbels-like narratives tend to stick and after decades of litigating the 1982 coupe, we in the change movement would like to have our own cudgel.

Give us the story of your life. Let your strategists emphasize Joho the family man, the businessman, the philanthropist, the soccer lover, the leader, the next door neighbor, the charisma is palpable and of course Kenyans now know Joho the political mobilizer.
Define yourself before they define you.

WHY JSC NOMINATED Justice David Maraga as the NEXT Chief Justice

The man likely to be the next Chief Justice of the Supreme commands wide respect among fellow judges and is considered the first among equals

Justice David Maraga exhibited the qualities the Judicial Service Commission was seeking, including incorruptibility, independence, professionalism and dedication to reform and restoration of confidence in the judiciary.

The 64-year-old jurist is a strict, Seventh-Day Adventist who has said he will not work on Saturday, even for a presidential petition, which might well come his way.

In the recent past, the old guard and new guard engaged in a fierce succession battle. The judiciary also has been buffeted by allegations of impropriety and bribe-taking, all of them denied. A day before his nomination, however, Maraga had handed to the President Uhuru Kenyatta a report recommending removal of Justice Joseph Mutava. He had been investigated on claims of misconduct.

Yesterday the Judicial Service Commission recommended Maraga and forwarded his name to the President.

The Court of Appeal judge emerged the best among 10 applicants interviewed by the JSC.

The presiding judge of the court in Kisumu scored 84 marks. He was closely followed by Supreme Court Judge Smokin Wanjala with 74 marks and US-based law professor Makau Mutua who garnered 70 marks.

Other candidates interviewed were Supreme Court Judge Jackton Boma Ojwang, Court of Appeal judges Alnashir Visram and Roselyn Nambuye. Also on the list were High Court judge Msagah Mbogholi, former judge Aaron Ringera, ambassador Daniel Wambura, senior counsel Nzamba Kitonga, Lucy Wanja and Paul Kongani.

According to sources, Justice Ringera and ambassador Wambura received the lowest scores. Justice Kitonga was fourth, followed by Justice Visram at fifth.

The JSC made the announcement at the Hemingway Hotel in Karen. JSC chair Prof Margaret Kobia said, “The JSC after lengthy deliberations recommended Hon Mr Justice David Kenani Maraga for appointment as CJ and has submitted the name to His excellency.”

At 64, Justice Maraga will serve for a maximum of six years. The constitution has set judges’ retirement age at 70. the Chief Justice will hold office for a maximum of 10 years, or upon reaching 70, whichever comes first.

He is described by colleagues as humble and hard working.

Maraga is the father of three. His eldest daughter is a dentist, the second daughter is doing her master’s degree in actuarial science. His son is studying at St Andrew’s, Turi, in Nakuru.

As a judge he has served in Mombasa, Kisumu and Nairobi. Prior to his appointment as a judge he practised as an advocate in Nakuru.

According to commissioner Tom Ojienda, Justice Maraga stood out from the rest and exhibits essential qualities. These include integrity, commitment to reform and enjoying respect among his peers.

He said the nominee is expected to present a clear path to reducing the vast case backlog. Former CJ Willy Mutunga managed to reduce the backlog by half, from about one million to a little more than 500,000

“The Chief Justice is not not only the head of the judiciary, the President of the Supreme Court and the intellectual head of the judiciary, but also a person who can work well with other arms of the government and at the same time defend the independence of the judiciary. This Judge Maraga has demonstrated,” Ojienda said.

He added Maraga has demonstrated the ability to work with fellow judges. He chaired the Judiciary Elections Petitions Committee, which recommended ways to properly handle election disputes. The committee gave the judiciary an opportunity to continuously learn and improve on its performance in handling election disputes.

Cord leader Raila Odinga welcomed the appointment, saying he was confident Maraga is up to the task. He said he believes the President and Parliament will approve the nomination.

After approving Maraga, as expected, Uhuru will transmit the nomination to Parliament for approval. If approved, Justice Maraga will take over from Chief Justice Willy Mutunga who is credited with defending the independence of the Judiciary.

Mutunga has called Kenya a “bandit economy” and said justice can be difficult to attain from law enforcement and the courts.

After taking early retirement in June, Mutunga said, “The forces of the status quo in the judiciary loudly claim they will return the institution to its ‘old’ sinful glory — so sinful that the public wanted all judges and magistrates sacked as part of the new constitution.”

The next CJ, he said, must pass tests that include political backbone.

Mutunga is credited with restoring Kenya’s confidence in the courts. He also oversaw the increase in the number of judges from 53 to the current 143. He decentralised the Court of Appeal to Kisumu, Nyeri and Malindi.

Mutunga created 17 new court stations, some in remote areas like Garissa, Marsabit and Garsen, to bring justice closer to the people. He opened a court at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.

Justice Maraga will be expected to continue with the reform process and restore credibility in the judiciary and its highest court.

This follows the acrimonious retirement of Deputy Chief Justice Kalpana Rawal. Judge Philip Tunoi faced a hearing over claims he accepted a Sh200 million bribe to influence the ruling on the Nairobi election petition in favour of Governor Evans Kidero. He and Kidero denied allegations. Tunoi retired and the inquiry ended.

Cord leader Raila Odinga also challenged the election, but the court found in favour of Uhuru. A number of people, including CJ candidate Makau Mutua, said Uhuru was not legitimately elected and faulted the Supreme Court.

On Monday, the JSC will begin interviews for Deputy Supreme Court Justice. Sixteen applicants are on the short list. Then the commission will interview for judge of the Supreme Court.

ALERT! ‘Obomo Bwo Mogusii’ had no influence on the nomination of CJ designate David Maraga

Appellate judge Justice David Maraga Kenani was yesterday nominated by the Judicial Service Commission to serve Kenyans as the new Chief justice after the early retirement of Willy Mutunga.

Immediately after Justice Maraga’s nomination, a group of ODM rebels fraudulently claimed the bragging rights saying Maraga was picked as a result of their visit to State House.

The great people of Gusii should take caution that JSC is an independent constitutional body and not a political one. The post of Chief Justice is constitutional and not a political appointment.

The Judicial Service Commission is a totally independent body and does not work under the influence of the President. Therefore the claims by ‘Obomo Bwo’Mogusii’ founders is false and misleading.

Justice Maraga won the confidence of JSC on merit. He is religious, incorruptible and sober-minded judge whose judgement is not interfered with. He is a man of unquestionable morals and full of experience.

It is therefore wrong for them to go round claiming the credit they don’t deserve with an intention of hoodwinking voters on the ground.

‘Obomo Bwomogusii’ encompasses a group of political conmen whose intention is to take over the leadership of Kisii County by all means.

The great people of Gusiiland should reject these individuals led by Senator Kisii Chris Obure and former CIC chair Charles Nyachae as they come.

CHIEF JUSTICE DESIGNATE

By Jackson Omondi
Let me join legions of Kenyans in congratulating David Maraga the incoming Chief Justice of the Republic of Kenya. I will be remissed if I didn’t mention that we (Kenyans) are a highly partisan lot, we see everything through the prism of political (read tribal) affiliation.

This means that the CJ designate’s judicial pedigree will certainly be a specimen in the political laboratory for political junkies to examine.

His position on issues like habeas corpus ( given the government’s cavalier crackdown on dissenting voices) will certainly be viewed from a partisan political vantage point.

We are less than a year away from the 2017 polls and the infamous Mutunga ruling is still fresh in the minds of many Kenyans. How this new CJ handles a hot button issue like stare decisis will also give political talking heads more to chew on.

I wish him all the best, but I am also not holding my breath for any rocket-launching supreme court jurisprudence.

Raila CONGRATULATES Chief Justice Nominee David Maraga

Kenyans have welcomed the nomination of Judge David Maraga as the new Chief Justice to replace Willy Mutunga.Leaders from across the political divide praised JSC’s appointment of Maraga, 65, who will now await vetting by the National Assembly and eventually the approval by President Uhuru Kenyatta.

ODM leader Raila Odinga was among the first to wish Judge Maraga well, saying he is up to the task before him.”I took the opportunity to wish the new Chief Justice nominee Justice David Maranga(sic) well,” Raila tweeted during his tour of Kwale on Thursday.

“Cord congratulates the impeccable David Maraga for being named Chief Justice nominee. We will unequivocally support his nomination in bunge,” the coalition said on its Twitter handle.

Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen referred to Maraga as a man of integrity, who is ready to ensure transformation of the judiciary.

“Congratulations Justice Maraga. He deserves it. Let’s restore values to our judiciary. Smokin Wanjala is the future” the Senator tweeted on Thursday.Senate Deputy Minority Whip Janet Ong’era also congratulated the judge who was a presiding judge of the Court of Appeal in Kisumu.
“I welcome the nomination of David Maraga and congratulate him on leading in the interviews conducted by the JSC,” she said.

Former JSC member lawyer Ahmnednasir Abdullahi also welcomed Maraga’s nomination, saying: “Justice Maraga is our new CJ. congratulations … ”

Maraga, who was the third judge to be interviewed for the position of the next Chief Justice, is expected to assume office immediately Uhuru approves his nomination.

He was among 11 judges shortlisted by the Judicial Service Commission.

DESPERATE Ababu Namwamba to REBRAND Labour Party of Kenya, be Elected PARTY Leader

EUROBOND FINALLY GETS ITS FIRST OFFSPRING
Ababu is set to rollout his political party of choice on Thursday. According to a press release , the former teamfresher settled on Dr Julia Ojiambo’s LPK and in what comes as a surprise to absolutely nobody, he is poised to dwarf the non-existent competition to become, wait for it, ‘party leader.’

The former ODM secretary general is said to have shortchanged his fellow rebels by pocketing serious largesse that was supposed to be used in greasing a few pockets in order to win over converts.

However, things went south when the peanut gallery realized that the spoils were not forthcoming. Political intelligence gathered by those who cheered him on, turned in unfavorable numbers and they have since realized that in order to win any future elections, they will need to stay put (in ODM).

This is why they have gone quiet. And while they were busy straddling the fence, a new sheriff came to town and things are not going to be the same again.

There is a an unwritten rule in politics that a goes a little something like this: if you are going to bolt out of a political juggernaut, make sure that it counts and that your absence goes on to cripple the outfit. Ababu must have been oblivious to this simple truism. He left the party but the opposite occurred! His former colleagues in the defunct Team Fresh are more vibrant than ever while Ababu took a trip to the dustbin scavenging for a ‘party’ and emerged with LPK.

Of course those who bankrolled the abortive political coupe de tat are bound to ask for a refund for they envisioned a tectonic shift or a political earthquake but what they got was the sound of a matchstick! Who can blame them?

In as much as the marauding Men in Black episode will forever remain as a black eye on our political outfit, with the benefit of hindsight, they had a point, it’s just that they went about it in the most politically grotesque manner.

Curiously, the incoming LPK ‘party leader’ was the most vocal talking head after the whole MIB thing while the man who bankrolled the campaigns, the main man himself , Governor Hassan Joho was very quiet and never went to the rooftops to bemoan the bungled polls. I wonder why?

EXPOSED: Uhuru will DUMP DP Ruto after 2017 VICTORY, Mt Kenya will BACK Mudavadi/Kiunjuri/Moi TICKET

Bomet Governor Isaac Rutto has dismissed the Jubilee Party, saying it will disintegrate after the elections.

He said Deputy President William Ruto cannot be Kenya’s President because of “his trait”. The former governors’ council chairman said the DP overlooks other players in politics because of his “know it all” attitude.

Rutto described the DP as a dictator who is using his position to amass wealth. “Ruto has been busy burning bridges and will not have anyone to fall back on. He has been trampling on everyone. Everyone is complaining,” he said in an exclusive interview at his Nairobi office.

Rutto said the relationship between Ruto and President Uhuru Kenyatta is meant to ensure that Uhuru wins the next elections so he could control the civil service and the security docket alone. He said after the next elections, Uhuru will edge out Ruto and run the government alone. “After the elections, he will have no gravitas,” the governor said.

Rutto said Central Kenya will abandon the Jubilee Party soon after the 2017 elections. He added, “There will be no Jubilee in 2018. It will be as dead as PNU. It will be as dead as Narc.”

He said Uhuru will have no political clout to rally Central Kenya behind Ruto in case he serves a second term. “Mount Kenya will identify another candidate for the top seat before the DP celebrates and they will not hide it,” Rutto said. “It will be a joke to say they will support Ruto. No. It won’t happen, it can’t happen, it will never happen.”

The CCM leader said the statements by nominated Senator Paul Njoroge and Governor William Kabogo and the responses to their utterances are enough indication Central Kenya does not feel obliged to back Ruto in 2022.

“It is exactly the way it is. It is common knowledge. If they could not vote for retired president Daniel Moi, Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka or any other person, how will they vote for William?” he said.

Rutto criticised Uhuru and Ruto for using government apparatus to intimidate the governors. “They are taking us back to where we left 20 years after multipartism. We can’t be frogmarched into one basket called Jubilee like robots,” he said.

10 REASONS why Musalia SHOULD NOT be CORD’s Presidential flag bearer

1. Mudavadi is not a leader; he is always led or misled. Moi led him to his appointment as minister. He then misled him to abandon the opposition in 2002 for a 3 month VP position. Raila led him out of oblivion into the office of Deputy PM. Mudavadi was again misled by uhuruto into his current joblessness… currently, his spouse is reported to have last word on so much.

2. Mudavadi is a player on loan to the democratic forces from the ‘homeguard lineage. (read Kanu, PNU, jubilee) His mentorship is pure home guard stuff. Players on loan do not captain host teams. He shouldn’t captain democratic forces where he is a mere substitute.

3. Mudavadi spent the better half of his life fighting reforms but only changed and became a lip servant to democratic struggles at best. He often agonizes but never organizes e.g. he refused to take part in the IEBC demos, never joined the campaign to devolve funds to counties through Okoa Kenya.

4. Historical injustices scare him. When Raila called for the implementation of the TJRC report at Ntimama’s funeral, he ridiculed the dialogue on the same labeling it ‘Juvenile’. The reason is simple; he has 700 hundred acres in Kitale among other lands acquired by Jomo Kenyatta’s and Moi’s signatures that amount to historical injustices captured in the report.

5. Mudavadi lacks the international political infrastructure that can propel his presidency and a Mudavadi candidature will not adequately inspire the CORD following being ideologically colorless.

6. Nothing in the experience of Mudavadi has prepared him for a bruising contest for power with hardcore and criminally inclined right wingers known to the late Jacob Juma, Jubilee . He has a passion for his beer and generally lazy, not a go-getter.

7. All know; Mudavadi’s first 100 days will be spent on appeasing those guilty of political and economic crimes mainly from the Kikuyu Mafia and appointing them back to office. The ruling slogan will revert to “Peace, Love and Unity, perhaps dubbed pragmatism”. A Mudavadi government is a “Forget about Jacob Juma, Lawyer Willy Kimani, JM Kariuki, let’s “move forward” government. He will have no time for the Maasai Land issue and the TJRC report will remain in the shelves.

8. It is obvious, Mudavadi will embark on a “clean-up exercise”, removing reformers from key positions in government; hence watering down the influence of Raila and his allies as happened under Kibaki. It won’t take long before they label Raila Odinga “One Dangerous Man” like Musikari Kombo (now expired) did for the riggers of 2007 general elections.

9. Under him, without fundamental reforms, economic stagnation and political betrayal tension will grow. The Mafia will revert to their traditional tactics: do a ‘Jacob Juma/JM. Kariuki’ on a patriot of Muthama’s or Orengo’s stature hiding behind the ‘mluhya’ in state house. The Luhya community will ignorantly vow to die with ‘one of their own’ (shenyu ni shenyu shenanigan) as naïve Mudavadi struggles to clear his name. The Cord family as currently constituted will disintegrate paving the way for the return of ‘tuko Pamoja’ (Turi Hamwe) within the first two years.

10. Knowing Mudavadi, persistent attacks on his government will mess his health and exacerbate his drinking and a mere rumor that a coup is in the works will send him to exile never to return leaving Kenya in shambles, Somalia-style.

Let us not pretend, we know whom HISTORY has prepared to get us out of our (Kenyan’s) current predicament.

BREAKING: Raila SUPPORTS Kalonzo’s Proposal of CORD JOINT Nominations to Field Single Candidates on coalition ticket

PRESS RELEASE
SEPTEMBER 20, 2016
HON. RAILA SUPPORTS JOINT NOMINATIONS IN CORD AND FIELDING OF SINGLE CANDIDATES ON COALITION TICKET:
CORD leader Rt. Hon Raila Odinga is in agreement with the proposal by co-principal Hon Kalonzo Musyoka’s for joint nominations between the parties forming the CORD and the fielding of candidates on CORD flag in a similar fashion with that of Narc in 2002 elections.

In this arrangement, all parties will present candidates for nomination and the overall winner will fly the coalition’s ticket as ODM/ CORD, Wiper/ CORD or Ford Kenya/CORD.

The coalition will encourage the other parties willing to come on board to support this arrangement that enables them retain their identity while flying the corporate CORD flag.

This arrangement will help the coalition avoid competition between constituent parties that saw them split votes and lose seats in some cases.

Uhuru FORCED to COUNTER Governor Joho Nairobi Rally, goes round City PARADING Sonko for Governor

President Uhuru is said to have been ambushed by Statehouse operatives and forced to move to Nairobi streets to counter Governor Ali Hassan Joho’s successful tour of Nairobi county.

Just like Governor Joho went round the city campaigning for re-election of governor Kidero, Uhuru too paraded Mike Sonko and even forced Johnson Sakaja to vow before the thousands who gathered that he will support Sonko if he loses the Jubilee primaries.

That Governor Joho’s rally had bigger ramifications in the city and even setting agenda for the president is no secret!

Governor Joho TRIP to Wajir with Rosemary Odinga may send Eliud Owalo to PARANOIA

Governor’s Joho and Rosemary Odinga successful trip to Wajir where they mobilized the Somali community to support Raila 2017 bid may send Eliud Owalo to paranoia.

Owalo a former Raila aide and presidential campaign mismanager is eyeing the Kibra seat that many pundits have indicated is for Rosemary for taking. Owalo’s ealier paranoia signs were revealed when he made frantic calls to Joho and even wrote a hard hitting open letter to ODM deputy governor warning him against interfering in Nairobi politics.

Now, with Rosemary in Joho’s corner and possible running-mate in 2022 Owalo must be staring at a near still birth of his yet to be launched competitive political career.

This is how one Kamasasa Emphrahim captured the Joho Rosemary Political affair:

Note someone in those pictures. Rosemary Odinga. You remember Joho will lead Raila campaigns? Then with Joho will be Rosemary. Then i can conclude that Raila retirement is here with us. 2017 it is! Joho is positioning himself for 2022 well. No wonder Owallo is a bitter man. I can now feel his bitterness.
