Dear Idle ‘Statehouse’ Bloggers, Please Allow The Late Msando’s wife to Mourn the Best Way She Knows, You Can’t Use Her as a Distraction, Nkt !

By Kamasasa E

Good morning. There was a disco matanga or bugi after Msando’s burial. Msando’s widow joined for a serious jig. One of those in the dancing group took a video clip showing how good the widow was shaking body (the Ohangla way). A section of Kenyans are now castigating and ridiculing the widow for having a jig. Some are extending insults towards her person as if they know how to mourn more than her.

Listen Kenyans. Each and every tribe has a way of celebrating a life. In Luo and Luhya culture, after the burial the widow/widower is always advised to dance. An in law has to wake up from the chair and help the widower/widow shake the waist. In fact, the in law must hold the widower/widow so tight. Kukamatia chini kabisa and music hits the floor. Its not bad. Its not a vice. This is the beginning of the healing process. Allow Msando’s wife to move on. She can’t stay mourning all throughout her life. Life must move on. She is still strong, beautiful and sharp.

Lets respect and celebrate other tribes culture!
