Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko has come to the rescue of Lavington Primary School which had already lost 2 acres of it’s playing filed to a private developer.
The School’s head teacher Agnes Ndolo raised the red flag and wrote a panic letter to Sonko urging him to come to the rescue of the school’s 1,600 pupils who were on the risk of losing the playing field to the land grabber who is registered as KENSOM Holding.
The Senator who has declared total war against land grabbers in the city has already petitioned President Uhuru Kenyatta to ensure the National Land Commission issues a title deed to the school.
The head teacher has also raised fears over her life for exposing the land grabbing by the private developer who is allegedly planning to build an ultra modern shopping mall on the prime playing ground.
Ndolo wants Sonko to help in securing a title deed for the school and also help the school’s administration in fencing off the playing ground.
Lavington Primary School Management Committee Chairperson June Keriri had earlier stated that the Government must move quickly to protect the playing ground by issuing title-deeds to the school.
The private developer has allegedly secured a fake title deed of the playing ground in 2007 with assistance from the defunct City Council of Nairobi.
