SHAME: The Average Kenyans’ BEAN-SIZED BRAIN !

Excuse me fellow Kenyans, what’s is this nonsense am reading all over the place about standing “with The Kenya Defence Forces and thank yous for protecting our country”? Are you being serious? You sure are a funny and forgetful lot! Not even Mr President cares as he relaxes from his jet set lifestyle by the seaside breeze in the historic resort city of Mombasa, sipping fine pine wine, and enjoying delicious, lavish Swahili cuisine in the company of his loved ones and monied lieutenants dishing out brown stashed envelopes!!

The facts glaring on Kenyans suggest clearly that the beneficiaries of the war in Somalia are NOT ordinary Kenyans. On the contrary, Kenyans have suffered deadly repercussions as a direct result of our involvement in the Somalian civil war, the mistreatment of ordinary Somalis, especially refugees and shameful corrupt conduct of our senior army officers.

The single killing of so many Kenyan solders in Somalia shouldn’t come as a surprise. In fact, in my view, it may as well have been an inside job, like so many previously staged, and unsolved massacres. It’d be incomprehensible how a rag tag bunch of idiots could ambush and overrun a military base?! It just doesn’t happen, and if it does, I should have heard some high ranking sackings by now. As it happens, business carries on as usual. And the government doesn’t even want figures of the dead published while Kenyans are in a chorus “standing with kdf!”

Well, as of now, I can tell you that at least 63 are confirmed dead, several missing having escaped and are being hunted in the uncharted wilderness, and some kidnapped by for propaganda. Latest unconfirmed reports cite a figure of at least 100 soldiers feared dead. Uganda, Burundi and even the US of America have all had a taste of Somalian guerrilla warfare. Obviously no lessons have been learnt. Seems plausible to imagine the camp wholly asleep when the ambush happened, if not choreographed. I should imagine the roll call will be next week!

My thoughts and prayers are with the affected families.

That said, I have some serious questions for our government:

What were Kenyan solders doing in Somalia?

So far the UN issued an embarrassing report about our senior army generals’ conduct in Southern Somalia. Second the Somalian interim government representing the people of Somalia voted to have Kenyans forces out of their country. Shouldn’t we respect their wishes.
Third: Our own tribal skirmishes going on right now in the Rift Valley- shouldn’t that be a priority KDF?

Aaand, for any diplomatic idiot, should we be waging war in our neighbourhood? Especially with fundamentalists like al Shabbab who care less if they live or die with a promise of 70 virgins in their afterworld! Why are Kenyan army operations in Somalia in the public domain when the soldiers wear camouflaged uniforms?

And why is the commander in chief of our armed forces holed up in some holiday nest and not in his military uniform, parading out a rescue mission for EVERY of our solders: dead or alive?

The answers are very simple. Sadly the poor men and women supposedly “fighting for our country” (what a crappy statement), are dying for mindless greedy capitalists whose sons and daughters are busy learning how to maintain a grip on power and money.

We must remember that while al Shabbab engages the African Union forces to the deserted interior of southern Somalia, the British and Americans have completed their exploration of untapped Somalian liquid gold and probably piping it directly to their strategic position on the Djibouti Coast. That is the real reason for the score long chaos in that beautiful country, beside the seizure and exploitation of the thousand-mile long rich Somalian coastline by America and certain powerful European countries- mainly Britain and France. Kenyans are busy singing, standing and thanking the KDF “for protecting our country”! Nonsense!

And for Mr Kenyatta who has totally failed to contain corruption snd govern the country, this is a much needed distraction! Kenyans have suddenly switched from crying foul about the Eurobond scandal- to “they gave their lives so that we can be free”!
Hehe……don’t lie to yourself. The only freedom we need in Kenya is freedom from poor leadership and corruption.

For me, if Kenyan solders were to achieve something, send them to Libya and Mali. Let Nigeria deal with Somalia; South Africa to handle Boko haram in Nigeria while Senegal goes to Chad and Tanzania to Sudan- and so forth- basically to confuse America and allies and not get involved in their proxy wars. If we were treating Somalians well, even the Mandera, Nairobi and Garissa massacres would have been avoided.

Somalian people are not just our neighbours- they are our brethren -on both sides of the borders. solders should be stationed along the borders to sieve through those who are fleeing for safety, offering them hospitality as we do to our guests- coming from out of Africa; and apprehending those who are importing terror into our country – and handing them to the authorities in Mogadishu, Britain or wherever they may be coming from.

No need for our solders to die in vain and I echo the chorus of a few calling for the swift return of our men and women home- those still lucky to be alive the dead! They went fighting for nothing and were likely sleeping, unprotected-and died in vain. The plight of families left to fend for themselves remains untold. And with the laissez-faire leadership in Nairobi, even accounting and publishing the names of the fallen appropriately will be a task, let alone the long painful followups for parents, widows and orphans trying to get their meagre dues paid. Sorry to be of little consolation. Am sure you’d prefer the truth.

While that’s ongoing, I am still curious as to how a whole KSHS 140 billion (that’s nearly USD1 Billion) would disappear and nobody is angry! Oh, we should be happy, Mr president just “donated” Kenyan land to Kenyans!! Well, 2,000 acres to be precise-of the 500,000 grabbed by his father who was president from 1963 till he dropped literally-holding all in his family name,!

It’s difficult to contextualise the greed. And am wholly persuaded that this tragedy is choreographed, going by the reaction of the president and his interior minister- (don’t even know why Nkaissery’s name is in the news when The defence secretary is alive and well). And why ODM has not deregistered Nkaissery from the people’s party!
